"I learned that Dope Coffee is a Black-owned roastery and coffee shop owned by Michael and Michelle Loyd; it opened earlier this year on Snapfinger Woods Drive in Stonecrest and will have a stall in the new Stonecrest Mall food hall." - Beth McKibben

Mobay Spice Jamaican Restaurant Is Opening in Toco Hills, With Dope Coffee and Peoples Town Coffee Opening Soon in Stonecrest and Peoplestown | Eater Atlanta

"A Black-owned coffee roastery run by Michael and Michelle Loyd that is opening a permanent location after more than two years of pop-ups and a temporary stay in downtown Decatur. The new Stonecrest space on Snapfinger Woods Drive will include a roastery, a coffee shop, and a multi-media community events area, and will mark its grand opening with free tastings, a roasting demonstration, prizes, and live music on February 18. The brand emphasizes connecting coffee, culture, and hip-hop — using music to bridge generations and ethnicities — and has produced themed pop-ups such as an Amsterdam-style cafe tied to the FX series Atlanta." - Beth McKibben

SXSW ‘Atlanta’ Television Show Pop-Up Includes Free Coffee | Eater Austin

"Based in Decatur, Georgia, Dope Coffee is the company behind the pop-up cafe and will be serving the free coffee menu at the event. I note that co-founders CEO Michael Loyd, CPO Chel Lloyd, and COO Stace Loyd started the company in 2018 and emphasize coffee, hip-hop, and Black culture as central to their brand, with the pop-up drinks featuring art from the Atlanta series." - Nadia Chaudhury

Google
I purchased the Tanzania Peaberry Dark Roast. Like nothing I've ever tasted! Potent, robust and flavorful - without cream or sugar!!! And UPS made a mistake with my delivery, but DOPE COFFEE took care of it, expeditiously! Not one complaint and I look forward to ordering over and over again.

Google
Came here after googling “coffee shops” by me and I’m glad I did!! They weren’t quite open yet (grand opening is Feb 18th) but they still allowed me to do order and do some work and Mike even gave me a tour! They have a roastery with coffee imported from all over the world as well as a stage area in the back. I’m so happy I found a black owned coffee shop so close to where I live. This is definitely my vibe. Of course I’ll be back!

Ordered 2 bags whole bean online & have been enjoying the brew! It is medium bodied and mellow, with a nice pick me up! Service was quick and I received a few dope stickers which I threw on the back of my pixel and get lots of comments on. Great company, great coffee!

Google
Dope Coffee! I have tried most of their flavors, all of which were robust and nutty. I started with the Guatemalan/medium roast and loved it for the chocolatey flavor. Now, I'm really into the Tanzania Peaberry/dark coffee, so delicious and toasty. It makes me feel like a coffee connoisseur and I'm just a simple gal in SoCal. Shipping for me is less than USPS Priority Mail, you know the "if it fits, it ships" option and I order a couple 12oz bags at a time. I highly recommend anyone to try this high quality coffee.

Thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. I was introduced to quite a few new facts on the sourcing and processing of coffee. They’re doing a really good job cultivating an atmosphere for edutainment. Check them out

Google
DOPE coffee is the best. I have enjoyed Dope coffee since I first saw Michael on LinkedIn through my friend Samson Williams. I love the Ethiopian dripp it is a unique smooth and ground coffee that goes lovely with coconut milk.

Yelp
The nitro cold brew with oat milk was so feisty and delicious! My assistant and I are working closely in this warehouse district and for years there has not been a new coffee house so close to us! We decided in prep to come check it out since we were an hour early by accident to work and discovered this family owned GEM ! My assistant got a lavender latte and bought the lavender homemade syrup they had for sale in their coffee shop too! They have ready made coffees to go as well. Definitely a place to go check out and support a new and local spot! Only downside is we didn't really have much room to sit and hang and wait out our hour early call . It was a grab and go spot! Similar to Plants A+ coffee where they had a few bar seats and a picnic table out front and that's it. This coffee house is literally all the way at the back of the strip mall looking building. Look for the signs and keep going! Free coffee every morning during I think 8:30-9:30? I forget the hour but it's so nice they do this

Yelp
This spot was a whole vibe! I had seen Michael and Michelle on LinkedIn. I heard their story on NPR. I was driving down 285 and I absolutely had to stop by. This place is amazing. It was a whole experience from beginning to end. AND, most importantly, the coffee was amazing. I got the ATL Latte and I enjoyed all of it. I've done the Starbucks, Duncan doughnuts, office community coffee, etc - the whole gamut. I have to say, I like this coffee the best. Not overly sweet, not overly flavored, and not bitter. I was really surprised with how it tasted. I'm used to drinking coffee in the morning. This was the type of drink that I could drink any time of day.
