I recently had the pleasure of dining at Dos Arepas, a new restaurant that has taken the culinary scene by storm. Nestled in the heart of the city, Dos Arepas offers a delightful array of authentic Venezuelan cuisine. From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for a treat. One of the standout dishes that I had the pleasure of trying was the Carne Mechada. Let me tell you, it was a true highlight of my dining experience. The Carne Mechada, a traditional Venezuelan shredded beef dish, was tender, succulent, and bursting with flavor. The meat was slow-cooked to perfection, resulting in a melt-in-your-mouth texture that left me craving for more. The dish was beautifully seasoned with aromatic spices, giving it a rich and savory taste. Paired with fluffy and aromatic white rice, it was a match made in heaven. The Carne Mechada at Dos Arepas truly embodies the essence of Venezuelan cuisine and is a must-try for any meat lover. Another dish that left a lasting impression on me was the Patacon. A beloved Venezuelan street food staple, the Patacon is essentially a sandwich made with two flattened and fried plantains instead of bread. Dos Arepas takes this classic dish to new heights with their creative and delicious combinations. The Patacon I tried was filled with a delightful medley of ingredients, including crispy fried chicken, fresh avocado slices, tangy cheese, and a zesty garlic sauce. The combination of textures and flavors was simply outstanding. The plantains added a unique twist, providing a slightly sweet and starchy base that complemented the savory filling perfectly. The Patacon at Dos Arepas is a true masterpiece and showcases the ingenuity and culinary prowess of the restaurant. In addition to the exceptional food, the ambiance and service at Dos Arepas were equally praiseworthy. The restaurant exudes a warm and inviting atmosphere, with its vibrant colors and Venezuelan-inspired decor. The staff was attentive, friendly, and well-versed in explaining the menu options, making my dining experience all the more enjoyable. Overall, Dos Arepas is a gem of a restaurant that should not be missed. With its authentic Venezuelan cuisine and standout dishes like the Carne Mechada and Patacon, it has quickly become a favorite among locals and visitors alike. Whether you're a fan of Latin American cuisine or simply looking for a unique and satisfying dining experience, Dos Arepas is sure to leave a lasting impression on your taste buds. I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try – you won't be disappointed!

Dos Arepas provided an outstanding dining experience, and their Pabellón Empanadas were an absolute highlight! From the moment we stepped into Dos Arepas, we were welcomed by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The beautiful and vibrant decor added to the overall charm of the space, creating a perfect ambiance for a memorable meal. The attentive and friendly staff made us feel like valued guests, ensuring a pleasant experience from start to finish. Now, let's talk about those Pabellón Empanadas! They were simply irresistible. The first bite revealed a delightful combination of flavors, with a crispy golden crust enveloping a heavenly blend of seasoned ground beef. Each empanada was generously filled, bursting with rich and savory goodness. The seasoning was perfectly balanced, satisfying our taste buds in every way. The Pabellón Empanadas alone are worth a visit to Dos Arepas! But the surprises didn't end there! Dos Arepas also offered a delightful treat—Fried Ice Cream. This delectable dessert took our taste buds on a journey of sweet indulgence. The crispy outer layer gave way to a creamy and cold ice cream center, creating a perfect contrast of textures and flavors. It was the ideal ending to an already exceptional meal. Dos Arepas consistently showcased attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes. The presentation of the food was impeccable, showcasing their dedication to visually appealing creations that were equally delightful to taste. Dos Arepas is not just about their Pabellón Empanadas and Fried Ice Cream; their entire menu is equally impressive. Their arepas, a traditional Venezuelan cornbread, were light, fluffy, and filled with a variety of delicious options for meat lovers and vegetarians alike. The freshness of the ingredients and the authentic flavors transported us straight to the heart of Venezuela. In summary, Dos Arepas is an absolute gem in Portland, OR, offering a culinary journey through the flavors of Venezuela. The Pabellón Empanadas are a must-try, and the surprise of Fried Ice Cream adds an extra layer of delight to the experience. From the inviting ambiance to the exceptional food, Dos Arepas is a dining destination that won't disappoint. Make sure to visit and savor the irresistible flavors they have to offer!

The carne arepa and carne patacon are amazing. I also really like the queso empanada. Amazing avocado sauce too. They have a full bar, so you can order a cocktail with your dinner. For dessert, fried ice cream and flan....I recommend getting both!
