Doppietta - Review - Sant Antoni - Barcelona - The Infatuation

"Doppietta isn’t your typical Italian trattoria, but rather a spot where you’ll find familiar favorites served tapas-style for sharing. They do hearty pastas like the gnocchi with squid ragù and the superb cappelletti filled with meat, butter, and sage. Everything is served family style, but the real stars of the show are the sharing platters overflowing the cheese and cold cuts, mainly from the chef’s home region of Brescia. Another thing we love about Doppietta: with its buzzy outdoor terrace, affordable Aperol spritzes. and playlist that mixes rock n’ roll with ‘50s and ‘60s soul, it’s always a super fun night out—which isn’t surprising, given that it’s run by the same team behind Benzina next door." - Isabelle Kliger

Food was excellent overall—the tartar was super well executed, as were the winter tomatoes and burrata, and the carbonara (despite arriving slightly cold, with the sauce starting to congeal). Desserts were nothing remarkable, but to be fair, we were pretty full by then. The interior is nice, the food is authentic, and the service was good and friendly, though occasionally a bit absent. Still, a solid spot with great flavors. Will be back to try more dishes.

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant for a friend's birthday. The food was delicious, and the attentive staff made our evening special. The location was beautiful, and the presentation of the dishes was impressive. I will definitely return when I'm in Barcelona. Highly recommended!

This is the loveliest restaurant we’ve had dinner at. There are some delicious gluten-free and lactose-free dishes as well. The staff were friendly, especially Serena. She’s the best! 🫶🏼

Great place to have a nice Italian meal and the best place for an authentic aperol spritz in Barcelona. It’s a rare find and a great place for a cute date or just to live life. Highly recommended

In the heart of the Parlament area's charming streets lies this hidden gem where you can enjoy a fantastic Italian brunch every Sunday, so booking in advance is recommended. The brunch concept is both inventive and enjoyable: kick off with an Aperol Spritz and a sumptuous buffet, followed by communal sharing of the main courses and finish with a delicious desert of your choice. With charming staff and a fresh, elegant atmosphere, this spot offers an inviting experience that's sure to linger in your memory.

Great concept for weekend brunch with all you can eat charcuterie and salads bar, and a selection of hot mains for the table. Included with a drink and dessert too. All at a decent price of €25 per person. Quality of food was very good. Staff were very nice and the ambience was really pleasant. Nice spot for family occasions too. Recommended.

It’s not easy to find a good “buffet libre” in Barcelona - and Doppietta is an option acceptable but, unfortunately, not the best. The offer of 25€ per person consists of three turns: free buffet with cold snacks; a round of hot dishes; a dessert or a coffee - and is accompanied by a drink of a choice (water / vermut / aperol spritz. Doppietta does two turns - at 13:30 and 15:30. The cold snacks are good and you can note the quality of “materia prima” (focaccia however still has a lot of space to improve). It’s a classic variety of cold antipasti. Around 14:15 starts the “hot round” and at this moment they barely renew the buffet selection. The hot dishes, unlike the antipasti, leave much to be desired. Risotto was tasteless and I would bet that the rice is being cooked separately (and in the water lacking salt) since it lacks flavor completely. Gnocchi are very heavy, made with a lot of flour, they sink straight to the bottom of the stomach. The 4 formaggio sauce is lacking flavor and the right texture, and is almost at the border of splitting. Meatballs can boast of a very good meat texture but the sauce of the super market style (something similar to a bad “tomate frito”) kills the flavor. Carbonara, however, was really good! The desserts were of an average quality, the coffee was good. In short: Great concept, some space for improvement.

The pastas were excellent, very good quality entrees, and desserts. Definitely recommended. One of the top restaurants in Sant Antoní. Great ambiance and helpful staff
