I got so many compliments from our guests! It was hands down one of the best surprises of the entire reception! 💕🎂 On top of that, we tried their piña colada cupcakes, and WOW. 🍍🧁 They were tropical perfection: moist, flavorful, and unforgettable. I can’t wait to order a full-sized round cake in that flavor for my next birthday! What really impressed us is how well they tailored the sweetness. My husband, our friends, and I all have low sugar tolerance, so we asked them to make the cake less sweet—and they nailed it. It was perfectly balanced and flavorful. They are not just for instagrams —we actually ate and enjoyed every bite! This place is a true treasure in the Bay Area. If you’re planning a wedding, celebration, or just want to treat yourself to something special, look no further!

The best cupcakes! I've used Doodlecakes twice for a baby shower (mama-to-be was vegan and gluten free) and a bridal shower. I had multiple people come up and ask where I got the cupcakes saying they're the best cupcakes they've ever had. If you're looking for dessert for an event, look no further!

I ordered two cakes from Doodlecakes a while back for my son’s birthday. First, their customer service was incredible. I completely messed up the dates on my order form and let them know I would be happy to pay for the mistake but they told me not to worry about it - that was so nice on their part because it was my mistake entirely. When I picked up our cakes on the correct date, the staff was so kind and really went above and beyond. Lastly the cakes were absolutely delicious. Almost every person at the party asked me where I got the cake and gushed about how amazing it was. 10/10 customer service and 10/10 taste! I will only order our cakes from Doodlecakes from now on!

This place went above and beyond for my husband’s birthday cake. He has a dairy intolerance and I had a hard time finding a bakery with good reviews, great pricing , and the ability to make the cake close to the inspiration photo. I was sooooo excited to have found doodle cakes! I didn’t even have to go in person to order. Which worked out perfect for my busy schedule. I sent them my inspo pics via text and added some more details on how I pictured the end result and it came out sooo good. I ordered a vanilla cake with fresh strawberry filling. Taste was great and you you couldn’t even tell it was dairy free. Cake was moist as well. Will definitely order from here again! 100000% recommend

Edit: in the past week we've had the absolute pleasure of eating what might be the coolest (and most delicious) Hawaiian-themed cake I've ever seen in my life, and receiving some very special-delivery cupcakes that knocked our socks off. Perfect design, completely faithful to the kids show, adorable kid-friendly name customization. We're about to sit down for our youngest boy's 3 year birthday party and we could not be more pleased. Doodlecakes made our wedding cake and cupcakes. They were easy to work with, replicated images I sent. They delivered on time and most importantly everything was delicious and beautiful! Everything was gf!

doodlecakes is amazing! My sister came to Alameda to visit me for her birthday and I failed to plan ahead, but doodlecakes was so kind and accommodating even with my last-minute cake order. They managed to squeeze me in and produced a gorgeous, delicious red velvet cake that my sister absolutely loved. Not to mention, the staff was joking around laughing with us the entire time we were in the store both to order and pick up. Cannot recommend doodlecakes enough for a scrumptious cake and a fantastic atmosphere

So happy with my experience that I had to share. I emailed on Thursday to see if they could accommodate a last-minute request for a vegan cake or cupcakes. Didn’t hear anything by Friday, so I called in the afternoon. I talked to Rebecca the baker, and she made it clear that she wanted to find a way to make it work. We ended up with 18 cupcakes in my desired two different flavors that we picked up when the store opened. They were a hit with both kids and parents, and I thought the prices were quite reasonable. Based on the quality and the fantastic service, I’ll be bringing all my orders here in the future. Thank you!

I wanted to support an Alameda business for a recent event and came across Doodlecakes online. Rebekah was amazing throughout the process answering questions I had, keeping me updated on various flavors that were coming up, etc. The variety of cupcake flavors was awesome! The event guests had fun choosing what flavors they were going to eat and raved about the taste. I think my two favorites were the cookies and cream cupcake and the biscoff cookie cupcake. Highly recommend for any events you're hosting (they have regular cupcakes, mini cupcakes, cakes, etc.).

I have ordered birthday cakes and cupcakes (both regular and gluten free) from Rebekah of Doodlecakes for the past 3 years. Everything has been amazing: delicious and beautifully decorated. She is also super responsive and does great custom cakes as well. I so appreciate her care and attention to detail, especially when it comes to common allergens like nuts and eggs. It's so nice to be able to support a local family-run business that does great work and is run by such lovely people. Highly recommend.

It was okay... I wish there were more options because the cupcake windows looked a little empty but the standard cupcakes were tasty. They do have vegan options and gluten free but they aren't sweet enough to be a cupcake but that's expected if you trying to be healthy. We didn't know that some were vegan and some were gluten free so we got 2 by accident. It's in a cute little location and the vibe is pretty standard just a small shop, the service was decent. I think it's like 4.50$ per CC.

My new obsession! I've been wanting to stop by to try their vegan cupcakes. I came by today (Friday, Valentine's day) and they also had some special valentine's day treats! It is cute and welcoming inside and the person working was super helpful in showing me the different flavors. So far I have only eaten the chocolate cupcake and it was soooo good! You wouldn't even be able to tell that it's vegan and gluten free. Will definitely be back!

My husband was turning 50 so it was time to up my game with a birthday cake. Rebekah was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was super responsive, took my ideas, and turned them into 2 gorgeous and delicious cakes. If you have a special occasion, Rebekah is your secret weapon for a stellar event.

Doodlecakes may have a small storefront, but I would give it lots of kudos for service! Rebekkah was very responsive and accommodating. I also really liked their the online ordering and payment system. It was really convenient. The custom jungle cake that I ordered for my son's birthday was so adorable and cute! The cake was really moist, which we appreciated. However, it was a tad too sweet and had a little too much frosting on the outside of the cake. But, this may have just been due to the design that I wanted as it had to hold the jungle animals. I'm looking forward to my next event, so I can try some different flavors of cupcakes!

I absolutely love that they do custom orders, vegan and gluten free options. They also have mini cupcake sampler packs. Love the flavor ranges and the service! I enjoy working with them. Plus they're on a street that is right across the street from crab cove! I've walked to the beach with many a friend after walking into their adorable shop to grab a cup cake to go, to enjoy a perfect alameda day.

Doodlecakes is on Central, right next to the intersection of Webster Street, and across from the Coast Guard Recruitment office. Stopped in for a sweet snack while running errands nearby. Got the coco choco cupcake $4.25 and it was very tasty and moist, made well with good ingredients that you can taste. Some cupcakes are also made without eggs, dairy or gluten. I believe they change their cupcake flavors and designs weekly. If you opt in to their text messaging service, you can get 10% off your next order.

I have a friend who always brings cupcakes and cakes from this place and they are so good! My friend said the owners are a couple, one as the baker and the other in sales. They have creative tasty flavors and do custom orders really well. You name it they can do it- from John Wick to a vegan beer-themed cake! I've also had several of their cupcakes and they are tasty with yummy toppings and presentation. I have yet to personally order from them because they are a bit further from me and I've been spoiled by my friend who has this place as their go-to dessert spot. I know who to go to for my next custom cake!

Discovered this shop at the Alameda Art and Wine Festival and so glad I did! Their cupcakes are flavorful and moist. A week later, I was in Alameda and had to stop by the shop. Not all the cupcakes i bought are pictured as I shared with my parents. The red velvet, chocolate chip, cookies and cream and the ones with chocolate are my favorites I know it's hard to choose with all great options!

Rebekah does it again! Our lil buddy turned two and now two years in a row Rebekah has made magic on his birthday. We received many remarks not only about how it was a work of art, but also the tastiest cake they've ever had. I sent over a few inspo picks from Pinterest, and very quickly Rebekah understood the vision. The consistency of the both the cake and frosting is 10/10. Art + flavor win/win. I last minute decided to get a cake for my birthday boat, and Rebekah Scott was so sweet and accommodating to help with my request! She provided me with all the details I needed, and created this beautiful cake for my birthday. Even after closing hours, she helped answer all my questions! It was literally my first time ever ordering a cake for myself; Rebekah made the experience very straightforward and provided such kind services. Thankful she accepted my last minute request :) My friends and I all LOVED the pandan coconut cake with coconut whipped cream. Literally everyone not only devoured the cake, but asked me where I got it! Thanks so much for helping bring my vision to life for my birthday. Also, I love the name of this bakery! (I have a goldendoodle, so it's rather fitting that I ordered from here LOL)

This review is long overdue! I ordered a custom vegan Ube cake and one dozen vegan ube cupcakes for my uncle and aunt in December 2023. I haven't seen them in close to 10 years and wanted to give them something they would enjoy. I made the right choice, as they found the cake and cupcakes to be delicious. I also appreciate the wonderful customer service from Rebekah, as she was very responsive via email and patient with all of my questions. Fast forward to July 2024, I went in-store to order a Chocolate Wasted cupcake from here, and it was so delicious that I didn't end up taking a picture. The customer service was excellent in-store as it was via email. Will definitely come back when I want my cupcake fix and also for special occasions!

I was very impressed with my first experience with Doodlecakes that I got Rebekah and team again to create my daughter's 18th birthday cake. From planning to imagining what the cake would look like to seeing the final product was worry-free and such an experience. Doodlecakes got every detail right and the design blended so well with our decor. The cake was obviously yummy as expected. And Rebekah was so kind to take an extra mini cake order to surprise my best friend, on a busy Valentine/President's day weekend. I can't thank you enough, Rebekah, Thomas, and the whole team.I didn't expect to find a favorite bakeshop in Alameda.

Rebekah is so sweet and amazing just like her cakes. My grandma was turning 90 and everyone loved the cake.

Was looking for a custom birthday cake for my wife and found Doodlecakes on Yelp. All I can say is that the glowing reviews were right. I ended up filling out a request form and they got back to me the next day. The order was very straightforward, they turned it around even faster than normal, and the finished cake was gorgeous and incredibly moist and delicious. Of course, in picking it up, I was faced with their enticing selection of cupcakes and had to pick up a couple of those, too. We were blown away by the dense and flavorful cake and sumptuous frosting. Not to mention how lovely they were to work with. All in all, the birthday was a huge success and I thank my luck that they are close enough to stop by any time, but not too close...if you know what I mean.

Cutest cupcakes!!! They were a huge hit for a birthday. I was surprised how much I enjoyed the vegan options. The flavors were absolutely fantastic. Nice sweet bites, perfect bite portions. And can't forget their attention to detail in their cupcakes presentation!!! All picture worthy. Friendly service!!! There's no seating options inside it's a pick up and go vibe. Love all the inviting colors. Definitely a new favorite for me.

We ordered 12 dozen of mini cupcakes for my daughter 100 day celebration. The mini cupcakes was very well packed for easy transportation from shop to restaurant. We got 4 different flavors(cookies and cream, lemon,Ube and red velvet) flavor was great, the cupcakes were moist. Would definitely order again for another party.

Rebekah is awweeeeeeesome!!! My husband has lots of food allergies and he can have Doodlecakes cake!! Rebekah and the other young man in the shop are so friendly and fun to talk to. Their dole whip brings me back to Disneyland. They ask for what to write on the cake and give us a celebration candle for it. All the cupcakes are so cute too!! Sorry no pictures for that cause we ate too fast and forgot to let the camera eat first. Love love love to have a nice neighborhood cake bakery

It's my third time coming to Doodlecakes and will continue to come back for birthday occasions. This time I ordered a custom cake for myself! It was delicious! I picked vanilla frosting, cookies and cream cake flavor and chocolate ganache filling! I also emailed a picture of a cake I wanted them to recreate and they did just that! The place of course is adorable and cutely decorated and the customer service is always spot on. Highly recommend for ordered a custom cake for any occasion!

This review is overdue. I have popped into Doodlecakes to buy cupcakes a handful of times, and have never been disappointed. The flavors pack a punch and the cake is spongy and delicious. I've also hired Rebekah to bake a cake for 2 different parties and it's always a hit! She is creative, collaborative, and the cake comes out as beautiful as it is tasty. I also think prices are reasonable. Oh - and delivery service has always been timely and friendly. I highly recommend!

I wanted to love this place soo bad the prices are good and I they have lots of photo opportunities.. they also sale soft serve ice cream, cupcakes and cakes..I been wanting to try this place for a while.. my partners bday was approaching so I was looking into purchasing a mini cake.. so I came the guy in the store was nice and gave the best customer service..he was very informative funny and a complete joy. I purchased a peaches and cream ( which was the best one of the 3 flavors I purchased. The peaches and cream was vegan.. I also got a red velvet and Oreo.. the cupcakes were heavy and dense almost like a pound cake and lacked flavor.. the Oreo cake was oliy.. I do wanna give this place another try i really enjoyed my vegan cupcake

I came here today to grab a cupcake for my dad on his birthday. I bought him a lemon and I grabbed cookies and cream. I love cup cakes and it was literally the best cupcake I've ever had. It was so moist with a delicious rich flavor. I'd definitely come back again. I ate it so fast I didn't grab a picture but I took a picture of the lemon flavor

Doodlecakes makes delicious, creative, and not-too-sugary cupcakes. I can always find a parking space nearby, but it is in a hectic part of town. These cupcakes ain't cheap. With tax & tip (they default to 20% tip), two cupcakes were $11.50. They will put a little "Happy Birthday" plastic thingie in a cupcake for an additional $0.50 per piece. When I was run up on my last visit, I was overcharged. A line-item for soft-serve was added. It took some time for the gal serving me to figure out how to correct. Stuff happens, but perhaps some more training would be good for the new employees.

Doodlecakes inhabits the same space with a few artistic upgrades. essentially a to go model. no dine in. offerings: cupcakes, custom cakes, cake shot, slices. eats: vanilla matcha cupcake (3.25) -small essence within a moist cupcake, layered with a thin low sugar layer of vanilla matcha. no butter noticed. a plus for me. -seldom do a taste cupcakes that isn't indulged in sugar, butter.... eats: peach & cheese cake in small glass container (5) -fresh bits of peach on top, with whipped cream, "clean" layers of cake and whipped cream. -liked it, prefer a bigger portion, not possible using a small container. *not being an avid cake/cupcake fan, return is doubtful 4.5 stars would return if i had an urge for cupcakes. street parking available...

It was her first review. I hope she writes more reviews. Doodlecakes is located in the 600 block of Central Avenue, formerly the site of the Cookiebar Ice Cream. What a cute bakery decorated in pink and a hint of lavender. Even the decorations on the assorted cupcakes are cute. It has a certain charm and reminds me of another bakery in Castro Valley which specializes in macarons and other sweet treats. Outside of the bakery are two small tables and four chairs for customers to sit, relax and enjoy their sweets. Specialties: cupcakes, regular and gluten free/vegan; sugar cookies, cake jars, fancy cake jars, custom made cakes in three different sizes (4", 6" and 8") and beverages. Female employee is the baker/owner and male employee serves the customer. They are friendly and pleasant. I asked if they would be offering sugar free cupcakes. They didn't have any of those at the moment; however, the owner is working on it. I am not the only customer who asked that question. Purchase: 1 strawberry shortcake in jar, 3 cupcakes in different flavors - orange creme, carrot and red velvet. Which cupcake did I try first? Because I have to watch my sugar intake for health reason, I had 1/4 of the carrot cupcake. Icing was a tad sweet, but the cupcake was flavorful, moist and very good. Finally, I hope Doodlecakes is here to stay on the west end. It is a welcome addition to the community, as I miss the other bakery (Superhero Desserts) with their "happiness in a pan".

Was excited to support a minority owned female business in Alameda! Came on a Sunday a few hours before closing so there wasn't much left (yay for the business) so I got 7 cupcakes . I really liked the cinnamon toast one that was oh so moist. I was also given a few lemon bars for free. So nice! My toddler enjoyed the lemon bar and the cute turtle (fake) in the store. Can't wait to try the cake jars when those are available.

My sister and I had to stop by and check this new gem in Alameda. We got 7 cupcakes funfetti, chocolate, pink champagne, and red velvet. My favorite was chocolate for sure so bomb!!! For sure coming back with some friends.

I've tried multiple flavors of cupcakes and different treats from here, and nothing is noteworthy. Even my toddler who loves sugar isn't a fan, she said it's not her favorite. While the staff is always incredibly nice and welcoming, I wish the taste was a little bit better.

We ordered from Doodlecakes for our baby's one years old birthday party. The cake and cupcakes were a hit!! Rebekah from Doodlecakes is great! She will make you anything you want. I wanted a lot of stuff that wasn't in her inventory so she ordered them like the colorful foil cupcake liners. I needed 24 and it comes in 300! Just an example of how accommodating they are! All our friends asked for the details afterwards. I'm so glad we found this gem in alameda!! Thank you doodlecakes!

I ordered a GDE* free custom mini cupcake assortment, and they were SO DELICIOUS AND SO CUTE!! They were for a surprise bday treat, and everyone was shocked that they were gluten, dairy, and egg free. We don't even have gluten restrictions, yet couldn't even tell they were gluten-free. They were sooo tasty!! And almost too cute to eat! You can just tell how much thought and effort goes into the presentation! I didn't know vegan + gluten-free cupcakes could be so amazing!! I ordered the cupcakes via email, and Rebekah was really nice, very accommodating, and had great communication! The cupcakes were delivered by Thomas, who was also very nice! You just get a sense of genuine care and thoughtfulness from the team, which goes such a long way! I'm so excited I found this spot! 11/10

I first had the cupcakes from my husband's colleague. I was really amazed that the gluten, dairy and egg free cupcakes were so moist! The frosting were a bit too sweet for my taste but I was really impress with the moisture and how soft it taste. I found out the cupcakes were from this new place in Alameda. So glad there's a place in Alameda that makes gluten free cakes. My husband ordered 2 dozen for a party the next day. I think the gal that brought the cupcakes out is the owner. Very friendly and accommodating for curbside pick up. I highly recommend this place. I will definitely come back and order for parties. I can order online the night before and can pick up at 11am the next day.

This is my second experience with Doodlecakes and they came through yet again. I had a cake and some cupcakes made for my baby shower. The cupcakes were gone quickly and I got so many compliments on the cake! The cake was cookies and cream and the cupcakes were also cookies and cream with a few lemon mixed. Rebecca was very prompt to respond through email about my custom order as I don't live in California anymore. The day of pickup, I was able to come early and everything was packed up and ready to go. I got the opportunity to tell so many friends and family about them that actually live in the Bay Area. You will not be disappointed.

Cute little downtown shop with great decorations! My family enjoys eating the custom made cakes and cupcakes, and I love visiting the bakery. They occasionally have special events, like a parade on July 4 and a gaming tournament. My favorite flavors are ube, apple, and cookies and cream. Rebekah always provides the best service.

I came across Doodlecakes in an Alameda Facebook group post, and I'm so glad I did! I asked Rebekah for a custom Skyline Chili cake for my friend's birthday, and was amazed to see she achieved EXACTLY what I was imagining! My friend was blown away when they saw it :) There were many tempting flavors for a custom cake! After hearing recommendations from Rebekah about what would work best for the design (she clearly knows what she's doing), I ordered a vanilla cake with a mix of vanilla/cream cheese frosting, and whipped cream filling with fresh strawberries and blueberries. The cake was absolutely delicious--everyone at the party raved about how it was moist with the perfect level of sweetness. Doodlecakes was very communicative about the delivery as well! I was texted about any delays, and called to ensure the cake made it to me safely after I asked a housemate to receive it for me. All in all, it was easy and a pleasure to work with Doodlecakes on a custom order. I paid $110 for my 6" custom cake + delivery + tax, and it was well worth it! I'll definitely be coming back to Doodlecakes and sending my friends their way for any custom cake needs :)

Today was this bakery's 3-year celebration so I stopped in to check out the festivities. Wow, the owners are incredibly imaginative - they had a human "slot machine." I was so happy to win 6 cupcakes since their quality is so high and not readily matched in this area. I tried a sort of cupcake parfait creation with chocolate cake, decadent icing and a hazel nut topping. WOW! Maybe one of the best desserts I have ever eaten, absolutely scrumptious. The owners are extremely cordial folks as is their staff. It is a very cheerful and welcoming place. You probably won't get to see them in their celebratory hippo purple vests and bow ties as the anniversary ends this evening. But don't let that stop you trying their cakes, cupcakes & cake parfaits - you won't be disappointed.

The owners are so sweet and Rebekah responds so fast and has even taken a custom order with only a weeks notice! The service is amazing, genuine and thoughtful. They go out of there way to create exactly what you want. The cakes not only look beautiful, they are moist and flavors are so good! They really take the time to create amazing custom cakes. I won't go anywhere else. Plus the shop is so cute and holds memories for me of when my daughter use to work there when it was Cookiebar, back when she was in high school.

They offer instagram-worthy custom cakes (all occasions) and their ***amazing cupcakes saved my bacon when I had a birthday party with half the folks needing gluten-free desserts. All my guests raved about these cupcakes! Doodlecakes is the place for cupcakes in Alameda. Hours are 2pm -8pm, open Wed-Sun Best to visit the cheerful Doodlecakes store in person, it is such a boost, and parking is easily across the street in the shopping center. Tonight, I'm stopping by to get cupcakes for a dinner with my BFF. She requested them again!!!
