Sadly disappointed by the experience here. I read a review of GRADE A service, I'd give it a C+ at best. I read a review about delicious homemade toast, meh... It's unremarkable at best. Overall I'd say this place is okay. It has a great welcoming local vibe, cool casual chill interior, yummy cheese grits and the ginger biscuit is quite delicious. I really wish I had more positive things to say...

My first visit was today....I enjoyed the atmosphere, it was calm and very peaceful. The food I ordered was delicious and filling. The veggies wetter sauteed just right the home fries were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The hot chocolate could be a little more chocolate ( probably make it with milk instead of water) please add Almond milk to your menu! I will be taking everyone about your place.

The waiter did not listen to our very simple orders (eggs and toast, and a scone). The eggs were cooked the wrong way and the toast was cold and soft, and the waiter forgot about my scone and brought it cold even though I asked for it warm. At the end, someone dropped off the wrong check and we had to correct them. Overall really inattentive service and a low quality food experience.

Great ambience, great food, great people working there. Service could be a little bit better at times, but when it's a fresh, tasty, home cooked meal made with care good things come to those who wait. Fresh bread for french toast with fresh fruit is phenomenal. Eggs and toast with grits and turkey sausage or turkey bacon are great, too. Cappuccino is smooth and tasty. Very grateful this small business is there in the neighborhood. Five or six more neighborhood eateries like this one would completely change the neighborhood into a destination place. Lunch sandwiches and soups are bursting with flavor. But don't take this review for it. Go check out yourself and bring a friend from outside of Dorchester so they can see that Dorchester isn't what they think it is because of the news! Enjoy!

I've dined here twice. The food is good but the wait once you place your order is unreasonably long. The last time I was there they brought the wrong order and instead of expediting our meal since we had already waited 40 minutes for an egg and pancake breakfast, we had to wait another 40 minutes before we got the right meal. My bad for sitting for almost two hours to eat... Gave us a free flap jack while we waited but we really should have gotten a free meal. They need to improve their service. Won't be going back.

Do not go here, this place is in the hood in Dorchester. Nothing in Dorchester is ever good?! I went here a few times, feels like I'm going to a preschool. Little chairs, very tight spots, not enough room to move around, not meant for a family of more then 3. SERVICE TAKES FOREVER! PORTIONS ARE EXTREMELY SMALL. you would literally have to wait more then a half hour for your food. We also ordered out and bought 3 boxes of food, these mofos only sent 1 syrup, are they that cheap?! We supported a local small business but it's easy to tell they only care for themselves. They have great organic syrup but THEY ARE VERY CHEAP. It's really not worth it! Go to McKenna's they're better. Or Victoria's diner

The brioche toast is everything, and the corn beef hash is amazing. Together, they are heavenly. The ambiance has the type of vibe that you could stay all day, work remotely and enjoy lattes. The color of the walls are bright which gives energy to it's visitors and staff.

We were seated quickly on a Sunday late morning (unusual I thought). Service was only ok. Food was good but not great. Price seemed about right. I'd stop there again if in the area and Ashmont Grill has a line out the door. McKenna's at Savin Hill is better, cheaper, and has far superior pancakes.
