Dordlofva - Review - Fremont - Seattle - The Infatuation

"This coffee shop in Fremont specializes in homemade cardamom knots, and the focus has paid off with flying colors. (Well, beige.) The pastry’s tight, soft braid resembles a wedding updo, cardamom warmth is just pronounced enough, and the sweetness is subtle. It might be the city’s best rendition of the pastry." - Aimee Rizzo

Seriously, this place serves the best affogato ever—it was so good I actually had to buy their coffee beans! The Freemont latte was also perfectly tasty. On top of the great drinks, the staff were friendly and created a wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommend stopping here for a great coffee experience.

I wish I really Loved this space. I feel as if the center of the universe needed a new unique space to bring humans together. Unfortunately, the need for more minimalistic spaces seems to still be in the hearts and minds of most Seattle residents.

Good coffee, delicious matcha, and fabulous quiche. Seating inside isn’t the coziest, so I wouldn’t recommend this coffee shop for working, studying, or long meetings, but for a quick stop or short visits, I highly recommend!

I needed a coffee and a restroom, and even though the interior wasn’t quite ready yet they let me use the restroom. Great oat milk latte as well. Totally recommended!

Google
Best coffee in Fremont in my opinion. I really appreciate the effort and intention put into each coffee cup, the calm service, and refined environment. Would love to see a gluten free vegan food item ;) Thanks guys ❤️

Great, cozy little Swedish style cafe in Freemont. Quality espresso, creative pastries, and plenty of natural light give this spot a warm, inviting ambiance.

Yelp
This place deserves more hype!! Welcoming, friendly and accomodating staff. Decent prices. And the coffee... I had a soy cafe latte. I'm not picky with coffee (I make instant nescafe at home, lol) but am well-versed in different roasts and sources. With every other local shop in Seattle, I'll get a latte and it's "good." "Fine." "A latte." But here?? Idk what they do to their beans but I'm inspired to get a coffee maker and buy some. This was by far the best plain latte I've had in a long while. Coming from a family of coffee snobs. Can I be obsessed after only one visit? I also love that they have plenty of baked goods (including gluten free sweets!) and outdoor seating. My friend and I sat outside under the awning and had a nice chat admiring the drizzle and dogs. This cafe fits in so well with the neighborhood. I wish them long term success and am excited for my next excuse to visit :)

Yelp
4.5 stars rounding up to 5 stars. TLDR: delicious ice cream, creative high quality yet pricey matcha latte, but unclear pricing for seasonal drinks, inconvenient setup for ice cream sampling, and not very personable service. We've been to Dordlofva twice so far. The first time we got their ice cream, and the second time we tried their sunset Matcha latte and sorbet. The ice cream/sorbet flavors we tried so far are blackberry & ginger (sorbet), peach cobbler, strawberry cheesecake, and raspberry (sorbet). We liked all of them. The strawberries cheesecake was perfectly creamy when sampled, but can be overwhelmingly rich when you finish the entire scoop. The peach cobbler flavor on the other hand, was not too impressive when sampled, but evolved to taste so well balanced between the sweet and sour, and refreshing at a full scoop. I'd highly recommend complementing the strawberry cheesecake with the peach cobbler flavor. It's a great pair, and their second scoop is very reasonably priced. These two are definitely at the top of my favorite ice cream flavor list. My partner liked both sorbet flavors, but would prefer the raspberry to be more sour. The only caveat with getting ice cream or sorbet at Dordlofva is that they have an extremely inconvenient setup for sampling. They do allow sampling, yet all their flavors are stored in separate round buckets in the freezer. So to sample different flavors, the staff had to take out each bucket, lift the tight lid, and scoop you the sample. It was a painful process to watch and made me feel bad to make sampling requests... I also tried their sunset match latte, in addition to the delicious ice creams. It was creative with a beautiful color palette and great taste combo (bitter match, creamy milk, with refreshing sweetness and sourness from strawberry puree and peach puree). I really enjoyed it, esp. for the fact that it was not too sweet. The only caveat with their seasonal drinks is that they don't clearly list the price. I was a bit surprised to be charged $6+ for this 8-oz drink since their regular match was priced at $5. The cashier was nice to answer questions and provide ice cream samples, but always had a slightly grumpy look that made us feel uneasy to ask more questions or clarify the prices. I would not describe his vibes as friendly...

Yelp
Dordlofva is well situated and has high visibility in Seattle's Fremont neighborhood (7/27/25). It has limited onsite and outdoor seating at the moment. They offer the usual indie cafe bevs, ice cream, cake and few pastries. I opted for an iced mocha and savory bacon and leek quiche slice. I appreciated the quiche was heated up. One large and loud group pretty much took up the center cafe seating. I snagged a window facing stool by the entrance and gawked at passersby while having my pricey treats. 3.5 stars rounded to 4. Good to check out, but for me, one and done.

Yelp
Friendly and fast service! They were very helpful in pointing out which of their items were dairy free. They didn't happen to have any dairy free bakery. There's lots of tables in and outside. I enjoyed my London fog and would come back again!

Yelp
Fremont has a new coffee shop: DORDLOFVA just had its soft opening! The space is clean, modern, and very inviting, and the service was excellent. I tried a mocha with nonfat milk and a Swedish marzipan knot that they warmed up for me. As someone who enjoys a strong, rich coffee, I felt the mocha could have been a bit more rich in both chocolate and coffee notes, perhaps because I chose nonfat milk. The pastry dough of the mascarpone knot was good, but the marzipan itself was quite subtle, lacking the flavor I'd hoped for - though that might just be my personal preference. Regardless, it's wonderful to have another coffee option in Fremont!

Yelp
Cozy little spot! I tried one of their matcha shortbread cookies, and it was so good! Nice flavor and not too sweet. Would love to go back and try their coffee and other pastries! I had already had a lot of coffee when I went and was just looking for a light snack.

Yelp
Friendly and efficient customer service. I wish they sweetened their matcha and had more savory pastries. The matcha and cardamom bun still tasted good. The space is a bit dim with lots of seating. Overall, I'd come back here and I recommend it if you're ever in Fremont.

Yelp
so cute! I drive by this place all the time and decided to stop in today on my way home from the grocery store. The design is so cute and welcoming. The staff are very friendly and attentive to service. They have really cool coffee machines too which were fun to look at. I got a hazelnut iced latte and a slice of carrot cake to go. The coffee was rich and tasty, you can tell they use quality beans. The carrot cake was divine! Someone working (presumably the owner) told me that they bake their pastries fresh in house! I will totally be returning here. Definitely recommend :)

Yelp
Server put too much vanilla- vanilla latte had a very odd/bad taste. Threw away my coffee after a few sips.
