Loved their vegan donuts (which I found out are only available Saturdays) and they were so kind! The donuts are big, yeasty and fluffy. It makes me happy that I can find some delicious vegan classics out here.

This is the best donut shop in Oregon. Not only do you get superb donuts, but you'll find yourself going in just because it's been a day--or week--when you could use a little kindness, and everyone who works there is incredibly kind. Excellent place all around.

This review is long overdue for our favorite local donut shop. Donut Palace is simply the best, and that is because the people who run it are so warm and friendly. As an added bonus, they make vegan donuts on Saturdays. My son loves them and their donuts so much that for the last three years he has not even asked for a birthday cake. Instead, he asks for birthday donuts from Donut Palace. Thank you for your hospitality, your donuts made w/ <3, and especially the apple fritters!

Donut Palace lives up to its name! The owner is one of the friendliest people you’ll meet—always smiling and handing out samples, which makes the experience even better. They’ve got a great one-off selection of patties and an awesome variety of donuts that keep you coming back to try something new. A sweet little spot with a big heart behind it.

My favorite donut place. I drive out of my way to get these and even had them at my wedding as their own table because they are so good. They are so friendly and helpful every time I go. I have even had them frost donuts on the spot for me because they were out of one flavor. Will continue recommending to all my friends.

Donut Palace makes fantastic donuts! As soon as I walked in the door, I knew that this place was something special. The donuts taste fantastic, with perfect cakey texture without being too sweet. They are also beautiful, with great care taken in their creation. The people that run this place obviously value quality and strive to provide the best donuts they can. There's a good variety to choose from. You'll find all of the classics you expect, just better than you remember. The apple fritters are huge. Make sure you try one!

Amazing service, warm donuts! Brought in 5 tweens/teens on the way to the beach for a birthday weekend and the guy (probably the owner) was extremely fun and friendly making them laugh and giggle while giving them a special extra treat without charge. 10/10 will become a regular beach trip stop

The gentleman that runs this store is 1/4 of the reason that I come back. He puts a smile on my face early in the morning, without even tasting the donuts yet! You can tell he loves his job and that feeling is contagious when you enter his store. Thanks for everything! Oh, the donuts are tasty and warm every morning! My fav is the maple bar!

We LOVE Donut Palace!!! This place has an awesome selection of vegan donuts on Saturdays and they're friendly people. My son has an egg and peanut allergy and has been able to safely enjoy a good donut! I highly recommend if you're in the area and looking for a tasty donut.

Super nice staff. The donuts are great but the guy behind the counter was awesome. My daughter recommended that they make tiger tails and he immediately added chocolate to a maple bar for her. Not everyone wants business advice from an elementary student but he immediately engaged with her and made her happy. She raved about the donuts and how nice he was. Apple fritter was awesome also...

This place is awesome. They are so friendly. Always an extra treat for friendly customers - today it was a handful of donut holes, just because. And the Apple Fritters for the adults are delicious!! We love Donut Palace.

I just placed an order for donut holes - to pick up tomorrow. Haven't even tasted them yet but I had such a delightful time interacting with the gentleman on the phone (who is quite witty) that I already want to give this place 5 stars! Wished I lived in the area. I'd go often just to banter with the owner.

I have never had a better donut! In 58 years of life, these are hands down the best. The owner handed my dad a free box when he was closing up. I tried a sample of every flavor in the box. What am I gonna do?? Good thing we joined Bethany Athletic Club today.

I tried a buttermilk bar, cinnamon roll, and fritter recently. I had forgotten my review from six years ago and the buttermilk bar blew my mind again! It has the perfect amount of oil and glaze over lots of nooks and crannies for an excellent surface area/volume ratio. I also ate a cinnamon roll fresh out of the fryer and it was the best thing ever; it was pillowy soft and melted in my mouth. Sadly, the apple fritter tasted burnt. Despite this, I still give this place five stars. The owner has a pretty funny sense of humor; he told me to hold my fresh cinnamon roll like a baby, lol.

Fantastic classic donuts that are just plain good donuts, not the odd vegan or strange topping/flavor donuts that are more about being exotic than tasty. Highly recommend the raspberry fritter and the fruit jelly donuts. Creme filled was a bit of a disappointment as I expected a Boston creme and it was not, and chocolate old fashioned was not as crispy as we would have like, but overall it's the best classic donut shop in the Hillsboro/west Portland area. Coffee was also excellent (had a cappuccino).

I feel as if this place is definitely at the top of the best mom and pop donut spots in Portland. Their donuts are so light, fluffy, and fresh. We even went in toward the end of the donut shops day and still they were super soft and delicious. It isn't close to our home anymore but these donuts are worth the extra drive. Oh, the owner is so nice and kind to kids as well:-)

I started my diet on 1/1/22 i weighed 232lbs. My diet ended 6/1/22 and i weighed 191.4lbs. Where was the first place i wanted to go? DONUT PALACE! Why did i want to go there? Because they have the best donuts around! They are cooked fresh every single day. The owner and the staff are amazing. Super friendly and patient. They give honest input about their donuts. Customer service is unmatched! My favorite donut is the vanilla crumb All the donuts are very well balanced with sweet but not to sweet. They have vegan options also. This location honestly is like a best kept secret. But to support the business i don't think it should be a secret! I really recommend giving them a shot!

The best donuts I've tasted in decades! The blueberry ones are especially delicious! I prefer cake donuts over raised donuts and they have lots of variety for me and my family. The only current problem with this business is that their hours were shortened because of the aftereffects of the damn pandemic, hence, they're not open to as late in the afternoon as their website states. So, go in the morning and enjoy!

It's been 7 years since I've been here and my review hasn't changed really. This works for them, but not for me. The donuts are meh. Probably only worth 2 stars. What they still do is a very good fritter. Both the apple and the raspberry were to a higher standard and done very well. This still won't be my go to out here but like I said, this works for them so more power to them!

YELP REVIEW For Donut Palace 8/30/21 BOTTOM LINE FIRST: The fritter was burned to almost black. So much that the crispy outside edges (that we usually love) crumbled off when bit into and the maple bar was super dry with too much icing (even though it did help when trying to swallow it down). 4.5 Stars for this place really has us scratching our heads. It was on our way to the beach so the high stars convinced us to stop here rather than going 5 minutes out of our way to Krispy Kreme (dumbest decision EVER!). I was planning to order a 1/2 dozen but when I saw the selection, quickly scaled it down to just a maple bar and an apple fritter for the hubby and me. We would have just left except we were hungry and in a hurry. Next time we'll go with what we know rather than being adventurous. ‍

They open daily (seven days a week?) during this difficult time. The owner bakes donuts everyday, serve them himself, put a plastic sheild in between the counter, put his gloves on, and wash the paper bills under the espresso steamer, then dry them out before he hands them to customers. Kids love his donuts! Some of their favorites, cinnamon twist, vanilla icing crumbles or sprinkles. I also got donut holes (great snack bites!) and also he said "Japanese style donut", simple donut with powder sugar. If you need some treats, get some donuts and Support local business!

"Don't ever bring me one of those from that place again!" Those are the words my exercising, health conscious, non-sweets eating wife said to me after scarfing down a donut I brought her from Donut Palace. You know something tastes good when you feel guilty after eating it so fast, and boy did she look guilty, and then a little mad when those words came out of her mouth. LOL Meanwhile I was taking my time enjoying every bite of my Guava donut. Oh yes, you heard me right, GUAVA DONUT. The gentleman behind the counter, Mo, was so pleasant, I could have hung out all day talking with him. He explained to me that they only use real fruit purée for their fillings and frostings. I can definitely assure you that makes a big difference. There's no artificial food coloring taste. COVID has been challenging for this business, as it's been for many others in the food industry. They only make a limited amount of donuts each morning, and when they're sold out, they close. It's a necessary adjustment for challenging times. So if you want one of these delicious donuts, I suggest you get there before 10am or you might go home with a sad face and empty hands. The picture attached is from my second trip to Donut Palace. My wife didn't get any! Please continue to support this family owned small business and others like it!

Well I'd say some good, some decent and some not-so-decent.... The husband ran there this past weekend, best donut reviews in the immediate area so we had to give them a try. According to him, the gentlemen on staff were extremely friendly, and as it turns out eager to please. I'd requested a white cake donut with white frosting, and altho they didn't have any avail at that moment they offered to quickly ice a plain cake....very cool. As for our other selections, a couple old fashioned, a couple raised yeast, and 2 cakes. The yeast donuts were not good...the icings were good and the reg glazed even had crispy edges, always a fan. However they actually tasted of oil, never a fan. The white cake white icing was pretty good, although the icing wasn't the normal icing one expects on a donut. It was softer and slightly sweeter. To be honest it was a bit odd, but didn't taste bad. The old fashioned selections were on par with similar at most donut shops. Overall a good showing for service and cake varieties...but a miss on the yeast donuts.

A palace of donuts, eh? No need to overhype this place as a palace cause you already had errrbody at "donut", but I guess you just can't call a place "Donut" now can you? Ya, this isn't a fancy royal Portland doughnut joint selling brioche, magical, or made-to-order mini-donuts. Nope, this is Donut Palace. It's a classic neighborhood shop giving local families, friends, co-workers, and lonely Yelpers just what we want: donuts. If there is one claim to the throne at Donut Palace, I herald the best and burliest Old-fashioned Cake Buttermilk Bars ... ever. And, yep, I just typed "ever" ... because these beasts are so thick AND hefty it took attempts (yeah, plural) to finish just one. Saturday is vegan donut day at the Palace. All I have to say about that is ... ... ... ... Anyways, I also loved the smoother and creamier frosting on the frosted Strawberry Donuts and Vanilla Donuts. About the only donut I didn't dig was the Glazed Chocolate Cake Doughnut. Come on Saturdays for Vegan Donuts if interested. Otherwise, for classic, old-school donuts and the heftiest Buttermilk Bar ever, I declare that lords and ladies of Portland will find comfort at this palace of donuts.

This place is awesome and super kid friendly! They always invite my daughter to go behind the counter so she can see the donuts better and pick out what she wants! She feels so comfortable there and is always so happy to go! And they give my kiddos donut holes, which are perfectly portioned for my kids! Such a SWEET shop (literally and figuratively)!! The donuts are soft and feel very light! I don't even feel that guilty eating a few donuts on my own (probably not a good thing for my health lol). They also offer vegan donuts on Saturday! Good alternative for those with dietary restrictions! Yum yum! So glad we found this place!!

Love you, Donut Palace. I walked in this morning for my first time and all I saw in the case was some boring looking donuts, and not necessarily labeled vegan. When the kind gentleman behind the counter came out I asked about vegan donuts, and he said, "Oh no, why do people keep coming here thinking we have vegan donuts?" LOL. What a jokester, and he called me around to the side where there was a different case. And this case was LOADED with all my favorite donuts that were vegan!! The non-vegan side was boring, but they really rolled out the red carpet for the vegan donuts. I swear that case glowed. They have the Boston creme's, the jelly filleds, all sorts of other fancy ones, apple bars, fritters, and last but definitely not least, cake holes! They're much lighter than a donut hole so I think it's a cake hole. They even had some donuts with names I never heard of before shaped like hearts and filled with something I had never tasted before. Either way, EVERYTHING was delicious! My donut-loving partner who is not vegan also was incredibly pleased. Definitely a special place we will return to time and again now. It's close to home, clean, friendly, vegan, and extremely delicious. Thanks for being so bad ass, Donut Palace!

Hands down memory lane. Owner is the nicest guy around. Always greeting us and entertaining our kids. Reminds me of simpler times and how personable owners can be to bond with customers. Would not eat any other donut but here. Fresh and local.

Our absolute favorite location for mouth-watering donuts! This is a crave-worthy spot that never disappoints!! We love all of their offerings and we're so happy to have this diamond in the neighborhood!

I am writing specifically about their vegan donuts because they're the only ones that I have had... That being said they are the most fantastic donuts I have had outside my own kitchen. Which is saying something because I've been making donuts for 35 years... The owner is kind and personable and enthusiastic and while vegan donuts are only available there Wednesdays and Saturdays it is a huge step forward for plant-based eating! I encourage everyone who is vegan and even those who aren't to give their vegan donuts a try. Me personally... I think people who aren't plant-based should try the vegan donuts because they probably say I don't get it... They taste just as good as the regular ones because they do! Going plant-based is the right thing to do for yourself and for the planet. Not that donuts are health food they're not but being able to go out and have a sweet sugary treats is a fabulous privilege and one that I'm glad I can now do you near my home. Their prices are really affordable compared to places like Voodoo donuts... And honestly they're better even though Voodoo Donuts are pretty good I will admit that Aside from the fact they taste better, and they are more affordable by a great deal then they're vegan donut competitors... I like them because they also have old fashion cake donuts... Which I know as someone who makes them...is not difficult to do but the other donut shops that have vegan donuts usually stick to yeast driven donuts which are not nearly as satisfying and are frequently greasy. I look forward to a future when I can come back and amend this review because donut Palace is then offering Vegan Donuts each and every day... But this is a huge step in the right direction and I am grateful for their fabulous snacks!

This is literally my favorite donut shop anywhere. The donuts are just really amazing, and the owner is super funny and kind!

I was running errands in the Tanasbourne area, and was craving something to eat with my home brew coffee. Donut, I thought, that's what I want! So I did a quick google map search and found Donut palace! I had passed it many, many times before. Like other small donut shops, you don't really see it unless you look for it. It's located right off the ramp of HWY26 and 185th exit. It's easy to pull into the little shopping area and the parking is plenty. When I got into the shop, I saw a wall of... donuts! It's quite late in the day (about 3:30pm) but they still have a bunch of donuts left. The staff was friendly and timid, and the donuts behind him looked fabulous. I ordered the regular sugar donut, cream filled donut and chocolate glazed cake donut (the staff recommendation). They are about 1.5 bucks each and the size was not disappointing. Both yeast donuts were soft and fluffy, while the cake donut was moist and dense. The cream filling was light and rich. It's not overly sweet, which I like. The chocolate glazed cake donut has good chocolate favor without being too sugary or sweet. I have to say they are my favorite donut so far (beside pip's!). I have tried many fancy donuts in town, but they are loaded with so many elements and ... things. Sometimes i wonder what did I just eat, and did I really spent that much money on one donut..?! Anyways... Now I know I'll drop by Donut Palace when I am in this area, which is a lot!

I'm not from the area and went at the buttcrack of dawn and was a little apprehensive driving into the parking lot, especially because the store didn't look like it was open. Luckily for me another car pulled up behind me. Delish! I am not a raised donut fan but Donut Palace's had a such a great texture I didn't mind when I bit into my chocolate coconut and found out that, in fact, was not a cake donut. My coworkers enjoyed their donuts very much and I'll be sure to visit again the next time I'm in the area.

I'm from Vancouver, husband is at Kaiser Westside hospital all weekend, wanted to get do it for the nurses who took good care of him. Happened to see the sign off 185th exit for Palace donuts! Perfect! Drive around the parking lot couldn't find it, then saw it! Yes. Walked in greeted by two gentlemen. Told them I wanted a dozen for the nurses. Joked around. Coffee and donut for me! A dozen-plus for the Kaiser Permanente nurses on the third floor! Win win situation and I didn't have to pay for 4 dozen when I won! ;) great customer service! Donuts were yummy!

I ventured out here after seeing several positive suggestions on a local vegan group. On Wednesday and Saturday they do a special case of vegan donuts. I walked into a clean restaurant with friendly counter service. I got a few donuts and a cup of coffee. My husband and I enjoyed our donuts the next day and they were absolutely amazing! I would for sure come back here and enjoy more of their amazing donuts!

I'm obsessed with donuts these days and i have to say this place is amazing! Small place at a shopping complex and when we first arrived, there are already people waiting outside of the door in the morning. The person who served us is really friendly and joked with us a lot, which made the experience awesome at quarantine time. The choices at the place is simpler, no fancy flavors like blue star or voodoo, but they are so good. We had original, old fashion, apple fritter, and strawberry and raspberry cream. Their original donut is so good, just like the ones we are as kids at amusement park or state fairs! The apple fritter and old fashion are amazing too. One thing i didn't like so much are the jam filled one. As a sweet tooth, they are relative sour to me. And also the donut itself for those ones are a bit dry. Also, they make a lot of vegan options! If you are looking for some simple donuts, this is definitely the place!

I've been wanting to try this place, especially since I've heard he will do vegan donuts on Saturday. I guess he had a lot of requests today and he made more for Sunday! It's a one-man shop and the owner is so friendly and nice. It's a small shop, decorated with drawings and such from customers. And the donuts are AMAZING! I got two half-dozen boxes of vegan donuts and it came to $18. It was a 40-minute round trip for me to come here but it's totally worth it!!

Just as delicious donuts without the cost of more well known places in town. Super friendly and an excellent selection. Would get diabetis again here.

What a gem! Delicious doughnuts you can tell quality made, real chocolate and strawberry frostings. But what really made the experience was the customer service. The cashier was super friendly and attentive to the kiddos. Thanks for making our morning :)

A co worker brought in donuts from here. I was in shock at how amazing the donuts were...especially the apple fritters! I plan to make this a go to when I need a donut fix for sure!

I ordered an assortment of their vegan donuts for a work event and everyone commented on how tasty they were. A few people asked me where they came from. They were fluffy and had tasty icing just like you'd expect from a regular donut. Vegan donuts are only available on Saturdays now. If you have a big order and call ahead they might make them for you on a different day of the week. The person I talked to was super nice and helpful. Finding location and parking were easy.
