If you didn’t pull into this little shopping center, you would never know what you’re missing. Tucked into a neighborhood road, this place feels like a true hidden gem. I’ve been here over 100 times, primarily back when it was Frankie’s, and I gotta say the quality hasn’t changed a bit. Plenty of seating indoors with a large bar and plenty of TV’s. Chips and salsa are something to write home about, so solid. White queso rivals any in DFW. Went on a Saturday and Sunday back to back and ordered the breakfast enchiladas both times. They were stuffed with breakfast sausage and cheese and then topped with hollandaise sauce and 2 eggs, incredible. The margaritas, specifically the frozen, are stiff and taste great. Service is friendly, and food/drinks come out quickly. Easiest 5 star review I’ve written in years.

Google
Food was excellent and affordable, staff is friendly and ready to serve you as you need it. The place is cozy and nice I give 3 stars in atmosphere cause more a regional music girl rather than a pop or salsa music girl. Play more banda or grupera. I will be back!!

It was lovely music wasn’t to loud but just right to listen Food was very good I love pasta and i enjoyed this my family too and our waiter was very courteous always looking forward to visiting here.

Yelp Review for Dos Arroyos Dos Arroyos is so good we went twice in one weekend. The fresh warm chips and salsa are a perfect start to the meal. The ambiance is warm and homey, making it feel like a hidden gem in a cute neighborhood in Richardson. The service is no-nonsense but efficient, and the food is an intriguing mix of classic Mexican flavors with a bit of a twist. The brisket enchiladas are outstanding, but the carne asada is even better. On our second visit, we went for brunch and were not disappointed. The breakfast quesadilla was massive and absolutely delicious. I had Agustin's enchiladas with mole sauce and steak, which were perfectly balanced. We capped it all off with churros that were the ideal sweet finish. The all-day happy hour is a huge bonus, and their house margaritas are on point. If you're in the area, Dos Arroyos is a must-visit.

Google
Dos Arroyos Comida Casera is fantastic! The carne asada was tender, flavorful, and perfectly grilled. The brisket enchiladas with mashed potatoes were a unique and satisfying twist. The margaritas were delicious and strong, and the fun 80’s playlist added to the lively vibe. We went back for brunch, and the breakfast quesadilla was perfect—flavorful and cooked just right. Bold flavors, great drinks, and a fun atmosphere—I’ll definitely be back!

Google
Absolutely amazing food the service is always great. Never disappoints and the chips and salsa are also amazing, deserved to be paired with enchiladas, burritos or tacos. I would definitely come here again and would always recommend their excellent service.

We’ve been visiting this location as well as other restaurants in the same family for years. We were in town on Friday and visited looking forward to our favorite meals. We love the charm and ambiance of this location, tucked in a corner, multiple dining rooms, authentically themed. We arrived at dinner time around 5:30pm. Despite being crowded, we were seated right away at an indoor table. They have two covered patios and one that is basically enclosed as well. I’m always glad to see so many people at our favorite places, as I know we’ll continue to be able to visit! One of the highlights of our visit is always that our drinks remain full, for the entire meal, no matter how long we stay. Frequent refills of iced tea cannot be understated – if you know, you know. The salsa is also fresh and regularly refilled. We started with a cup of queso, jalapeno cheese with spinach. Chips were refilled a couple of times so we could finish it. The queso was rather thin on this visit but is typically thick and gooey melty yummy. My husband ordered crispy tacos, not his normal choice, but he cleaned his plate in record time, so I think it’s safe to say he loved it. He went with ground beef tacos and black beans. I ordered Agustin’s enchiladas sub street corn for beans, my go to at this location as well as their sister locations. Delicious as always and excellent service!! I wish the parking situation was better, but again, I think it’s indicative of just how good the food is!

Google
Food was ok. Fajitas, Guiso, breakfast tacos and carne asada was ordered. The carne asada had a weird piece of processed cheese layered on it. Just a weird presentation and more like a steak vs a true skirt steak carne asada. The guiso was good, but the meat was really dry and felt like it had been sitting out for a while. server was really good, but just a different vibe. More rustic bar that serves mexican food than a true mexican food restaurant.

Yelp
Delicious every time! The salsa here is great, just the right amount of spice. Love Mexican Lasagna too, it's my favorite of many delicious dishes. Most of all, though, it's the friendly service that keeps us coming back!

Raghuram R.

Yelp
The interior is nice, and it's located in a food complex. The service was great. The waiter constantly checked on us, gave us nachos, and refilled our waters. We got seated immediately. Decent tex-mex spot with good quesadillas and enchiladas.

Jessica M.

Yelp
The service was very good. We loved the salsa. The queso is good- a bit on the spicy side. The tacos and enchiladas are delicious!

Jazmin T.

Yelp
Lorena was such an awesome bartender! She was so great with us! My parents come here regularly and I can see why! We started off with the brisket queso, and it is some of the best queso I have ever had in my life! The brisket in the wueso was so tender and juicy and flavorful that we ate the whole thing in less than five mins!!! I also ordered the Mexican martini, which was absolutely delicious, rimmed with tajin gave it that extra ummph of a flair!! Lastly the enchiladas, I got the beef and got wueso and the chili sauce on both of them since that queso was so dang good, and it was just enough! Super yummy, light, didn't feel overly stuffed. Left feeling happy and full!!

Lauren H.

Yelp
Delicious food! Service is always so great! Only thing that stinks is that they changed the $6 mimosas from being in a wine glass to now coming in a champagne flute so you get less for the same price. Lame.

Jeffrey K.

Yelp
It was All Great! Food! Service! First timer here and very impressed. Had cheese enchiladas with queso, my wife had been here before and she recommended. We'll be back!

Denim P.

Yelp
I've been twice. The 1st time I had the shrimp fajitas & loved them. I'd happily eat these everyday of my life. The 2nd time I had the cheese/chili con carne enchiladas. They were only okay. One thing I learned that is different from other TexMex restaurants I've tried is their tortilla soup is just that - tortillas & soup. If you want to add anything else, like chicken, you have to request it.

Beverly M.

Yelp
Excellent & efficient service. Food is hot, delicious & very generous. Great for families

Elliott F.

Yelp
We had the fajita beef nachos (not pictured) as an appetizer, brisket chimichanga (not pictured), churros (not pictured), Dos equis and frozen margarita (not pictured) and Agustin's Enchiladas with queso sauce and beef fajita. Food was really tasty and well priced ($69 before tip for the food mentioned above). The margarita was good and strong! I will be coming back for Happy Hour *$3.50 margs is a steal*! Knocking off a star for service. It was hard to get ahold of our waiter to bring us utensils and a drink menu & he seemed to be rushing us out. I'm hoping it was just because it was a Saturday evening and he was overwhelmed. Overall, I will be coming back again.

Asiah C.

Yelp
This location is one of my favorite spots. It's lowlit and spacious with plenty of bar, table, and patio seating. It's very easy to accommodate large parties. I usually go with a team of 8-10 people. The chips and salsa are one of my favorites. The salsa is smooth, not chunky or spicy, and great flavor. I'm exploring different items on the menu, but so far I like the Salmon Tacos and Beef Fajita Nachos. I've tried the Flautas and Chimichanga, but not too impressed with those. The Chimichanga wasn't fried as I expected and on a bed of tomato sauce which took away from the flavor and then I used my friend's Chipptle Sauce she received for a different dish to add flavor to the flautas. Happy hour deals are pretty great. I enjoy the house margs for $3.50. For birthdays, I was welcomed and surprised by the staff with a slice of cheesecake that had a tortilla chip lit on top vs a candle, they gave me a Sombrero to wear, and sang happy birthday.

Tait L.

Yelp
A fantastic business in a weird location - worth driving to! Best happy hour margarita I've had! FOOD - the food is fantastic. And I need to describe why. The most important piece is that items are freshly (scratch) made rather than using bags of precut cheap items. For example, I asked for vegetables instead of rice/beans. Most places would bring me the same cookie cutter frozen veggie mix you see over and over at places. Dos Arroyos gave me something special with a freshly julienned mix including zucchini, cabbage, mushrooms, and corn. The salsa gets its own section below so I won't discuss here but then I had the chicken mole and the taste of the sauce was delightful with a healthy mix of flavors without being spicy. Delicious! SALSA - oh yes!!!!! Serrano salsa!! The Serrano is a fantastic pepper that sits on the sideline too much as so many salsas go for the jalapeño. There's a different spice note to a Serrano but my favorite part is the unique oil it adds to the salsa mix that gives a round character that buttresses the spice into a small delightful tongue cocoon. HOUSE MARGARITA - clearly made in house without using a mix. Again, almost every Mexican place I go to uses a cheap salty mix for their house margarita- it's rare to find a place that offers a house margarita this good. And super duper rare (yeah, I said "super duper") to find a place making a delicious, scratch, house made margarita for $4.25 (Happy Hour pricing 11a-6p). The quality value proposition here is staggering. There are some people that would prefer to go drink a garbage house margarita for $3 down the street because it's cheaper, but be better than that and go have this house excellence. Give your server an extra dollar because they are working hard and your margarita is worth more than you're paying. ATMOSPHERE - quite enjoyable with music playing, low lnterior li STAFF - the staff is delightfully friendly and knowledgeable while being attentive! And, while I was sitting at the bar (my favorite place to sit and get the whole vibe of a place), I saw a woman taking a gently through things behind the bar - it was clear she was training a new bartender on items in the house as she explained where things were and what they offered. Although at the other end of the bar, she stopped for a moment and came over to ask if I was doing well and if I needed anything. That's rare! Typically, managers that are training use that as an insulation bubble to avoid interactions - "I can't talk, I'm training someone" - but Zelina and her staff takes a customer focused approach. I'm pretty sure it's in her DNA because you can't fake that HAPPY HOUR - long hours and great prices on a vast selection cement this happy hour firmly into a top tier. Enjoy the savings - get the house rocks Margarita - it blows away almost every house margarita I've tried elsewhere! OTHER - I believe the reason this place has "only" 4 stars on yelp is an American problem. Most Americans have been mouth-washed into believing good food is something else due to chains pushing lower quality, salt laden products to our country. This place "gets it" but if your palate is used to general consumption garbage, it's a bit of a shock. The detail to finer points here cannot be denied by this reviewer, though. The vegetables showed a perseverance to go above the norm when it's be a lot easier to use a cheaper option and most people wouldn't even notice. I love the attention to detail and am a lifelong fan! PARTING - if you think of it, ask if the GM Zelina is working and tell her how special this place is, and how much you enjoyed it. It means a lot to them to hear your feedback and she really cares about you and your experience. Cheers! Tait

Yelp
Food is consistent and atmosphere is good. Convient location makes this a great neighborhood Mexican restaurant.

Brooke P.

Yelp
I eat here all the time and absolutely love it. I always sit at the bar and get taken care of every time. The food is 100% consistent and they also have a great happy hour! I swear by the numero uno and we also love a $5 margarita. Bartenders are always so nice and friendly. Cheers!

Reba G.

Yelp
I never knew this place existed until a coworker had a birthday lunch here. This place is a really cute restaurant, and the food was pretty good. I ordered chicken flautas with black beans and street corn. The flautas were amazing, and the corn was flavored really well. Black beans were black beans. Overall, the staff was friendly, service was good, and prices were distant. I'll definitely come back when I'm in the area.

Melody D.

Yelp
Amazing restaurant if you're looking for a great Tex Mex brunch! Brisket enchiladas are MUST TRY (never had mashed potatoes in an enchilada before, but I don't regret it!) Everything on their menu is decently priced for the generous portions. We will definitely be back because the rest of their menu looks worth it!

Martin Y.

Yelp
Last Sunday was my second visit since it changed ownership, and both times were perfectly fine. The food won't knock you over, but it's considerably better than average. But the atmosphere during Sunday lunch/brunch is something I can't describe here. The manager offered us togo margs after we'd paid out, and I'll leave it at that.

Tess B.

Yelp
I loved this place when it was Frankies but has since gone down hill. We went for dinner and drinks last night and spent over $60. Our waitress was awful! Couldn't remember orders after being told, got one order wrong and then was hovering over us so close to listen to our conversation. She kept passing back and worth starring at us. Last the dessert was hard and cooked in old oil. The beer was not cold nor the glass ( suppose to be frosted) and it tasted like the chemicals they clean with behind the bar ( i know cause i use to bartend). I would have said something last night but there was no one to be found at the front as usual

Gill S.

Yelp
This place fits with all the other tex mex spots within Richardson: mediocre overall with a few highlights. I still think Pinedas is the best option for traditional tex mex in the richardson neighborhood, but I will say Dos Arroyos is slightly better compared to places like Dos Charros, Amigos, or Holy Frijoles. Walking in, I could see they focus on producing a low lit cantina environment on the inside. While I showed up at lunchtime, it was darkened skies that day so the inside was dimly lit. I felt like it was nighttime being in there. Great salsa. It felt fresh and I actually enjoyed how it tasted. The chips had a great crisp and had a great corn oil taste, but never feeling like too much. The brisket nachos felt like overloaded mini tostadas. With how the cheese melts like a blanket, its hard to eat these in one bite. You pretty much have to eat the whole nacho in one bite. It may benefit you to cut these with a fork and knife. The brisket itself was great, although I wish it had a smoky flavor. But it was moist and beefy, as it should be. You get 6 nacho chips, but as I say, this is NOT a small portion. Its basically one tacos worth of meat on each chip. The enchiladas here are OK. They hold well when cutting into them. The cheese enchilada is a glob of cheese melted on the inside with mediocre white queso poured on the outside. The chicken enchiladas had decent texture and moisture for the meat. The sour cream sauce was basic but satisfies. The rice and bean are the usual filler for the meal, but I will say both actually had better texture and flavor than most other places Ive been. While our server did a fantastic job, the line staff clearly have a hearing/reading problem. We asked for no jalapenos on our nachos and ended up with extra nachos. My partner asked for no tomatoes on their torta and still ended up with them. It seems the line staff are on auto pilot or do a poor job following substitution requests.

Yelp
So happy someone started a new thread for Dos Arroyos Comida since the other thread is truly about Frankie's, and we all know it has ALL changed, not just the name change. Returned for lunch today and our visit was so much better! Starting with our server Rudy who was Fabulous! The food was hot & yummy, liked that there is a choice of pinto & black beans, we opted for the black beans. My friend ordered tacos & I ordered the beef fajitas which were very tender & amazing. Oh, we are both hooked on the roasted street corn! Mmmmmm It's a must order with all its charr. Where I think $14-$18 for the majority of the entrees is a little steep we find ourselves going back for the street corn and chips & salsa. Dos Arroyo, you have won my tastebuds over...just not my wallet yet.

Sara M.

Yelp
Always wonderful food including the chips and salsa. Plus we always get fantastic service. A great neighborhood spot when the family wants good TexMex.

Sandy S.

Yelp
Update 2022: Staff is wonderful! They are flexible with my vegan needs. Here's a tip if you are vegan: order Sandy's Burrito. They make this for me all the time and I'm trying to get it added to the menu. It is a huge burrito with: Black beans White rice Guacamole Pico Lettuce Julienned fresh vegetables They toss it on grill to make crispy and serve with the most petite order of fries I like to eat it with siracha which they do have!!! If you are vegetarian or vegan here's what you need to know: rice has chicken stock and refried beans have meat. The black beans are vegan and they DO have plain rice in the kitchen (a lot of servers don't know this but they use it for the Mexican fried rice). While they do have a veggie section on the menu, heed my warnings above. If your vegan you're going to need to do some menu modifications. Elsa is the best. She is practically a member of our family

Kristen K.

Yelp
We used to love this restaurant, but today our food came out cold, and nobody could eat it! The fajita meat was so dry!

Debra B.

Yelp
Been dining at the neighborhood café for many years and it's just the sweetest family ran café with a wonderful menu personable staff, and the best ambience ever

Jeff M.

Yelp
3 stars for the chicken. Seriously wouldn't recommend this place for the service we received. I'm disappointed because it looked like a nice place but I don't like to be ignored and even though it was Friday, and for my anniversary to celebrate my wife and I, could've been better. The drink we payed for $12 was a joke and the only acceptable person there was the host. Perhaps maybe it is better to go during the week but yeah service was absolutely horrible. We went next door to have desert to the snow cone place rather then wait another 20 minutes.

Yelp
Came here for cinco de Mayo-not what I expected. It was so packed and loud. Thought it must be good! The wait was forever and the drinks weren't yummy :/ or I just don't like mine that strong. It was over priced and idk just not that good for that price. We got fajita, chicken, shrimp combo. Everyone seemed to have a great time, dancing, singing etc.

Ondrayz M.

Yelp
Service: really good Food: ok Bathroom Area: worse than some of the third-world countries I've been to. There's soap and toilet paper, so that's cool. I'm actually surprised that my journey to the bathroom and the bathroom itself, was so horrible, considering the neighborhood this restaurant is in. Management: Not cool

Marla P.

Yelp
Oh noooooo! Wait staff refused to wear a mask while serving. I'm immunocompromised and the manager came out to inform me his staff does not, and will not wear a mask. We came early at 4ish this evening and sat outside. This has been my FAVORITE MEXICAN restaurant since moving to TX from NJ. I'm originally from CA and definitely know good Mexican food. I drive across town from northwest Plano. You'd think with the less than minimum wages earned, as a waitress, you'd want to please the customer and stay safe. TEXAS remember the entire WORLD is still in a pandemic!!!!

Mike R.

Yelp
Weird beef fajitas. They had a strange, grey, almost slimy texture to them. Didn't look natural. Looked like fake meat someone coated in vaseline. Gross. I'll come back, and I've had good food here before, but I'm getting something else. And $30 for a "lunch special" isn't very special.

Haris R.

Yelp
Drinks are strong and cheap, but food and service definitely leaves much to be desired. Good place for happy hour.

Amber F.

Yelp
So so good. Went on a Sunday. Can't wait to go back. Chicken chimichanga. 10 House frozen margarita. 10 chips and queso. 10 I enjoyed it so much. Great food. great price.

Jesus S.

Yelp
I am originally from Mexico, so I know authentic Mexican food when I see it. This place may have food that's (dare I say) even better than my grandma's! Great staff, great service, and an overall great atmosphere! Cannot recommend enough!

Kay R.

Yelp
Excellent Mexican / Tex--Mex restaurant. Staff is very nice and welcoming. Great atmosphere. And the food is even better. I'll definitely come back here.

Kevin N.

Yelp
I love coming here for some local tex mex. It's in a cute area that can get pretty crowded. The chips and salsa are delicious. The salsa has a great spice and is addiction. The margarita's here are dangerously strong. I always get the brisket enchilada. 4 large enchilada's filled with mashed potatoes topped with brisket and sauce. It's to die for, and I highly recommend it.

Keven W.

Yelp
We decided to eat here since my wife wanted to try the desert around the area and then from there decide on where we would want to eat. I saw this place and I said sure why not try it. I was not too hungry, but I wanted to give it a shot. I ordered the torta with the pork and it ended up being better than expected. The chips and salsa was pretty good, but not good enough for a 2nd filling. Overall, service was great here and enjoyed myself here.

Devon G.

Yelp
I needed a pit stop for a quick bite and drink. This was convenient and hidden in a shopping center. I might have just gotten a server was checked out. He kept rushing me, interrupting when I was chatting with someone else, and just didn't seem to be welcoming. It was frustrating to be one out of three tables and they were being treated well and I was left wanting more. When I have to get up and get my own silverware to eat, it's a pretty big let down. The margarita was nice and not too sweet and the food was decent but, I need a bit more for their price point.

Michael M.

Yelp
Amazing food, amazing margaritas! The only place I eat queso! Friendly service. The music is usually at a good volume.

Jack M.

Yelp
Amazing always. My favorite mexican spot. I've come at least every month for last 2 years.

Brixton P.

Yelp
This is the best Tex-Mex restaurant in the DFW area. Two thumbs up for the amazing food and service. I had the shrimp tacos and it was very tasty and robust with lots of shrimps. Also, save room for dessert because you don't want to miss having the tres leches cake. This place can get really crowded on the weekends so get there before 6 PM.

Robin R.

Yelp
Our favorite Mexican restaurant, and we have a few, but every time we visit we are reminded of how great it is. It was formerly called Frankie's, but although the name has changed the food/recipes are the same. Veggie enchiladas are the BEST! I love their interpretation most - cheese enchiladas with sour cream sauce, topped with sauteed FRESH veggies. I could eat them for every meal of the day. Brisket enchiladas are fantastic, too. If your go-to is fajitas - you'll be impressed by the thick juicy slices of meat. Great quality ingredients is what makes the difference here. Can't rave enough about them. Oh, and I forgot to mention their salsa - so good!!! We just finished eating, we are completely stuffed, and writing this review is making us hungry for more.

Robert D.

Yelp
Food was awesome Recommend the Red Snapper and Shrimp It maybe the most expensive but well worth it. Top shelf Margarita is on point. The bartender Lorena V. She knows her recipes. Absolutely amazing job and great service. Will definitely be back. Thanks again.

Christina N.

Yelp
I would give this place 6/5 stars if I could! Incredible happy hour margaritas!!! Excellent service, delicious food and strong tasty drinks! Tucked away, it was a hidden gem with a lovely cozy patio. Perfect lunch date! They have happy hour M-Sa, 11am-6pm, all day Sunday. Also M-F lunch specials. Our server was amazing. Masks are required until you are seated. Excellent chips and salsa. I ordered the enchiladas lunch special and I cannot believe it was only $8! It was as delicious as it looked! Highly recommend visiting this place!

Kurt V.

Yelp
In Texas there are many good Mexican restaurants and a very few excellent ones...Frankie's is one of the EXCELLENT ones! This place has it all...the setting, the ambience, the service, the food, the drinks, the desserts...they do not miss a beat! Just walking up to the place you feel like you are in for something special and not only does it not let you down, it only gets better from there! The chips and salsa are delicious, always a great sign at a Mexican restaurant. While you wait for your order, they bring you a tostada, and I got to say it was amazing, in fact, I did not even know I liked tostadas. Then they brought my order, the Shrimp Tacos...AMAZING! This is a family owned restaurant, started and owned by two brothers, Augustin, and you guessed it.. Frankie! They say they are serving "family favorites". It is a good thing I did not grow up in their family because if I did, I would be about 500 pounds! Seriously, this place is SO good, you simply cannot get enough of it!

Leaf H.

Yelp
This was my 1st visit here 29 May 2021. I wanted to try the spinach tamales. The masa tasted fine but I expected spinach since that is what the menu stated. Low rating is because a hairline strip of spinach is NOT what I was expecting for spinach tamale. The proper name for this tamale would be masa. The service was great--wait time for takeout was acceptable.

Chandra J.

Yelp
Went here on Friday for lunch with some friends. The food was impressive, but the service left very much to be desired. The restaurant is located in a neighborhood that suddenly opens up to a shopping centre with the restaurant in a corner. The shopping centre is super busy, so be ready to park a little far away. My friends were already there, so I had a seat. It took a little while for our waiter to come by. He asked for our drink orders and I saw that they had happy hour from 11am-6pm, but I opted for just a water with lemon. A couple of my friends asked for extra salsa and that took a while for it to be brought to us. I checked out the menu and decided on the chicken fajita tacos. I opted for all beans instead of rice and beans. I got black and refried beans. The waiter told me that he would bring both, but when my food came out this did not occur. My platter looked amazing, but my tacos were a little dry, so I asked for some lettuce. The lettuce did help a little bit, but the salsa helped even more. This spot has some of the best salsa I've had in a while. I wish I could've eaten more, but my stomach told me no. I ended up taking my lunch home and had two more meals! My entire lunch was just $8! I did get charged $1 for the lettuce though making my grand total $9. I think for the future I would get take out here as the service was super slow and lack luster.

Jessica Jones M.

Yelp
We came for a family evening and the reviews among us were mixed but the general consensus was that everything needed more flavor. Mexican food should be full of taste and this didn't even seem like it had simple salt and pepper. The tamales hardly had any meat, the ranchero sauce on the enchiladas was not good- almost bitter, the burger was ok, the brisket enchiladas were reported to be good, the fajitas were good but needed some flavor and the meat was tough. We might give them another try sometime and see if they are better. The service was excellent and all staff were very attentive and kind.

Yelp
This was our first visit since this location changed owners/names and we were pretty disappointed. The service was good, except we had to ask for refills twice, which isn't that big of a deal. Then, the manager came to ask how everything was as we were being served, so I told him the chips and salsa were good (and they are). If he had waited a little longer, I could have asked why the chicken chimichanga wasn't fried and my brisket enchiladas were tough and unrolling themselves. I had assumed this was going to be the same quality of food, as the manager said that the restaurant was of the same family, but it wasn't. Besides the chips and salsa, all of the flavors were just off? If I ever go back, I will get something basic instead of the specialties to see if it's just us or the restaurant.

Yelp
Not impressed with this place at all. I judge all Mexican restaurants by the quality of their chips and salsa and their margaritas and in my opinion, this place fell way short. #1 - I was first put off by the host that "greeted" us. Unbeknowst to us, we were trying to come in through the patio door which was locked. Once we found the correct door, there was a guy standing off to the side of the entrance rather than behind the hostess desk and he was just looking at us (rather than saying "Welcome" or "Table for 2?"). So we just kinda stood there looking around for a hostess who was going to seat us before we looked back over at him and realized he was the guy. At that point I was thinking, "I hope this isn't a bad omen of what this place will be like". It was. #2 - the chips were think instead of light and crispy and the salsa was nothing short of mediocre. #3 - the margarita I ordered (on the rocks), wasn't bad, but it was no where near $11 good! I first learned of this restaurant while attending an outdoor food truck event in Sachse and their Sachse location provided the alcohol at the outdoor bar. The lady who was serving said they made up a fresh batch of premixed margaritas with fresh squeezed limes and they were delicious at $7 a cup! Unfortunately, I didn't taste any of that freshness or quality at this location. Maybe I have to go to an outdoor food truck park to get one of their better tasting margaritas? #4 - The food was the most disappointing of all. The server brought it out to us fairly quickly with the obligatory "hot plate" warning as she set it down, however, the food was just barely warm. There was nothing "hot" about it. The taste was OK but serving food only luke warm just really ruined the meal for me. #5 - Last but not least, the music. Although they were playing Mexican music, it was loud and the genre was somewhat obnoxious sounding - like Mexican hip hop or rap music. Despite my underwhelming experience, they didn't seem to be hurting for business with a steady steam of patrons trickling in as we were leaving. This place is a one and done for me.

Yelp
Found this place on Yelp and it's reasonably close to my office. You have to know this place is there - and apparently a lot of people do, and for good reason. The service is superior for a Tex-Mex restaurant, the food is great and the prices won't break your lunch budget. I will definitely be back. A lot.

Yelp
First time here and we have had a great experience. In Texas the chips and salsa set the tone and they did well. The jalapeño queso is delicious. Between our group we ordered beef fajitas, carne asada & chicken chimichanga with queso sauce. The fajitas and carne asada come with beans and rice and some other extras. My spouse loves the refried beans! Mixed the beans with their rice and no food was left over! Fajitas and carne asada came out sizzling and cooked to our liking. The chimichanga is going to be a repeat meal. As far as dining during the pandemic they have done a fine job. Half of the restaurant is closed off. Seating available at every other table. Hand sanitizer offered at every table. Servers were doing a Great job at cleaning and sanitizing. Lots of hustling with all of the staff. We will be back and recommend this place.
