Brookline’s Dorado Tacos to Close - Eater Boston

"A decade-old Brookline restaurant specializing in tacos and cemitas will close down. Dorado Tacos, known for its Baja fish tacos, also serves cemitas and quesadillas with various fillings, soups, salads, sides, beer, and wine. The restaurant has counterparts in New York City." - Dana Hatic

Very good tacos! I am happy I tried this place out. I will tell everyone about this place.

Dorado Tacos is absolutely fantastic. Great place to get a quick bite or sit and have a nice relaxing lunch. They even have a small area designate for outdoor seating. Everything on their menu is great but I personally love the fish and shrimp tacos. They are simple but they are fresh and taste awesome. They are also gluten-free friendly and the staff is quite knowledgeable. I cannot recommend this place enough.

So yummy! Highly recommend. Each Taco comes with two tortillas so you can make extra tacos out of the rice and beans. You can mix and match from a wide variety and each comes with a good combination of flavors and sauces. They also have so many things I want to try so I'll be back

I'll admit that I had high expectations for Dorado Tacos. Overall it was very good, but I wasn't blow away. The food is fresh and tasty. However the Chorizo was a little oily and under-seasoned while the steak was a bit dry. The tacos are a good size and are filling and the corn tortillas are fresh and delicious. Dorado Tacos is a good option for Mexican cuisine, but I wouldn't travel out of my way for it. However, it is one of the better options in the Boston area.

Yummy fresh fish tacos. I particularly loved the grilled swordfish taco special and the shrimp one. Tiny portions but the way I like my mexican food. They do a great special on wednesdays with 1.99 Fish Tacos, not my favorite one but such a great deal. Definitely not fast food and thus takes some time for the tacos but so worth it!

Don't recommend at all. This place is nowhere being to a taco store due it's proportion and size. It should be the most $3. Too expensive but their salads is good I give them that. I recommend Ana's taqueria right down the street. More affordable prices or in general go to East Boston where they have the best tacos.

Some of the best tacos in the Brookline area! The ones with fish and shrimp are tasty, a must try. If you want something different, definitely have the mushroom taco, you haven't tasted anything like it. And on the weekends, they have ”brunch" tacos with scrambled eggs!

Best fish tacos I've had east of California. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, and it was there fish tacos became important to me. Then I lived in Cleveland, and was disappointed by fish tacos there - but not surprised. Then I came to Boston, where seafood is in general excellent. So when, at Sunset, up the street at Harvard and Brighton, I had the saddest fish tacos of my life, it was both disappointing and shocking. Dorado more than made up for it. If you know Southern California chains, Dorado is somewhere in between the crispy cabbage-bedded spicy fish stick of Rubio's fish tacos and the wet-breaded huge whitefish hunk of Señor Fish. It will do, to this Angeleno, and I'm happy it's in town. The vibe, by the way, is wonderful. The staff are kind and respectful and do not impose conversation. I never feel like I have to entertain someone I'm paying to feed me, a thing I can't say about many restaurants. Other reviewers might not find it to their taste, but I find this place relaxing and lovely.
