"Dosa n Chutney is a little further north of its competitors, nearer to Mayday hospital. It is very much the same story as its sister branch in Tooting, but diners can expect a more chilled out vibe, away from the gentrified air of Tooting Broadway. Unlike Chennai Dosa, the menu here is a lot more focused. Kick things of with the king fish fry, chilli paneer or gobi 65. For alternatives to the classic mysore or special masala dosas, the onion or mixed uthappam options are equally worth trying — a thick pancake made from rice and lentils, topped with onions, tomatoes, chillies, ginger and coriander. True value-for-money food." - Harkaran Gill

More like sitting in Sri Lanka(or south India) and eating food. Nevertheless it doesn't miss the authenticity of flavours. The atmosphere inside the restaurant isn't very welcoming for a good dining experience. However the food is good. Parata was good, butter naan was very hard, chettinad fish curry was good but too spicy, chicken biriyani is just good enough. All in all its at mediocre best in every department.

Great place (one of a few). Masala dosa sublime and they kindly brought extra vegetable curry. Mutton role freshly fried. Very very sweet mango lassi. All for the princely sum of £9.80

We came here having read the reviews.. it was good food, but took so LONG to come that we could of eaten a whole three course meal at home (cooked fresh ourselves!). The first three things we ordered from the menu wasn’t actually available and what was really shocking, was that they had NO fruit juices, only fizzy drinks! Service was terrible. Our starter plates stayed on our table until we asked them to be removed and also we had to ask for them to take our mains order which came 1hour and half hours after our starter. Disappointing because of the slow and poor service.

If we rated restaurants for food, this place would get 4 stars easily. The restaurant was easy to find, however parking was a challenge. The spice shop next door has parking, but it was full. We took that as a good sign that the food would be great. The man who appeared to be managing the place was neatly dressed, though utterly incompetent. We were told to wait, and 15 minutes later, he had not returned to give us a table. I just walked in and spoke to a waitress who showed us a table. Another 10 minutes later, no-one had come to our table to even offer us menus. Eventually, we got them, and the orders were placed. More customers arrived in time, so it appears popular with the South Indian community. And after a wait, we got our food - which tasted great. Starters, mains, desserts - all excellent. The waitress also appeared to be a bit lost, and did not speak much English or appear to understand any English other than recognise the items on the menu. So, if you're feeling very, very patient, definitely give this place a try. The food is good.

The food is good and the price is very reasonable. They need to work on their service efficiency and manner though. We waited a long time for our bill. The waiter was a little surly at times. He was the only one serving on the floor and handling their front of house. They need more staff. We calculated our bill wrong but they didn't seem fussed about taking our money for the wrong amount. That was disappointing! They reluctantly removed a dish from our bill that wasn't ours. Our friend got some food spilt on his shirt and we didn't get any kind of goodwill discount or anything, that was also disappointing. Though we did get an apology. The guy taking our bill at the front of house was actually quite rude, unlike his colleague who had been serving and seemed to warm up towards the end of the evening.

I have been here a few times. Ambience - 4/5. Family friendly. Service - 3/5. They talk less but that's OK. And unlike many Indian restaurants they don't push you to leave as soon as you are done. Take your own time. Price - 5/5. Reasonably priced. Food - Pretty good. I didn't like some dishes though but most of them are good. This is not a typical westernised currys'. You may not find the dishes to be sweet and stupid.

The ambience leaves a lot to be desired, but the food is consistently good. I've eaten here four times in the last year and I will go again! It is relatively inexpensive. You can easily feed two for under £30 including drinks.

Great south Indian food with all the flavours, pleasant staff.
