Dook's Burger

Airport burger for $20 bucks that lacked flavor. I tried to order at the bar because I wanted to sit down and the short Hispanic woman with the bun who worked Friday 11/1 around 1:30 pm at the bar, had a NASTY ATTITUDE just like this NASTY burger. The way she spoke to customers was absolutely not appropriate! I wanted to get her name but she walked off while talking, and I didn’t see her after that. She knew she was wrong. Busy or not, I was just trying to order food. 0/10 work on the customer service and flavor of this $20 burger. The wait should not have been 25 minutes for a dry burger with extra crispy bacon. The fries were the highlight.

Food was great but I only ordered fries and boudin egg rolls. The egg rolls were bussin!! The fries taste like they are air fried instead of dipped in hot cooking oil. Elaine was the bartender and she was very nice & polite!! She was pretty much holding it down by herself behind the bar so I expected somewhat of a wait but there really wasn’t much of a wait. I’d eat here again, and keep avoiding the burgers all the other reviews talked about.

Got food to take on a flight. Prepackaged Chicken Caesar salad said it included dressing, but there was no dressing. Made to order fish sandwich with fries came on a dry bun, no tartar sauce or anything. I was offered ketchup, but was not offered salad dressing or tartar sauce or even just plain mayonnaise. Food was hardly edible, although it would have been good with some dressing or sauce. Service was poor.

06/21/24: Poor and very slow service. Cashier was very unfriendly and acted that she didn’t want to be there. Food took a long time despite there being no line or any order ahead of me. The burger looked good, but tasted flavorless. I didn’t realize the burger was a double patty and it was way too much. The fries were okay. I wouldn’t ever come back. Too many other places to choose from to go here again.

Dooks in MSY (near B6) does breakfast right. @6:45 didn’t find much of a line. Ordered egg/cheese biscuit. Wait was very reasonable and team was friendly. Happy surprise to find home-fries in with egg/cheese biscuit. Food was hot & flavorful (biscuit was buttery and flakey!). Egg was good and topped with 1 slice of American cheese. Stop here for very solid egg/cheese biscuit breakfast at a great price (not airport pricing!!) before flying out.

Very slow service. Ordered a Dook original burger combo. It came out super super burnt. Fries tasted like they been sitting all day, funky fish smell. I noticed they sell fried fish sandwiches.. maybe they use the same oil to fry the French fries… wish I had time to replace. Discussed with the management. They said that’s the way they all are. It was so burnt. I couldn’t even bite into it. By far the worst piece of cardboard I’ve ever had in my life. Very disappointed.. I was here last month also and had no issues ..not to mention the 30 min wait for a piece of burnt meat. not to mention the front staff have NO sense of customer service or friendliness

New Orleans airport. Had the mushroom burger and fries. Was a really good meal. Fast service. Friendly folks. Will eat here again next time I pass through.

This place is very appropriately named. This was shockingly sub-par and without a doubt, the worst burger I've had the misfortune of passing through my lips. There were so many bone chunks/hard cartilage/some kind of teeth buster in both burgers my friend and I had. We had to stop eating them and just tossed them exactly where they belonged. The service was laughable. After waiting 15 minutes they told my friend they were out of chicken and just turned around. When he said something, she turned back around and was like, "what, do you want to refund?"

The NOLA was the best tasting burger I've had with a spicy New Orleans flare! I highly recommend it!

We must first acknowledge this is airport eatery, but even taking this into account, this place is in serious need of attention by management. Why am I using my most precious resource, time, to write up this review? I want to help other hungry travelers make an informed decision and to challenge the management to do better. I ordered sausage biscuit sandwich (8.75) with bacon added-on (1.50) . I also wanted potatoes so I ordered a side of potatoes for $5. The prices as you can see are somewhat reasonable. This is the only reason along with the fact potatoes were hot for 2 stars adjusted for inflation. If not, solid single star! Here are highlights of my experience which may not be your experience: - waited 28 minutes for my order - side of potatoes come with the sandwich but not clearly communicated, waste of time, money, and food - dragon fruit kombucha showed up on kiosk but they didn't have any. Didn't have time to refund so just took 2 drinks as replacement - food tasted on par with McDonald's , though the difference with Dook's was that it was not pretty, the biscuit was crumbling, bacon was all coiled to look like curly fries, The positive was that they got my order correct, no cheese and there was no cheese! Dook's management, please do better. I'll be back in June to MSY, hope to see changes.

When the airport first opened, Dook's had an excellent breakfast sandwich with potatoes. Really, one of my favorites. Well made sandwich and crispy brown potatoes. But for the last year or so, it's nowhere near the same. The sandwich is okay, but semi - thrown together. The potatoes are soggy and look almost uncooked. It's a shame since it's one of the few places that doesn't just offer coffee and muffins.

Terrible service, 25 minutes later left without the burger... should have read reviews first. Sounds like the food is just as bad, maybe I was lucky not to get it.

Not bad for airport food. The service was fast, could have been friendlier though. I ordered the sweet chilly wings and the popcorn shrimp, both were great. The wings were perfectly crispy and the sauce was delicious. Fried were good too and everything reasonable priced.

Food (cup of Gumbo and Chicken Salad) - 9/10 And only because they don't have shrimp or seafood in their gumbo which I get as it's expensive and spoils easy but their gumbo is so delicious you'll want more! Service 10/10 - sat at the bar area and charged my tech stuff and the woman server I had was fantastic! Ordered ate and out in 30 mins only because I took my time. Bar 8/10 - selection is slim but nice setup I'd come back just for the Gumbo reaux!

Not sure why it is do poorly reviewed. At the airport in SW area. Got the fried chicken with red beans & rice. It was a crunchy, full flavored nice sized breast (no bone in!). Served separately from the bowl if red beans & rice. They have a ton of burger options. Full bar. Only sweet raspberry tea :( If you are hungry and waiting for a flight this has a sit down and be served option.

Food: 6/10 Service: 7/10 Ambiance: 6/10 Food is decent, and prices are fair. It's an airport food option so keep that in mind when dining here. Sitting area at the bar = faster service there. However the servers are very attentive and made sure to continuously check in. It was not busy when I was there so that also allowed for better service. Drinks are heavy poured so it's a plus if you're indulging before your flight! They have a lot of room for seating and they have power outlets too!

Okay , it's probably more like a 2.5 and would have made a solid 3 if they had salt, pepper and napkins! I kid you not, none of these items. But I went to the bar next door and sneakily reached over. I know where they keep the napkins. I'm giving them this rating because the food did come out hot and although it's not in my top 1000 burgers, it's not in my bottom either. I just needed sustenance before getting on the plane home. On the way here I couldn't even put my tray table down. Won't go into that. So if you're up late and need some hangover food in the New Orleans airport , it's fine. I was trying to hold out for Chik fil a in Atlanta but hey , it will be dinner time by then. No pictures cause I was just hangry!

Just don't. These people are insanely rude. I was told my order would take longer than expected. When I asked how long, they said 10 minutes and I said ok that's fine. 30 minutes later, I went and asked a new lady that was behind the counter about the status of my order and she went off yelling "I don't know nothin about any orders!!" Errrr, then whey are you behind the counter? 5 minutes later, I asked for a refund, which another lady handled. Who knows if I'll actually get my money back, though. Their receipt printer was "broken". Yeah, check's in the mail.

Not sure why there are a ton of negative reviews, but I ate here during my layover and had a great meal! I ordered the fried shrimp basket which came with fries and a really good sauce. There were a ton of pieces of shrimp in the basket, and the meal was very filling. The woman working the register was friendly, and my food came out really quickly. I thought the shrimp was tasty and seemed pretty fresh. They only lost a star on the fries because they didn't seem to have an ounce of seasoning. Definitely a good pick if you want something quick and tasty!

Don't do Dooks. The hamburger was awful. The fries were good. They only had sweet raspberry tea in iced tea choices.

This is airport food and that's my expectation level. The breakfast biscuit with sausage was delicious - the egg was so fluffy! And you get a side of home fries. Definitely goes well with the Bar Sazerac Bloody Mary. Would try lunch here for sure. Wait staff was nice and efficient. All in all a good experience while waiting for my fight

We sat at the zacerah bar at the airport and they ordered their food from here ! We ordered the New Orleans burger it was nothing special but we were hungry ! Their gumbo was so good ! For airport food I was very surprise ! Our barteder Barbara made our time there so much fun and we would come back !

I was excited to eat since my plane just landed from Maryland to NOLA. We ordered shrimp basket and fish sandwich service was quick. The downside was the hair in my tarter sauce. The waitress was nice she apologized and brought me over another one. The fish sandwich bread was thick the fish was hot I just removed the top bun. The shrimp basket was delicious. Both sandwiches come with fries

I went to dooks on my break and the cashier was very rude and disrespectful I asked for the manager and the manager never came i will not go there ever again the restaurant will never get my business or keep business with an employer like that....

Whatever kind of meat they used was horrible and greasy That meat which was the Cajun burger was not real meat...the texture, everything was horrible

Had their signature fried chicken/red beans and rice and that was one of the tastiest dishes we had in Nola. Also had the fried fish sandwich on soft bun with arugula, red onions and tomatoes with tartar spread. Also very tasty. Service was friendly but it takes some time to make it so would not recommend if you have only 30 min. between flights. But everything comes out piping hot and fresh. Hands down best meal we've ever had at a US airport.

This place is terrible and should be removed from the airport. On 6-05-2025 at 6:47pm I attempted to order food at the airport location. I given the worst attitude and customer service I ever experienced in Louisiana. Please fire the staff of just rid the airport of this terrible service. They are not fit and incapable of handling the demand of consumers. See for yourself

Arrived at 10:45 and was informed no breakfast could be served. Ordered a chicken sandwich and... there's no chicken. Coffee was delivered but we had to go searching for cream and sugar. People on the floor are trying to do their job but management is poor.

I do not like to complain. However the bacon / egg and cheese biscuit I ordered was so saturated with oil it literally fell to pieces when I tried to pick it up. The hash browns were luke warm and marginal at best. Very nice girl working the counter, not her fault. Management should pay closer attention to what they are serving their customers. I would definitely not return. Again, I don't like to complain but they don't ask for feedback on their receipts so this is appropriate.

After waiting several minutes for the attendant to stop shuffling around, we were finally greeted. My niece ordered the mushroom cheese burger, no pickles. I ordered the fried shrimp basket, nope, they were out of that. Then, I ordered the fish sandwich and paid just over $35.00. Oh, wait...nope, they were out of that, too. Then I ordered the classic burger, no cheese, no tomatoes, but with extra pickles and a 2 bottles of water. Within 5 minutes I received a cold bun, a tasteless, pre-formed previously frozen lukewarm burger, 1 beautiful lettuce leaf, 2 perfectly sliced tomato slices, 2 pickle slices, 2 onion rings, a tube of mayo and ketchup in a nice and sturdy container. I tried to finish the meal, but was too disappointed. My niece took 1 bite into pickles and put it aside for later, when it was thrown out. Do not waste your time and money at this place. I had put so much hope into his name and reputation and was fooled. Not sure I will try his other new establishment.

Just Horrible. It's so extremely terrible, it's close to fraud. I mean...a burger so insultingly bad I want to report them to the better business bureau. Cold buns. Luke warm patty probably microwaved. Unmelted cheese. Wow. It feels like you got hustled eating here.... The burger is SO bad I feel like someone insulted my mom. Dooks is the first burger I've had that has pissed me off. Im pissed off by this shitty burger! F-

A cheeseburger and fries was delivered in a nice cardboard container and was very much appreciated on my flight home. It was delicious and as far as airport food goes I don't see how you could get much better than this! my first class seat mate was envious.

In the middle of the airport. Good bar seating while you grab a drink and small bites. Charging stations and tv for entertainment purposes. The wings are good and glazed perfectly. The double mimosas are poured to perfection.

Grabbed a quick bite to eat before my flight and I wasn't overly impressed by the burger. Service is quick and it didn't take long to get my good but the burger patty itself was a bit mushy. The fries were good and fresh so that was nice. I got the Nola Burger and that has creole spices and it was spicy but that's to be expected with Creole spices.the burger is also a bit messy so it's hard to eat sitting in an airport chair without a table.

Had the Nola Burger on recommendation from the girl that worked there. The flavor was excellent. Lots of seasoning worked fully into the patty itself. Fries were also good. My friend got the classic burger and enjoyed it. Would eat here again.

Ordered Chicken Sandwich and paid. Waited 5 mins to find out that the chicken was sold out.. Was given shrimp platter instead... H O R R I B L E Shrimp was pinky size and black... Ate 2 shrimp and Tossed the basket in the basket!!!!

HIGHLY recommend the Cajun spiced burger!! Delicious. Adult drinks also seem poured heavily which is nice! Service could be more attentive but is still fast!

My husband had a hamburger and said it was ok. I had the crispy fish sandwich and ate just the bottom bread, lettuce and tomato because the fried fish sandwich was literally bleeding oil! I saw the oily pattie and pressed a napkin on it to soak up the oil. When I pulled the napkin off the oil from the pattie bled out to the surface. I doubt my gall bladder could handle that much grease.

No one ever came out from the kitchen to the cash register to take orders. There's a line of about six customers. We waited about 20 minutes. The line and some other passenger came up to say they don't even bother coming to take orders here. No one even told us and there was no sign.

It was 7:45 and they said they are closed. Website says they will stay open till the last departing flight. As I'm standing in line behind 20 people trying to get an answer on why they are closing, one the workers sweeping the floor yells back to the kitchen...hey what you got left back there... a reply of oh I have all kinds of stuff you better get back here before I throw it all out. Worker at the register said it's up to the manger when they close. Our flight leaves at 10:20pm. There are literally hundreds of people in this concourse right now like (500-600) and every restaurant is closed. All the kitchens at any bar is closed. This whole airport sucks!

Service horrible at Msy airport. I had a long time to wait for flight. Thought a burger would be great. First for counter service the cashier disappeared. The chef tried to help but then there was a line. I would Table service had one waitress and she was overwhelmed. Food was not the best. I would not recommend this place. One star

Ridiculous prices - got this as it was the only thing left open at the airport. They were closing and were mad that they had to take out order. Everything else in the airport closes at 4pm! What!

I really enjoyed my meal and wonder if other folks that left reviews maybe had different expectations. I ordered the sweet chili glazed grilled chicken and it was amazing. The chicken was moist, the sauce had great flavor, and it was super filling. The fries were great too. Light and crisp. I also ordered the southern whiskey mule and found it to be really refreshing. Of course it was a little bit pricey ($13.25 for the chicken sandwich and $14 for the drink) but you're in an airport so I feel like that is fairly on par for what you'd pay at any airport restaurant. I'd definitely eat here again.

Just had the NOLA burger. I love spicy food. This was the worst burger I have ever had. It was salty and it didn't taste like meat. It was some kind of ground crap. The fries were OK, otherwise this place would deserve a zero. On top of that, it took forever to get.

This place is a travesty of airport to go grilled food. $14 for a grilled chicken sandwich that makes McDonald's look gourmet? They should be embarrassed to put this out in a food capital like New Orleans. To make it even worse, this sad Sysco chicken took 15 minutes. One thin, paltry piece of bacon. One small, cheap white bread bun. 4oz chicken puck. Light pink tomato. Shreded iceberg. Not even a sauce. Do better. Do not waste your money - I know of a better word for Dook"y" that's way more fitting.

Bought grab and go sandwiches from their QSR. So gross AND so expensive. Huge bummer.

Possibly the worst burger, I've ever had. Definitely the worst burger I've ever had to pay for. How is it possible to f@&k up beef, cheese & bread that badly. I hope these people do not cook for children at home. if so, Child Protective Services should be notified immediately!

wonderful service, and the food was delicious! 10/10! Brandon Brown and Miracle were so friendly and provided great customer service. They were so accommodating. the sweet chili wings and fries were SOOOOO good!!! And the prices are very reasonable!

Gumbo was bland. Chicken pieces were tough and there was no SEAFOOD!!!

This place sucks. Go to get breakfast it clearly says "Breakfast till 10:30" it was 10:20 so naturally I would think I can get a breakfast order in. Staff rude AF all they can say is "We on lunch now!". Learn to speak to people damn. As sorry as the other reviews are I gave it a chance and now I see why so many 1 stars. Take this place out of your wonderful airport please! It's a stain on your crisp white shirt. SMH.

Wish I'd read reviews before I sat down and ordered. The attitude of the woman at the bar should have been a tip-off also - she seemed to be bothered that she had to interact and take an order. The 3b blackened burger was dry and would have been almost tasteless if not for the pickle slices. It also came from the kitchen very quickly, the burger was slightly warm and the bun was cold. The Chardonnay was served in a plastic cup. There were real wine glasses sitting there, maybe it's covid related? However, when I sit at a bar to have a glass of wine, and pay $12.50 for a small-to-average pour, I'd like it in a real wine glass if available. Shame on me for not reading reviews, shame on you if you read them and eat here anyways!

After investing $50 and waiting for 40 minute, I was treated to an ice cold burger and fries. I didn't have time to go back to try to have them correct it. DO NOT waste your money here. Absolutely terrible!

Not even worth one star!! Prime time and they have one person in the back cooking and one person out front. This is an airport. People have schedules. UNACCEPTABLE Wait times. Won't be back!! Shouldn't take 14 minutes to get food once ordered for a burger and fries. Oh. And food looks nothing like the pictures.
