The Best Pizza Restaurants in the East Bay | Eater SF

"Doppio Zero is a favorite among pizza enthusiasts, even earning an entry in the Michelin Guide. Now the East Bay has its own location of the Mountain View favorite. The Margherita is a classic, but if you’re looking for something different, try the Pulcinella, a red-sauced pie with eggplant, cherry tomato, mozzarella, basil pesto, and ricotta salata. The pastas are also worth a look if you’re hungry, and for the very hungry, there are a few full-sized entrees like a rib-eye steak." - Noah Cho

Doppio Zero in Concord offers an authentic Italian dining experience that truly impressed me from start to finish. We ordered the La Carne pizza along with other menu items, and everything arrived incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. The crust on the pizza struck the perfect balance of crispy and airy, topped with high-quality ingredients that showcased the restaurant’s commitment to traditional Italian flavors. Service was attentive and friendly without being overbearing, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The atmosphere is warm and inviting — modern, yet cozy — making it suitable for date nights, family gatherings, or casual dinners with friends. They offer beer and wine, and I really enjoyed a chilled Peroni, which paired perfectly with the food. Another plus is the free and ample parking, which makes dining here that much more convenient. The space is also accessible, making it easy for all guests to enjoy. Our total came out to around $140, and it felt worth every penny considering the quality, service, and overall experience. If you’re looking for a genuine Italian restaurant in the East Bay with excellent pizza and a great vibe, Doppio Zero is a must-try — I’ll definitely be returning soon! Just an amazing place ✨️ 😌

Google
Great Italian restraunt, there's a nice bar inside with good draft beers and lots of liquor choices. The service was fast and the staff were friendly. The brick-oven baked pizza is amazing! Soft bread but well cooked. Their Prosciutto and Burrata are delicious, too. The bread was a little hard for me, but it had good flavor. Lastly the Cioccolato cake with mixed berries is irresistible. Highly recommend this place!

I had a wonderful experience during my date at this restaurant. The staff seated us promptly when we walked in without a reservation. Despite being busy, we received attentive service through a great team effort, which I appreciated immensely. Our waiter assisted us with the menu and recommended trying the seasonal swordfish, which we did. The food was exceptional in both presentation and taste, and the timing of the service was impeccable. This restaurant truly stands out, and I look forward to returning in the future. Thank you!

Google
Such an amazing place! First time visit to this Doppio situated in an upscale strip-mall type of setting in Concord. The seating and check-in was fairly fast and our hostess was super nice. Within minutes, we placed our order and within minutes the fresh food arrived. Each item was delish, fresh, and tasty. I highly recommend Doppio Zero for a very good italian meal! A+++

Google
Service was nice and atmosphere was also great. We ate outdoors since the veranda had live music. The food was good but it wasn't stand out amazing. Our salmon was overcooked and the pasta a little less cooked than al dente but the flavors of the dishes were really good and things like that arent major. We'd eat here again to give other dishes a try. They are known for their pizzas, so we wish we gave those a try.

Would come back again and again if I lived in the area. All our excellent servers...and the chef...we from Italy! Love the authentic Italian food and fun drinks!

Google
The food and the drinks were really good. I’ve tried their signature cocktail and it was fresh and fruity. I had the sea bass and it was crispy on the outside, soft inside, and all flavors came together in harmony.

Google
My family went here for dinner and we had a great experience. The food is excellent, the service is great, and the outdoor seating was excellent for the weather. I'll definitely come back here in the future.

Yelp
I've eaten here several times and the food is great. The pizza's are fantastic best I've had outside of Italy. I've never had a bad meal here, but it's not cheap! I only wish there was more variety to the menu as it gets a little stale after a while.

Yelp
We had a reservation for Friday night. We were parked in the far back of the patio. This area was incredibly windy, making it uncomfortable throughout the meal. They have plastic curtains hanging that don't do much. Other parties that were sat in our area ended up moving inside. While our waiter was attentive, the service was much almost too fast? We sat down at 6:35 and left at 7:08. Our drinks, appetizers, and main courses arrived within 10 minutes of us sitting down, making the experience feel super rushed. Given the price point of $140 for two people, we expected a slightly more leisurely dining experience. The food itself was a letdown. The pasta was undercooked, and the pizza was soggy. The potato croquettes were served as 5 sad balls alone in a metal bowl with what I can only guess was hidden valley ranch. The price of the drinks on the menu are incorrect as they were more expensive on the tab. Overall, there are far better options in the area.
google avatar

Yelp
Insulted. If you're going to order the most expensive thing on the menu (ribeye bisteca) it's really insulting that they would serve you a thin slice of ribeye. For almost 40 dollars I would have expected a larger portion. And potatoes were hard as a rock and "al dente". Just expect the portion sizes to be small and prices to be up there. My partner did not like his pizza. The artichokes were awesome but again, four pieces only. The server was great. I just would not eat here again. Especially because parking was a nightmare!!! And they have Michelin recognition??! How?!? I don't believe in giving out less than 5 star reviews to small businesses.

Yelp
According to a work colleague which happens to be Italian, Doppio Zero in Concord is one place to get really authentic Neapolitan Pizza. I came here for solo lunch after car maintenance at nearby Concord Toyota. The restaurant is huge and welcoming, like so many others at the Veranda. I started with grilled octopus as the appetizer - perfectly cooked and tender. The salad was fresh as well. It's amazing how you can enjoy eating Octopus live (Korea), raw (Japanese), or grilled (Greek, Spain, Italian). For the main, I got the Fungo Pizza. Even with 10-inch diameter, one person can finish. I liked the cheese and thyme, though I preferred sliced, stubby mushrooms as opposed to the stringy ones that reminds me of Japanese enoki. Pizza crust had some burnt parts but otherwise pleasant chewiness. It was not crispy despite being a thin crust. Definitely recommend DZ for your Neapolitan Pizza fix. There are standards needed to serve authentic one. Be sure to enjoy it dining in, as this type of pizza won't taste as good for takeout.
google avatar

Slava C.

Yelp
I'd describe it as fairly average, albeit with slightly pushy service insisting that the burnt crust is intentional. The cooking stove is impressive but requires some expertise to operate. Inside, the furniture feels a bit cramped, making it challenging to navigate to the bathroom. However, the outdoor seating offers a fantastic view of the Veranda music fountains. Despite the slightly burnt pizza and soggy texture, the brussels sprouts with bacon were surprisingly tasty. Overall, it's a one-time-visit place.

Yelp
Had dinner here with friends as recommended by someone in our group. We tried the doppio zero pizza and it was great. We asked for chicken in addition to the prosciutto it comes with. Also had their ribeye and porcini pasta which were both good. We had to try their dessert to end a scrumptious and enjoyable meal. Service was good and he checked in on us quite often.

Yelp
Came here for dinner with a friend last week finally. I got the Alfredo pasta and she got the gnocchi and a special. The Alfredo was delicious and handmade. We enjoyed our time here and will be back.

Yelp
Wow the pizza is simply the best I've ever had. I imagine this is how good pizza of Naples is. I've been inside once and the service was top notch. Perfect for date night.
google avatar

Yelp
I was really looking forward to trying Dippio and left incredibly disappointed. For starters, the pizza was so undercooked that my 5 year old said "mom, this pizza is terrible" and didn't eat it. I ordered the little gem salad with shrimp and could not even eat it due to how overdressed and bland the dressing was. The shrimp was tiny little shrimp that you'd find from a bag of shrimp at the grocery store. You'd think they'd at least serve jumbo shrimp. Pros: the ambience is beautiful, and the broccolini and fries were great.

Yelp
I've come to this place for years now and have to say, one server we get much of the time is grumpy and not very friendly. We tend to come at quieter times, either lunchtime or early dinner, so it isn't like it's busy and he's over stressed at the time we eat there. We also aren't high needs customers, but quiet and polite. Another issue that keeps happening is that they keep burning the margherita pizza crust and I mean REALLY burning it underneath so much that we're eating straight up black charred dough that isn't doing our health any favors. Earlier they didn't burn it as much, but lately they've started really going overboard on the charring. It doesn't taste good to eat completely charred dough. The last time we ate here, we specifically asked for no burning of the crust/light bake, and, well....see the photos. It's as if they didn't really try. I was really disappointed and unimpressed for the prices we pay for those pizzas. We will be coming here less often from here on out and going to a place down in Emoryville that's cheaper and has better pizza. Doppio Zero needs to do better if they want their pizza customers to keep coming back.

Yelp
Just so happened to be in the area and decided to check this place out. Opted for the outside patio seating. Nice area and relaxing vibe. Food was very good. We enjoyed a side of the Brussels sprouts with our meal. Both the Marechiaro (seafood squid ink pasta) and the lasagna were excellent! Our server was friendly. Service started good and got slower and less attentive as the meal progressed. Typically one would get a small dish to place the clam shells (to which there was none provided). Didn't check in on us to see if we need refills or anything. By then we didn't dare order any desserts anymore. We waited quite a bit before they appeared again so we can ask for the check. We may visit again for the food (maybe). TBD!

Yelp
What a wonderful experience we had. Jesus was our delightful server. Take a look at the pics to see what we ordered. Everything came out in an orderly fashion and tasted really good. The ginger ale I ordered was flat. I ordered it twice and it didn't change. Since my group had a lot to talk about, we were there for 4 hours. I ordered Gelato and decaf coffee. The coffee was super strong and I had to confirm that it was decaf. It was. The gelato was one scoop chocolate and one scoop vanilla. Neither had much taste. Either way I'll definitely return again. Thank you!

Yelp
Delicious, met here with friends that came into town. The service was fantastic and man did the pizza taste good. Margarita is what I prefer and usually showes the skills of the chef the most. Everyone left very satisfied.

Yelp
Gnocchi - my daughter really like this Marechiaro - just ok, may be too aldente for our taste Halibut Special - thumbs down; halibut was too fried and dried, the raspberry sauce was a terrible idea. Ambience and Interior - nice Service - a little on the slow side Will we come back? Most likely no.

Yelp
Came for dinner with my sister and son. We had the shoestring Truffle French Fries which were perfectly crispy, flavored with truffle oil and the ketchup went well with it. The Burrata was delicious with hints of salt crystals in your bite. Crostini was soft on the inside and toasty on the edges. Gnocchi was delicious. This time the Fettucine Porcini was sauced nicely and tasted heavenly. The Marechiaro squid ink pasta was a bit too al dente for my liking, but it wasn't too hard. However, it was a bit on the saltier side which I didn't complain about to the server. Casual environment with moderate noise level. Handwashing stations are outside the toilet doors FTW! Would come back and try other items on the menu.

Yelp
We have eaten here several times! You simply must try the scrumptious squid ink pasta from Doppio Zero. It is an absolute delight for both the eyes and the taste buds. The striking jet-black color of the pasta is visually captivating and promises a unique culinary experience. With each forkful, you are greeted by a burst of flavors that will transport you to a seaside escape. The pasta itself is perfectly cooked to al dente perfection, providing a delightful texture that complements the dish beautifully. The squid ink infusion adds a subtle brininess that enhances the overall flavor profile without overpowering it. The dish is further elevated by the addition of fresh seafood, such as succulent shrimp and tender calamari. These ocean treasures perfectly complement the earthy richness of the squid ink pasta, creating a harmonious dance of flavors. Every bite is a celebration of the ocean's bounty, leaving you craving for more. To top it all off, the dish is delicately finished with a drizzle of fragrant olive oil and a sprinkle of fresh herbs. This final touch enhances the already amazing flavors and adds a touch of elegance to the dish. Overall, the squid ink pasta from Doppio Zero is a culinary masterpiece that deserves rave reviews. It is a sensory delight that will leave you wanting to come back for more. So, treat yourself to this exquisite dish and embark on a gastronomic journey that you won't soon forget.

Yelp
Our group was a party of five. We arrived on a Friday night at 6pm. We anticipated a great meal since our earlier visits were memorable. What stood out during this visit was not the entrees or drinks, but our server! He was gracious and attentive. During this visit, we wanted to try some new entrees. We started our meal with ordering the same familiar appetizers that never disappoint and we always enjoy them. Appetizers *Potato Croquettes - 5 Croquettes Homemade Potato Croquettes breaded with gruyere cheese, parmesan cheese, leeks, parsley served with truffle fondue. Always delicious! *Calamari and Shrimp Deep fried calamari and shrimp served with tomato sauce Lightly battered and seasoned well. Enough for 2-3 people! We enjoyed this! DRINKS Things starting going downhill when we ordered the drinks. Three individuals of our group ordered ice tea. The ice tea was not fresh and had a soapy taste. The waiter brought some lemonade. Again, the three individuals were surprised to discover, the lemonade had a slight soapy taste. ENTREES Filet Mignon 8 oz seared filet mignon served with baby potatoes and broccolini and Chianti wine reduction demi-glaze. The Filet Mignon costs $42.00. The individual who ordered this said it had a lot of gristle. He was surprised because a filet mignon should not have gristle. He would not order this again. He felt the demi glaze sauce was on the bland side. The filet mignon was a disappointment. Marechiaro Homemade squid ink tagliolini, jumbo scallops, clams, roasted garlic in light spicy tomato sauce It sounded delicious, but the entre itself was not a memorable experience because it just didn't taste good. The jumbo scallops were cut into small pieces and couldn't taste the garlic. The clams were fine. I would not order this entrees again because the flavor was bland. Bistecca 12 oz grilled Black Angus rib eye steak, served with a side of french fries and an Italian green sauce. This was ordered as medium rare, but initially served as rare. It was returned to be cooked to medium rare and when it was returned, it was delicious! This actually was the only entree that was enjoyed. Zuppa Di Pesce Seafood stew, clams, calamari, shrimp, fresh fish in a light spicy tomato broth. Served with crostini. Salty, just too salty. We would not order this again. Branzino Seared Mediterranean Sea bass filet over fregola sarda and black Tuscan kale, Italian herb sauce. The filet was so thin! It lacked the tenderness of a thicker piece. The seasoning was ok. The person who ordered this felt he was eating a thin "strip" of bass. He was disappointed. The greens tasted rubbery and weren't easy to cut . The rice was flat tasting. FINAL THOUGHTS We eat out a lot and always appreciate meals that are memorable. Tonight was not that type of experience. We spent $250 for a meal where only one entree and two appetizers were enjoyed because they were actually delicious. It says something to have spent so much money and be disappointed in not just one item, but multiple items. When the entrees turned out to be disappointing, we had thought about ordering a few pizzas, but in our previous visit, the pizza was a huge disappointment. We didn't want to take a chance of spending so much more money for pizzas just to be disappointed again. Not sure if we want to return unless we just want appetizers.

Yelp
A staple spot for my friends and my work team! All of their dishes are spot on. Lasagna is one my faves, but their mortadella pizza is an absolute showstopper. Order it with their chili oil and enjoy a comforting bite with a bit of heat. Servers and bartenders add to the welcoming environment of this space!
google avatar

Elizabeth V.

Yelp
I've eaten here a few times and it's always been very consistent! Definitely prefer all the pasta dishes! The seafood squid ink pasta is my favorite. Any ravioli dish they have is also stellar. Il Ragu dish is not as good as the seafood pasta or raviolis. The pear salad is also yummy and fresh! All the apps are good (calamari, brocollini, etc). Not sure why the pizzas are award-winning; I always find them to be a bit soggy so I prefer ordering the pasta dishes. I've probably had most of the pizzas and the standout ones are the jalapeño, diavola and fungo. Great happy hour that doesn't end at 5pm for people who work until then! It ends at 6pm and includes food / drinks. Very nice inside ambience and outdoor seating. Servers have always been kind and attentive.
google avatar

Yelp
Fun Italian spot in Concord. They do have a thing call "Squid Ink Pizza" which for me - nope. But some other good stuff. Ravoli was great and we did have some regular cheese pizza which was good. Lot of seafood options which is interesting (I am not a seafood person but my wife loves it). Great place to grab a bite and then head to the movies. We'll be back.
google avatar

john j.

Yelp
A great place for a quality Italian meal. We love the pizza and the gnocchi, their food is very authentic and flavorful and they have an extensive drink menu as well.
google avatar

Brianna A.

Yelp
The food was flavorless. I got the fettuccine short ribs and it tasted like an off brand ravioli. The Brussels sprouts were burnt. Both dishes seemed like an ingredient was missing. The reviews suggested the burnt pizza was intentional, so I asked to not make it so crispy or burnt which they didn't. I did notice that pizza had blotches of cheese and not a consistent cheese all over . The waiter was nice, however he wasn't that attentive being that we came in at 5 which was not busy at all and after the rush of lunch and before dinner. I just expected more from this place being that I've been wanting to try it for a while. I wouldn't recommend

Miriam L.

Yelp
It was quite busy there but we had a reservation so we were seated right away. We ordered 2 pizzas, 2 pastas, seafood stew type dish, and 2 salmon dish with 2 apps plus drinks. The burrata prosciutto app was the best thing I had on the menu. Although some mentioned a bit more salt could be added. My main was the salmon dish with wild rice. The first bite of the wild rice was super hard and crunchy. My mother-in-law also had the salmon dish and agreed that her dish was also crunchy and hard. We are avid cooks, so we know wild rice is suppose to be a bit al dente, but not crunchy and hard. We mentioned to our waiter that we felt the rice was undercooked. She came back after talking to the chef that wild rice is suppose to be hard. Total turn off. Their red pasta sauce was pretty good. We ordered a plain pasta with red sauce for my little one. Their passion fruit mojitos had good flavor not enough alcohol, and this is coming from someone who doesn't drink much. The Smokey flavor from the pizza oven was spot on. Out of the whole table only one person really loved their dish (the squid ink pasta). The good didn't outweigh the bad. We won't be coming back or recommending this place. I was reading a review that they had/have a Michelin star?!! With the over cooked salmon and undercooked rice it's hard to believe!
google avatar

Monica M.

Yelp
Yummy yummy! Now I finally know what the hype is all about! Came here for lunch on the first Friday of the year and was glad that it wasn't packed! Speedy service to be seated and served! The fried artichokes gave me all the right vibes and the truffle fries were annihilated. The gnocchi wasn't enough and that pizza dough -- ugh! I can gush about how satisfying the meal is for a solid 15 minutes! The place is definitely trendy with a full service bar for some cocktail fun and i can see myself coming out with a group of friends to break bread - but for our family lunch it was also great!
google avatar

Yelp
My family and I had the pleasure of dining with Doppio Zero to celebrate the end of the long three-day weekend and we had a wonderful time! I wish I could've gotten our server's name because he was amazing but every single one of the staff here was super kind and friendly. To start, the ambiance was extremely inviting. The warm-tone lighting combined with the modern & aesthetic furniture resulted in a comforting and cozy dining experience-- it was the perfect place for a nice dinner with friends & family or an intimate casual date night. The food was delicious as well, we had the opportunity to try various items off of the menu and none of them were disappointing. For appetizers we had the Truffle Fries, the Calamari & Shrimp, and the Potato Croquettes. All three were great to begin the meal with but the calamari was definitely the fan favorite at the table. For entrees, we had the Il Ragú [Rigatoni], the Fettuccine with Short Ribs, the Lasagna, and the Rack of Lamb which was one of their specials. All dishes were amazing but if we had to choose one to order, the Fettuccine would be our pick. We also had a few cocktails with the meal and the margarita was great, fairly sweet though if you prefer your drinks that way. Lastly, we had the Tiramisu and the Hazelnut Tartufo which were delicious sweet ways to end off the meal. Overall, I would highly recommend dining with Doppio Zero for your cozy night-time dinner needs. Not only was the staff super kind and accommodating, but the food and drinks were exactly what we needed to unwind after a long weekend.

Yelp
In keeping this simple, the food was delicious. So many options I wanted to try. Selected the Polpettine/meatballs (my favorite of the four), the Brussels Sprouts , the Margherita Pizza and the gnocchi. The staff were very friendly and attentive especially the nice gentleman from Calabria . The highlight of this visit was the Limoncello Cake. So amazing! Pairing it with a coffee was perfection. I look forward to my next visit there. Thank you to those there. hehe.. I took a small bite of the cake before I remembered to take a photo.

Yelp
food is good, service is nice ! i always get the ragu it's super yummy !! little pricey, but overall worth it !

Yelp
I can't believe I haven't left a review after all these years. I drive 30 minutes, search around for parking in the ever busy Veranda Shopping Center JUST to come here. My favorites are their Doppio pizza with the prosciutto arulga burrata mozz (add salami. Trust me! It's a must), their IL Ragu pasta which they longer offer (but was able to sub for penne pasta), their alfa Gato, truffle fries, calamari (the white aioli is so tasty. What else? I think that's it for now.
google avatar

Glenn L.

Yelp
I had been here for lunch a few times but first time for dinner. It was a Saturday night so it was busy, but easy to get an online reservation. We went with the beets and brussel sprouts as starters, but we could have just had those for our dinner. The brussel sprouts were a huge portion and were very tasty. The beets were very good as well. We split a fettuccine porcini and they actually split the order in the kitchen (we said we would split it but they portioned it to two plates. Good thing we split it - super filling. The pasta was nice and al dente.
google avatar

Evangeline E.

Yelp
Suuuper disappointed in this place. I saw all the raving reviews and was excited to try this especially since its in the Veranda and we were going to catch a movie after. The service was very on top of it, ambiance was nice, but the food was just absolutely lacking. My girlfriend got what we thought was a Cesar salad but it was the most bland salad I've ever tasted. Felt like poor girl was just munching on some romaine lettuce like a rabbit. Her bf got a pizza which is what they're known for and even so it was okay and a bit undercooked. Just tasted like cheese and it was mushy in the middle and the crust was burnt- tells me their fire is too high. I got the ragu which had the most flavor from all the dishes. All in all I won't be back.
google avatar

Yelp
Doppio Zero in Concord, well, "it's alright, it's okay". My boss and I had lunch here. The interior is gorgeous, the server, very Italian -- good! They boast about their pizza with a "best of" posted on the window outside, so my boss gladly ordered one, La Carne. At the end, he was like "it was okay". I ordered the Fettuccine Short Ribs with housemade egg fettuccine and short rib meat in a Chianti red wine reduction sauce with shaved parmesan cheese. Well, "it's alright". Nice portion. I thought the "gravy", the sauce, was mediocre. [$24, 4.0 stars]. Bread was an afterthought, I had to order a basket after my pasta came. It was not warm, but "okay". So, am I right, "it's alright, it's okay"?

Kathreen L.

Yelp
While the food and ambiance was good and delightful, it was the service attention that I am writing this review for. Service staff and management were always checking up on us, even behind the scenes, making sure we were getting our food and enjoying it. They genuinely wanted to know if we were enjoying our meals. I would definitely bring my family back here. Especially since I'm pregnant and couldn't enjoy the wine every other table around me was having!

Yelp
The restaurant is beautiful and awesomely located near other restaurants, shops and hotels. The food was so flavorful and was reminiscent of flavors I had in Italy! The service of the food itself came quick, however it seemed our server was doing many other things so we had to get all we wanted in the couples times we saw them. Other than that, the bread was awesome, the pizza crust was so good! The middle of pizza got a little soggy, and the croquettes were too cheesy for me. Overall- pretty good and a cute restaurant!

Yelp
Went here tonight on a whim and so happy we did! They sat us right away and the staff was super friendly and attentive. We didn't have to sit and wait forever for menus or drinks. The wait staff was awesome and the service excellent. The restaurant was clean and nice and had great ambiance. The pizza was amazing! The dough was so fresh and soft but not soggy at all. It was the perfect pizza crust. The fried artichokes were the best I've ever had. The pasta was also super fresh and tasted homemade. We'll definitely be back!

Randy B.

Yelp
Food was a little below my expectations. Fungi pizza was lacking the main ingredient which was cheese. Sauce was almost non existent, but there were plenty of mushrooms. Calamari/ shrimp appetizer dipping sauces were very small portions but the dish was tasty. I think they could be a little more generous with the dipping sauces. Service this visit was hurried for some reason even though the restaurant was only about a quarter full and not as welcoming as previous visits. Waiter seemed in a hurry for us to order main entrees. Ambiance was very nice as well as cleanliness of the dining area. Cocktails were tasty and well made.

Yelp
I am finally writing a review for one of our favorite Italian places in our own backyard! The staff? Always incredibly friendly (Carlo, looking at you!). The food? Always on point. I have so many favorites but my usuals for starters are the beet salad, burrata, truffle fries, the potatoes cróquets with the truffle sauce! The mushroom ravioli is delicious and I do not usually appreciate mushrooms (it's a texture thing) but the mushroom filling is delicious in the ravioli with the truffle sauce. The salmon is always cooked just right. Tiramisu is the dessert I always go to but honestly they're all amazing! Their wine selection is extensive and the Dopio zero drink is tasty and strong! Both indoor and outdoor seating are pleasant depending on your preference. The outdoor patio in the spring and summer evening is very pleasant and full of action near the fountain. If you like authentic Italian this is the place.

Yelp
I love coming to Doppio! The staff is very kind and funny :) always pleasant to see them. I highly recommend their pizzas as they are always up to par. The ambiance is very nice as well, a great place to grab a drink with friends!

Yelp
I came with a group of 6 for Saturday lunch. The staff was very accommodating since we wanted to change our inside table to an outside one on their patio. Our waiter was also very funny and entertaining. The restaurant itself is very clean and aesthetic both inside and outside. They serve complimentary bread upon request. We ordered the bruschetta, brussel sprouts, lasagna, Marechiaro, ravioli, and short rib fettuccine. We loved the crispy brussel sprouts and bacon! The marechiaro was a squid ink pasta with seafood. Unlike most other squid ink dishes elsewhere, we could actually taste the subtle flavor of the squid ink. The scallops were very tasty and there was just the right amount of sauce to balance the flavors. The pasta itself was a perfect al dente. The lasagna was our favorite by far! It's served in a hot dish that keeps it warm for the duration of the meal. The pasta was tender, the cheeses were gooey/melty, the sauce was very flavorful, the portion size was filling. I'd definitely get this dish again. Overall, this is a great and lively spot for Italian food!

Yelp
Food poisoning warning! I'm so beyond upset! We went to Doppio Zero to celebrate two birthdays and a graduation. Another member of our party along with myself ended up with severe food poisoning. I was so sick I missed my son's graduation party the following day!! My husband went in to talk to the manager the next day. She told him we got it from somewhere else and gave him a $25 gift card to shut him up. Unreal! We spent over $400 at this restaurant. The manager should have at least refunded us which would have showed they accepted responsibility over this horrible situation. If that were the case I would at least feel less angry and put it behind me. Unfortunately that was not the case. I now have the memory of missing my son's graduation party spending it violently sick at home thanks to this restaurant. I advise you to eat there with caution!

Yelp
A few things the service was great ! Our waitress was absolutely on it and a pleasure. The good ends there. The food however was lack luster which is disappointing because fellow Yelp eliters have vouched for this place. The only thing that added flavor was the chili oil they provided. I wasn't impressed by their wine selection and the cocktail was watered down. I'll probably be picking something else in the veranda next time around.

Yelp
The waiter was absolutely clueless of how to describe the fish special. So I got the squid ink pasta instead. But seriously train your servers to be capable of describing the specials! Lovely decoŕ. As to the food..my cousin's pizza was soggy on the bottom. When you boast a wood burning pizza oven and zero flour..this shouldn't happen! My squid ink pasta was delicious. Then it came back up at me 3 hours later. Neither my cousin or I will be returning.

Yelp
This is SO good if you like seafood. Their service is okay. I think it definitely depends on if they're busy or not. I'd recommend to just try at least!

Yelp
Southern Italy fare located in the Veranda near the fountains. Everything from the calamari to the pizza to the pesto shrimp pasta was exceptional. The service was impeccable. The ambiance is rustic and modern. This is the expectation one would have dinning at a Michelin star establishment!

Yelp
This location is located in The Veranda. Parking is challenging especially in the evenings during the weekend. On this specific day, my family and I visited on a Friday night. The best place to park is closer to the restaurant of course, however, if you can't find parking, try parking near TJ Maxx. It is a short walk from TJ Maxx, but you will pass by the Fountain and a huge red chair. You can take photos while you're there. The restaurant is very nice inside. They have a display of alcohol on the walls. The only thing I didn't like was how the tables were too close to each other but it wasn't a biggie. We were seated quickly and the waitress attended to us fairly fast. We ordered the potato croquettes and 3 pizzas. A margarita, the Smokey, the La Carne, and the one with goat cheese. We enjoyed all of it, however, the one with the goat cheese had way too much red pepper. If you're into spicy, then I recommend it. If not, please avoid. Each pizza cost us about $19 for a 10 inch. Enough to feed one person. Definitely recommend this restaurant for pizza. It reminds me of authentic New York brick oven pizza so it's worth it.

Yelp
Great food and great vibes for a group dinner. The appetizers and main plates filled with flavor.

Yelp
Had the pleasure of dining at Doppio Zero Concord location for dinner with family. We made a reservation at 6pm and were seated immediately. The interior is gorgeous, with a homey feel and they even have patio dining! The restaurant is situated in a cute complex with a nice courtyard that has live music on Wednesday evenings! Our service was wonderful, and the vibes of the restaurant were great, perfect for a date night or special dinner. We ordered the Fried Calamari and Shrimp, and Prosciutto and Burrata as appetizers. The Calamari was nothing special, standard restaurant quality. But the Prosciutto and Burrata were outstanding! The salty prosciutto paired so well with the creamy burrata, this was my favorite dish of the night! For mains, we ordered the Fettuccine Short Ribs, Doppio Zero Pizza, and their daily special Lobster Pasta. The short ribs were braised for 24hrs and you could definitely tell. They melted in your mouth and the pasta was cooked well. The Doppio Zero Pizza had more prosciutto and burrata on it, a combination that never fails! Even the crust is soft and pillowy. The Lobster Pasta was just okay, the noodles were advertised as al dente and they did have a bite to them. However, I felt that for the price the amount of lobster could've been more. It looks like a whole lobster but there was actually minimal amounts of meat. Nonetheless, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here, and would definitely try their Mountain View location next time!

Yelp
Was able to get seating right away on a Friday night around 8PM. However once you're seated, the server took forever to come take our order. We got the Polpelttine (meatball), Il Ragu Pasta, and Smoky pizza (white sauce). The food was decent, but what sealed the deal was the spicy oil that they gave us to pour on top of the pizza. We pour that oil on top of the pasta as well. Highly recommend asking for that oil when you're here!

Yelp
Ok so I have been here twice now and can confidently recommend Doppio Zero to all!!! They take reservations and stick to the timing so that's a plus! Yes, it's a little noisy but that's a good thing! The decor is pretty average. I will say that the wishbone style chairs are extremely comfortable. The staff is incredible, they're attentive, polite, and the food comes out fast and HOT! My favorite entree so far is the lasagna!! And for dessert, you MUST try the cioccolato cake. My only "negative" comment is that each time I ordered an Arnold Palmer the taste is inconsistent. First time it was too sweet with barely any tea. The second time it was too sour with barely any tea.

Yelp
Visited in a Saturday evening around 5pm. We were seated quickly although the restaurant was quite full already. Our server was very attentive and nice. Food service was also super quick! Order: Burrata - so simple, but soo good! Burrata with honey, roasted hazelnuts, and arugula with crostini. The perfect amount of creamy, touch of sweet, nutty on top of a crispy crostini. Marechiaro - squid ink pasta with seafood and clams. The sauce was very simple and the seafood was cooked perfectly! Delicious! The server said it would be spicy but wasn't spicy at all to me. (I'm not someone that can handle too spicy) II Ragu - the noodles were a bit too al dente in my opinion but overall this dish was good Prices are pretty reasonable, food, service, and ambiance were good also! I would return and recommend
