Seattle bar the Woods Is Launching a Palm Spring–Themed Pop-Up | Eater Seattle

"A well-respected small roastery in Mount Vernon, Dorothea Coffee is opening a cafe at 514 South First Street and is hosting a grand opening party on April 6 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. featuring baked goods from Salmonberry and vintage items from Camp Opal; because they remain a working roastery they will not offer espresso drinks, but they will serve coffee, tea, and iced coffee, and the cafe will be open going forward Wednesday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to noon." - Harry Cheadle

Superb coffee, wonderful vibe, and it’s just all about the coffee. The minimalist digs emphasize their focus on the coffee, and every cup receives thoughtful individual attention. I’ve had coffee from some of the most coffee-focused spots in the world, and aside from my friend Rory’s insanely detailed home coffee making, Dorothea’s pour-over coffee is the best I’ve had. Bonus points for the huge variety of single-origin coffees for sale, and the beautiful historic Mt Vernon neighborhood surrounding them. Allow some extra time to go for a stroll around the neighborhood with your cup of coffee in hand, or to have a leisurely chat with the folks making this damn fine coffee, to quote Agent Cooper.

Pour overs and brews, no espresso beverages on site. We got their espresso beans to try at home. Friendly folx. New shop and right next to great art galleries and the downtown area.

We were walking to another shop when the smell of roasted coffee drew us into Dorothea coffee. We had a cup of wonderful pour over coffee and a great conversation! We'll definitely be back!

Dorothea coffee is a quaint little coffee shop that I'm certain will surprise you. They keep it simple - no espresso, no lattes, no gimmicks. Just good coffee, made with love. The baristas were friendly and told us how they roast their beans in house with the very cool and prominent roaster behind the bar. The atmosphere was bright and calm, with a quiet record player in the background to add to the charm. Some of the BEST coffee I've had in quite a while!

A great place to get your stock of specialty coffee! I was trying to find coffee roasters in the Pacific Northwest, and found their Google listing. Made the drive up from Seattle to Mount Vernon and it was worth it. Conor, the owner, is extremely friendly and glad to walk you through all the coffees. I've had a couple of pour overs here and they have always been great. I'm definitely going to be ordering beans from them frequently.

If you’re a lover of specialty coffee, you must stop here for a cup! The team is super friendly, they have a long list of single origins, and offer pour-over and drip (hot or iced). The Guat and Rwanda were both delicious. They’re open 8am-3pm. $2-$4 for a cup.

Love what these folks are up to in Mt. Vernon! Records playing, coffee roasting, lots of interesting looking single source beans to try. Absolutely worth checking out and supporting! Good to note they don't do espresso drinks here, but that doesn't lose any stars from me.

Cute, brand new coffee place with great coffee and cool story behind the name (it’s from this book!)
