"Doraku, a sushi restaurant in Buckhead Village, is now permanently closed. It reopened in May for takeout and eventually dine-in service, having first opened five years ago at the luxe retail complex off of East Paces Ferry Road. The restaurant served a variety of sushi and Japanese hot and cold plates, along with sake and cocktails. There are two other locations in Hawaii and one in Miami Beach." - Beth McKibben

We decided to have dinner here for our anniversary, and we weren't disappointed. They had a good variety of vegan and vegetarian options. Everything tasted great and was very flavorful. The ambiance of the restaurant is really nice too. We were given a booth-like table so it felt like we had our own private area. The service was great as well. The brussel sprouts are a must! The seasoning they use make it taste so good! The vegetable tempura and vegetable fried was really good, but the fried peppers was a little too spicy for me. Definitely can't go wrong with a simple avocado roll.

Food is pretty good, but not great. I'd rather go for cheaper Japanese restaurant nearby. I think it's mainly I care more ingredient instead of presentation or restaurant atmosphere. We ordered sushi set, tuna tataki, vegetable tempura, tuna roll, and a bottle of beer. Even at happy hour price, the bill still total $70+.

The food is amazing here. We ate way too much just cause we couldn't stop, it was that good. All the rolls we got were better then any I ever had and we got a brussel sprout dish that I crave since going here. It's not the cheapest but so worth the little extra you will spend. I know it sounds like I'm over exaggerating but its the best!

Stopped here for lunch because I was craving sushi. I had the salmon sashimi and red/white dragon rolls. I love that they do half rolls so you can try more. The fish was fresh and the rolls tasty. Service was great. The waiter was attentive and helpful. Plenty of seating. High ceilings. Nice decor with a Japanese theme.

This place is absolutely killer. The ambiance as amazing, the food is spectacular and the service is quality. (Thanks, Vicky!) Definitely worth your time to give them a chance. (Some food pics missing pieces because it looked so good we instantly dug in!!!)

In spite of all that's going on, my friend and I decided to go out and get sushi. There were a few tables occupied when we arrived and they were also taking extra precautions by wiping the menus down with bleach which was very much appreciated. We ordered the crispy brussel sprouts to start which were amazing. They were crispy, flavorful, and had a nice sauce that went with it. My friend ordered the salmon fried roll without the krab. She thought it was a little spicy and had a little too much cream cheese. I thought they were tasty and not spicy but I could agree with her about the cream cheese. I ordered the zen roll which was pretty good. No complaints. However I did order the vegetable tempura from the happy hour menu which was disappointing. I expected more of a fried veggie stir fry, not individually fried vegetables which were also not seasoned well. They were nice enough to allow us to exchange them. I ordered the cauliflower kara'age to replace them and they were actually pretty good. However it did need a little dipping sauce which was provided after I requested.

The sushi was so fresh! We visited on a Sunday afternoon. No wait. As such Justin gave us specialize attention and walked us through the menu. So personable. I enjoyed my sushami - all chef selections. I also had miso soup (well seasoned) and hot sake. I will be back.

I loved the ambience and location. The sushi was not the best we've had but it was good. I am giving 5 stars instead of 4 because our server Han was great, she was very attentive and polite.
