"This little red barn of a shop serves golden doughnuts fried fresh throughout the day. Fill up a dozen with flavors like cherry cake, coconut cream, and blueberry cake. Plus, this shop serves doughnut holes to fill the craving." - Rebecca Roland, Nick Townsend, Eater Staff

Comfortable atmosphere, clean and in a great area. The donuts are delicious the cake is cooked to perfection, the filling sweet and flavorful, and we ate the box in its entirety. Definitely need more than a dozen next time!

Google
I'll be honest I rarely give donut spots anything less than a 4 star. Let me tell you why, this place was actually super busy popping out donuts like they were cheeseburgers at a Wendy's drive through. However when you mass produce donuts let's face it you miss the Love that some donut spots have. This was one of those places.. We had a cinnamon roll with maple icing and it was the most unbalanced version I've tried. the roll aspect of the donut was so thick and dense it was just not what I would say is top notch. If you want a great version of this the jelly donut in grants pass is the best at this. The location was clean, and offered plenty of seating and parking. The donuts though that's why you come here we're just so so, they didn't really set themselves apart from a store bought donut for a buck. Now they did have a ton of donuts so if you are wanting volume that's a great place to get a mass amount for an office or something. Now they don't take American Express or Discover cards. Kids were also on the same page with the cinnamon roll we tried.

Google
Liked this little donut shop. The donuts were good, the place was really clean, they have a large drink selection, and the prices were reasonable. Have patience with the employees though because they have to try and talk to you behind a wall of glass, it’s pretty hard to hear each other. I’ve had better definitely still good enough come back!

Google
this dude shawn saying they taste like store bought donuts is crazy. These are the best donuts in town. anytime I pass by this place they’re working hard in the back preparing donuts. They are delicious donuts. as well as the service. Crazy to even compare store bought dry donuts to this place. 10/10 donuts. YOU DESERVE A DONUT!

Google
From Minnesota, in town visiting family. Got to church too early Google’s donuts near me and this popped up!!! So glad, these were delicious! So fresh! Great selection, tasty coffee and other beverage choices. Nice clean place to enjoy them. Make sure to stop, you’ll be glad you did!!!

Google
Excellent donuts! Awesome and friendly staff!

Google
Very good fresh donuts. They don't make crullers every day, just on certain days which is a bummer. A dozen donuts cost nearly 20 bucks. Nice employees!

~Hidden Gem Of Gresham~ Over the many decades, I have gone to countless donut shops in different states & countries. I have to say that this particular donut shop is the absolute best of them around. It is a small, family owned shop with many varieties of donuts made fresh, in-house daily. Even as the economy shifts and we see inflation / shrink-flation everywhere we look, the owners of this shop have only increased their prices over the many years by a minimal amount just to combat the supply price skyrocketing. Rather than the average shop that went from $1 donuts to $2 donuts in 1 year, this shop will see a mere fraction of that increase. As for the waste (or 'food loss') at the end of the day, there is NONE! They properly package and secure any and all unsold donuts from the day and sell them at a severely reduced price the following day. This way, if you don't have that much money to spare but want a nice treat, you can spend a mere $3.60 and get a big bag of donuts! × Overall Scoring × Price = 5/5 Parking = 5/5 Cleanliness = 5/5 Friendliness = 5/5 Quality = 5/5 Speed Of Service = 5/5

Yelp
I have been coming here since I was a kid. Such a staple in gresham. The cashier has been working there for 25 years and is always the sweetest ever. Definitely a must go to when in gresham. Places like this make me love where I live. Plus the design on their boxes are the cutest ever! Thank you for staying open Donut World you're the best.

Bianca D.

Yelp
The selection so soooo tiny for a place called Donut World. Picked up a half dozen goodies to try and was so disappointed in everything! These donuts aren't fluffy or delicious at all. They just don't have that good donut mouthfeel. Their donut holes are also lacking. They only do cake donut holes, so there's that. The people working the counter don't really seem to know much about the donuts. Asked for a glaze twist and they threw a sugar twist in my box. Asked for some glazed donut holes and they threw chocolate donut holes in the bag.. Place itself is pretty small. Stepped in for donuts because the building looked pretty cool but didn't expect to be so disappointed by the product.

Yelp
Haven't had a cinnamon roll in quite a while, and I ordered a coffee. Cinnamon roll was good, but the coffee was a bit warm, though it was late in the morning. They have good service,, good turnaround. I recommend it..

Yelp
I don't think I gave this review enough time and details the first time around. This is my neighborhood, donut spot, and I am a diehard fan of donut world. It's the donut I grew up on the classic nothing made from scratch tubs of frosting and donuts at the price point donut should be almost free. I'm a huge fritter fan, I love the classic fritter nothing too fancy nothing too over-the-top just a difference in ingredient. They have apple and cherry here though I wish they had blueberry and pineapple but they don't for that. I might have to die and go to heaven-ly donut. We come in here about once a month usually on the way home from the gym and I want to surprise the kids do something fun. I always remembered getting donuts as I grew up they were always from the same generic donut store down the street and I absolutely loved it and all the joy that $.50 brought. I do want to say you should come in and try this, classic from the outward appearance to the inside charm a piece out of my childhood

Kam G.

Yelp
Can't go wrong with this place. My wife loves it. She had a craving for apple fritters. I have to say if I could have them I would have ordered 5 for myself. She got two of them for $5!!! That's an amazing deal. Plus with a line out the door the service was quick. We didn't wait for more than 5 minutes (I didn't time it but it was quick). Also love seeing the doughnuts being made while you're waiting in line to order them. Keeps things interesting. Fairly clean area. Not a whole lot of parking but wait a bit and people who are just picking up with leave quickly. Definitely worth a stop here.

Robert K.

Yelp
Awesome place friendly staff. Parking plentiful. Donuts are very delightful to the pallet

Rudito B.

Yelp
Second time here! Wowie-wow-wow. Got a dozen this time. Today is Saturday and I don't diet on the weekend. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Pretty sure we will be back. (We'll be back)

Yasmin O.

Yelp
I loveeee to get a dozen donuts every time i go because ik once i get home, they'll be devoured quickly, and theres only two of us, lol

Jenna M.

Yelp
A Gresham treasure! Donut World has been around for as long as I can remember, always fresh donuts, and super nice staff, and even gives back to the community. They are much better than what else is around. I visited for Donut Day, first thing the am. I got the sprinkle cake, coconut cake, and the apple fritter (total under $5). I took them to go and My car filled with yummy donut smell (freshly baked) and I scarfed the two cake ones down instantly. They were so damn good. The fritter was for my husband and still was fresh into the evening! - he loved it! Pretty good prices, too. Hours are: Monday-Saturday 5am-4pm and Sundays 6am-4pm! The staff was wonderful and helpful. They had rules in place for Covid, only to-go, but everything went smoothly and quickly. I believe they were close for the last few months, but I'm so happy they reopened and I could go support! Must stop in if you're in the neighborhood!

Kelly W.

Yelp
Absolutely my favorite donut shop in the Portland area. I will drive to Gresham from Clackamas for them. Way better than Voodoo. Their blueberry cake donuts, Bavarian cream, and cherry fritters are stand outs. The staff is so friendly. It doesn't matter if I go at 9 AM or 2 PM, the donuts are always fresh and delicious.

Amber M.

Yelp
Love hole-in-the-wall places that don't charge an arm and a leg. Reasonable prices and friendly staff!

Honcho E.

Yelp
great donuts, great value, superb service. a gem place is clean and spacious, with plenty of seating. nothing trendy or in your face; it reminds me of shops back east. donut and coffee offerings are pretty standard for donut shops nationwide. the donuts themselves are really tasty and not expensive. service is super fast and friendly. when i took my to go bag to sit down, the man working the shop (owner?) walked over and offered me a basket and let me know where the coffee add ins were. if you wanna be in and out fast with a box full of great donuts, without breaking the bank, go here. edit: while id put my phone down to finish my coffee, a lady came in asking for 3 of a donut they clearly only had one left of. instead of turning her down, he offered to frost the other two for her right there on the spot. and he did, at no extra charge?? w h a t

Yelp
Maybe I'm picky, maybe it's because I'm not a sweets person and before I waste calories on doughnuts I want to have them be super special... I just thought this place was good but not amazing. There is a line to get in... so that also built the store up to me... we waited. I thought maybe they'd be low on doughnuts but they had racks of them they could still put out... so quantity planning wise. Great job... you get a star! Service was uber friendly and attentive. Extremely patient with us as we ordered and slowly added to our order... you get a star! Place was clean... and attractive inside as a cute little joint to grab a doughnut. Lots of people walking out with boxes.... pricing was reasonable... all of that... you get a star! Honestly I would just give them 3 stars based on doughnuts alone because they were honestly simply average as far as doughnuts go... but the extra points above put them into 4 star category. Service alone can get you extra points in my world!! I was so excited to try the Cherry fritters... they were ok but simply not enough cherries in them... and not enough crispy yummy dough... it was too much puffy dough for a fritter in my book...lol The maple bar was ok... we asked for extra maple which they heartedly slathered on for $.50 more... it was definitely better with more maple. They certainly earned an extra star for one reason alone... they have blueberry cake glazed doughnuts!!!! My freaking favorite that can be somewhat elusive. They also have cherry cake. I got all these BUT let me tell you I haven't tried them all. If anything stands out I will update my review.

Yelp
This is the best donut shop in all of Portland unfortunately they had to raise their prices recently and I was rather unhappy to find that a single donut now costs $1.50

Jennifer L.

Yelp
The donuts are always fresh and the service is always amazing. One of my favorite donut spots.

Lisa T.

Yelp
Just a quick in and out. The doughnut was good. Strong smell of Pinesol and I'm sensitive to cleaners. I appreciate that it was nice and clean though!

Brianna W.

Yelp
Very soft and fresh donuts. My family and I have been going for years! speedy service and good prices.

Melody M.

Yelp
Everyone was very nice! I'm a donut snob and these were too doughy for me. Seemed like a lot of bread and's no really apples in the fritter.

Firstname L.

Yelp
They used to have frosting covered rolls made with yeast, and the whole shop had this nice yeast fragrance. No more. I think they cut costs and time by moving to a non-yeast dough or mix, and they no longer even offer these rolls. The old dough mixers are still visible although they appear to be unused. Pleasant staff.

Hilary B.

Yelp
Great place to stop for donuts on the way to Mt. Hood with quicker service and easier parking than anything in Sandy. Super soft glazed and cinnamon sugar twisters with a classic selection of other yeast or cake donuts. We saw fresh Apple fritters being made behind their glass wall. To-go only now.

Leah R.

Yelp
It is our first time to go here! Love the place.. it is kept clean! The person who greeted us was very accommodating and patient with us while we decide... When it comes to the donut display it is clean and customer ready! Their prep area is clean! The restrooms are clean (gender specific)!!! Also, they accept tips, unfortunately i don't have cash or coins with me; so I decided to give them a review! We will definitely be coming back here!

Thay V.

Yelp
Who doesn't love a good donut! This is one of the smaller pastry shops that serves donuts, pastries and coffee. Located off Burnside in Gresham you cannot miss the big red building that oddly looks like a barn. They have a small private parking lot located in the front of the building. The shop is clean and well maintained and the workers there are friendly and always happy to help. It is about $12 for a dozen regular donuts. We come here mainly for the maple bars and donut holes. The maple bars are good here with the right amount of topping and the bread is not overly firm or hard. The donut holes are perfectly sized and moist on the inside. They also make apple fritters and other types of pastries you would find in most bakeries. Love the fast, friendly service and the prices are reasonable as well.

Tenley H.

Yelp
Went here with my daughter after school, was so surprised to find fresh, fluffy donuts at 3 pm! Prices can't be beat (about $1.50/donut) and way cleaner than a lot of donut shops. Super friendly service, too.

Susan L.

Yelp
I have long loved these donuts. First time back since the pandemic......boy I was very disappointed. Drove all the way from Tigard to enjoy their world class apple fritters and other tasty treat. The fritters both cherry and apple had almost no fruit. The buttermilk bar was so hard I have to believe it was day old. The raspberry jelly filled only had a teaspoon of jam. On a positive note the apple spice donut was excellent. But I doubt I will be making the trip from Tigard again.

Seth G.

Yelp
This doughnut shop is the real deal! They open at 5 am. You walk in to the smell of fresh doughnuts and see someone rolling dough for more right in front of you. The doughnuts are so delicious. Perfectly chewy and crunchy in all the right places. The coffee is great and the employees are really friendly. It doesn't get any better than this place!

Anna L.

Yelp
Last time I go here. There was hair all over. I didn't want any extra keratin with my breakfast.

Ray V.

Yelp
I don't get out this way much, but each time I've stopped here I have always found their items to be fresh and good. Even later on in the day they still have managed to retain their freshness. Easily one of my top 10 donut purveyors in the Portland area. Warning: if you enter from Burnside there is a big dip from the street to the parking lot that can bottom a car out.

Jme G.

Yelp
Old school, unpretentious donut shop. Love the buttermilk dipped in coffee! Great service and selection.

David O.

Yelp
Donuts were not very good. Perhaps the oil used for frying was stale or the dough was not properly mixed

Genevieve K.

Yelp
Coincidentally stopped in on National Donut Day. The smell of pastries as you enter the building is amazing. I ordered an Apple bear claw, apple fritter, Boston creme, cinnamon roll and cinnamon sugar twist. I started off with the Boston Creme and it was the best donut I have ever tasted. Dough was fresh and crispy, but soft on the inside. After that, I tried the apple fritter with every intention of stopping after just one bite. Between my boyfriend and I all of the pastries were completely devoured.

Kenneth Z.

Yelp
I've been to several donut restaurants or donut shops around Portland and some of them have icing that taste like it was made from pure sugar it's not right and the cake part of the donut is not fluffy or lighter what I would want. But this place is consistent they have the best cake donuts and the best chocolate icing any place in Portland

Justin E.

Yelp
First time at Donut World today. Was greeted by a very nice young lady. I got a dozen donuts for a very reasonable amount of money and was pleasantly surprised at how delicious they were. Will definitely be returning.

Kelly S.

Yelp
Solid 4.5. Great donuts. Had a sweet tooth for something cakey ( it's a real word...promis) and sweet, so we decided to stop in and give them a try. So glad we did! Best powdered donut I've had in a very long time, and the donut had a great cakey (remember, it's a real word) consistency. When in Gresham, and you're craving a good donut, point your car in this direction and come on in and get you a donut! CHEERS!!

Kelly B.

Yelp
Not very good donuts very rude every time I've gone there wouldn't recommend donuts aren't fresh

Esther Z.

Yelp
These donuts are actually incredible. And the older guy that was working there was really sweet. More people should come to this place!

Rebekah M.

Yelp
I used to go to this place when I was a kid, I don't live in state anymore but I miss their donuts and can't wait to come back and see what they have to offer! I def recommend this place for fresh donuts.

Jo V.

Yelp
Wow, all homemade donuts? Never heard of such a thing. Fresh and delicious, plus super friendly service. Highly recommend!! Hard to make a decision, everything looks amazing!

Lori B.

Yelp
We live in Mosier with no decent donuts in sight. We just stumbled upon this place by accident and are hooked! Great donuts with great flavor! We will drive to Donut World for our donuts from here on our!

Stephanie E.

Yelp
Tried this place twice to give them the benefit of the doubt. Service is ok but their donuts are not soft or fresh. Won't ever stop again.

Teresa A.

Yelp
Since moving from southern California, I haven't found a simple mom and pop donut shop. Those are the best! Back home anyways. I decided to give this place a try. The girls who helped me were sweet. The donuts, were bland and very heavy. I'm used to the light and airy ones. Will definitely not be going back. Guess donuts are not a thing here in Oregon. The one star is for the staff.

Maryia S.

Yelp
Soft. Fresh donuts with variety. Prices are affordable and the staff was really nice to us. Each donut we tasted was soft and fresh as we bit into it.

Pamela R.

Yelp
Have lived in the Gresham area for years, but never got around to going to Donut World. When I finally did, I found out I wasn't missing much. The person who was working the counter was very rude and made it clear that it was a huge inconvenience to wait on me. Gee, I thought employees were paid to actually work!

Anita M.

Yelp
Thee Best donuts in ALLLL donut shops in Greater Portland Area! Thank you, Daniel, for your 5 star service, too! We'll definitely be back for more delectable goodness soon!

Z C.

Yelp
Cute little red barn alongside the road! New favorite place to grab donuts. Always fresh Always Great! Prices are reasonable. Not a huge selection to pick from like other places but it's still worth it. Employees are always patient and friendly.

Kea J.

Yelp
Nice folks but poor donuts. Even in the morning they taste like they are two days old. Hard and bready, not much filing. Never moist, always dry and bland.

Amelia M.

Yelp
Best apple fritters ever! The donuts are so fresh and my husband loves the maple bars.

Dash M.

Yelp
The Donuts are fabulous and well worth the trip! Even more awesome than the incredibly yummy donuts is the social conscious of this business. They are COVID-19 savvy! Kudos to a business who 'gets it.' They require masks for customers and employees, they have social distancing in place and plexiglass to protect their employees, customers and the donuts. Thank you for caring about people as much (if not more) than making a profit. You are truly heroes during this pandemic. Thank you for keeping all of us safe while we enjoy a favorite treat!

Chris D.

Yelp
I love the donuts here, I just hope I make it to get one of their cronuts (croissant donut sooo good) before they sell out. -cheers, keep up the good work

Jazmin E.

Yelp
Iv been coming here sense I was a little girl and I swear this place is always amazing . Never fails at all and the owners are super nice

Jeri L.

Yelp
Ok so at first I wasn't impressed with the donut but loved the customer service. I got coffee and was filling my cup which emptied the thermos. One of the girls behind the counter heard it and came right over to change it out. Now for the bit of bummer. I had the apple fritter and it was dry and lacking apples so I won't get that again. However, I did get some donut holes to go and they have redeemed themselves. They are so good. I'll go back for more.
