Dosa Factory - Review - Cambridge - Boston - The Infatuation

"As a general rule of thumb, if you see a counter and a handful of booths in the back of an Indian grocery store, you should probably order something from there and eat it - it’s going to be good. For proof, head to the Dosa Factory and get a savory pancake so big it could almost be used as a kettlebell. They have fun varieties like Peking duck and corn and jalapeno in addition to the standard vindaloo and tikka masala. And if you’re not in the mood for a dosa at all, you can explore the large menu that covers just about anything you’re likely to find at an Indian restaurant. Don’t leave without getting one of the pastries (we liked the pistachio roll best)." - Dan Secatore

Taste wise is just ok. Indians who miss their home cuisine, can come and cherish their taste buds. I was in US for only three weeks, may be that’s the reason didn’t find it great. More you miss Indian food, better this place might taste.

If I could give zero stars, I would. We ordered a plate of momo with other things. After eating dosa and pani puri we received a plate of momo. After eating one we realized the chicken was not just undercooked but completely raw. We complained to the staff who seemed like an owner. While the server was sorry about it, the owner was unapologetic. She did want not to refund us for our meal instead she offered us a replacement. She said that we ate the other food and it’s not her fault that we were served a raw food. We told her serving raw food can be dangerous but she literally said she didn’t care. I will be reporting this place to department of health and food services.

Okay place for Indian food. I won't say it's authentic, but it's not too bad either. There is no consistency in the taste and feel of the food. Staff is generally good in talking but sometimes they suck in service. Excessive use of leftover food in adjustments. Toilet generally unclean. Hope to see more cleanliness, better service, consistency in the taste and improved quality of food. There is an Indian grocery store in the restaurant. You can buy raw and frozen Indian food, spices, veggies and some fruits.

I've only tried the meat samosas so far but they were outstanding. The meat was tender, and it came with a cute little salad. I paid 6 bucks for 3. I'm definitely coming back and will update my review when I try other foods!!

Overall fairly good Indian food, not the best by any means but served in large portions! What I liked most was the variety of items on a truly extensive menu, but what I didn't appreciate was the wait time. Although there were only 6 or 7 people in line it took quite a long time to get the chance to even order. This is not a traditional restaurant- although you can sit down there is no wait service, which is why I was confused when we were told to pay after the meal and clearly no one was coming to collect the check, forcing us to stand in line again! Also, they forgot to bring the drink I ordered until the very end of my meal when I was finished eating. Overall pretty terrible services and it's not exactly cheap for a hole in the wall.

Literally the most disgusting Indian restaurant I have ever been to. The chutney was old and smelled bad, and the dosas are not tasty either. When we told them about they didn’t care at all. While we were eating, one of the workers opened the big trash can right next to our table and it smelled absolutely nasty! I can’t believe there is no food inspection going on here to check how old their products are, and how they maintain such a horrible restaurant in the center of Cambridge. Just gross!!

I enjoyed their lamb curry. The dining area is nothing fancy. My friend had a dosa, which was enormous and they enjoyed it. It will not be the best Indian food that you've ever had, but it is good.
