Solid option for casual and affordable Vietnamese food. Found this place while looking for something savory for breakfast (beyond the usual diners). Boston’s Asian breakfast options are limited outside of Chinatown, so I ventured down to Dorchester/Little Saigon to try this spot. Similar to 180 Cafe, it was a takeout only spot, but they had a good number of tables for dine-in as well. Their menu was not exactly a traditional Vietnamese menu. No pho or grilled pork, but a mix of Vietnamese, Chinese, and American. I went with the sticky rice, stir-fried cheese ramen, fried rice cakes, and crispy wontons. Nothing particularly memorable, but the food was warm and comforting overall. The sticky rice and fried rice cakes were my favorites. The ramen, wrapped in an omelette, ended up too dry, and the crispy wontons were underwhelming—small, overcooked, and dry. Next time, I'd skip the extras and stick with just the sticky rice.

Food was just okay. However, staffs are unfriendly and so unprofessional, like no welcoming greetings, smiles, or thank you at all. It feels like they don't need customers 😌The store is dirty and service is literally the worse. We asked for dining in but got food in to-go boxes. There wasn't enough utensils either. I always leave a big tip when service is good, but this time I kinda regretted leaving a 20% tip for them too early since we got no services at all for "dining in". We got the food, ate, cleaned, and threw the trash away by ourselves.

Well coffee is great but I order bột chiên and that's where the issue start, as someone who love it back in viet nam the rice cake isn't cook through( crispy bottom but raw inside and top) the egg was over cook in the bottom and a bit rare on top the plating is unappealing would not rec it here

We visited Boston on Fri July 25 from AZ for vacation and wanted to eat in Little Saigon. We chose this restaurant based on menu options and the early opening hours. Food was authentic and delicious! Best of all, the owners gifted us free specialty teas (plum and strawberry) — how nice of them!!! Highly recommend this restaurant!

I’ve ordered here a couple of times, and my favorite are fried pancake and crab soup. Their fried pancake may not look like what it is back home but the taste is great. I recommend order take-out.

I wanted a hearty and delicious meal, so I went with their House Special. The portion was big, full of flavor, and definitely worth trying! Even with the rising cost of eggs, the restaurant keeps the price reasonable, making it a great value for a tasty meal.

I ordered from here on uber eats and really like their teriyaki chicken and rice. I recommended it to my mom who went with her co-worker in person. She told me when she went in the restaurant it was pretty dirty. The floors were sticky and the counter tops to order were as-well. They had hoped that maybe there was a spill or from just a-lot of ppl coming in. They ordered the same plate of food I recommended then ate it there and left. About an hour later they both started having stomach problems and had to go to the bathroom all day. I’m sad to hear that the store is so poorly kept for how good the food is and makes me question how sanitary they are with their food aswell so I won’t be ordering from here again.

I always come back for their salted fish fried rice. The rice is perfectly cooked, with a rich umami flavor from the salted fish, making each bite incredibly satisfying. What makes it even better is the occasional crispy rice bits that add a delightful crunch without being too dry. Great flavor, and the portion is just right!

I love this spot!! Such an underwhelming location with truly some of the best Viet food in Boston. I've been sleeping on this spot for so long, but my sister has been telling me about Dot Cafe and I finally made some time. This spot offers affordable and quick Vietnamese food and American breakfast. I actually only came for the Bánh Bột Chiên, Vietnamese fried rice flour cakes, but then I saw that they had Mì Quảng (it's new!!). It's a noodle dish from Central Vietnam that uses wide flat tumeric noodles, and the broth is a mix of pork and shrimp flavors. It was a little sweet, rich in flavor, and the pork was soooo tender. Not any, if very little places make this dish. My Sister's Crawfish used to make the best dry version of these noodles, but they sort of rebranded + relocated and don't have it anymore SO if you want some Mì Quảng, go to Dot Cafe!!!!

Best chicken teriyaki I ever had! Food was delivered still piping hot and flavorful. The Vietnamese iced coffee was also excellent. Prices are reasonable. My first time but not my last!

I love their friendly prices! For $10 I can get a full breakfast platter: pancakes, meat, eggs and a drinks! My favorite is the green iced latte! And I can see they have a wide variety of flavors of syrups!

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Dorchester. Their chicken Teriyaki is so good. I couldn't stop eating it even tho I was full. The chicken is spicy and the rice comes with it, it was perfect. The Vietnamese coffee hit different here. They are very busy so you need to call and order ahead. Definitely recommend!!

I have say this place is the boom! The Thai milk tasted like the real thing,when you go to Thai restaurant,Top of that the teriyaki chicken,is too dead for. I came back again trying the green tea latte,it's good taste settling more milk then creamy.if your going for more a cream taste go for the tea Thai tea.

I started coming here after a new job opportunity nearby. The food is good and greasy! Nothing special about the establishment, no gourmet cuisines here, just legit delicious, greasy food for the soul. I ordered the bacon, egg and cheese on a cinnamon raisin bagel and it filled me up. The bacon was cooked perfectly and the eggs were fluffy. Next time I will ask them to make my bagel a little crispier. Their menu is has many options for breakfast and lunch that should satisfy various audiences. There is a seat in area but the facility is not huge for large crowds. Call and order ahead of time during lunch hours because you will be waiting!

If you're looking for classic greasy breakfast food, this is the place for you. I got a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on a bagel. The eggs were great, I might ask for the bacon to be cooked a little more well-done next time but I'm also a weirdo and like mine burnt. The bagel could be toasted a little crispier, but as is it was doughy and delicious. I also got a vanilla iced coffee. They go pretty heavy on the cream and sweetener which I'm a fan of, but you may want to ask them to go lighter on it if you prefer your coffee a little less dessert-y. It's clear that it's a pretty popular place for locals, most of the people there seemed to be regulars. I took my stuff to go, which seems to be the default although there is seating if you'd like to eat there. I'll definitely be coming back in the future.

HHold on forget sarku japan , at first I was skeptical of buying their chicken teriyaki but right when I picked it up and smelt it I knew it was valid after I taste it I'm already planning tomorrow's order lol secret menu items be hitting

Ok so it IS a bit of a "hole in the wall" but if you get past that, you're in for a really good breakfast at midwest prices! Came here because our favorite little spot to walk with our grandson for breakfast when we visit from Chicago closed. I had the best French toast I've ever eaten! I don't know what's in the batter but wow! My grandson had pancakes that were perfection and the coffee was top notch.

Overdue review. Summary: AMAZING HIDDEN GEM I've been here countless times and always get the udon soup. Their udon soup is made the way that my family makes it, and I have not found another Vietnamese restaurant that makes the soup this style (clear pork broth with peppered meatballs, shrimp, imitation crab, Vietnamese ham). The soup also comes with fried shallots and FRESH chili oil... the details! Whenever I eat at Dot Cafe, I can taste the love that was put into the food. Makes me feel like my mother cooked for me. Today I also tried the rice soup. As expected, it did not disappoint. The consistency was on point and they also added a bit of preserved egg (overachiever). Besides the delicious food that makes you feel as if a loved one gave you a warm hug, the prices are unbelievably affordable. My two dishes costed less than $14. Dot Cafe really knows how to feed their community with delicious and accessible food. Also the restaurant is a mom-and-pop place. You know that you are supporting a small family owned business, which is always great. I am definitely a regular here and will be coming back for more.

I always call beforehand for a bagel with cream cheese so that it's ready by the time I get there. They spread the cream cheese inside the bagel and cut it in half which is very convenient for me because I always eat it on the bus, train, or in class. I have also tried their House Special and BBQ Beef Viet-Sub which are both very good. My friends also really like their Thai Tea. They're also very genuine. Would totally recommend.

Good and very inexpensive food for breakfast or lunch option. I personally enjoy a kielbasa sandwich, beef or chicken teriyaki bánh mì, or the udon noodle soup. Best thing is that the guy at the front always has a smile on for you. I like to call ahead and my orders have been correct and ready by the time I get there and I'm less than a 5 min walk away.

I haven't been here since it was Dippin Donuts. But today made me remember why I use to go so much! The good was so delish and the price is wonderful! They place is nicely designed small atmosphere but it's comfy. My food didn't take long at all. Definitely recommend for people to go or try out!

This place is very good. I always order an egg and cheese on wheat bread. I also order their iced raspberry iced tea which is soooo good. When I have time in the morning I like to come here. So worth it.

Viet ice coffee was good, but saw that they prepared the ice coffee (with the added condensed milk) in individual cups. Not sure how long ago it was prepared. They just had to add ice. The atmosphere was low key. I came in the morning so not sure if that had anything to do with it. There was plenty of room to sit. No bakery goods cuz they sold out. So I guess it was hit. Overall I would like to come back to see if the atmosphere is any better. Key things: good viet ice coffee ($3 sm, $4 L) Cheap comfort foods Plenty of seats Wifi but password protected

I give this place a 5 stars because they deserves it. Vietnamese sub made with fresh ingredients. They top it with some extra pork belly. Of course you have to get a Vietnamese iced coffee to pair with it. The type of coffee they brew that give you buzz for hours. Not only that, the menu goes on with some classic pancakes and toasts and crunchy harsh brown.

I ordered from Dot Cafe for the first time yesterday. I arrived approximately 30 minutes before closing and the person taking my order was patient and friendly. I ordered spicy chicken teriyaki and raspberry iced tea. The raspberry ice tea was overly sweet and had an artificial taste, it was not a refreshing drink. I really like the chicken teriyaki plate, it lived up to being spicy. I like the vegetable combination of cabbage, broccoli, and carrots. The vegetables are cooked just the way I like them but, needed a little seasoning. The chicken teriyaki was well seasoned, very tender and flavorful. There was no counting the grains with this rice, it was very mushy. The rice that didn't get hit with that awesome teriyaki sauce was very bland. Although, had the rice been cooked perfectly, the amount of sauce added to the dish would have been sufficient. Overall, I thought the food was good. I will return and I will also try other items on the menu. I will not order raspberry ice tea again and I would leave out the "spicy" in my chicken teriyaki dish.

This a wonderful local spot with excellent food and drink! And the family that runs the spot is super nice too. I love the breakfast specials and they have really good banh mi too. Also they've become my fave spot for taro milk tea!

I'm a extremely picky person when it comes to food. Being raised by a traditional Countryside Vietnamese mother, I only can eat Vietnamese food if it tastes like home. Dot cafe has a well balance of Vietnamese and American food. I always did takes out here before when they had a different owner, But now the new atmosphere is comfortable enough for me to sit down and enjoy a full 3 course meal! I highly recommend Vietnamese ice coffee Bot chien(fried four) Rice plates Vietnamese sandwiches(BBQ BEEF) haven't tried the others Butter rum muffin!!!!!!!!!!!!

comparing the banh mi with chau bakery and reviewing the iced viet coffee see my pics for comparison dots beef banh mi sandwich: $5, served cold, has hot jalapeño with seeds so its spicy, less meat and its dry, top of bread had sharp spots and poked my skin open. more veggies than there is meat ratio, i like it with more beef chau's beef banh mi: $4 served hot, not spicy, more amount of tender moist meat and cheaper sandwich, crispy french bread but less dangerous both are kinda salty so drink water i asked her for "very little ice" and she gives a full cup, dissappointed Pros: friendly service, banh mi is just ok, tasty iced viet coffee but chocolately cons: street parking, too much ice, $5 banh mi for more. money than chau's

Great local breakfast spot. Friendly customer service. Wide selection of cold beverages like Watermelon Iced tea and green tea latte. I always get the Vietnamese Iced Coffee.

This place was previously known as Dipping Donut. I've been around the area humorous time but I've never think to give this place a go. From the outside I assumed that it's just a small take out bakery, on my way to work I decided to stop for some Viet coffee and maybe a croissant. First thought, the place was actually spacious and omg they have banh mi! Their menu is a mixture of American and Vietnamese breakfast/lunch, I decided to order the Vietnamese ice coffee (of course) along with the bun rieu (crab vermicelli soup). I couldn't turn down Vietnamese comfort food when I found out they have a wide selection, assuming it was just a small bakery. The staff was super friendly and attentive, I put in my order and received it within minutes. Vietnamese ice coffee: exactly what everyone need to get through Mondays Bun rieu: it's like grandma's hug in every bit I will definitely be returning for the bun rieu and take advantage of their free wifi Dislike: their zig zag dining area

Haven't tried the food but I always come here for Taro Milk tea. Their Vietnamese iced coffee is strong but really good. Would recommend !!

Great local spot for breakfast. Western omelet was huge. Pancake special was a deal. Thai iced tea was delicious. Service was fast. Everyone working and eating there was friendly. Lots of people were popping in to pick up call ahead take out orders. Definitely plan on visiting again soon!

Had the pleasure of popping in to this establishment today...the guy was very friendly and helpful...oh my god and the bacon egg and cheese I had was amazing everything was cooked just right as I was eating I noticed everyone was eating the chicken teriyaki..I love chicken teriyaki so I will be back!!

Quick stop cafe done right! Super fast prep on to go orders. Everything is tasty & portions are a great deal for the money. The staff are always really friendly & helpful.

They're Banh mi is really good. They open early hours such as 6 which is good for many morning people who goes to school or work that early. I personally recommend their Thai Tea. There is no other like it. It has such a refined taste and perfect balance of milk and tea. The milk isn't too strong and the tea is present enough, but not too much that it is bitter. I'm a frequent goer and the workers are very attentive.

Good omelets and Brioche French toast! Coffee is good too. Get here at 10am on a weekend before it fills up. Nice bookstore attached to it. Friendly waitstaff too!

Good food, bad service. Every substitution will cost you. If you are offered a coffee refill, make sure to ask if it's free. Sometimes it is (like every other diner), sometimes it isn't.

Dot Cafe is awesome! They have great coffee and good food. They have something for everyone. Subs, pancakes, breakfast sandwiches etc! Definitely worth a try. I go every morning!

Dot Cafe is a great place for breakfast. People that work there are very nice and accommodating. House special is good and only $6. I am a fan of the sausage they use. This is my breakfast spot, and I enjoy coming here.

i love dot cafe! their interior and exterior is improving so much, it is becoming such a friendly and nice environment to have breakfast and lunch. it is becoming a very popular place in the area of field's corner.
