Dropped by this location on a Saturday during the lunch rush and sat at the bar. The place was packed. At first glance, the place seems to have a bit of an identity crisis. It isn't just a diner, it isn't a bar, and it isn't a bakery/donut shop. It's kind of all of those things at once and some of the quality seems undercut because of its broadness.
For example, there are 4 different TVs playing sports at all times for some reason. It makes the place noisy visually and sonically. Also, the food is...ok. The hash was tasty (salty, maybe a touch too much acid than I'm used to in a hash but good). My toast came out cold, which was strange for toast. The donut wasn't much to note, which was the saddest part of all because I love a good donut. The glaze was sweet and not heavy but the dough itself was dry and bordered on grocery store quality.
I can't say I'd want to return. The place is new so it may be finding it's footing still. But, for a new place, some things feel very dated. For instance, the cappuccino/latte machine was down. Seeing it behind the bar, it is clear the machine is about 10 years old. No wonder it didn't work.
In all, this is clearly is an environment that would suit the whole family and it's menu is extensive; there is a whole, surprisingly large vegan menu! It's simply not for me. I like good donuts too much.
