Donut Taco Palace I

This place has the best name ever. Walked over when I was having new tires put on nearby and grabbed some breakfast tacos, donuts and donut holes. All super solid. Homemade salsa red and green came with the tacos and it was so good I bought a mason jar of it they sold to go.

In my order of assorted dozen donuts that I bought to share with my coworkers, my coworker found a long wire Bristle from a scrub pad (steel wool) in her glazed donuts. Yeah thanks for the refund but it is still unacceptable and Neglection on your part. The only good that came from visiting your establishment was that no one was hurt. Especially the mom with two young sons that were in line, in front of me. Literally my first time visiting and most likely the last Yall should make a thumbs down donut

It's always a pleasure getting donuts or tacos here. They are always friendly. Get there early for the best selection as this place is very popular and runs out. I'm glad I came here today as they had some cute New Yeas donuts.

So many options. The breakfast tacos were very good. Loved the salsa. Living in Europe I have so missed a classic glazed donut. They nailed it. Just what I needed. Endless other breakfast options. Counter staff was very pleasant and patient as we made our selections. Coffee is average. Overall value in pricing as well.

I come here all the time and I grab food and coffee and then sit inside to try and get some school work done. But every time I do that all the employees just keep staring at me and keep walking past me very closely. It's very uncomfortable like they don't want me in there. And I always spend money there and I'm always polite. UPDATE..... I GOT TWO BURNT GLAZE TWIST. I always get glazed twist, and they never look this dark.! Update. i posted a review about me picking up food for my co-worker.

Friendly, delicious and fun experience. In from out of town for three days and went twice-yummy! The second day we found more donut options earlier in the day. We enjoyed the kolaches and donuts, and we tried the tacos down the street the final day at Madrone Coffee - a fun surprise.

Be very careful ordering tacos under the heat lamp. It’s a breeding ground for food poisoning. Just recently bought three tacos that were under the heat lamp they were about to close. That night I became very sick. It has lasted days now. The only thing I ate differently than my wife all weekend pretty much all week. They told me they keep it under the lamp set very high in temp, which is a bad no-no, that increases the rate of pathogen growth by doubling or tripling in a short time. Have them make your tacos fresh don’t order the tacos

Opens very early so you can get your favorites and still arrive to work on time. Tons of doughnut and great breakfast taco options! Easy access off of freeway and easy to order online for pickup.

A lovely neighborhood spot with amazing tacos AND donuts (and more!!!)-- what's not to love? Great service; we got some bean and cheese tacos (amazing!!), and the staff mentioned that you can build your own taco and even add veggies from off the menu. Will have to come back and try those; as a vegetarian, that is rarely an option for breakfast tacos, so super excited to hear that. Decent amount of parking in the lot as well. The hook 'em donut is iconic!

I don't know what you are saying in your response. There were no chocolate donut holes ordered, given or available. We didn't eat all the yeast donut holes, we actually took 3 home. I'm afraid you're making accusations that have no merit. I don't know you, don't remember you and don't come in enough for you to make the comments you made. I don't smiler- I don't even know what you're talking about. Maybe you should smile and try being more friendly and nice. Your response further supports the lack of customer service you provide and your lack of business sense for that matter. Why do you resort to attacking a customer? So sad we've come here for years with out girls and even got a special order for birthday donuts. But after todays visit I'll have to find some place else. Got some donut holes and the "blueberry" were hard and dry. When I asked for them to give me something else she rudely said that's what I picked and she wouldn't trade them out. I've never been to a business that was so un-customer friendly. It was literally 5 donut holes, part of an order with many other things for my 2 kids. Just a complete turn off.

I've been here twice and they've messed up my order or gave me something burnt. I was not intending on going back due to the service. But my co-worker asked me to get here something since I was already out getting breakfast. I went there this morning for the final time to pick her up food but instead the owner was rude and mad about my google review, I let him know I wasn't here to get food for myself since I got food from Austin java way better. I'm here to get food for my co-worker since I'm gout and about this morning. He said he didn't want me back at the establishment, so I wasn't going to argue and I left. The owners voice the entire conversation was loud and rude. So a heads up for anyone that makes a bad review about this place they will treat you different and be loud and rude.

Awesome morning stop. Great breakfast sandwiches and donuts, pretty good coffee, but I've never had the tacos.

I stopped in here a few weeks ago to pick up some donuts for my sister's birthday, and was really excited by how many different options they had available! We live near to the area and had always heard how good the food here was, so my sister has wanted to check them out for over two years now and a birthday seemed like the perfect time to celebrate with some donuts! They had some fun, brightly colored donuts, as well as the standard flavors I'm more used to seeing. I've never seen jelly-filled donut holes either, but my sister ended up really liking them. Seating is pretty basic with a few bench/booth styled seats, and it was a bit limited with space, but there was plenty of parking and donut shops are always more of a grab-and-go place than a sit-down restaurant. The donuts were decent, but my sister still prefers Shipley's donuts, as the cake itself was a bit denser and less sweet than the donuts we grew up with. Totally a personal preference when it comes to texture and flavor, but the icing also wasn't as flavorful as she'd expected. Service was fast and friendly, and the donuts were good - just not the best we've ever had. Also, there are no gluten free options, so this is not a Celiac-friendly place (although zero points off for that - I knew they didn't have gluten-free baked goods when I came here!)

I was a few minutes early for my lash appointment next door when I saw what seemed to be a revolving door going in and out of this donut place. I'm not a huge sweets fan but the sign also said tacos so I went for it. The line was out the door and for good reason. The donuts "looked" amazing and my taco was great!! I don't live particularly close to this place but would drive over for another taco. The hours are great too. They are open every day 5 am to 1 pm. The kids looked happy going in and out the door. It seems like a fun Saturday morning tradition. If I had kids, I would take them here!

Cheap and cheerful breakfast... old fashioned donuts especially. A great pop-in pop-out kinda shop to start the day, whether for yourself or to be the hero of the office by bringing in a box of goodness. The bright cases are filled with trays upon trays of fresh donut goodness, with a great variety to pick from. Little bit of everything in beverage selections from behind the counter and fridges. Service is dry and straight forward, all the warm sticky sweetness went into the donuts (obviously).

My new favorite donut place in the area! It's never busy (which is honestly weird considering everything is so good). Tried the tacos for the first time today and they're pretty good. I tried the potato, egg, and cheese; I'd give it a 7/10 The salsa on the side was very interesting, it gives the taco a brand new flavor (in a good way). It's a really good establishment that's worth the try :)

Quick and fast tacos and donuts to feed a crowd. Came by to pick up for the family and stood in a short line but they got us through fast. Tasty breakfast tacos and delicious donuts! Big giant kolaches with fluffy rolls. Try the Apple fritter!!

Oh my gosh I thought this place was fabulous, if I ever need to get donuts again I'm definitely going to come here. Super affordable. They have a great variety. They also sell kolache's and tacos. 10/10

Donut Taco Palace....a name that definitely intrigues you as you drive by. Thats why we decided to make sure we stopped on our travels in the Austin area. This was in close proximity to our hotel and we kept seeing it daily. Our front desk lady at the hotel also recommended this spot when we brought it up. We saved our visit for the final day of our trip and I'm a bit sad because we likely would have returned. We arrived to a huge line that stretched outside the doors. The line moved very fast and efficiently. The workers here know what they are doing! We both tried 2 donuts. I'm very picky about donuts and they passed the test. They also offered breakfast tacos, plenty of drink options, some pastry options thar were not donuts. It was legit! Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area and craving a good, affordable donut.

This place is truly the best of both worlds. The donuts are great, and so are the breakfast tacos! I recently moved to the area and this will be my new go to breakfast place!

11:10am Saturday morning. Ordered two bacon, egg, cheese and bean tacos and one bean and cheese taco. Gave us the two tacos in their bag and said we needed to wait for the one taco. Paid just under $10 and stepped aside to wait. Waited 17 minutes for that taco, then left. One would think the simplest of tacos could be made relatively quick. Found out later, no beans in the two bacon, egg, cheese and bean tacos. Didn't request a receipt, so don't know if they charged for the beans.

For just $2/each you can custom order your own set of donuts for any occasion at Donut Taco Palace! They're also known for their signature Rock & Roll donut which for legal purposes isn't a "hook em". Uh huh. ;) I placed my order in advance and damn these were beautiful AND delicious! I smiled as soon as I saw them, they were done so well!! You can pick what type of donuts, color, toppings, etc. so this really makes for a great way to celebrate! Highly satisfied. 5/5 for sure!

Don't order from here unless you plan to have a "simple" order and won't question the employee on anything. I've ordered very large orders from here on UberEats, over $100 each time, and on one order I got an assortment of 3 different donut holes (in addition to a lot of other food--3 large boxes total and a couple bags). It appeared to us that we were missing chocolate donut holes, so I reported it to UberEats as people do because restaurants often leave things out. After a few minutes we realized that the chocolate holes looked exactly like the blueberry holes and they were all thrown in together which made it hard to distinguish, so we did have them after all. Great right? I immediately reopened the UberEats chat and said false alarm, we have everything, no need to refund us. UberEats responded back and said oh good glad to hear, no problem at all you can keep the 4 DOLLAR UberCash refund on your $133 order because of the delays in your order (I ordered the food between 9-10am priority and it didn't get to me until 12:47 pm so actually the $4 didn't even cover the priority fees I paid). Fast forward to today, I place a $152 order, it gets accepted, the delivery driver is there to pick it up, and then the order gets cancelled and UberEats sends a message that there was an issue with delivery, we can reorder if we want. So we call the restaurant to be sure before we reorder and the employee answered and said that SHE personally refused the order because "it's too complicated" and that we said we didn't get the 3 dollar donut holes out of $100+ dollars worth of food 3 weeks ago and "it's not fair" and she has photo evidence that she packed it all. WHAT?!? You're really suggesting I'm trying to pull a great $3 heist while spending over $100, and Uber and I have the chat logs where I told them I got them and they weren't missing and didn't need a refund? Okay then. So I guess if I were in the store and walked back up to the counter and said "hey I don't see the donut holes? And then they point them out, and I say oh okay my mistake thank you" I would be blacklisted too? This is a bizarre, petty, nonsensical issue that clearly this person has been brooding over all month for what reason, idk! I'm not sorry for making sure I got everything in my order and then reporting back that I did, and it's weird to me that doing so would be an issue. Wouldn't suggest doing business here, as clearly they are going to make what should be a simple transaction into some sort of perceived personal attack. Just go to any other donut spot honestly.

Breakfast tacos are delicious and a lot of food per taco!! Very good value with good portions - loved the egg potato and sausage and be sure to add their salsa on top. A fav quick stop.

Breakfast tacos and salsa are amazing!!! The apple fritters and the chocolate filled long John are amazing also!!! Make sure to get there a bit early, the inside of this place is small and can get a bit crowded after certain hours of the morning but the line moves pretty quickly. They also sell their delicious Green and Red Salsa in jars which is delicious on everything. I miss this place alot now that I moved to Round Rock :/

Donuts & tacos all in one place?! Yes plz! The menu is huge and affordable. I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious everything was. We got 7 different tacos. I appreciate them labeling each one. My favorites were their breakfast Chorizo + the lunch Barbacoa. Their salsas are so good with just enough spice. By default, they use a flour tortilla but you can replace it with corn for just 25¢. We also tried the Strawberry + Cream Cheese Kolache, Blueberry Glazed, Maple + Coconut, Lemon Filled + the Apple Fritter. They're not gourmet but they sure are flavorful! My bf + I are so glad we discovered this place. It's def gonna be our regular go-to for brunch :)

This place is great! I cannot believe how good their donuts are! And my friend got 3 different types of tacos, and he thought all of them were absolutely delicious! I personally like the different variety of donuts they have as well...they were all good! It was busy when we went, but they were fast. I may have to make a little commute to return as I live in north Austin...but it will be worth it!

We stopped by here in August during covid and had a good experience. Everyone was masked appropriately and there is a limit on the number of people inside. I see a lot of comments on here about service but that was not an issue for us. The whole idea of the place is fast and cheap so... yeah. Come early as donut variety will dwindle. We had a variety of donuts, kolaches and breakfast tacos and were pleased with everything. Every item was generally under $1.50. Stop by for a quick, cheap breakfast.

Easy to order custom donuts online. I wanted a "10" for my kids birthday with donut holes around it and was able to easily ordered this online.

This will not be a great review. Let's start with the good. They were delivered when requested and they were able to get everything in one box. On with the rest. Let's start with the cinnamon rolls. Not a lick of cinnamon on them. Any cinnamon roll I've ever had there was cinnamon rolled in it. Hence the name Cinnamon Roll. No cinnamon to be found. Just a glazed donut cut into a swirl. Next Cinnamon Sugar donut holes. Again no cinnamon. Is there a cinnamon shortage I'm not aware of. Finally Strawberry filled donut holes. Gross! So much filling. Just a blob in your mouth when you ate it. I would compare it to eating a big spoonful straight out of the jar. Making it worse I ordered them through Uber Eats making everything nearly twice as expensive. This will never happen again.

I order from the one on 290, they have the best breakfast tacos, red salsa and the most incredible apple fritters I have ever had. They have a huge variety of tacos and donuts. Also croissant sandwiches, donut sandwiches

If they would care enough to get online orders correct, this place could be great. Unfortunately they get orders wrong and if you call to sort it out the lady will just tell you to deal with it. Apparently if they give you the wrong order you're just supposed to be happy you got anything at all. Piss poor customer service.

Bury me at Donut Tacos Palace with a few of their donuts and breakfast tacos please. For real. Like others have said, this place has a no-frills vibe. Always people coming in and going out, and lots of cops stopping in to grab their stereotypical morning donut. The donuts aren't the best donuts that you'll ever have in your life, but they're pretty darn good and perfect to brighten up a bleh Monday morning. Their breakfast tacos are super YUM and they have literally brought me BACK TO LIFE the morning after a long night out. Staff has never been anything but kind to me, but they are often very busy. Great selection of drinks to accompany your donut/taco/kolache and prices are very reasonable. All I'm saying is that if you're looking for a local, neighborhood donut spot that is going to give you good vibes and good donuts and tacos, this place is IT. Give it a try!

The people working at the shop were so kind even when we came near closing. They gave us DONUT TACOS and it turned out to be amazinggggg. Great vibes and really nice local business.

I never knew I wanted a breakfast taco and a donut combo before now! I ordered a dozen glazed donuts and a couple of migas tacos! Everything was super fresh and tasty! I love both separately but now have a whole new appreciation for the combo. Can't wait to try out their other items!

I feel like Stefon from Saturday night live describing this great little place. It has all of the usual suspects there, donuts, kolache's, breakfast tacos and just about anything you might want to wash them down with. I like the fact that they have custom made donuts for example you can get a thumbs up or a hook them horns donut that's right plenty of variety. Grab a couple of dozen donuts on your way to the office and and watch the smiles happen.

I'm from a suburb of Chicago. I heard about this place from a Shiny Ribs song named Donut Taco Palace. Once I found out it was a real place, I had to go there. We visit Austin often, I went there today 4/14/23. We sampled almost everything they had on hand. My wife and I loved the food and the shop, made me happy being there. I ended up buying a shirt for each of us because sampling all the food just wasn't enough. I will come here every time I come back to Austin.

Not sure why the ratings are so low but this place is a really no frills gem! The donuts and dough are high quality (strawberry donut had actual strawberry in it), the kolaches were also really good and the croissant sausage roll was enjoyable. Can't wait to come back and try way more stuff

You would never know from the outside, but this place has amazing donuts and breakfast tacos. Go early to get the best selection because they sell out fast!

Just got a dozen donuts. And I was blown away. I never thought they have good donuts but either they changed or I didn't actually try them. Probably because I got their other yummy food. But it's a perfect donut. Not too sweet but with sweet toppings and such. Try some donuts here and not just the other savory items.

Average tacos and breakfast foods, but they have great customer service and are always quick even when there's a line. :)

This was an interesting stop on my food journey. We were staying just down the road at the Marriott residence Inn and drove by the Doughnut Taco Palace and just had to stop in. We were there at about noon and many of the premade tacos were gone but I was still able to get chorizo and eggs and it was excellent! My daughter, the vegetarian, wanted something vegetarian and they made it for her custom. She loved it as well. Of course we had to try the doughnuts and I had an apple fritter and she had a glazed doughnut with sprinkles and they were very good. It's a very interesting concept and it was very busy with people eating in and coming and going with takeout orders. I did not try the coffee so I cannot comment on that but a shop like this has to have good coffee to go with the breakfast foods, I would think.

If you order online you might want to call before you go pick it up. 2nd time in a month I ordered online and when I got there to pick it up they didn't have what I ordered. It would have been nice if they called me and told me before I got there.

This place is amazing! They have tacos and donuts and even donut tacos! Donut tacos are actually a thing, and they are amazing. It's a taco with a donut in place of the tortilla! And they a huge. And taste great. The donuts are very good too. And even better than the donut taco (if that's even possible) is the super nice staff. Highly recommend this place.

Terrible service... I went in this morning to get one taco I waited about 5 mins, paid, got my taco then proceeded to leave... then the RUDE manager chased after me asking if I paid and was really close to me and my car... I told her I did she said her employees said I did not... I then showed her my bank statement and another employee came running out to tell her I did pay.. They really need to get it together.. treating me like I stole a $2 taco I told the manager I would not be returning and she rudely said "fine by me" They need some serious attitude adjustments My friend went the other day and when he paid they asked him why he did not tip .. like so rude

Their breakfast tacos are consistently delicious! Donuts are also very good with one exception: anytime I get something with the chocolate icing it tastes rancid at first then it builds up to this awful chemical taste. Totally understandable that there are off days but today was the third time I tried an item with the chocolate icing and it always has that awful taste. So maybe avoid the chocolate icing and choose maple instead.

Was hoping to have a good experience like I did at the Round Rock one off of 620 however the young lady that took my order seem to be upset that she wasn't able to continue playing the video game or scrolling through social media on her phone. I ordered a taco a croissant and an apple fritter I asked the lady if she had red or green sauce and she simply just pointed to the bag at the taco is it and she didn't say any words and I said is there a red or green sauce and then she just handed me the bag forcefully and then give me my change and I left very rude I will not be coming back to this location not even if it's the last thing on earth to eat I would rather eat the grass that grows outside into deal with this attitude

We ordered on door dash and everything was great! The tacos were basic but good. I loved the large cheese and sausage kolache. The. Blueberry kolache wasn't my thing but I'll order strawberry next time. The Belgian donut holes were amazing and I'll definitely get again

So good! We were visiting from out of town, and saw this place online. Just had to try it out. The name itself sold us. We walked in and were surprised! The place had a cool feel to it, and was rather popular by how many people were stopping in. They were moving along pretty quickly and getting people their orders at a fast pace. The food tasted amazing. We had the tacos - and would have them again! Will definitely go back the next time in Austin.

I paid over $7 for 2 overcooked/burnt cold Kolaches. They went down hill in quality and prices went way up.

My favorite glazed donut I've ever eaten!!!! And they're so cheap I love them so much!!
