So grateful for plant-based options! They have a vegan pizza, vegan ravioli, and for starters we had grilled artichoke with balsamic reduction! The happy hour thingy was on every table but our server was trying to tell that it’s not on Sundays even though it was written on the thingy on the table, and then that it’s only for certain tables, but why the thingy was on every table then, weird. Otherwise, it’s a cute a cozy spot, pizza was great and they have spicy sauce/oil available upon request. Ravioli’s filling was so-so but the artichoke was delicious.

The food was delicious, and the service was great! This place keeps us wanting to come back again and again. By far, it’s one of the best Italian restaurants in the Bay Area. Definitely 5 stars!

I've only been to the Mountain View location before but I prefer the vibe and how spacious this location is. I sat at the bar with a friend and I think the drink menu is slightly different too? The bartender, Melanie, was super helpful and knowledgeable when I was trying to decide both the drink and lunch. I got the the rapini pizza (amazing, would get again) and their special margarita (super tasty and refreshing, and the popsicle is a fun addition).

We’ve been to Doppio Zero many times. Overall, we enjoyed our meal. We sat outside and it was lovely, less noisy than the inside. Service is as expected. My husband loves getting the lasagna. This time it fell a little short but we ate it, may not order it again. We ordered the chicken with Tuscan kale and mushrooms and that was delightful.

We came here twice. First time was on a weekend and it was very crowded. We got the Margherita pizza. Some parts of it was burnt and others were raw. It was pretty bad. We also got a pasta dish and it was so so. Our second time was on a weekday. We got the cheese pizza and it was really good. Service was good both times.

Google
The pizza was exceptional! I had the fig pizza and was blown away! So good! That paired with super friendly service and great dessert made the night perfect for us! Thanks a lot, we will be back ❤️!

Octopus was great and so was the lasagna. We got the Bufalina pizza as well. It had a bit too much of a charcoal flavor but my girlfriend really liked it.

Google
We had such a great experience here! Everything we ordered was delicious, and the service was top-notch. Everyone was super friendly and really attentive. it’s clear the place is well managed. It’s a great spot whether you’re out on a date or with a big group of friends. The vibe is just right. Definitely our new go-to for date nights!

Yelp
Great food, nice vibe. Parking can be a bit of a challenge if you look on Laurel, but we always just park a few blocks away and enjoy the walk. Went for dinner on a Tuesday night this time. 1. Polpo alla griglia. Octopus was firm but tender, good flavor, with a nice sauce. Accompanying salad was good. There was a little bit of slimy part on the octopus, but otherwise this was good. 2. Nectarine salad. Arugula, thinly-sliced nectarine, mild goat cheese, pumpkin seeds, perfectly dressed in just the right amount of dressing (lemon honey thyme citronette). Absolutely fabulous! One of the best salads I've ever had. Light, refreshing contrast between the sweet fruit, the peppery arugula, the creamy and mild goat cheese, crunchy seeds, and delicious dressing. 3. Bufalina pizza. Print menu says bufala, basil, tomato sauce, parmesan (although I didn't notice any parmesan, and I prefer just mozzarella anyway--online menu doesn't list parmesan). Excellent neapolitan crust, thin in the middle and puffy on the edges, good chew, slight char in spots, nice flavor/texture from proper fermentation and baking. Another reviewer didn't like that the toppings fell off the crust and that the edges were slightly charred, but that's how a good neapoltan pizza is supposed to be, and I prefer this style to the typical American pizza that has a thick, heavy crust, is underbaked, and has not had proper fermentation and baking to develop the flavors and textures. 4. Limoncello cake. The print menu called it "limoncello cake" (but I don't think it actually had any limoncello in it, and the online menu calls it "lemon cake"): sponge cake and mascarpone "infused" with Sicilian lemon, white chocolate shavings, blueberry sauce. Deliciously light, fruity, and creamy. 5. Panna cotta. We didn't have this on the most recent trip, but at our previous trip a year ago. This was a disappointment. Panna cotta should be a delicate custard, but this was very heavy and thick, requiring you to really dig with your spoon. The taste was fine, but the texture was too, too thick. 6. Pizza vegana. Another one that we didn't have on our most recent trip but during our previous trip. This was ok, would rather stick to bufalina! We also had a bottle of still water, and while the water was good, we found out later that it costs $8! Just be aware. Service was great, and the ambiance is a little fancy but still casual and relaxed. Overall, we really enjoy this place, and it has The Italian's stamp of approval.

Yelp
Came here on a weekday with family few weeks ago. I also came here last year one time but never had the chance to write a review till now. Parking was easy to find on the streets. We got seated indoors since it was pretty hot that day. We got here right around opening too so barely any customers which was nice. (I'm sure they are super busy at night though) What we ordered: Nectarine salad: So delicious and refreshing to eat on a hot summer day. I am a huge arugula leaf fan so I was excited to try this and it was soooo good. Def a must order! Figs pizza: Mhmm figs + prosciutto! It can't get any better than that. Soooooo good!! Lots of flavor and makes my mouth watery every time I see a photo of it. Overall service & food was great. The waiters came by to check on us, fill our water cups etc. Definitely will be back again soon!

Yelp
This was my first time at Doppio Zero San Carlos, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. For a table of three, we ordered a well-balanced spread: a salad, a pasta, and two pizzas to share--and we devoured almost everything (just one lonely slice of pizza made it home). The Beet Salad was a standout starter--fresh, vibrant, and full of flavor. I especially loved the creamy cheese paired with the sweetness of the roasted beets and citrus notes. The Figs White Pizza was hands down my favorite dish of the night. Sweet figs, savory cheese, and just the right amount of bite--it was that perfect combo of salty and sweet that keeps you reaching for another slice. We also tried the Fettuccine with Short Rib, which was rich, hearty, and beautifully cooked. The pasta was fresh and the meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender. The Jalapeño Pizza had a nice kick but not too spicy. I liked it but did not LOVE. It. Drinks-wise, I couldn't resist the Dragon Aperol Spritz--so good I had to order a second. Refreshing, slightly bitter, and perfectly balanced. Not too sweet, and it paired great with everything on the table. The only downside: our table was right next to the kitchen, and it got noticeably warm at times. But Overall, the experience was great: friendly service, food that impressed, and a cool, modern vibe. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu!

Yelp
Amazing wide selection of pizzas and appetizers/pastas, there's something for everyone here! The restaurant is beautiful and has a lively chatter, perfect for a birthday or fun night out. For appetizers we got the Polettine (meatballs), little gem salad (basically a Caesar), and Crostone del Vesuvio. The crostone was a let down, it wasn't bad but there just wasn't much depth of flavor. Pretty much just tasted like buratta with a little salt. La Carne pizza was great, but we asked for some fresh basil and they charged us $1.50 for 5 leaves... I loved my mushroom ravioli w truffle sauce, it was so rich, but here are my criticisms. First off, I think it was overcooked. Not sure if ravioli isn't supposed to be al dente but this definitely was not. And secondly, the flavor is so rich and the texture so monotonous that without taking bites of other people's food in between, it felt exhausting to eat. I would order again, but request it cooked less.

Yelp
First time coming here and returned two days later because I needed to try the pizza. Both days, Thursday and a Saturday the place was busy but no wait to be seated which was nice. I have the mushroom ravioli one day one and the special pizza. Both were very good. We started with the prosciutto and burrata cheese both days. And one person in my group ordered the smoked trout. I don't eat that but they loved it. Service was good both days too. Both days we had wine and enjoyed that as well.

Yelp
Heard wonderful things about Doppio Zero however I had very mixed feelings after visiting. The place itself is very nice inside and the service was wonderful as we had a large group. What wasn't wonderful was their pizza. I always have high expectations for pizza and was disappointed due to several factors. First every pizza that was ordered was very soggy at the middle and when you picked up a slice all the toppings fell of. I like a bit of char on my crust however these crusts had 4th degree burns. What was delicious was the Nectarine salad, truffle fries (just needs an aioli instead of ketchup), short ribs and branzino. I would come back but not for pizza.

Yelp
Was looking for a spot to dine for late lunch and came across this spot in downtown San Carlos area. I have dined at a similar restaurant before in a different location, so first time to try them in San Carlos. The ambiance is elegant and catchy. The place is clean, fresh with gorgeous design. They have both indoor and outdoor dinning. The host was friendly and accommodating and he was able to seat me to a table quickly. It was almost nearing the time of their afternoon closing in preparation for thier dinner, he explained that to me so I immediately elected to order my drink, my meal and dessert. My server was prompt and helpful. My drink aperole spritz was perfectly refreshing and my gnochi pasta was tasty and delicious as well as my desert was really good too! I enjoyed my time and will definitely return another time.

Yelp
I heard great things about Doppio and wanted to give this location a try. May be I came with great expectations, and walked out feeling just another ordinary place. I love squid ink pasta and I would order this everytime I see this on the menu. When comparing theirs with my regular go-to place, mine was much better. While their pasta was al dente, but i felt another 30 sec would do the trick. In terms of the sauce and the level of spiciness, they were also a tad behind. Also, the clams weren't thorough cleaned and I had to spit out a couple. While I didn't try their pizza, but it looked great.

Yelp
I've only ever had takeout from Doppio Zero but the food is very good. For pizzas, I really enjoy the creative flavors and the pillowy, chewy pizza crust. So far, I've tried the margherita, fungo, fig & proscuitto and nduja & broccoli rabe but the mortadella is by far my favorite. So good... and all are best eaten immediately. The salads are also great and I really love that lemon honey thyme vinaigrette. It's delicious.

Yelp
Last Saturday we saw the Biggest Little Airshow event at San Carlos airport. After the event, we went to Doppio Zero restaurant for lunch for the first time. It's an Italian restaurant. We were welcomed by the hostess and we chose indoor since it was hot to eat outdoor. The dining room is big, clean & has nice decorations. We just ordered sparkling and natural bottled water for drink. For soft drink my husband had Sprite. The server was helpful when we were deciding what to order. From the small plates I got the Caprese and Smoked Trout. My husband tried the Fried Calzone, my daughter had Pizza Vegan & Fettuccine Short Ribs, and her husband ordered the Margherita Pizza with arugula & salami. The food came fast and we were impressed. Later my husband decided to order the Truffle fries. The fried calzone was huge but my husband was not appealed with the taste. The rest of us enjoyed our meal. The service is exemplary. I recommend the restaurant if you are in the neighborhood.

Yelp
Too good to last. Delicious food at affordable price. Scrumptious pizzas. Great service. 10 out of 10. Too good to be true basically. Great teak wood seating, airy, colorful stained glass effect from bar offerings, UNPRETENTIOUS but authentic. The superb food speaks to the quality of management. Family friendly and no bad tables. I loved this dining experience, and I'm known to hate everything. Go there while it lasts! PS It was amazing to get such a large single serve pizza.

Yelp
Came in for lunch based on recommendations from a colleague. Was seated immediately and water delivered. Small menu for lunch so I got the meatballs, gotta try meatballs in any Italian place, and the squid ink pasta with scallops and clams. Meatballs were delicious, so much like homemade from my youth. Pasta was delicious, clams cooked perfectly, it stuck to the shells, scallops were cut into pieces but cooked well. Little spicy, really tasty. Pasta cooked perfectly as well. It's nice inside, very bright and open. Full bar as well.

Yelp
This place is really good! We had been to the location in San Francisco and love it. We stopped by here around 830pm on Saturday night and luckily it wasn't too busy that we were able to get seated outside right away. The weather was perfect too so it wasn't too cold to enjoy our food outside. Parking is on the street but we were able to find it right away. We ordered a fig and prosciutto pizza, wild boar fettuccini, and dragon aperol spritz. Everything was really tasty and came out fast! Good thing because we were really hungry! This spot is a must try!

Yelp
Not much to report. To many people at time we came in and service was not good. Food just okay due to massive crowd

Yelp
Nothing bad, just nothing really good about this experience, either. Grateful I came with a giftcard as I would have been sour to spend $100 of my own money, I think. Pros: Bustling! I liked that there were friends, families and people on dates here. It was a very nice place to see and be seen. They also put the heater out on the patio cause I was cold and the service was nice if not a little frantic. Cons: Price. I just didnt think it was worth the price for the dishes we got. Ordered a pizza and the bison pasta and neither had very good or punchy flavors and the cocktail came with Shutter Home wine. This is a wild choice for this being one of the biggest wine regions in the world. Like, this is below "well" in my opinion as far as wine goes, I would never order a glass of it knowingly. IDK, truly nothing wrong, just also wouldnt go back?
google avatar

Yelp
The highlights were the entrees and super attentive service. We really enjoyed the... Fungo pizza: Wild Mushrooms, goat cheese, Fontina cheese, thyme, truffle oil, Italian chilies and Marechiaro: Homemade squid ink tagliolini, jumbo scallops, clams, roasted garlic, in light spicy tomato sauce. We were disappointed with the Nectarine Salad: Organic Arugula, Nectarine, Goat Cheese, Pumpkin Seeds, Lemon Honey Thyme Vinagrette. It lacked flavor and was mostly lightly seasoned arugula. We'll be back to try other dishes.

Yelp
I like the food here which is why I'm still giving three stars but was super disappointed in the service we received on Valentine's Day. While I understand that the restaurant was extremely busy it felt like our waitress was annoyed to serve us. When I asked some questions on the menu on some dietary restrictions as I'm currently pregnant she didn't know the answer and responded with a lot of attitude like it was a nuisance to have to go check with the kitchen. Similarly when the bill came for me to sign she was standing over my shoulder and told me I needed to hurry because she had to give the machine back to another colleague which made me super uncomfortable and feel rushed even though I took less than 30 seconds to calculate the tip on my phone. Overall it really soured our meal which is really disappointing as we were just trying to enjoy a nice meal with no kids.

Yelp
Came in with a party of 2 on a Saturday at around 1pm and were sat down immediately for inside seating. The traffic around this time was pretty chill, not crowded at all for inside seating. We got cocktails, apps, and two pizzas, and had a great time! Service was reasonably fast and the food was delicious. I highly recommend the Vesuvio pizza that I got! It's super juicy, creamy, and definitely crave-worthy.I was wondering why this pizza was under the "Red Pizza" section when I didn't see any red, but it was a good thing that I had pictures of the menu for me to realize later that they use yellow tomato puree. Super good! The cocktail I got was super pretty and instagrammable. I was surprised that the restaurant wasn't busier, this location gives off modern/trendy brunch vibes. I had a great time, would love to visit again!

Yelp
I am a big fan of Doppio Zero and nice to see them in more locations. I was here with a big group based on my recommendation. Sadly, it was an off night and though everyone had a good time overall because of the company, the food was not that great. I stuck with my usual Fungo pizza which was too doughy, just like the others who got also got pizza. The calzone was doughy too and flavorless... the pastas were meh too. This was the entire group's feedback. There were a lot of leftovers and something tells me it is all going in the garbage. Service was ok but slow and distracted.
google avatar

Alex A.

Yelp
Pros: great service, decent ambiance, house red was good. Cons: brussels sprouts needed more pancetta, bread was stale, pasta was much too al dente. Only 2 bathroom unigender stalls --so the line was 10 deep, bit pricey. Would not recommend or return with the other choices available. Note: I gave the SF location 5 stars.
google avatar

Sarah H.

Yelp
While nothing fell below average, it wasn't particularly mind-blowing either. We usually enjoy dinner here which ambience is cozier and livelier, but this day we opted to try lunch after visting San Carlos farmer's market. Only a handful of in/outdoor seats were occupied, service was quick. Food was generally unremarkable, except for the Marechiaro (squid ink pasta) which is always a must-have. I've had better cauliflower soups elsewhere, and the wild boar fettuccine was mediocre and lacked flavor. I'll continue to come here for dinner, but I don't think I'll choose it for lunch again.
google avatar

Chi L.

Yelp
Last night is first time stop by this restaurant. 1) Decor: modern nice look, very clean 2) Bathroom has high end Toto toilet 3) Ordered beef short rib fettucine noodle and husband ordered vegetarian ravioli. Favor is good, and I like the portion's size. Perfect, I don't eat too much food. I don't like restaurant give too much pasta. 4) Salad is good. 5) Red wine from Paso Robles is very good. 6) Waiter and employees are super nice and friendly. 7) they have outdoor seating area also. Highly recommended and will be back.

Yelp
From yummy pizzas to delicious pizza, Doppio Zero does not disappoint! Whenever we are in the mood for Italian, this place satisfies our taste buds. Highly recommend any day/night of the week. Great service, great food, and great atmosphere!

Yelp
We had reservations for 2 for a Saturday evening recently. We were promptly seated by a friendly host. The food was great, as was the service. * Truffle fries were extremely well fried. Nice crisp and a hint of truffle flavor. I don't tend to like it when the truffle flavor is overwhelming. * Special ribeye spaghetti had a lot of beef which was cooked well and was a very filling dish. * Squid ink pasta with seafood came with really well cooked scallops and flavorful tomatoes with just the right amount of sweetness and tanginess. I had come here before I remembered that I didn't like the pizzas as much so we didn't order any. I will continue to come back for the pasta (and fries).

Yelp
I have nothing but positive feedback on this location. I have never been to any location but will seek out Doppio Zero for pizza in the future. This evening, I was in the mood for a fabulously tasty and perfectly cooked wood fire pizza. I enjoy the smoky burnt bits on the puffy crust. I ordered the Salsiccia red pizza. The only request I had was to sub black olives with green olives (I don't like basic black olives). They only had stuffed green olives for the bar, so I left it as is. I was pleasantly happy they used marinated Greek olives, so they were similar in taste to green olives. I was dancing in my chair eager to take a bite! The pizza was exactly what I was craving. Nice crust, thin base, not soggy, perfect amount of toppings and cheese. 100% perfect! My husband had the roasted chicken with sautéed kale. He didn't enjoy the kale, which isn't very tender in the first place. We had to speak to a manager to get a sub, they only other green vegetable offered was broccolini. It was the better tasting option than the kale. The staff were very, very attentive and friendly. Our water glasses were quickly refilled and multiple staff came to check on us throughout our visit. The setting is nice for a date night or friendship get together. There were large tables for larger groups. Not sure if they were smaller tables pushed together but it seemed to work. There is also outside seating for warmer weather also. Overall, I'm happy to give 5 stars to Doppio Zero! We will return.

Yelp
Getting a decent ribeye steak on Laurel St. that's reasonably priced is hard to come by, but I found a little gem I've been wanting to try and their menu has just that. Lovely open and airy Italian restaurant has been around a few years now after taking over another Italian restaurant that had been on the street for decades. They're a nice addition and have lovely inside and outside dining areas. They have an extensive cocktail menu with some interesting concoctions. Nice service and quick food delivery. I've been wanting to try Doppio since they opened. Glad I finally got around to it. Lots of pasta and traditional pizzas on the menu. I'm so getting the Fettuccini with braised Short Rib meat next time, it looks incredible and it's popular. I ordered the Bistecca Griglia with Broccolini (a la carte). The Broccolini was incredible. I know! Side dish...whhaaattt?! The way the broccolini is sautéed in olive oil and herbs really got me emo, seriously. The ribeye is good quality and cooked to a nice medium with good char markings. It's very juicy and tender, great flavor and comes with a lemony, basil parsley sauce, similar to chimichurri sauce. Ribeye is accompanied by thinly sliced potatoes, roasted in olive oil, salt/pepper, thyme and parsley. I thought the potatoes were a bonus addition to the ribeye, really good and different from steakhouse entree's sides. Overall, I'm impressed with Doppio. Reasonably priced, good quality and unique. Parking structure (free) is directly across the street, convenient, underground, below the condos above. I recommend giving them a try. I'll definitely will return to try other menu items and one of their unique cocktails. Cheers!

Yelp
Such a beautiful restaurant and bar. The service was very good. Wine very good, octopus appetizer very good. Interestingly, the reviews were spot on about the pizza crust. They serve the pizza on a large China platter and the crust got soggy. It's unfortunate because the first bite was heaven. Not sure how to remedy that, perhaps a different serving platter material. My husband's work got takeout pizzas from them and said it was some of the best pizza he's ever had.

Angel L.

Yelp
Really chewy (but not hard) pizza dough, like an actual jaw workout. The brussels sprouts are done in the baked lemon-cheese style that a lot of restaurants around here do, but unfortunately were quite burnt. Recommend the boar pasta! It was very novel and tasted great; very creamy and a lot of shredded meat.

Yelp
I haven't been back to Doppio in a very long time but this recent visit did not disappoint. It was a Saturday night but surprisingly dining in was met with ease. The restaurant was bustling but plenty of seats to accommodate. We ordered: - Burrata - anytime burrata is on the menu, you can bet I will be ordering it! This one did not disappoint with the perfect compliment of truffle honey, hazelnuts, toasted bread and arugula. A definite repeat item. Honestly, this alone could serve as a dish for one depending on how hungry you are. - Marechiaro - squid ink pasta? bet! I will always get this too if it's on the menu. One thing to point out, the ink is in the pasta and it's not a squid ink sauce. I like it both ways, and this one was a good one. It's more of a frutti di mare with a tagliolini pasta. Nice chunky pieces of scallops and flavorful clams. - La Carne pizza - it wasn't "too" meaty as I thought it might be. It was a perfect balance of chorizo and Italian sausage. It had a smokey flavor along with the perfect chewiness of the crust. - Kids Pizza - $10 for a nice sized cheese pizza shaped like Mickey Mouse. My kids were happy with this. - Kids Penne Alfredo - $10 for a Penne Alfredo which was also enjoyed. It had a hint of truffle in the sauce and my kid loved it. Ambience can be loud as it's great for groups, but also looked to be a popular date night spot. And I'm always grateful for family friendly type restaurants as well. Overall, very happy to have returned to Doppio and will have to stop in again soon.

Yelp
Everything was delicious! We over-ordered and finished nearly everything, even with how full we were toward the end. Dined with a party of 18 and our waiter, Marcello, was fantastic. Went above and beyond to take good care of our group and gave great recommendations. The restaurant has multiple spaces to accommodate both small and large groups. Good sized bar. Nicely decorated with modern touches. The music played inside was today's hits.

Yelp
Best. Espresso. Martinis. EVER. They didn't have them on the menu but they were made from scratch and with love. Was nice ambiance with Christmas decorations too. We brought our newborn for a mini happy hour while he napped in his scroller. Service was great too, very attentive. Will be back!

Yelp
Had an excellent celebration dinner here. Service is on point, food was fantastic. Squid ink pasta - al their pasta taste homemade, it's thick and toothsome. The scallops were perfect, nice and tender, and the light tomato sauce was great for this dish. Pizza is phenomenal. The dough has the perfect amount of tenderness vs chew. The jalapeño pie was absolutely loaded with sausage and jalapeños, but was not overwhelmingly spicy. Pastas and pizzas are in the $20-30 range, cocktails look great but are $16-18 so we did not try them. A great spot for a celebratory meal!

Yelp
Came back to try Doppio's full dinner menu and left happy. We stopped by on Saturday without a reservation and were offered outdoor seating only. It was a bit cold, but their patio has multiple heat lamps. The only downside was our food got cold really quickly, but that's a bit unavoidable. We ordered the squid ink pasta and short rib fettucini, both of which were great. We also got the doppio zero pizza and the crazy pie (currently on their specials menu). The doppio zero pizza was great and had generous topping, but we didn't like the crazy pie much at all. Will definitely skip it next time. Service was great as usual and we had an overall wonderful time. Thought it was great we could get seated during peak dinner hour on the weekend without a reservation.

Yelp
Celebrated my cousin's birthday there so we had a party of 12. The pizzas were delicious and the calzone was massive.

Yelp
Date night on a Friday with 8:15p reservation and we were seated promptly despite it being quite busy. Though it didn't bother me much, this place is loud so expect to shout a little to converse with whoever you're with. Here's what we ordered for food: Polpo alla griglia (grilled Mediterranean octopus) - pretty good Marechiaro (squid ink pasta w scallops and clams) - not bad, but keep in mind the squid ink is not in the sauce, but is actually in the pasta itself Diavola pizza (chorizo, mozzarella and arugula in red sauce) - the dough had a good chewiness but the flavor was a little lacking We also ordered cocktails. I had the Napoli gin which was good, but a little sweet for my taste (I tend to like more alkie forward cocktails) and my hubby had the golden Negroni which was a good-looking drink but the sizable piece of ice that it came with made it a little difficult to consume. In general I thought the cocktails were a little gimmicky (eg mine had a small bottle of Hendricks sticking out of it and I saw another cocktail that came with a popsicle!) and would consider ordering a regular cocktail off menu next time. Overall, I would come back to give the restaurant another try and order different things. Parking wasn't too difficult, it was easy to make reservations using OpenTable and price was reasonable IMO (~$130 for 4 drinks and the above food mentioned).

Yelp
Not sure why this place only has 3.8 stars... It should have 5. Why? Well, I only ordered and ate at the table and from what I experienced, the service was impeccable! Rui (make sure to roll the R) is a rockstar. He was very kind and respectful as well as attentive and efficient. Food came out fast and we were all very pleased with what we ordered. I must mention that the decaf espresso was wonderful paired with the lemencello cake. It was sweet and was pulled with care and attention. I appreciate Rui. I appreciate DZ. Will be back soon, and maybe will order at the bar.

Yelp
Great spot in San Carlos! Went here for a company dinner and the accommodated us very well. Great service and ambiance. I throughly enjoyed the appetizers, but as always the burrata was my favorite. I got to try a bite of the lasagna and it was really good. Definitely would get that next time. Portion sizes were great, good for sharing. There was a good drink selection as well. I think some type of live music would elevate the space even more but overall a great spot!

Yelp
Today, I went with a friend and enjoyed a fantastic dinner & drinks. For starters, we had the meatballs, which were incredibly tender, and the sauce was delightful. The beets were also delicious. We also ordered the lasagna, which was exceptionally flavorful. Cristian and Osiel, our bartenders, were very attentive, and the food was served promptly and at the perfect time.

Yelp
Came back for more delicious pizza and as always always great food. Pizzas were excellent and the Brussels sprouts were perfect with lots of flavor. This time I gotta say the service is much better inside than outside. When you dine outside felt like second class citizen with hard to get attention and service. But this time service is very attentive. Did not need to waive anyone down they just come check on you through out the service. Had to get our favorites pizza and the wild boar pasta was very tender and flavorful.

Yelp
Why can't large party's split a check? Why is it always on the group to figure it out? They said a party over 6 automatically charges 20% ! Fine then let me and my family split our check and charge us 20%. It's far easier and faster if the waitress can just split up the groups from the beginning. After complaining to the manager (which I didn't want to have to do) he allowed us to split it. What a headache. But thankfully he was cool about it. Now on to the food. Bland. I ordered the mortadella pizza. Bland. I ordered the croquettes. Needed salt aka bland. And I was about to order a cheese pizza for my two boys but our server recommended the kids pizza instead. (She meant well) It was a Mickey Mouse shaped pizza that was 70% dough and 30% cheese. My poor boys were asking for more pizza since they don't like eating the crust but I wasn't about to pay for another one. Also both my son's and my pizza were soft/undercooked and floppy. My sons cheese fell of the pizza and landed on his shirt during his first attempt of a bite haha. At first I thought it was because the pizza was too hot but when my pizza showed up cold/lukewarm the cheese wanted to all fall off as well. After my son lost his cheese it made the kids pizza 90% dough and 10% cheese. (I wish I took more pictures) Oh, and the kicker, me and my dad go to the bar and order a couple drinks before the rest of the group arrived. The bartender at the time takes both our orders, and of course my dad has to be all specific in the way he likes his martini even asking for black pepper to be added on top. The bartender says ok. Then walks away. A few moments later another bartender asks what we want to drink. Confused we say the other bartender is already helping us. He says he can help us out now. So we then have to re order our drinks through him. Now I realize the 1st bartender was the manager filling in for the bartender while he was in the bathroom. But why wouldn't the manager tell the bartender what we ordered (1 old fashioned. And 1 martini with a splash of vermouth and black pepper to garnish)? It was just bizarre and that was just our first few minutes being in the Resturant. I'm positive this place won't last long in San Carlos. If Paxti's pizza couldn't survive on this street no way this place does. Especially with sub par pizza. Servers were kind though and the manager did help us split the bill... that's why they get 1 star instead of -1

Yelp
First and foremost, Thank you for fitting us in on one of the busiest nights of the year, Valentine's Day, when our original restaurant couldn't accommodate us after making reservations. Squid ink pasta! Lawwwwd! I love seafood and I love squid ink pasta so this dish is a must! Tasty and flavorful and gave just the right portion. My boyfriend got the steak and it was very tender. Not bad for a restaurant that wasn't a steak restaurant! Boyfriend was fully satisfied. Despite the crowd, service was amazing and did a great job checking in on us and other customers, given it was a very busy night. Friendly as well! Thank you for a great experience! Will definitely come back

Yelp
Wonderful service and ambience at Doppio Zero in San Carlos. The vegetarian pizza options are always a delight. The Margherita pizza is my favorite. I love their fries and broccolini starters. Equally wonderful are their cocktails especially Bourbon in the City! I would recommend this place to vegetarians who love pizza.

Yelp
I love Doppio Zero. The pizza here is not just good for San Carlos, but is truly a standout for the entire Bay Area. So good! Love the pasta and desserts, too.

Yelp
Came here without a reservation on Thursday night at around 6pm and was able to be seated right away. However it filled up quickly so I'd recommend making a reservation. Absolutely a gem of a place. Server Marco was very friendly and accommodating for me to switch out the carb in my dish to more veggies. We had the gem salad and the balance of the dressing was on point and enjoyed the anchovies, which they did not skimp on. Octopus was tender and my sea bass cooked to perfection. I am in love with the sauce it came with, so yummy! My friend raved about her ink squid pasta dish. Will definitely return. Also super nice atmosphere -- feels warm and modern, with a nice bar to the side and plenty of outdoor seating as well.

Yelp
Another solid Saturday night supper at Doppio Zero. My father is partial to soup, and on this night the Specials menu featured a delicious Corn Soup. I tried the Gnocchi and found it to be absolutely delicious with good texture. My father always loves the lasagna and it never disappoints. My husband ordered the steak and fries. He asked for medium rare, and it was perhaps a touch overdone but still delicious. We also ordered a side of broccolini which was enjoyable. Service is good. The restaurant is almost always packed but the staff hustles to keep up. Expect a bustling and somewhat loud restaurant, but also a fun atmosphere with solid Italian fare.

Yelp
We came here with the whole family to treat my mom for Mother's Day. We had reservations, which I highly advise because it does get very busy. Our party of 9 was greeted by a friendly waiter, and service was attentive. Interior of the restaurant is modern and elegant, kinda has a RH vibe to it! Now for the food, our table ordered appetizers: -brussel sprouts (great crispy texture and delicious) -potato croquettes (a little small for what it is) -truffle fries (needed more truffle oil in my opinion if you're going to label it as such) For entrees: -jalapeño pizza: a must! But beware the jalapeños do have a kick! You can always request them to be on the side or just pick them off -salmon: my husband ordered this and he said it was one of the best dishes he's had -fungo pizza: this has white sauce instead of red and my kids really enjoyed this one Overall great food, a little pricey but it is a recognized Michelin star so it's worth the splurge. We'll be back for sure!

Yelp
I've been to both locations. I like their pizzas. It's typical fare for Laurel street. We usually come for my husband's birthday. The bar area is much quieter. We loved the window seat. Service is mediocre and the bill is always $250. My son likes their Mickey pizza which is "off menu" for $10.

Yelp
Italian eats tucked into the heart of San Carlos -- I've been to another location in the South Bay before, but liked this one. The space is surprisingly large and worked well for a team work dinner. The waiters were on top of it, which was appreciated given that we had such a large party. The appetizers were delicious, definitely snag the Burrata! The pastas and pizzas were great to share, too.
