Dos Toros is my go-to place for quick, delicious Mexican food! Whether I’m grabbing a burrito, bowl, or tacos, the food is always fresh and flavorful. The portion sizes are perfect, and the ingredients taste high-quality. It's a great spot for takeout when you’re craving something tasty but don’t have time to sit down. The service is fast, and the staff is friendly, making the whole experience smooth and easy. If you're looking for a convenient, flavorful meal on the go, Dos Toros is definitely worth a visit! Came all the way from CT just for a double steak quesadilla to fulfill a very late night craving and was not disappointed. Joanne and her staff were so friendly. I will always stop by any chance I get.

I always get frustrated when I order tacos here. The tortillas stick to the containers they serve it in (see pics). When I try to pick it up, the tortilla rips because it’s still stuck and the whole bottom falls out of my taco. Then my taco is in a bunch of pieces. This happen almost every single time. It also happens at their other locations too. I don’t get it. Whatever.

Since I work in the Area I always walk past this small spot. today I decided to.come in and I was surprised with the warm welcome fast service and the food was good and tasty. I will definitely b3 back here and I would recommend coming here for anyone....

Went with a coworker to grab lunch after a long day; were greeted by a very nice staff! Place is compact and was clean! We had a blast just ordering our food!

I've been to several Dos Toros, but there's just something about this location !! 10/10 the employees are so nice and welcoming and pay attention to exactly how i like my order. Love this place love THIS location, if you're in the area please visit this location. AMAZING!!!!

Amazing with food allergies and cross contamination. Just ask for all of the food that you want from the back and clean utensils and they are wonderful!! Highly recommend. Least allergens in the steak (chicken has soy).

I wanted to take my daughter who is visiting to a place that can cater to her dietary restrictions i called around and a friend suggested this place. I called ahead and the gentleman who answered the phone was so nice and walked me through all the options. needless to say I was surprised and amazed I love it here and I will be back or order online in the future I will also be suggesting to my friends...Great place!!

I sometimes go to the other Dos Toros locations, but this one is definitely the worst. Sometimes the chicken looks dry, burnt, & crusty (see pic) and recently an employee snapped at me for leaning on the glass counter. (I've read many other reviews about attitude from the staff - Rawr!). I always get frustrated when I order tacos here. The tortillas stick to the container they serve it in (see pics). When I pick it up it breaks apart into a million pieces - then I'm forced to eat my tacos with a fork - wtf? This happen almost every single time. It also happens at their other locations too. THIS MEXICAN RESTAURANT CANT MAKE A TACO??? I don't get it. There is no seating here. Actually, there are a couple tables and small seating area, but it's always blocked off for no apparent reason - and it never seems like anyone can sit there except employees. So I'll go eat my broken tacos out in the cold. Whatever.

Just left this location. This was my first time visiting this location, it was a disappointing experience from the start. I had some questions about the food options, the staff was unfriendly and unhelpful, with a noticeable attitude. I haven't even tried the food yet, but the poor service has left a bad taste in my mouth. I'd recommend ordering online instead. Hopefully, they work on bettering their customer service skills

Unbeknownst to me (especially since we were visiting the City), Dos Toros is a local chain street taco shop - specifically, according to their website and "About Us" page, serving Bay Area mission-style street tacos. There are a ton of NYC locs (I screenshotted a list of all the locs so check out my pic) and we just happened to be in and around Columbia U that day strolling and exploring that area, had an impromptu hunger pang, happened to be walking past this shop and saw that it looked chill and not crowded and decided to try it out. We weren't looking for fancy. We weren't looking for tourist-y. We WERE looking for cheap-eats. It was 230PM on a beautiful Monday and we just needed a little something-something to tide us over until dinner (reservs at Mercato in Hell's Kitchen near our hotel - AMAZING and QUAINT little local Italian restaurant - see my review as well as other places we've been to on our City visits!). Service was excellent - friendly with smiles all around and super accommodating. Between the 2 of us, we shared 3 street tacos (manager dude was nice enough to sell me a single taco a la carte), a small bag of chips, small side of guac, a bottled soda and a bottled water. The tortillas were filled to the gills - no complaints there. The menu had some creative options. They build the tacos in front of you a la Chipotle or Cava. Nothing different really. I will say I agree with one of the Yelpers who said the tortilla is so thin it breaks apart after a couple bites in. It's a function of the tortilla being stuffed to the gills which I wouldn't have any other way buttttttttt if they could double up on the tortilla like a true street taco, that would do the trick. As it is, expect it to be a messy-eat, lean over the paper tray when you bite in and definitely have a fork handy - you'll need it. PRO TIP: WHEN ORDERING STREET TACOS, ASK FOR THEM TO DOUBLE UP THE TORTILLA. Other than that, we enjoyed our taco snack sitting outside at one of their tables. No seating inside btw. So if it hadn't been a nice day out, we would have passed on this place. Prices aren't break-the-bank but you'll still shell out. For all we ordered (for 2), we paid about $30. I guess that's about as cheap as you'll get in NYC. I'm going to say that, bottom line, Dos Toros was decent but not insanely amazing. Not bad but nothing to write home about. Did the trick and would come back if I'm looking for a tide-me-over type meal in a non sit-down joint and don't want to pay an arm and a leg.

Decent place for Mexican take out. Online order was ready on time. The spicy Brussels sprouts as a side were a nice addition to my burrito. Unfortunately they don't really offer any proper indoor seating and the drinks require an opener which I only realized after leaving the shop.

I went to order a burrito customized and the lady in the picture boldly refused service and told me to take a pre-made one. These people need to be sent back to their country the disrespect is incredible. She literally refused and the manager supported her as if he didn't know english. Why are they working there? I am filing a complaint with BBB as well stay tuned. Don't go there who knows what's in the pre-made burritos at this point that lady looks dirty anyway. I wonder how much they are getting paid.

I think Dos Toros is so much better than Chipotle because their sauces are actually spicy, but the service here is just the worst I've ever experienced. Even ordering ahead so that I can be in and out, I catch an attitude. I wish there was a way I didn't have to interact with their staff.

Everything was fine with the nachos I ordered until I found this big piece of plastic in my food. How do you guys allow a huge piece of plastic to get into my food like this. This place better be lucky I did not fully bite into this because I am already paranoid as it is about my food and I was able to notice it mid bite. I will never order from here again or recommend this place to anyone and I will be posting this on social media as well.

I visited Dos Toros on my lunch break and got the steak burrito with all of the good stuff - rice, black beans, steak, spicy sauce, sour Cream, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese. I would say that the burrito as a whole wasn't as tasty as I would have hoped. The seasoning wasn't really all the way there and tasted pretty bland. Staff was very quick with making the order although they weren't really the friendliest. The restaurant itself is pretty small even to just take the order. No dine in or outdoor seating. No vaccine card needed to enter.

This Dos Toros is always consistent with their quality, portions, and taste. I was introduced to Dos Toros through this location and like their take on the steak and chicken bowls. The chips are a nice crunchy addition, and I do like the way their meats are seasoned too. The chips and guac are good too! If you're craving Chipotle, you should just go down the street. Dos Toros tastes different and is a solid option.

I am sitting outside on their white bench eating a chicken bowl with mild haberno sauce. Filled with onions and green peppers and tomatoes. The service is welcoming by Daisy the server and I got o meet the general manager, Joanne. My lucky day. I love this establishment. The ambiance is welcoming and the service is precise and speedy. You need to try this place if you haven't. I wish they had TIP jars or containers, somewhere. The food is outstanding. All women overtime, I have entered. Si, se puedes! Enjoy the visit. It's worth it. ​

The food is very good, and the price is better than the Mexican food trucks that line up on Broadway around Columbia University. Another thing I appreciate is being able to order food without being requested for a tip. When I went to pick up my order I asked the employee about giving a tip and he told me thanks but they don't accept tips. What a pleasant surprise. The person I spoke to was very friendly unlike the many I don't care fast food workers you come into contact with at many food establishments. All in all a very pleasant experience

I know this sounds crazy but I eat Dos Toros at least once a week. I've tried several different locations and this one is by far my favorite. The steak here is always tender and juicy versus other locations where the steak has been tough and chewy. The customer service is nearly excellent, I never have to wait more then 10 minutes before receiving my order. They work very quick and efficient. I've had no problems with this restaurant. The management seems to be very good considering what I've experienced every visit.

Food was great. I had the build your own salad bowl with sweet potato, pickled onions, tomatoes, farro, cooked peppers & onions and impossible meat. So good. Service was helpful. They (cook and front staff) looked at the ingredients list for me due to my dietary restrictions. So thoughtful. Ambiance is small you can not eat inside but there are tables outside.

Ordered via DoorDash and got the Pollo Asada bowl with cauliflower rice and the Carne asada taco. Both were really tasty. The cauliflower rice could use a bit more seasoning/flavor. The taco left me wishing I got a second one. Note for next time.

Decided to go out for lunch on my lunch break and stopped by Dos Toros. I have been here before but I'm the city and was a huge fan of their burrito bowls. Walking in, I was kind of disappointed there was no dine eat option. Just grab and go. The service was cool and restaurant was clean. There was light traffic inside and was helped right away. Now on to the food. It was mediocre at best. I was having high hopes but was not impressed. To start, the rice was good but the portions was not good at all. It's literally a small layer on the bottom of the bowl. I asked for chicken and they put this tiny scoop of chicken. I asked if they can put extra chicken, the lady said you want double chicken. I said I didn't know that scoop was a single serving lol. The toppings were good and fresh. They pack it with the toppings but because there's very little rice and chicken it's really like you're eating the toppings. I was not impressed, but it wasn't terrible. I just wished it would've been more balanced. I probably would go back to give it another try hoping there would be someone else making the plate lol

Don't bother ordering online during lunch or dinner rush. You will be pushed to the back of the line, and they will never get to your order until everybody who lined up in person gets their orders first. Doesn't matter if you ordered half an hour prior. Also, don't even think about waiting inside. They will kick you out.

I came in expecting them to mess up my order so I made sure to talk super slow and clear and even had the guy repeat the order back to me. They still messed it up. I ordered a pork burrito and a steak quesadilla and they gave me a pork quesadilla. The guy messed up my order because while he was starting your quesadilla he passed it on to someone else because a lady came in to check on her order so he stopped working on mine to work on hers. To make matters worse when I told them the order was wrong the lady gave me a lot of attitude and it didn't help that she has a conversation in front of me with another staff member and all I could understand is "gringo" multiple times. At least if you want to speak poorly about your customers speak it to their face in a language they can understand.

Its ok. Not super awesome but not bad either. Just a different version of chipotle. The staff is efficient but not the friendliest. The food is kinda sloppy but still tastes good.

Fresh ingredients and very generous portions. The general manager Joanne was very accommodating and the staff are friendly and very efficient. I love the sweet potato tacos! Another plus is how they pack up your food. Dos toros Is take out only and my order was still In tact and warm after the almost 10 minute walk home.

Ordered delivery online from here a little before 6pm today for me and my family. Got a call from one of their employees 45 minutes later stating the order couldn't be fulfilled because the store was closing at 6pm. This is not listed anywhere online, and there were options for delivery from 7pm-8pm. Was charging my phone, so they were no longer answering by the time I saw it and called the store; the employee (Roberto) left what seemed to be his phone # on my voicemail, however upon calling it was the wrong #. Instead of getting the food I paid $31 for, I got nothing along with the fun task of scrambling to see where I could buy dinner for my family last minute before the 8pm curfew tonight. I'm very familiar with Dos Toros, as I've been eating at their Carmine St location since they opened and I live around the corner from this one (even met the founders at a Yelp event years ago). I've never experience such poor service from them. If they cannot fulfill the orders they have available online, they should not try operating an online ordering system. I will be getting my money back, and I think I'm down with this place.

I work a few blocks away and this has become my go-to spot to pick up lunch. Even when a cold wind is blowing off the Hudson I'll make the hike. The food is good, well packaged and still warm by the time I get back to the office. Nothing is more disappointing than warm carnitas after all. What keeps me coming back, however, is the workers. They now recognize me as a regular. Every time I come in they greet me by name and with a smile. Even if they are getting slammed by a lunchtime rush they're always super calm and respectful. When they're not too busy and we can chat for a few moments they're always fun and interesting. Even noticed and complimented me on a new haircut once. It may not seem like much but such interactions really help my mood and energy during a long work day.

My colleagues and I had the opportunity to enjoy lunch today... to be honest, it's an elevated chipotle if you want a baseline. Though the guac isn't anything to call home about. The staff is prompt, friendly, and ready to serve... it's refreshing and the food is delicious. I'm enjoying the bowl as a type and it's becoming a task to pull myself away from the meal. Food: 4/5 Staff: 4.5/5 Location: 4/5 Ambiance: shrug (it's take out only sooooooo)

This place is better than the more nationally known Mexican fast casual joint. I'll leave that to the imagination but it starts with C. I feel like this is more small time (no ordering app yet? What the heck), but the focus is on quality food and happy customers. And I haven't had an unhappy experience yet! I've had their burritos and bowls. I prefer them meatless. They do have an impossible plant base ground beef bowl, and you'd never know it wasn't the real thing. Guac is extra. But you can add it to any dish without them reminding you it's extra! I live across the street from the "other" chain. This one not only is 30 blocks away, but I wait in line and can't preorder...and prefer this like a million times more. Don't miss it. And pro tip? If you get a bowl, ask for a side tortilla. It's warmed up and delicious.

Great food and quick service. Keep in mind that the "DT Quesadilla" is pretty much just a burrito that has been made crispy. Regardless, it is still a delicious item.

it was very very bad. I ordered tacos but the shell was awful. it was super soft and moist and couldn't hold my meat and cheese, meaning that all the fillings fell out of the bottom of the shell. the employees hadn't put a fork in my bag so when I realized that the tacos couldn't hold my fillings i was forced to walk back to get one. the worst part is that after I had to go through all that trouble to get the utensils needed to eat my taco it tasted bad. basically I had to pay 12 dollars for a disgusting taco with a soggy shell that drops all of your fillings onto your plate making it a mess of soggy shell pieces mixed with meat and cheese.

Delivery Buyers Beware....I hate Chipotle and love Dos Toro'a but this location has let me down 2x now. I have used the Dos Toro's app on both occasions. Today I orders a Steak Quesadilla, Can of Coke and Chips and Guacamole. My order was delivered in prompt time, but Quesadilla was cold, my Can of Sprite was warm (oh yeah, they called and told me they were out of Coke, so I changed it to Sprite. Not sure how they can be out of Coke at 2pm on a Sat.) and they forgot my guacamole. The chips also came with a measly handful 15 chips top. I'm done with this place!

This location is by far the BEST Dos Toros there is ! When i mean the BEST i really mean THE BEST! The staff are ALL amazing! Very hard working, The manger was very attentive i knew she was the manger because she had a black collar shirt, greeted me from the moment i walked in, said good bye when i walked out, & let's not forget about the foood !!!!! Omg !!! Delicious! I always get steak, their steak never fails me always juicy and on point! I've eaten at Dos Toros at so many other locations but this specific location has always given the best experience!! I've eaten here six times already. I will never visit a DOS Toros location unless if it's this one. 10/10 if i can give more then 5 stars i would !!!

Slightly better Chipotle for about the same price, maybe a little more expensive overall. I got a burrito with pollo asado, black beans, yellow rice, corn salsa and pico de gallo, crumbled queso fresco, and the medium verde sauce. It was good! I didn't think it was amazing but I think the meat was good and well-seasoned, all the ingredients seemed fresh, and the portion was pretty solid. Would eat again!

I've had Dos Toro in the past and both the chicken bowl and steak burrito were okay. Today I ordered a chicken burrito that was totally unacceptable. The pinto beans were so undercooked I thought I was eating peanuts in my burrito and to get my blood pressure pumping even more, when I opened the burrito it was overloaded with these peanuts- I mean undercooked pinto beans. Dos Toro please have your kitchen staff check the beans to ensure they are fully cooked. I could have lost a tooth today. Besides the undercooked beans the chicken and guacamole were fine.

The workers are extremely rude and uncaring , they all have an attitude and just chat with eachother and ignore all the customers , they're also terrible at serving things to people without having a nasty attitude Absolute no exceptions the ENTIRE staff is nasty. Was recommended this place from a friend who is from the Bay Area. Dos Toros is a SF mission style taqueria. It is similar to Gordo's but not as good. Overall its alright, price is pretty steep, but ingredients are good. Burrito was kinda small for $15

Was in the mood for some fresh authentic Mexican food. So fresh and delicious. I purchase a chicken bowl. Chicken was fresh and tender with well seasoned rice and pinto beans. I would bedefinitely visiting this gem again. Staff was friendly and welcoming.

Ordered veg food. The taco was really good! Service took forever since there was a long time. They had outdoor seating and the area was decent. However overall location is kind of a sketchy area with limited lights.

I've ordered several times since my earlier review... the food has been great and available on time. Our usual order is chicken burrito + veggie burrito. Reliably tasty and filling!

It is my regular lunch spot, and definitely love the food here. My only complaint is that the quantity is not consistent. But I think on average, the quantity is about right, so still happy

Horrible customer service. I waited 2 hours for the wrong order to arrive. Never received the right order. I spoke to an employee who was super rude when I asked her for her name. I asked for a manager and they put a 'Joanne' on the phone after I was told 'Jennifer' is the manager. Joanne was very rude as well and didn't have resolution on the issue. She didn't know what to say when I asked for corporates number. The girls were in the background laughing so I'm assuming she wasn't a manager and if she was she needs customer service training. I will never ever order from here again. I will also contact corporate on the rude behavior and the fact I never received my food.

The staff at this Dos Toros location are AMAZING. Truly, completely selfless, upbeat, straight-up lifesavers. Tonight they rescued me from a complete catastrophe. I was hosting dinner for my students during finals week at Columbia, and the caterer I had already paid for bailed at the last second (looking at you, Halal Guys) under the pretense that their computer had never logged my $300 order. I was literally just roaming around Morningside Heights looking for another fast casual restaurant to take pity on me and feed 20 or so people within the hour. A manager immediately showed sympathy and took it upon herself to plate 22 burrito bowls even though she wasn't 100% sure they had the capacity for it. Meanwhile the cashier very cheerfully taped up all the bowls in paper bags for me and individually poured another 20+ mini containers of salsa. They basically whipped up a catering order within 30 minutes just because my students and I had been left in the lurch, and the manager was even incredibly patient with me explaining slight changes some of the bowls needed for dietary restrictions. I tried to tip them cash but they very responsibly informed me that the company doesn't allow additional tips, and I should write a comment online instead. Since I'm having trouble figuring out the best place to send it on their website, I'm posting it here on Yelp! Really hope the powers-that-be see this, but even more so I hope the folx who helped me tonight see this and feel fantastic for what a truly good deed they did for my students!

Got a steak quesadilla from here in between classes and it was great! Definitely more like a pressed/toasted burrito like their description says. I also got a mini bag of free chips so that was a nice add-on. The quesadilla was super filling and the steak was flavorful. I think next time I'd try the chicken!

My friend and I both bought the Chicken Verde Bowl and it was alright. I didn't really like it that much since it didn't taste exactly the way I thought it would: it was not spicy at all.

First and last visit. I even ordered two. T.T Smh. The girl with dyed blonde hair is terribly rude and come off as an asshole. Everyone is wearing a mask, and it's difficult for everyone to hear. It's not my fault you can't hear me and I can't hear you. There's an actual menu, which I asked for. She said something I couldn't hear, but I eventually made out that she was saying "chicken, pork, or steak". I responded steak, but she couldn't hear me and kept getting mad at me. At the cashier, a different person asked if we were paying together. I said separately, cuz my two friends and I had came in as a group. She only grabbed one of my two orders and I said "I got two" and pointed at the other one too. But I guess she didn't hear me and we had a misunderstanding? She thought i meant i only had one. The previous girl yells "She has two" and proceeds to call me 'loca', loud enough to hear. Y'all. I don't have to take Spanish to know that word. Sorry, it's my first time there? Sorry, I couldn't hear you? Sorry, I misunderstood? But damn.

People there are nice even if sometimes no one seems to know what's going on. The food is nothing special and the tortillas have a bit of an off flavor. Their salads are unique but not good. I think in a pinch this place is not bad but I think there is something about their starches that reminds me of chemicals.

Mediocre and they charge for Guac on yer tacos. People working there are working hard, but I won't be back.

When this place opened up, the line was around the block, it was like the premiere of a movie. I finally got a chance to try this place recently and my first experience was okay. Since I am doing no meat for lent, I want to make sure I have my favorite food (tacos/Mexican food) with vegan options/style. When I read the majority of their items were vegan (minus the meat, cheese, and sour creme) I was on board! They even have the impossible meat ground beef and I was excited to try. I a bit disappointed they left out the hot sauce that I was dying to try. I will give this place a second shot and maybe try the nachos that also look great! The portion is way more than chipotle and def worth the price because of the portion and quality of the meat and veggies. I will come back to give it a second shot. The place was clean and the servers were very hospitable.

Dos Toros Taqueria is simply fantastic. It is nice place. Every single thing we ordered was great and the menu itself was to die for. Very good selection and outstanding customer service. But try Dos Toros Taqueria for yourself and you decide.
