"At Door to Door, the tradition of Chinese grilled street foods comes right to the table. Similar to Japanese yakitori, skewers of grilled meats and vegetables like chicken hearts, pork belly, prime rib, Chinese sausage, eggplant, okra, squid, and more can all be ordered a la carte for a choose-your-own-adventure style meal. They also serve Vietnamese pho, but the skewers are truly where it's at." - Matt Lardie

Went here for Pho but was really happy to have the skewers as well. Beef, broccoli, and cauliflower skewers were very good. My wife doesn't like too much spice and they weren't too much for her. Had the basic Pho and it was very good. Free ice tea as well if you dine in. Will definitely be back!!!!

Door to Door is a hidden gem, and it's probably the #1 reason to visit Chatham Square. Ordering was so convenient with kiosks surrounding the bar area, and the food options are surprisingly diverse - with the menu having both ramen and pho options, different skewers you can purchase individually or combo with rice, cold appetizers like tripe and beef tendon, and other odd Asian style delicacies like garlic eggplant and seafood "pulutan" (Tagalog word meaning light food that goes well with beer or any alcoholic drink). My girl got their mixed pho option with all kinds of meat, and I got the shoyu ramen with medium slices of pork. She enjoyed the pho and I tasted it as well, and I thought it was good but not as good as East Pho Ramen in Raleigh, NC. As for the ramen, it wasn't bad but not as impressive as the ramen in Miso Ramen Bar in Cary or Hokkaido Ramen in Morrisville. For the price, the amount of meat is fair, and the saltiness of the broth is just right but it's not the quality tonkotsu broth I'd crave. It's good to see that Door to Door offers both pho and ramen - neither are bad to the point that we wouldn't order again, but neither are also excellent to the point that we would be compelled to order it every time we come here. Maybe if the restaurant focuses on upgrading one or the other, I'd give this review a 5 stars but if you're craving for the best pho or ramen, this is not the spot. What makes Door to Door special is the combination of their soup options, skewers, appeitzers, and beer. We also ordered a couple of beef skewers and 1 lamb skewer, individually, and they were pretty cheap, so it's convenient that customers will be able to just order the right amount for their budget. We felt that we should have ordered more skewers because they were so good for the price, and they go well with the bottle of Asahi beer that we shared. We saw that they have both hot and cold appetizers but the only one we ordered was the cold appetizer beef tendon (about $10). The beef tendon was excellent and went well well with the beer as well but $8 seems like a more reasonable price for the amount we got. This is something I'd order again though. This was our first time eating at Door to Door, so weren't sure how to balance the types of food for a $50 budget for 2, but I think the next time we'd go here, we figured that we'd just order 1 soup (ramen or pho) that we'd share, and more of what they excel more at: skewers and delicious appetizers, and a couple of bottles of beer since most of the foods you can order here go well with beer or any other alcohol. Finally, the waiter gave us a complimentary 4-piece sample of their brand new dessert item: fried milk, which they described on their Instagram as "a dessert made by coating milk pudding with breadcrumbs and then deep-frying until golden and crispy." This dessert was surprisingly amazing - the soft, chewy texture is perfect, and when we took the bite, we can taste the yummy yogurt coated so well. The look of this dessert reminded me of Edward Lee's special dessert dish in the Season 1 finale of Netflix's Culinary Class Wars, and I have to say that this dessert is a must-have for every Door to Door visit. The customer service is fast and friendly; the ambiance is just fine for a skewer bar. One of the waiters even opened the bottle of beer in front of us. This is the perfect spot to casually eat and drink with friends who love street-style Asian food and your choice of alcoholic beverage. The appetizers are definitely worth trying along with the skewers, but both the pho and ramen dishes needed something extra special to make them unforgettable. It's uncommon to see a restaurant that offers both pho and ramen, but it's more rare to find one that excels at both. It might be better for Door to Door to focus on crafting an excellent variety of ramen options since we see this skewer bar as more of a Japanese than a Vietnamese spot, rather than trying to make pho also available but be mediocre at it.

An odd combination of Chinese skewer, Japanese ramen and Vietnamese Pho place. We tried the skewers and ramen. They are both good. Self-service. Reasonable price.

Finally came here after hearing about it, and the skewers were good! I ordered the beef, pork belly, wingette, and fish tofu. I liked the seasoning, but it all kind of tasted the same. In a good way since I liked it. But I’m not sure it’d be worth the extra money for the more expensive meats. The eggplant with garlic was more expensive, but it was quite good! Savory and creamy, with a good texture. We also got the deep fried mini bun and that was delicious as well. I ended up paying about $20 including tip. One thing to note is they can’t really split the check well, so be sure to know that going into dining there.

First time visiting Door to Door. I’ve seen great reviews online, but to me it was too salty, same seasoning on everything except the preserved duck egg and tofu. As you can see in the pictures, all of the meat/seafood are seasoned with same salty, heavy cumin seasoning. I don’t mind the seasoning, but not on everything and so much of it! We ordered #1-5, #8-10, # 17 #S32 and #C1. Honestly I think it’s kinda expensive too, one skewer with maybe 4-5 pieces small meat cost 2.99+ each skewer. The only food I like is the preserved duck eggs and tofu! That’s really good! It may look simple but the taste is amazing! staffs are pretty good very friendly. Atmosphere is really nice.

Pretty authentic Chinese style skewers, the noodle options are not bad either. Ordering through the kiosks, the service depends on the servers: either they call the order number or they bring the food to the table. My second visit had better service, but the ramen broth was little bit too salty. Overall it was worth revisiting.

This place goes so unrecognized. Their skewer tasting menu was PACKED with flavor. I would go here everyday if I could, but sadly reservations are usually grabbed pretty quickly. Love the authentic China Northeastern flavors behind every dish and it never overwhelmed any of the main ingredients. Highly HIGHLY recommend and looking forward to returning soon!

The food is ok. While I’d say it’s authentic, it’s an authentic representation of decent, but not great, Chinese BBQ. They ask if you want it spicy or not, but the spiciness level doesn’t really register. We asked them to bring the next batch more spicy, but it was still pretty mild.
