I got the Chimi-Wet. It was so good and super filling. I love how everything is vegan and made in-house. I also love the customizable options. The red sauce definitely has a kick but is bursting with flavor🔥🔥🔥👌👌👌👌 Came back for the Nachos! You can't go wrong here. Great comfort food! 👌👌🔥🔥

First off, shoutout to Sabi/Savi; he provides excellent customer service and great recommendations! Baby! Doomie’s has some of thee best, not just vegan TexMex/Mexican food, but vegan food, in general. Their plant-based proteins are spot on! I ordered the nachos(chips) and 1 chicken/pollo flauta. The nachos were a large portion, lots of toppings, lots of flavor! I added carnitas which took it to the next level! And the flauta, oh my goodness, more deliciousness. My friend was laughing at me because of my reactions while eating, so I guess it was visible and audible how much I enjoyed my food. My friend is not vegan and really enjoyed her tacos and what she had of my nachos. Doomie’s NextMex is definitely a must for whenever I visit Los Angeles! I may have to have it once more before I roll out. Amazing!

The food is good, it’s all vegetarian and delicious, pretty filling. I ordered the corn tortilla taquitos with rice and beans which I highly recommend. The workers said because they ran out of pico de gallo salsa I wanted they wanted to make it up to me by giving me a taco. Now that’s what I call customer service!

I used to love coming to this place, but I’m really disappointed with how much it’s gone downhill. I ordered the carnitas tacos plate, which came with beans and rice. The rice was good,but the beans had an odd, unpleasant taste that I can’t quite describe. As for the tacos, they were a letdown the carnitas were mushy and lacked flavor, the tortillas were falling apart, and all I could really taste was raw onion. I understand wanting to save on air conditioning, but it was uncomfortably hot inside, which made the dining experience pretty unpleasant. On top of that, the dining area felt dirty and dusty.

Legit Mexican food. Beans are a bit salty for my liking, everything else is on point. Can remove onion if you don’t like it.

The cost is pretty steep, It can easily get very expensive. The food is well worth it though. It’s difficult to find such delicious vegan food like this and anytime I’m in the area, I stop by Doomies. Costumer service is always top notch as well! Great job, keep up the excellent service.

Walked in to order on their self service kiosk. They text you when the food is ready so we went next door to the doomies home cookin' establishment. Our food was done very fast at nextmex! And oh my goodness was the portion size huge for the price. I think we spent 15 dollars for asada nachos and we split them between the 2 of us. It was very tasty. Lots of flavor and toppings! Just the way I like my nachos :) Not to mention, we were struggling to find vegan options at 11pm til we found this place. Open late!!

Hello World! This seems like very good place to come when you're high because of the heavy, savory nature of the food and the colorful vibes of the decorations. All of their meats are soy based except for the carnitas that is mushroom (delicious btw) I got the 3 taco plate w rice and beans! My taco choices were carnitas and Korean bulgogi. $21 total w/ tip after I added guacamole. You order on a mobile screen here and they'll text you when it's done. When I opened the taco box, I was bit taken aback because in the there was nothing added except the "meat" and guacamole. From their pictures, it seems like there was extras like onions, sauce, garnish, etc When I asked Devon about this, he was understanding and willingly remade the taco for me. Shoutout Devon! Overall the tacos were good flavor wise, but a little "meat" heavy. Perhaps it felt that way bc I'm used to typical meat that lies to ur body about being full If I were to come again, I'd probably go for something lighter like the chicken tenders and fries. Maybe the burrito is good. I commend the establishment for their easy ordering, air conditioning, and willing to satisfy the customers request. Also their tacos are so pretty.

Came here to get some lunch to go when I was in Hollywood today and ended up ordering two carnitas tacos. It was so meaty and scrumptious and I loved the seasonings. It was hearty and filling but didn't leave me feeling gross after eating it. The taco itself had a great texture. The service was friendly and prompt and my food came out quickly. The restaurant was cozy and clean and had a fun ambiance. Parking was very easy in the lot in the strip mall it's in. I will definitely be back to try more of their lovely food options.

I'm a chef , and I'm vegan . I expect good quality , great tasting dishes when i decide to eat out . Well this week i bet a 100$ on this place , and honestly people must not know how to cook , or don't have quality taste bu I was excited. Hungry. Hopeful. But what I got? Straight-up disappointment in takeout form. Let's start with the fried chicken--bland, weird texture, no crunch, no flavor. Just a sad, flavorless sponge. I was hyped for it too total letdown. Then came the quesadilla. Looking at the menu, it looked and sounded like the star of the show. I was like, "Okay, this one might slap." But nope. That was a bold-faced LIE. It tasted exactly like soggy cardboard. And I mean exactly. Like that weird, wet cardboard smell? That's the flavor. I gagged and spit it out immediately. Mac and cheese? Don't even get me started. It was hyped up as some updated "to die for" recipe. Well, I nearly died from the taste--liquid smoke overload and cheap vegan cheese that clings to your tongue like regret. Now, the tacos and the shrimp? Okay fine, they were decent. The "shrimp" had a good firm bite and tasted fresh. That's literally the only reason this place isn't getting zero stars (if that were possible). As for the vegan chicken--who approved this? I've had incredible vegan chicken before, the kind with crevices, seasoning, a crispy edge, and sauce for days. This one? A bland square. No flavor, no texture, no soul. I also tried the cookie and ice cream. Meh. Super mid. Wouldn't get it again. I'm a foodie, and when I see a vegan spot offering a variety, I get excited--I want to try a little of everything and see what's worth coming back for. But after this? Never again. I'll check back in maybe if they pull off a miracle. If you care even a little bit about flavor, quality, or not wasting your money--run. RUN. And those five-star reviews? Yeah... they were either paid for or written by people who lost their taste buds in 2020.

It's been awhile since I did any Yelp on NextMex. It is as colorful as my last write up 2 years ago. A fun place to see the decor of flags and walls with the Mexican theme. The one change I see is a separated section with a large yellowish marquee for The Hot Vegan Chicks brand of vegan prepared wings and sauces (see a posting for Doomie's Hot Vegan Chicks). My experiences have all been positive at NextMex and the Bean and Cheese burrito is a good one. No worries about the service as a simple hello from the counter gets the crews attention in the rear kitchen. Sure, self help with the ordering kiosk can get you off track, but there is help as in my case, if you need some. The order is quickly prepared for dining in and if you do not drink sodas, there is refillable water at the pick up counter. NextMex is my place to go get my fix for good Vegan prepared Mexican food and good service.

Ugh this place is SO GOOD!!! Carne asada burrito is chefs kiss. Please don't ever close i don't know what I'll do with my life.

Really bad service, I'm so disappointed I drove all the way from Anaheim to pick up my order around 11:40pm and I ring the bell so many times and no one was coming out even though I was able to see a man in the back , two customers left because no one was coming out to help , and then he moved and obviously he was able to see me and pretend he didn't see me and I ring the bell again , and she still didn't look at me or come to help me , I had to scream " I'm coming to pick up and order" I was so mad at that point and he comes and treats me like I'm stupid , and points to a sign where it says ring the bell so I can heard you and know you are here and I told him that's what I Been doing all this time , and so many times and he said okay in a way to shut me , and gave me a rude attitude I'm never coming back to this place I can't leave zero stars, but they desr zero stars.

The food was great, I am not a vegan and found the carnitas taco really good once I added some lime. The chicken flauta was beautiful and so crispy! The "chicken" was a good light texture. The ambiance was minimal, it's a cute place but there was no music and my friend and I talking seemed to echo in the place. I also would have been waaaay happier if there was some hot sauce and salsa around. There was one guy handing out orders and you had to wait for him to help you if you want anything "extra" at all like napkins or salsa or lime so it was a little annoying and I went without because he kept saying one minute so he could help others. Didn't feel accessible and definitely not efficient. I would definitely recommend fir anyone looking to try vegan Mexican food and would also tell them to bring some hot sauce!

The food is always good, that is not why I give it 1 star. The problem is that the service is horrible. We used to order doomies and their next mex location almost weekly and now, for the past year our choice to order from here diminished. Something changed because every order turned out have a problem. I always ordered a burrito and everytime now, the item is made incorrectly. They litterlly have check boxes on what you want removed if anything and they seem to ignore it. This mean I have to pick out what is marked to remove and I am sick of it. I suggest that this establishment really reflect on their service and make changed or loyal customers like us will drop off

Massive portions for a great price. Sheesh! Every time I visit LA, I always try to visit at least 1 new spot I haven't visited before. Doomie's popped up while searching for restaurants in the Hollywood area. A fully vegan taqueria that specializes in the hefty & hearty? Let's go! I brought my friend here who is a a huge foodie but hasn't tried much vegan food. You order either online or through the touch screen POS systems and then take a seat and wait for your order. The interior is a little bare-boned with just a few tables and booths, but the ceiling is lined with pinatas, making it colorful. We both landed on the same item - the fully loaded wet-style chimichanga with chicken. This thing is an absolute unit of a burrito! Fork & knife are definitely needed. I was only able to eat 1/3 and my friend took down 2/3. Perfect for two meals! I liked the texture of the chicken as it shredded nicely. Everything is so saucy and savory, this is definitely a comfort meal that will fill you up so come hungry. The only thing I didn't like is that the food is served in styrofoam containers. It's not sustainable, but also is so flimsy that when you cut into your food with the plastic fork & knife (which are also the cheaper/flimsier kind), you risk cutting a big hole in the bottom and making a huge mess. I wish you could choose 'dine-in' as an option and get it served on real plates with cutlery. However, in the end if you want tons of food that is filling and comforting for a good price, Doomie's is the place to go. Their sister restaurant is right next door and specializes in more fatty comfort vegan food such as fried chicken & burgers. Yum! That will be on my list for next time.

Absolutely delicious vegan versions of popular Mexican and TexMex. Simple spot, nothing fancy. Recommended!

Used to be one of my favorite places, but has changed a lot over time and it's not quite the same -- some of my absolute favorite dishes like their Chile rellenos have disappeared, portion sizes have shrunk, prices have gone up, the restaurant is remodeled and doesn't feel as friendly and festive, and service feels kind of perfunctory and not super friendly. I love that there is usually plenty of free parking in front, which is a real find in this area of Hollywood.

my absolute fave until the last three orders - when you order 3 scoops of guacaumole for your nachos and you recieve NONE. three orders in a row. done. so sad. great place, but they ignore what you want.

The chefs are and have been for about half a year hit or miss. Sometimes, all good, just what we want, proportions all right, yum. Sometimes, way way waaay too much salt. And I am no salt shamer, but the beans I just ate were, oh my, I usually love to eat them with all else but boy oh boy. Still yum, but not the beans, not as good. And the rice was overcooked and hurt my teeth. Just leaving this here to say bravo to one chef, and, keep learning to the other . But thank you!

Finding good vegan late-night options anywhere is tough so couldn't be more thankful for Doomie's. NextMex can easily compete with even the non-vegan Mex street food, tacos, burritos, etc. Perfect after a night out!

This place was love at first bite for me! Yes it's a bit daunting the thought of vegan tacos but believe me these are HEAVEN on a tortilla! I got the three taco combo: Al pastor, asada and carnitas. It came with rice and beans which were super delicious. The tortillas were fresh made and they didn't skimp on the filling. I also got the fried capirotada which was a HUGE piece (definitely shareable) and came with a side rub if whipped cream. I ate everything and was SO stuffed pretty much for the remainder of the day so even tho there was no meat, it was super filling. Sucks I don't live in LA bc I would be coming here ALLLLL the time!

Seeking to culture your tastebuds vegan style? Located in a small restaurant lot with a few other restaurants you'll find this hidden gem. Upon entering you will notice that the ceiling is decorated and friendly vibes. You will walk in a realize that everything is figureoutable. It was quite simple you see as you order your food via kiosk and your order is brought out to you once it is ready. If you need help with kiosk they are glad to help. I ordered the carne asada burritto wet style. They have tables inside and outside plus free parking. Once my order was ready I could not wait to make my food disappear. I simply love that they take Mexican cuisine and reintroduce it as vegan. Get your pallets ready and culture your tastebuds. It's a great mix of savor Mexican and vegan cuisine with many meatless protein options. Next time, the mole relleno, tacos, and nachos are top of my list of things to try. It does not stop there as they serve flautas, ceviche, taquitos, and the new fiesta bowl recently added to their menu. It was a nice experience and I look forward to returning for more. The Asada burrito was such an unforgettable dish and wickedly delicious--that taste that just brings you home. It was also quite large. They have mastered the art of nourishment with plantbased vibes. Doomies you've made a fan of me!! Anyone who loves Mexican food, vegan food, or just a foodie at heart go check them out. So many options & variety, love me an all vegan Mexican restaurant!! Yessssss!! Chili Verde is my favorite in taco form. I do think they could go crispier on the texture of their meats, they all are really soft and sort of mushy, but the flavors are incredible. The nachos rock and so do the taquitos! Try them with the Roja salsa. Although I do have to say their rice & beans are not the best IMO. The rice lacks flavor, while their smoky refried beans are really sour.

Love the nachos and vegan options here. Convenient that it's located next to the other Doomies location and is open late! My only note is to turn down the AC in the restaurant. Otherwise super awesome spot

Low quality food at moderate to high prices. The service is non existent as you have to order through a rudimentary touchscreen. The ambiance is late night dive Esque. Food served in non biodegradable plastic containers or paper bags with non biodegradable plastic utensils. And the expectedly overpriced pre packaged guacamole was at least a day old. They get props for being og but that is it.

Food is amazing (10 starts) Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays. Only when Carlos(cook) is there. If you order any other day. Food is poor quality, poor quantity and they take forever. I'm not sure if the owner is aware of this but I would really love if he could fix this situation. I've been coming here every week for the past year (Mondays only cause if I come any other day I end up mad because of what I said before). I wish I can go more. I would give 5 starts if food was the same everyday.

Food: Yup! Delicious! For those who avoid soy, they have very limited soy-free options - but it is possible. Basically stick to carnitas (mushroom) and remove cheese and cream on the dishes. The beef taquitos are mushroom base, so they're soy-free too. The fried artichoke Baja style's batter contains soy, for an option w/ less soy. Loved everything I got & would order it again: The guac & chips, extra salsa verde, 3 taco combo with 2 carnitas and 1 fried artichoke, & beef taquitos. Service: the staff was very helpful in helping me figure out what was soy free and overall were very nice. Food is done in great time, the ordering process is via touch screen and you get a text when the food is ready. Ambience/venue: clean and nicely decorated

Hello Doomie's NextMex owners or managers. I used to go here all the time and get your vegan Chile Rellenos. They were the best I've ever had and unfortunately I moved to the South Bay so I don't get up to your restaurant often and I just called and found out you no longer serve the Rellenos. I am soo very sad! Is there any way you can provide the recipe or can I order a dozen or something of them so I can freeze them at home? They are that good! PLEASE!

Was super excited to reorder the artichoke tacos and they were teeeerrrible. They didn't hit like they did last time, didn't know why til I picked it apart and saw the artichoke was super burnt and almost non existent so it was almost 5 bucks for mostly batter...I ordered four of them . They packed the wrong sauce, the flauta was super soggy which honestly my bad for getting it delivered but if you know something isn't gonna hold up don't put it on your to go menu. Seems like the quality control is non existent, glad I gave them another shot now I know for sure to avoid this place. Sorry!

Omfg the best best best best best vegan Mexican you can get only issue they use styrofoam containers and have no drink variety if they changed this and served food on a nice plate this place would be epic!!! This is a great place! IF YOU WANT FOOD POISONING. Went here for my daughters 13th birthday. She recently became vegan but she loves Mexican food so we decided to try out this place. Biggest mistake ever... We walked inside and noticed there was a urine like scent. But we decided to eat there anyways. The lady taking our order was rude and gave my daughter dirty looks. She even tried to argue with us about how eating fried oreos is not good for us. We ordered a mac n cheese, 2 tacos, and some fried oreos. We first tried the mac n cheese. It tasted horrible. Then we tried the tacos. Again, horrible. The only thing good about this place was the fried oreos. On the car ride home we felt extremely nauseous. I even had to pullover bc my daughter threw up of the side of my car. Obviously we knew it was from the food. In conclusion, never coming back.

I really wanted to like this place because I adore the original Doomies next door--but I've gotten food here at least three times and been sick after twice (in the last month or two). I gave it the benefit of the doubt thinking that perhaps it was just the dish I ordered one time--but I tried other items on other dates and the same result happened. I'm sick to my stomach as I type and feel incredibly nauseous. I don't know if it's because perhaps the food isn't fresh? Perhaps it's being stored too long and past the expiration date? The faux meat felt off, the sour cream old, and it's just bad... Makes me sick to think about it. I'm astonished this place has a single five-star review at all, to be honest. I highly suggest if you want a good and authentic vegan Mexican food experience, go to Cena Vegan. Also in agreement with other reviews that state it's a bit counter-intuitive to be a vegan establishment but use styrofoam since it's super bad for the environment.

I had the "carnitas" . I could not believe there was absolutely no meat in the taco. It was very flavorful. The texture was spot on. I would recommend this to a meat lover. It was exceptionally good.

They don't have the tostadas anymore so I was sad about that. They do have the flautas a la cart so I tried the two beef flautas alone and they were bomb. My partner got the same and loved it. The only thing i would improve for sure is checking the number of people who order as they come up. A woman had her order and the man that worked there gave her my order plus her order. I asked the women if she ordered flautas and a drink and she shook her head yes, I asked the employee if my order #15 was ready and they didn't listen to me since they were packing her order first. She was even waiting for the drink and that's when I stepped in and said wait that's my order and she walked away smiling, but the worker took the orders out of the bag to double check finally before she walked away and handed her the drink. I was going to get a refund if I had to wait again since I was already tired and on my way home to Palmdale/ Lancaster area. Glad they checked because it was a good meal and wouldn't have tried it otherwise. The meal for two people was under $15 ... they have a menu advertising chille reyeno, but it was not on the menu. Would go back and try another item again.

Next Mex got me feeling like a food lush in all the right ways.... Came in the other day on a sunny spring Sunday afternoon for "brunch." Bae (it's new so yes it's okay to use bae... stop judging me) and I had never been, but had just done Doomie's next door a few nights prior. Upon blowing in we noticed the A/C on perfect... a seat yourself, ordene aqui/order here and pick up here signs all placed perfectly... everything is self served... not even severs... just you a touch order pad and whatever your heart desires... a cool salsa bar, water dispenser and napkin/cutlery area/stations.... they don't accept cash, because there is no cashier... so have a card or android or apple pay. Hyping up the decor... I loved the mini pinatas and lights above the front half of the restaurant... as well as the giant faux next mex taco on the wall. The seating is a little funky being that most tables are alongside a long booth bench and/or connected which means you can make new friends when it's packed as they'll be dinning literally two feet away from you. We ordered our feast on the first touch screen and took our time... the guys behind us didn't seem in a rush, but there are two touch screens for anybody who might encounter a busy situation or line forming. I had to have the wet burrito and the nacho fries were and are a MUST, probably the show stealers, even though everything is great and we added a taco (carnitas) to have a full experience... oddly enough two other orders came out before us with the EXACT combination... though we got "pollo" in our wet burrito... so definitely try a variety and with friends or a date, in my case. Even though we didn't have much service the cooks and staff were very friendly handling our food and ask if we had any questions and pointed us in the direction of all the stations. Will have to come back soon for Doomie's Next Mex as well as Doomies. Fun fact is you can order at one and dine inside the other and use the Doomie's bathrooms since Next Mex doesn't have a public bathroom. I'm not sure how the wine and beer situation works there since I know Doomies' serves and carries, but Next Mex does not.. as far as I know... A question for the next visit, for sure!

Doomie's NextMex is the plant-based Mexican restaurant of my dreams! Casual dining space and you order at the counter using the self-serve iPad. Cashless transactions only. There was one gal working behind the counter who acknowledged us as soon as we placed our order. The Meateater Hubby and I ordered the following: - Nacho Fries http://bit.ly/2DEK1RH - Burrito http://bit.ly/2DB9QSR - Baja Artichoke Taco http://bit.ly/2S1g2J8 - Mole Relleno http://bit.ly/2X3FFga Although we can't remember what "meat" we ordered for the nacho fries and burrito, I remember we were totally blown away by its deliciousness! BTW, Nacho Fries totally rocks my world! I was surprised to see that the Baja Artichoke Taco was batter fried. I definitely loved having that crispiness. The Mole Relleno was good but I gotta admit I wasn't totally in love with it as much as I was with the other dishes. It tasted a little sweeter than what I would have preferred. Not necessarily a bad thing. I was just expecting something more savory. (Take that with a grain of salt. I'm no mole expert at all.) Overall great experience! Our food came out super fast. Portion sizes are huge. Parking was easy. In fact, I was surprised to see that parking was free in the lot on a Thursday evening. I was also surprised that the dining room was as empty as it was. Other than me and the Hubby, there was only one more duo there. That said, I think this spot is really good for late night eats since it stays open until midnight.

Los Angeles is the center of the vegan world and also, arguably, the cultural center of the Mexican-American population in the US. But until recently, LA didn't have great vegan Mexican food. That's changed with the arrival of places like Doomie's Next Mex and Cena Vegan. To cut to the chase, the carnitas taco ($3) and the carnitas tostada ($4.50) are phenomenal and the best things on the menu. They're simple, savory, and have great homemade tortillas and great-textured vegan pork (which appears to be a Taiwanese brand). These are some of the best vegan tacos in Los Angeles, though not as good as Cena Vegan, which makes its own tortillas AND mockmeats. The taquitos ($5) and chicken flautas ($6.50) are both decent, but not great. The vegan beef and chicken inside each, respectively, gets mushy when deep-fried. I did like the pastry-shell texture of the flautas, though. The asada and al pastor tacos ($3 each) are both fine, but pale in comparison to the carnitas, which have better texture and better seasoning. Lastly, the "capirotada" ($6), a fried bread pudding dessert with whipped cream, raisins and hints of cinnamon, is unusual and really tasty. Next Mex is a welcome addition to the LA vegan scene.

First thing first, I've been a regular customer here ever since they opened, and the food is amazing! I often come with friends who are both Mexican and meat eaters, and they have been blown away by the authenticity of the food. The stand outs are the chile relleno, the al pastor tacos, the shrimp tacos and the chicken flautas. I have only complements for the food, and if you want to get take out, I don't think you'll be disappointed at all! My issue is how the dine in experience has deteriorated over the years, and at this point, it's just clear they don't give one shit about the experience of a dine in patron and they'd rather be take out only. Pre-Covid, you ordered at the counter, then someone brought food to your table on actual plates. Somewhere along the line, they added in ordering everything on a computer, which is fine I guess, but now the staff makes an effort to have as little interaction with you as possible, and it's not welcoming at all. The plates have been gone for years, and even if you're dining in, you get your food in take out containers. And the dining area has devolved into a complete mess... when I was there yesterday, it was like eating in a storage room... literally random garbage cans and cardboard boxes just thrown all over the place and half of the tables now gone and there's some kind of construction happening. It's a disaster and you'd have a better atmosphere eating at one of the outside tables by the parking lot, and that's really saying something! I'd still 100% recommended the food, but the state of the restaurant itself and the experience with the staff is now downright depressing.

While the waiting time was annoying, the food was well worth it. Hands down the best vegan Mexican food I've ever had. Would've been 5 stars if I didn't have to wait for as long as did with only one person ahead of me. Big healthy portions and I left full. Will be returning.

Doomie's NextMex is a great option in the area. The food is good for vegan versions of the authentic thing. I ordered their Crunchwrap and nachos. Both were good. I strongly recommend trying the nachos. There is also the advantage of having two other vegan options within walking distance. If you don't fancy one of Doomie's NextMex desserts, you can walk across the parking lot to get ice cream or you can go next door to check out Doomie's Home Cooking.

Love love love all the vegan Mexican food. Took my friend there and she loved it as well. Definitely give it a try. Can be on the salty side but I enjoy a lil salt

Amazing! Authenticity scale: 10/10. The restaurant has the authenticity of a regular Mexican restaurant, so you know the food will be great. Amazing asada burrito, the flavors were really there and it was an enjoyable experience. Not like other vegan asada burritos I've had, better. The Al pastor taco though I would rate a 7/10, I would not get that meat in a taco but maybe a burrito would be better
