I love this place. The menu is simple but delicious. We always order the Caesar salad, which is perfectly made. The cocktail menu is good and very well presented. I’ve tried the burger, which is excellent, and the chicken sandwich, which I also highly recommend. The service is efficient and friendly. While the prices aren’t cheap, I think they’re reasonable for the quality they offer. The portions are a bit on the smaller side, though. Overall, Dotty’s is definitely a great spot to eat in Toronto.

Dotty’s is an absolute gem! If you’re in the area I highly recommend making them a priority visit. The Menu is very simple in the best way. The food feels very cozy and comforting. Simple yet memorable. We got the Fish and Veg which was Trout for us though I think the fish rotates. The Dessert was the real star of the show. Mango Soft Serve with a Blackberry sauce. The atmosphere is very welcoming, staff is so friendly and helpful and the Patio is very nice. The bill was extremely affordable for the amount of food and beverages we had. Everything was positive and I will absolutely be coming back regularly.

Lovely restaurant with a patio in the summer. The quality of the food is so fresh and the service is really friendly. They kindly adapted their salmon avocado dish to make it vegan - it’s spicy and zingy. The garden salad is really nice and fresh. The fries are so good! I wish they had a more substantial vegan dish but I’m very appreciative at them adapting their menu for us. Overall, the food is fresh, light and delicious. Portions are a bit small but this place is gorgeous for an early dinner.

Overall i enjoyed my experience. I know it’s supposed to be super laid back but I found the patio tables and chairs uncomfortable. Menu is small so if you’re picky it ain’t for u. Tried a bunch of things and my faves were the shrimp ceviche, crudo, and soft serve ice cream. Wished there was more to my other dishes but still satisfied with my experience :)

3.5. Went back to Dotty’s last night and felt very differently from my last experience. The service was so unfriendly- and it really threw the whole vibe. I felt like our server knew she was being off (maybe having a bad day) and literally could not have seemed less interested in us/ annoyed. The hostess was nice, the chef who brought us some of our food was good but the rest of the service was such a miss and really soured the vibe. They took the “pina nolada” drink off the menu which was sad. And they told us they pre-batch the cocktails so they couldn’t make soemthing similar. Also wanted to have the tequila drink without mezcal and again they couldn’t accommodate. None of these things is a huge deal, but in addition to the unfriendly service it was annoying. Food was solid as usual. The sticky toffee pudding was amazing. Unfortunately will not be racing back because it felt so unfriendly :( 4.5. Loved our experience at Dotty’s! No reservations, but we walked in close to 8pm on Saturday night and were able to get a table. Be mindful you may have to park a bit of a walk away. Space is minimalist in vibe, but warm and vibrant. The cocktails and mocktails were absolutely amazing- loved the pina colada- am dreaming about it. The food was great - fun to share and try lots of things. Highlights were the the cod, the steak, and the fried squash with ricotta! The French fries came with a malt vinegar Mayo that was delicious. They change up their menu so it’s fun to visit seasonally and try out the various offerings. Bathrooms are on the lower level.

I’ve been here four (actually many more) times, and loved it each time. Dotty’s is consistently good. A beautiful simple no-nonsense meal with quality ingredients and prepared with care. Prices are very fair and service is wonderful! A great neighbourhood gem. Highly recommend the squid, so good I ordered two! The aged steak is always so perfectly cooked and full of flavour, pickerel beautiful, Thai pork belly was meltingly sticky and tender, new wedge salad gorgeous! Run, don’t walk to Dotty’s… go early if you want a table! And I forgot, the soft serve is a must order if you have room, big enough for sharing and a deal at $10. Thank you Dotty’s for another wonderful evening! Update: four months later and we’ve been coming back with family and friends. Menu sometimes changes slightly but always consistent and deliciously good. Came to try the cheeseburger but didn’t get a photo as we all inhaled it. It’s incredible! Juicy, tender, full of flavour. We love Dotty’s! Thank you chef Jay and team! Updated June 13/24: Always fun spurr-of-the-moment place for dinner. Always nice to be greeted by same staff and owners. Our family’s favourite because it feels like home, and food again just simple but good! Fish always amazing with veg, thanks again Jay and team for a fun evening. Updated July 9/24: delicious pickerel with fennel, dessert is mango softserve with raspberry sauce, and light-as-air, no-bake cheesecake with blueberry sauce. Omg soooo good! Thanks again for a wonderful dinner!

2024 June 3.5★ Simple ingredients, clean atmosphere, tasteful foods on a simple menu. Chicken Sandwich $24.00 Tossed Cabbage in a unique dressing, slightly spicy tender chicken. Topped off with two grilled slices of bread. Not bad. Cheeseburger $18.00 Fresh medium rare meat. Soft bun. Homemade lightly dill inspired aioli with some dill pickle pieces. Not bad. Fish $26.00 Pan seared to a nice crispy top while flaky underside. Paired with green string beans. Pretty good. Butter and garlic sauce. Caesar Salad $16.00 Pretty good young crisp leaves. Each coated with Caesar salad dressing. Parmasean cheese and pepper to top it off. Overall, pretty good though portions are slightly smaller. Individual items makes this much more expensive. A burger and fries would otherwise be $18+$10=$28 Owner previously owned Dandelion. They are also looking to open another, more upscale restaurant across the street. Street Parking.
