We indulged with Mochi donuts from @dotndough for National Donut Day! 😋 If you’ve never had mochi donuts before, they’re lighter than regular yeast donuts, crispy outside with a little chewy mochi like texture. Their $25 special box features 12 delectable Mochi Donuts with unique flavors. 🍩 Rainbow Taro 🍩 Matcha White Chocolate 🍩 Classic Sugar 🍩 Strawberry Pocky 🍩 Oreo Chocolate 🍩 Milk & Cereal They have the best drinks! 🧋Matcha Milk Tea 🧋Belgian Chocolate Very cute decor!! Wonderful customer service!!

Google
Just tried their filled mochi donuts (ube and matcha) and they were delicious. The fillings were silky smooth and the mochi texture was perfect. Their available fillings were on the sweet and creamy side, wish they would include something more acidic (lemon, mango, passion fruit...) in the future. A very lovely donut store and will definitely come back for more.

Google
This place is such a great find. It's an awesome location in Brea just across the street from the Brea Mall and next to the new In-N-Out. It's also just down the street from Cal State Fullerton on State College. I feel like there's not a lot of dessert places in this area, so I'm glad they decided to open where they did. They have such great mochi donuts and filled malasadas. They have so many different toppings for the mochi donuts. My daughter loved the chocolate ones, but she's a chocoholic haha. I really love the filled molasadas. They reminded me of Leonard's Portuguese molasadas in Hawaii. What's really great is they come out warm. So this isn't your typical donut shop that is handing you room temperature donuts out of a display. They also have a full offering of drinks and milk teas. Everything here is a treat. I've learned that the owners of this franchise are locals to Brea. Support your local small family owned businesses! This one sure fits the bill.

Google
Stumbled upon this place and glad we did! Their mochi donuts looked delicious so we ordered all the flavors. It's chewy and fluffy. And all their flavors were delicious but I really liked their fruity pebbles donut. We didn't get to try the malasadas as they weren't ready yet for the soft opening but we'll come back to try for sure! Stella was so great and friendly as well!

Google
A bit skeptical when I hear of places selling malasadas being from Hawaii. But honestly pleasantly surprised. Tried the cinnamon and surgar, vanilla filled and ube filled. They were all good. But for me the plain ones (sugar and cinnamon/sugar) are what I’d get next time. Malasadas made to order which is key. Texture is right on for a malasada. Also got cereal mochi donuts they were just as good as any other. We’ll be back. Glad to have this place here in brea. 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽

Google
Made to order filled donuts are SO GOOD. Mochi donuts are tender and built for sharing. While you briefly await your malasada, get a refreshing iced tea or the best boba I have ever had.

Google
Stoked to see this open in Brea! Great service, AMAZING treats & coffee! 🤌 Stop in! Get the goods!

Google
Wonderful little donuts! Friendly service and very clean inside. I tried the rainbow taro and Ube Malasada. I enjoyed the gummy texture of it! The few minute wait for a fresh donut is well worth it. Also there is a first responder/military discount as an added bonus.

Yelp
This place had amazing mochi donuts and maladadas. Unfortunately it appears to have closed.

Yelp
Cute little donut and drink shop that I stumbled upon while in the area. I got 2 malasadas - 1 original and 1 chocolate. My brother got the strawberry milk drink and a mochi donut. Service was exceptional and fast and my malasada came out in under 10 minutes. The lady was very nice and helped with my questions. The interior is clean and I loved the color scheme! The bathroom was also clean and accessible! I was contemplating going to the ice cream shop next door, but I'm glad we decided coming here instead!

Yelp
While waiting for my wife to be finished with her appointment, I needed a snack to satisfy my sweettooth. So I used my trusty Yelp app to search for donut shops in the area. Dot & Dough - Brea popped up, and it was only 2 miles away from where I was. So off I went to check them out. Dot & Dough is located in a busy strip mall. Luckily I snagged a parking spot fairly close. The shop is cute with a few tables to dine at, and a small display case. To my surprise, they do not make classic American style donuts. Nope, they make mochi donuts which I am not too fond of. Fortunately, though, they do make Malasadas which I am a fan of. I was told from the friendly young lady assisting me that it takes about 20 minutes to prepare the Malasadas. I did not mind cause I still had an hour to kill before picking up my lovely wifey. Went ahead and ordered 3 different Malasadas. Vanilla Malasada was hot and fresh. It was packed with vanilla cream, and it tasted delicious. Highly recommend! Classic Malasada tasted delicious too! No filling needed for their malasadas! I liked this even better than the Vanilla Malasada! Apple Pie Malasada was my favorite of the three. It was also packed with filling! So much so that it was just oozing out with every bite I took. I must have looked like a total slob while eating it at their shop. Did not care cause they tasted GREAT!!!! Have to say that these were the BEST Malasadas that I've ever eaten on the mainland! Maybe because I ate them when they were warm and fresh was the reason they tasted so damn good. Either way, I highly recommend trying the Malasadas at Dot & Dough!

Yelp
Super cute mochi donut spot. We stopped by after dinner, for a sweet treat and coffee. We ordered the strawberry poki and cinnamon mochi donuts. We also ordered the malasada vanilla and Belgium chocolate filling. The chocolate filled one, had too much filling and when I bit into it, a lot of the filling came out. Tasty, but too much filling is overwhelming. The young lady at the ordering counter and I'm guessing the owner was super nice and friendly.

Yelp
After dining at the Fogo de Chao in the same shopping center, we headed here to try out this new little dessert hot spot. Upon getting inside, I realized this might not be my jam. Only mixed coffee drinks and not black coffee, mochi donuts, malasadas made fresh to order...that took 20 minutes. I thought I might be striking out here. But, the guy at the front said the malasadas took more like 8 minutes to make, not 20, so we decided to give it a whirl. I ordered a hot Americano and a vanilla filled malasada. If you've never had a malasada, think of one of the crunchy cream puffs from Beard Papa. Now imagine that with filling that is a bit more runny, and that the whole thing was made fresh. I feel like that should give you a pretty good mental image of what it's like. The runny filling makes it a very messy snack, but this is also pretty close to the pinnacle of what a malasada would be like, warm, fresh, and sweet. The coffee was office-grade brown water. ~$9 for a fresh malasada and the cup of coffee. The concept of fresh-made malasadas is pretty nice, but from a business standpoint, I'd recommend to the owner to have some ready-made malasadas on hand for people who want stuff to go.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try cream-filled malasadas for a while and I'm glad I came here! It is made fresh and it's piping hot when you receive the donut. I can't wait to to come back to try other flavors.

Yelp
Saw it in the plaza near Fogo De Chao. Cute dessert shop with nice service. A relatively simple menu with mochinuts, fruit teas, and malasada. We ordered 2 types of malasada, taro and Belgium chocolate. The flavors didn't really have much of a taste even though they were pretty rich. I felt each bite of the malasada lacked that crispy sweetness from the dough.

Yelp
First came here in July of 2023. The only other Dot & Dough I have been to is in Carson, and I was more than pleased. Most mochi donuts taste the same to me, which is not a bad thing. I mean realistically, isn't it up to you and the donut flavor/type/glaze/topping that you choose? For me it is. I had the Milk & Cereal, Oreo Chocolate, and my husband had a malasada of some sort with an iced coffee. All were good and satisfying. The shop has a small seating area, if you opt to chill a bit. Dot & Dough has yet to disappoint us, so if you're in Brea craving mochi donuts, this is the spot.

Yelp
Had a chance to stop at Dot & Dough and picked up an assortment of malasadas. I got the pleasure of meeting the owner, Stella, and then had the pleasure of meeting her mom and grandmother who were visiting. I love their vibes!!! I could totally tell that they are close and cheer for Stella and her business! Malasadas were made to order and were all so very delicious!!! Love the vibes and ambiance, super warm and comfy. Restroom is in the back and is clean. Would definitely come back and visit when I'm in the area!

Yelp
In general I'm over mochi donuts but had to check out the new spot in Brea. Great customer service and presentation -- of the space and their options at the counter. Very modern and seemed like a place I could even do some work at. They have some fun drinks aside from the typical tea shops, I'd go back.
google avatar

Yelp
Beautiful donut shop! I had their jasmine green tea with boba & lychee syrup, it was refreshing and delicious. I also had their milk & cereal mochi donut, it was perfectly sweet and crunchy. The Interior is very picture worthy with pink walls, velvet couches and marble tables. Plenty of parking out front. The owners were so welcoming and sweet. Can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Sure, their malasadas & mochi donuts are great, but sometimes we just go in for the cold, refreshing drinks. Today, in the 92° heat, we were itchin' for their lychee drinks - lychee fantasy is non-caffeinated & my kiddo loves it, while I enjoy their simple green tea lychee. Coming from customer service, I expect some kind of greeting upon entry, but we didn't get that today. 1 family was seated, waiting for their items & it was just us, walking up to the counter. After a couple minutes standing there, she acknowledged us. No biggie... she was courteous, we ordered, tipped & sat down. It was nice to wait in a cool, cute lil shop. We helped ourselves to complimentary cold water & we spotted some fun Fall/ Halloween decor.

Yelp
Their Malasadas (Ube and chocolate) were out of this world. The mochi donuts were also amazing. Service was fast and staff were friendly. Ambiance is casual and cozy seatings. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Dot N Dough new store opens! Congratulations!! I love to grab mochi donuts as my snacks. Eat with me. Highlights of the menu: 1. Ube 2. Matcha 3. Oreo 4. Chocolate 5. Original 6. Strawberry Cute interior with pop colors.

Yelp
I wasn't expecting much but this place does the Mochi style donuts welli. The flavor was not overly sweet and they had good flavors. Plus the dough had the right bit of mochi chewiness. I will be going back soon! I like mine simple so the cinnamon sugar was my favorite. The matcha was good but I didn't love the white chocolate on it and the taro is their most popular... says the guy at the store.

Yelp
Finally visited my nearest Dot & Dough on Grand opening Saturday morning @ 10:20 a.m 5.13.23. Located in the same remolded shopping plaza corner of State College & Imperial Highway. A few doors down from Kohler home store & looks like Blue Scoop creamy 2nd location, opening next door. Lots of parking available. The Grand Opening was definitely a hit. The line wasn't moving quickly. But love how they had games set up to entertain us while the wait. Especially kids love the mini Dot & Dough Shop set up to play in. Have lots of seatings inside. Cute simple decor with popping wall decor. Dot & Dough is a known for their Mochi donuts & Malasadas. Their Mochi donuts are made fresh to order. Which explains why they take a bit of time. I'll have to return again but was super stoked to have one so close and in my neighboring city!

Yelp
The first time when I visited this place, I ordered a mochi donut and a Malasala to try. Both the doughnuts tasted great hence my return this time for bigger order. Ordered 6 mochi donuts this time . Upon arrival of my destination (5 minutes to home) to share these goodies , noticed all the mochi donuts clumps together . The ones at the bottom are crushed. Had to also forced and pull the donuts apart . By the time you get each of the donuts apart, they don't look plump and round like how mochi donuts should be. Needless to say the bottom ones turned out flat and unappetizing anymore . I think the store should reconsider how you should package your mochi donuts better . Most stores do not stack their donuts this way. Kinda wasted my money this time as the kids were not appeal to how it looked

Yelp
BEST DONUTS AROUND! I'm a big fan of mochi donuts and have tried them from a lot of places, so I can say with full confidence that Dot n Dough makes amazing mochi donuts! They're chewy, soft and have just the right amount of glaze. We absolutely love the banana chocolate, rainbow taro and crispy cereal chocolate - but you really can't go wrong with any of the flavors! Some are a tad more sweet than others and some have more texture to them based on the toppings. As a bonus, they also specialize in malasadas, which are freshly made upon order. These can take awhile to make, but they're well worth the wait! They come out piping hot and are pillowy soft. Most people prefer the filled options, but I'm partial to the cinnamon sugar donut, as it reminds me of a churro. They also have an extensive drink menu here, featuring coffees, milk teas and fruit teas. I love the green milk tea with boba, while the lychee fantasy and passion fruit fantasy are popular with kids because they include lychee jelly and popping boba. I'm so glad they built a Dot n Dough here, as it's exactly what Brea needed! This is my go-to dessert place, as I've already been here a number of times to pick up donuts for group gatherings, as well as just to lounge. I really love the modern aesthetic and decor, plus the seating is comfortable. The shop is also run by the sweetest couple who are really passionate and caring. So thankful to have such a good donut shop locally at long last!!!

Yelp
I stopped by on a Friday morning to grab some morning snacks + coffee for the hubs and I. I love mochi donuts ever since I had Fill Bakeshop. I was surprised to find that Dot & Dough is a much smaller shop and is family owned. I was expecting a large kitchen but they don't seem to mass produce donuts like Fill. The interior is super cute and would look like a fun place to hang with friends after dinner or something. It's very colorful and modern. I got several donuts including the hot Cheeto, the milk & cereal, GT, blueberry. I told the cashier I wanted filled mochi donuts that were matcha and ube but somehow he misheard me and I ended up with malasadas. I'm not mad bc I did want to try them, but also wanted to try the ones I actually ordered. The hot Cheeto one was my favorite. Who knew hot Cheetos, cheese, on a donut would make a perfect savory snack?! I'd recommend that one if you like salty foods. I also ordered a horchata latte and a lychee GT...they were okay drinks. Can't expect much from a donut place to have great drinks. Now that this place is closer to my house, I'll probably a frequent customer when the sweet tooth hits. Excited to come back to try more.

Yelp
I stopped by the newest location in Brea during their soft opening. I love Dot & Dough and had to pick up some tasty mochi donuts. I love their different toppings! They have taro, strawberry Pocky, Oreo, matcha, Fruity Pebbles, and Homer's D'oh-nut -- and so many others! I love their malasadas as well. I've had them in their other locations. I love that they make their donuts hot and fresh, so if they're out, it's because they need to make some more. If you have an additional 15-20 minutes to wait, I highly recommend you do. There's nothing like a new batch of warm donuts. Just like the mochi donuts, the maladas also have a variety of fillings to choose from. Whatever your choice of donut type or topping option, it's all bound to be delicious.
google avatar

Yelp
Came here a little while ago during their soft opening after a quick search for nearby donuts. There's plenty of parking and the inside is so cute! Their donuts are made fresh so be prepared to wait for your order. I ordered the Ube Malasada but they accidentally gave me Matcha. They were quick to fix any mistakes and let me keep the Matcha Malasada. Yay! I ended up giving the extra one to my friend since I was already set on my ube one. 2 of my other friends I went with also received wrong flavors, but they all were corrected in the end. The donut was delicious!! Texture was on point and there was tons of ube flavor in the filling. It's dangerously close to the office I work at, and every time I drive by, I dream about getting some more in the near future. Can't wait to try their other items!

Yelp
As someone with a huge sweet tooth, I was excited to see a new dessert place open up in Brea. We checked out Dot & Dough during their soft opening and couldn't wait to try their mochi donuts and malasadas. Unfortunately, their menu stated the malasadas would take 20+ minutes to prepare and as I was in a bit of a hurry, we opted to just try their mochi donuts. They have a decent selection of flavors but we decided to get one filled mochi donut ($3.60) with their matcha filling and one Milk and Cereal mochi donut ($3.25). It took a bit longer than expected as we waited a little over 10 minutes for two donuts, but it was well worth the wait as the filled mochi donut came out fresh and warm. It was also perfectly crisp on the outside yet chewy and tender on the inside. The matcha filling was sweet and had a good amount of green tea flavor which I enjoyed as well. The Milk & Cereal mochi donut was equally as delicious and chewy and I was surprised the fruity pebble cereal on top stayed crispy as most places with a fruity pebble topping tend to get that little stale texture. The glaze was a bit on the sweeter side but as a sugar lover, I didn't mind it. Definitely looking forward to trying out their malasadas next time.
google avatar

Joy P.

Yelp
Went to this place as per my friends recommendation. The interior is very homey and the workers were so nice! I believe we met the owner as we were given free mochi donuts which was so sweet. I had the ube filled malasada and Belgian chocolate filled malasada during this visit. They were delicious however a bit too sweet for me. I am into sweets but sometimes things like this can be a little overwhelming. My friends loved it and have sweet tooth's so I can see why people love it! Personally I would get this once a month to satisfy cravings.
google avatar

Airi G.

Yelp
Mochi donuts have the best chewy texture ever and these held true to that standard. I tried four flavors: Cinnamon Sugar, Rainbow Taro, Matcha White Chocolate, and Crispy Cereal Chocolate. I was pleasantly surprised that the cereal retained its crispiness and wasn't soggy or stale like I often hear about other donut shops. As for the glaze itself, they're all really sweet and I ever so slightly tasted the taro and matcha but it was mostly just sugary. The malasadas are made fresh to order so they came out hot and smelled of donut heaven. I personally didn't think the ube and matcha fillings had a strong flavor but the color was vibrant and the creamy texture paired well with the airy dough. They have a really extensive menu of flavors and even drinks as well that are worth trying out. This new location is located not too far from Brea mall so it works great as a pit stop after a shopping trip or just a good way to start the morning.

Yelp
A newly opened store with friendly service, cute interior, and deliciously decadent doughnuts and drinks! Need I say more? The malasadas were warm and worth every calorie! My favorite was the malasadas filled with caramel macchiato. I also love Mochi doughnuts and tried the filled ones for the first time. They were fantastic! My favorite is the one with vanilla custard. Indoor seating was adorable, parking was easy, store was easy to find. I would come here every week if I lived closer!

Yelp
I know not everyone is into the mochi craze, but I still enjoy. I had the chance to try their donuts at this new location and I have to be honest, but I personally enjoyed this location's donuts more than their other ones. I got to try their regular mochi donuts, mochi filled donuts, and their malasadas. Their mochi donuts are solid, but I was sad their blueberry flavor was unavailable as that was the flavor I wanted to try the most. I did get their strawberry pocky and although it was a little bit too sweet for me, it was still chewy and good. Their mochi filled donuts had a really nice chewy texture to it and the filling was filled more than I thought, which was nice. The matcha filled one wasn't too sweet or bitter, so the flavor profile was nicely balanced for my liking. Even though I said I'm into the mochi craze, my favorite was actually their malasada. I got to try their caramel macchiato and the coffee flavor was perfect. The only thing I would have preferred was if the filling for it was a bit thicker. It was a little more runny than their other fillings, but the flavor was great.
google avatar

Mika L.

Yelp
This place was small, quiet, and well-decorated. There was just one guy behind the counter and seemingly no one in the kitchen. The mochi donuts were pretty good, but really quite sweet. They were not particularly fresh, but I liked the chewiness. We also ordered a strawberry drink and for some reason that really blew my mind. The drink was perfectly chilled so it was super refreshing and didn't end up being too watered down once the small amount of ice melted. Weird thing to rave about but it was HOT day in that moment that drink was so spectacular.
google avatar

Sebastian C.

Yelp
I've had a lot of mochi donuts in the past couple of years and I was quite happy that a Dot & Dough location was opening up in the city of Brea. Upon entry, I was greeted right away by a lady at the counter and was extremely patient while I made my choices. Here's what I ordered: **Strawberry Pocky Mochi Donut: This was a great pick for me. I was worried that it may be too sweet but it had a very great balance of flavor and sweetness. It was very moist and very presentable as well. (5/5) **Blueberry Mochi Donut: Very delicious as well. Great balance of flavor. My only complaint was that it had some toppings that were extremely hard, like some sort of candy. Other than that, it was perfect. (4.5/5) **Passionfruit Green Tea: I got this 50% sweet and it was perfect. The tea itself was very good and not bitter at all. It was very refreshing. (5/5) Great customer service, great products, and a very clean/spacious interior. 100% recommend!

Yelp
While looking for somewhere new the kiddos haven't visited, I came across Dot & Dough selling mochi doughnuts. Mochi doughnuts are a unique type of Japanese doughnut popular in many parts of the world. Its most notable feature is the unique chewy mochi-like dough the doughnuts are made from. The dough is made from a special type of glutinous rice flour, making them slightly chewy, with a combination of flavors like vanilla, cocoa, and other spices, as well as specific ingredients like almond pulp and sesame. I believe the dough is boiled, before being rolled out and cut into circles that are joined together to form the 8-ball "doughnut" before being deep fried. Each doughnut is then topped with a unique topping, i.e., strawberry glaze, mochi glaze, cereal, shaves of chocolate. Although, these are a delightful treat be prepared for the sticker shock. These sweet morsels of goodness are more than double the price of a "regular" doughnut price. Yikes! There is no break for ordering a dozen. The kiddos didn't care at all for the drinks which in my opinion, we're overly sweetened.
google avatar

LM S.

Yelp
Got the Oreo donut and the cappuccino. Mochi donuts are quickly becoming my favorite. Seriously so good! Staff is so kind here. Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Nadia M.

Yelp
Super cute place, delicious mochi donuts. I tried 2, the Oreo and the chocolate one. Took the rest for my coworkers who enjoyed them as well. The only downside is they don't sell by the dozen, so if you want 1/2 dozen or a dozen you still have to purchase all individually. But I would still come back here.
google avatar

Ashley A.

Yelp
I Got 3 doughnuts chocolate crunch sugar and strawberry and 2 drinks it came out to $22 the doughnuts were just ok but definitely not worth it also the boba in my drinks was hard it was not cooked at all and it smelt horrible inside
google avatar

Anju J.

Yelp
Very friendly staff! Took about 7 minutes to get a stuffed donut. We tried the chocolate and matcha!
google avatar

Ryan P.

Yelp
5 stars on the malasadas alone. I would skip the coffee. It comes out way too hot to drink. You'll still be waiting for it to cool long before it would have been good with the donuts. I also don't understand how a donut shop could open so late but despite all these shortcomings, where else are you going to get malasadas this good?
google avatar

Lei-Lei F.

Yelp
I really like their donuts. The best Japanese style donut in the area!!! It's very chewy just how I like it and no old oil taste from frying
google avatar

Shweta S.

Yelp
This place is so cute! Mochi doughnuts were great and maladies were yum too. Tons of filling. Make sure you eat them warm...we waited and thought they would have been better eaten there. The person at the counter was super nice while she waited for us to decide.
google avatar

Sarah T.

Yelp
Had another wonderful experience here and this time tried the filled Mochi donut. Omg what have I been missing out on! Malasadas are great but the filled Mochi donuts are now my absolute fave. The ube filling was spot on and not too sweet. The chewy but soft texture of the Mochi donut is so gooood. Also tried the lychee fantasy drink and it was surprisingly good! I'm not a juice fan but it wasn't too sweet and very refreshing. I loved that the owner remembered me too, she's very sweet! This place is a great addition to Brea!!
google avatar

Yelp
We indulged with Mochi donuts from @dotndough for National Donut Day. If you've never had mochi donuts before, they're lighter than regular yeast donuts, crispy outside with a little chewy mochi like texture. Their $25 special box features 12 delectable Mochi Donuts with unique flavors. Rainbow Taro Matcha White Chocolate Classic Sugar Strawberry Pocky Oreo Chocolate Milk & Cereal They have the best drinks! Matcha Milk Tea Belgian Chocolate Very cute decor!! Wonderful customer service!!
google avatar

Yelp
I really thought Mochi donuts were overrated but Dot & Dough's are actually really good to me! Their Oreo and Strawberry Pocky were my favorite. The Lychee Fantasy drink is also delicious, but their strawberry drink (I forgot the name) was just okay.
google avatar

Suhna L.

Yelp
My coworker introduced this place for me so I checked out this weekend. Friendly service !!! Not only they have menu but also has samples in front, it was easy to place order. Malasada was amazing. It was made to order so it was warm. Drinks were very good as well Definitely will recommend to my kids !!!
google avatar

Charmaine P.

Yelp
Spotted this place just as I was waking around and had to check it out. Tried three of the mochi donuts and one taro filled donut. Also had to try their lychee fantasy which had Lychee, pineapple bits and strawberry poppin boba. Super delicious. Mochi donuts were better than the average mochi donuts and stays well until the next day. The taro filled donut was a bit too heavy and just oozed out too much. Place is cute and clean.
google avatar

Jeany K.

Yelp
Cute place as decor is done well with the theme consistently carrying across the board in color, feel, and texture. It's super cool to have a cutesy spot in Brea, cute for the area. The oil tasted clean and the bite had a nice moist fluffy crunch. Not too heavy. The price is where you lost me. It's definitely high, for me.

Yelp
Food // Stopped by on a Saturday night, looking from something sweet. Having to decide between a mochi donut and malasada is true first world problem to have, but in the end mochi donut it was. We ordered on sugar mochi donut and one chocolate cereal mochi donut. Both were good, with the chocolate mochi donut hitting all the chocolatey goodness you could want from a dessert. It has chocolate frosting with cocoa pebbles cereal on top, worth it if you like chocolate. The sugar donut on the other hand was not special, just a mochi donut with sugar. Restaurant - Location // Dot & Dough is definitely hidden. This area used to be anchored by the Active Ride Shop, but it has since gone under a major renovation with new shops around. Parking is plentiful, and there are some other eating spots near by that make this a good option for dessert after a meal of In n Out or even at The Hat. Notes // Mochi donuts are all same I feel, and these were not different. D&D is worth it if you are in the area craving something sweet, but not something I would go out of my way for.

Yelp
Love that a new and different dessert shop opened up in this newly renovated plaza. Headed over on a Saturday morning about an hour after opening. The shop was completely empty so we didn't have to wait to order. Opted for the mochi donuts since we didn't want to wait for the malasadas (20 minute prep time). We tried the White Chocolate Matcha & Rainbow Taro for $3.25 each. The mochi donuts were light but not as chewy as I'd normally like it to be. Personally not a fan of the taro + sprinkles since I felt it took away from the taro. I did enjoy the matcha flavor with the shreds of white chocolate on top. Located in the same plaza as In-N-Out. Since this plaza is still pretty vacant, there are no issues finding parking in front of the shop.

Yelp
If you want good donuts, and you love filled donuts, come here. They make their donuts fresh after you order so we did have to wait for about 10 minutes but they come out hot and ready! When I pulled my malasada donut apart, I was SHOCKED at how much filling there was, but I was so happy about it! Dot & Dough does not short you on the good stuff, and I have been dreaming about going back to try more flavors. While I was there the staff was also kind enough to give us complementary drinks to try and they were so kind. The shop itself is also really cute and bright, with some place to sit and eat.

Yelp
What do you do after a bad week & are in-need of a serious treat? Grab some hot-&-fresh-out-of-the-fryer malasadas, that's what! For the uninitiated, a malasada is a popular treat in Hawaii --- similar to what's known to many as a yeast donut. They are typically covered in sugar, & can be filled or unfilled. I'd been hearing about "Dot & Dough" for a while, but had no interest in mingling with the large crowds at the Rodeo 39 location. Lucky for me, when I heard about the lesser-known new location that just opened in Brea, I nearly jumped for joy & rushed over to enjoy the treats during their Soft Opening! Located (& practically hidden) in the shopping center behind "In-&-Out," on Imperial & State College, the Brea location has plenty of parking, & is great for those who want to avoid crowds & still enjoy a treat. Although they offer both mochi donuts & malasadas, I came for one thing: MALASADAS!!! With plenty of varieties to choose from, I opted for the vanilla (filled), ube (filled), Belgian chocolate (filled), & plain (unfilled). As I waited for my order, the friendly staff kindly gave me complimentary samples of the "Passion Fruit Fantasy" & "Lychee Fantasy" drinks with popping strawberry boba. Delicious! It took about 15 minutes to get my order, but the malasadas were hot, fresh, & totally worth the wait. So good, that I practically inhaled them in the car! Can't wait to return for more deliciousness!

Yelp
Delicious little donut shop offering more than your typical donuts! I love the malasadas there. They make them fresh to order, worth a few mins wait for a crispy hot donut stuffed to the brim with gooey cream. My fave is the cinnamon sugar coated malasada filled with vanilla cream. Pure heaven. A messy treat, but totally worth it! I also tried the horchata latte (half sweet) and it was delicious! The mochi donuts are super fresh with that delicious mochi chew, and lots of interesting topping choices, if that's your thing. They also sell boba teas, excited to try one of those next!

Yelp
We went for hot fresh malasada donuts and Mochi donuts!! They have the best malasada donuts. They also offer regular and Mochi donuts. I also got to try their passion fruit and lychee fantasy which has my favorite toppings and is so refreshing. Shoutout to owners, they are really nice and welcoming. The store is aesthetic and simple.
