Yelp
I've seen signage for DPFM for several years. Yesterday was my first visit. Won't be my last.
I was impressed by the large number of vendors.
My intent here is to critique the Farmer's Market, and not individual vendors.
I was looking for good fresh Tomatoes.
I left with a fair amount of food, but no Tomatoes. Too early in the season.
In 2021, DPFM has some 23 full time vendors, at least 20 of which are in the food or floral business. And no fewer than 15 rotating producers throughout the season.
The vendors are juried, which means that not just any bozo or bozette with a truck can pull up and begin selling.
I wished I had brought a shopping cart, but on the grassy ground, that might have been a disaster. There were a few side-by-sides and golf carts. I did not inquire as to who was eligible for livery.
So I purchased a few bakery and confectionary items. Next time I'll bring a canvas tote.
Nearly all the vendors were masked. And every one I spoke with was super helpful and friendly.
I had a list of vendor's that I intended to visit, but without a map, I could find only about half of them.
I love this place! I'll be back next Saturday.
Insiders Tip: Arrive early. The DPFM is open from 9-Noon, June through October. Much of the produce sells out well before noon.
