Fun and spacious neighborhood tavern with a great selection of food and drink plus a good happy hour. They also have pinball machines and an outdoor patio. Casual place to meet up with friends or coworkers.

This place transports you back to the wild West. It’s got a saloon vibe with really great food and drinks. The burgers are the best around. I am always surprised that it is never too packed to have to wait for a table or a spot at the bar. Great spot!

I’ve enjoyed the vibe of this bar but every time I order a 14$ burger it comes out completely Burnt to a crisp. The ‘ caramelized’ onion are raw white onion. The wings come out rubbery and cold. Not going to this bar anymore because they obviously don’t care about putting out even halfway decent food

Consistent beer on tap and cool regulars. Wings flavor has changed (a weird taste more sour than they used to be). POS system charged full price instead of the promoted $8 Saturday wings. Single bartender working late Saturday night too busy to do anything about it.

Very awesome dive bar, excellent food and amazing, friendly staff. Their tap selection is very good and highly recommend the Yonder cider. Atmospheric patio in the back as well, 10/10 bar if you've had a rough Monday they can certainly turn it into a good one 👍

I love going here for happy hour. They have a good happy hour. A good spirits selection plus beer. The wings are popular. The max and cheese had a little kick and I really enjoyed it. It's not quite a dive bar but not anything close to fancy.

Great patio, food, drink mixology, ambiance, in this spacious bar. HUGE TV often with a movie, and more TV's all over.. sports or whatever you want them to put on really..

Food is good, no complaint on the taste or portions. Wait staff behind the counter can be a little... snippy and/or belligerent. Lines to order can get long sometimes. They've never forgotten an item I've ordered but 50% of the time they've forgotten an item of someone I'm with. No dessert options.

I love this bar, I love the pimento cheeseburger and the patio rocks. I just wish that cowboy bartender didn't pretend I was lucky to get a drink from him. Shout out to Adam, though. He's such a sweetheart. Dont let the pornstache fool you.​

Used to be a regular. Never again. As a person of color, I find it odd that I was the only one pulled out of line for an ID check. Granted, I didn't have my ID on me, so it's understandable that I had to leave. My question is, why did they not ID the other 5 people in front of me in line? Also, did the bartender really need to call me a f***ing idiot to her fellow bartenders?

Ordered: -Buffalo Cauliflower -Onion Rings -Buffalo Wings with Marionberry sauce -Gochu Peno Burger Pro: -Onion rings were flaky and crisp! -Buffalo cauliflower was the group's favorite & the buffalo sauce was a good balance of tangy and spicy. -The wings had a slight amount of batter on them which made them crunchy to eat. The Marionberry sauce was sweet and good! We'd like to try the spicier sauces next time. -Employees were really friendly and there are happy hour prices starting when they open at 2pm! Con: -The cauliflower would be easier to eat if it were cut into bite sized portions! -Burger was great with grilled veggies in it, but would have been enhanced with fresh vegetables as well! We found it a bit greasy and heavy otherwise.

Great bartenders love the chill atmosphere. We always get the wings. My fave is the classic spicy and their fried cauliflower is also another favorite. Their burgers are also a go to for me

HH from 2-6 on weekdays, all day Sunday, with daily specials. Their fries are curled wedge fries and are DELICIOUS! Good selection of craft beers, would come back. They also have 2 dart boards and I believe a shuffle board table.

Double Barrel slaps so hard. First, the food is incredible. Yummy, comes out fast and hot, and great selection of burgers. My go-tos are Gochupeno and the Western Burger, always with tots. Second, the staff are universally really friendly and manage to hold it down despite it being a pretty large and busy spot. Adam is one of the nicest dudes I've met and Chazz, the dude managing this place is from Texas and brings awesome country playlists featuring the best of indie country, books vinyl djs, including great country djs (DJ Roughrider and DJ Stone Bunny), they've even started bringing in live shows on occasion. Finally, while I usually get a six shooter (rainier and a shot of whiskey), the cocktails I've tried are delish. I go in probably every other week and always have a good time. Keep it up y'all! P.s. Not sure what the deal is with people with virtually no reviews on here throwing shade, don't y'all have better things to do with your time? Trust someone who consistently reviews spots and visits this place regularly, Double Barrel is a gem.

Disgusting. The only double barrel they had was of salt on my burger. I stopped eating after 2 bites. Cross this of your restaurant list.

This is your typical dive bar! I don't say that in a bad way. They actually have a great drink selection. I am a huge sour beer fan and they had a breakside sour in tap! I've also had a Manhattan here and it was deliciously strong. You also can't go wrong with video poker and shuffle board. They do have a patio which is nice if you want to be outside. There is plenty of seating inside too. Staff has always been friendly and quick with orders!

Surprisingly good food for a tavern! Outside was nice, cool retro arcade games inside! Cool vibe!

Tried this restaurant out of the blue & SO glad I did! They have a great happy hour menu, super friendly staff, outdoor seating & great wings & tots!! The bartender was super sweet. Thanks for a good time!

UPDATE:. Chazz, Manager, called and we talked through what happened. I was impressed that he would take time out of what I know is a busy schedule to sort this out. He agreed this situation was unacceptable. I agreed to update my Yelp review with a favorable impression of his management style and hospitality. This bar is in my neighborhood and I want to be supportive. I will be giving Double Barrel a second chance. Thank you, Chazz, for the quick response. Because of the worst service imaginable the other night, I chose to not leave a tip. The bartender was rude, incompetent and arrogant. He then chose to "reward" himself and gave himself an unauthorized tip. This is theft. I plan to dispute the tip portion of the transaction.

This is the second negative review of this place. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt. Maybe the bartenders were having a bad night. But I guess not. They continue to be very rude and do not provide good customer service. Go elsewhere, so many other places. The drinks are overpriced anyway not to forgive the lousy service.

most fire chicken n tots ever! everyone's really nice when i go there. Food is out usually in under 15 mins! Even while it's busy. Great lil dive bar vibe, fun games to play. Highly recommend

Easily the most mismanaged bar in Portland! It's vastly understaffed, the bartenders are pathologically anemic, and they seem to pride themselves in their rudeness. On ANY evening, they'll always be four to six people in line ahead of you to get a drink, and it ALWAYS takes 20 minutes to get your drink. There could be five people in the bar, and all of them are usually in line to get drinks. So sadly mismanaged.

Good food and rude bar service. Two things I can always count on. They show Blazer games on the projector screen and have a small patio in back.

Double Barrel continues to offer poor customer service despite the owner's assurances that this will change and get more responsive bartenders. Avoid this place at all cost. Portland offers so many better options. I waited. And waited. Waited some more to get the attention of an otherwise not too busy bartender. She was far too interested in chatting with her friends than doing her job. And, sadly, this is not the first complaint I have made along these lines about this place. A lousy place remains a lousy place despite my efforts to think it might change.

Not very good bartenders. Get flustered if you ask for something out of their comfort zone. One was very rude. Others were ok.

I love the fried cauliflower with buffalo sauce. So good. The cheeseburgers are too spendy for not coming with fries. You had to pay $3.00 extra to get fries with the burger. Ugh

We were looking for a late lunch/happy hour spot to eat before heading back to the office. I've been by this place for several years but never wandered in, so we decided to try it out. ------------------------------------------------------- Happy Hour is 2p-7p Mon-Fri & All Day Sunday ------------------------------------------------------- We all had the Single Barrel Burger for $6, and I opted to add the Tater Tots for $2. The burger was done perfectly! The fresh and juicy beef patty tasted so good. The tots were fried to perfection as well. They were not greasy, not crunchy, and pure golden. The interior is very clean and comfortable. I could hang out in there for hours. The bar decor is beautiful, like a combination between a western saloon and a 5-star hotel bar. (Yeah, just imagine that for a moment.) Anyway, I decided to write this review because there are not current menus posted and the happy hour times were impossible to find. So I snapped and posted the newest menu in the photos.

My husband and I reluctantly returned to Double Barrel the other night and we were pleasantly surprised. Things seem to be better, overall, compared to our last visit. The new cook was pushing out some great burgers. The fries weren't as good as they used to be - really hunky and heavier than the lighter crispier fries they used to serve. But they were still ok to eat, for sure. It was great to see that the new management has settled in a bit.

This is my go-to neighborhood bar based on sheer proximity, but I like so many things about it I'm glad its only a few blocks away from me! Disclaimer: The service is not consistent, and in fact most bartenders who work there show much disdain for me. Luckily, some of their rotating bartenders (who work at a few of this bar group's locations) will work here now and then and they are super nice. The kitchen staff who brings out the food is also super nice, so it balances out. I like this bar for many reasons: 1. Happy Hour -- Goes til 7pm and is all day on Sundays (( this is great for meeting up with friends )) 2. Games -- They've got a giant projector to watch sports on, Buck Hunter, darts, and more stuff in the back 3. BURGER -- This is my favorite burger in all of Portland. It's no frills, perfectly greasy and really hits the spot all around. It's also on the happy hour menu, which is absolutely clutch. 4. WANGZ -- The wings here are awesome. They have a variety of fun flavors but my favorite are the Portland Wings -- habanero marionberry glaze *drooooooool* 5. Patio -- Back patio is perfect for bringing dogs and your friends who need a smoke with their drink TLDR: Expect "Portland-style" service from the bartenders, good service from the kitchen. Go with friends, get burgers/wings/tots, get drinks & have unabashed fun!

I love this bar. It's my neighborhood spot. Thankful they are still open. Pandemic times suck for sure. The new bartender, Heather?, didn't call last call and refused a last round at 10:40! With attitude! Disappointing since it was my birthday.

Normally enjoy this bar, but on 3/19/19 at around 4:30 had the most extreme displeasure of dealing with the rudest bartender I've ever encountered, Jordie (sp?). I was playing darts with a couple of friends and enjoying our beers, when one friend decided to use the machine on the wall that is specifically to allow you to pay money to hear the tunes you want to hear, obviously Jordie didn't like this as she came over and quite rudely stated "You're fucking up a great playlist". Ah well, a little rudeness can be tolerated from Portland bartenders, however with his next tune she yelled at us 'Oh, No, Your'e NOT playing System of a Down', and quite literally shut off the jukebox. The jukebox my friend had put $5 in, she did not offer him a refund, and when he requested one she refused. Even other patrons at the bar were upset she shut off the tunes my friend was playing. To be fair, I liked her playlist, but then I'm 50 and not everyone in the bar liked what she was playing. And, of course she thought it was a great playlist, everybody loves their own playlist, duh. My thoughts: Jordie, you're a bartender, not a dj; people don't come to The Double Barrel to listen to your playlist, so if you cannot get a job as a dj and must remain a bartender perhaps you should put an 'out of order' sign on the jukebox. Sure it will cost the bar money, and probably get you fired if the boss finds out; but at least you won't be ripping off customers who are just trying to drink some beer and have an enjoyable time. That was a real POS move.

Seriously, they had the best grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup I have ever had. For real. The sandwich seemed to have multiple cheeses and was so thick and gooey, you almost needed a fork. The soup was more like a really great Italian marinara (topped with cheese) than your basic tomato bisque soup. It was chunky and rich and perfect for dipping your sandwich. This, for $6 on the happy hour menu. Often, I am not happy after leaving a happy hour (steep prices and small portions and spendy drinks) but this happy hour was really worth the trek around the neighborhood looking for parking. They have video poker, pinball tables and a shuffleboard, for those who are there for more than food and drink. The brunette female bartender was great and pretty much manning the whole place by herself. Kudos for such great service on a busy night (who knew Monday's would be busy?) This is a super cool neighborhood bar with a great happy hour. They also have a fireplace and the joint is dimly lit, so it could be a great place for an intimate, low key date night.

Out walking on a Portland vacation day--wanted some good day drinking and we found it here. Good craft brews? Check Good happy hour starting at 2pm? Check Pretzels cooked to order? Check Jesse who's a doll of a bartender that mixed me up right? Check and double check!! I want to stay in Portland longer so I can come back! Oh yeah, pet friendly on the patio so I met a dog too. Bam!!

I haven't been here in ages. Then, I heard they were open during the pandemic and was super stoked... I had a great experience on the back patio! It was heated, covered, and the bartender Heather was super nice. What a great date spot! Two thumbs way up!

This place is awesome! Great atmosphere, good drinks, great beer selection, and the music playlists are always on point with the atmosphere. The one complaint I have about Double Barrell is that the service is extremely slow and the bartenders are not aware of the needs of the customers. Drinks will sit empty on the bar for 15+ minutes before they inquire about a refill. They don't notice when you first sit down and the initial greeting takes up to 10 minutes sometimes. They don't seem to notice when you have a menu in your hands and are looking to order food. The bartenders just aren't as perceptive as they should be. Drop the drink prices a few dollars and this service would be acceptable, but the service is entirely too slow all together. This has happened on multiple visits in a row now.

Great local bar. Good cocktails. Tater tots! Great service. Ran into the banana pub crawl, FYI they have extra suits with them in case they can recruit on the crawl.

I really do love this places food but the past three times I've gotten my burgers from here they have been just red not pink just red on the inside. Now I've called every time ahead for my orders and said something they said the would be well done........... welp they weren't. I really wanna keep getting food here but the riskyness of under cooked meat makes me nervous

Oh man! These guys are so cool that they must be paid like, $45 an hour! They chat up friends, throw away your unfinished drink, never make eye contact, won't acknowlege you whether you're patient or politely ask for service. Cause they know! That they're in THE PLACE to be and like, it's still a drag 'cause, akshully we're, like artists or gonna be in the male nursing program someday if my Dad ever shows...and the fact that you, the customer, are there is such a trifle!!! The really fun part is the horseshoe bar and they all like to hang on one side and be bros!!! Sofa king cool!!! In your dreams you can sleep with them and maybe hear about their angsty lives and maybe, if you're unlucky, have their babies! Or just leave no tip and write a negative review! Win win! Lol

Moderately rude bartender auto-grated my order without a heads-up or explanation. Also, 20% for that level of service? I'd say he must be high, but he would probably be friendlier if he was. If I have a chance to come back, taking a hard pass.

This review is only for the wings on 6/27/19 around 4:30 pm. We stopped in for Wing Week yesterday. We ordered two of the special garlic and one of the Marionberry Habanero. Out of the three orders. One and a half was not fully cooked inside. We ended up going through our entire orders with a fork. Pulling away the meat to see which ones are cooked and which ones were bloody inside. We ended up sending the uncooked wings back of course. They brought out a new order. Then again!!!!!! We went through all the new wings and one was under cooked. Total loss of appetite. Usually the kitchen staff is on point. Before this disappointment. They always have had the best wings and they are always great. I'm not sure what the heck was going on yesterday in the kitchen. But having the undercooked wings weren't cool. Yes they comped the order of wings. But I would have rather had cooked wings and not eat them with a fork!!! I Salute to the bartender on duty. His service was great!

I've been in twice now, and it's always been a good time! Today we sat outside on a warm summer day. Their prices are fairly inexpensive (I'm used to Seattle prices, so I might not be the best judge of affordability) but for $6 you get a shot and a beer and that's a great price to me!

This place is fucking savage. If you're into cool stuff and not being a total poser you should cruise it. THE FOOOOD IS UNREAL AMAZING. The bartender Nelly? Kelly? anyway he poured me THIS MOST UNREAL AMAZING drink. This place changed my life. Total support!!

Not long ago, when I saw that KJ's Bar and Grill had gone out of business and brown paper covered the windows, the fear struck. You know the fear. If you live near Division/Seven Corners, you fear a house or commercial establishment for sale is going to get torn down to make way for condos lacking off-street parking. So it was a major relief to see Double Barrel set up shop in KJ's old quarters. A typical tavern with pool tables and pinball games. To be fair, I'm not sure what realistic expectations are for service in neighborhood bar & grills around nine on a Sunday evening. We walked in and saw menus resting atop the tables, indicating to us that food was available. Nonetheless, we were not acknowledged by the bartender that was tending to a barely-21 crowd that was milling around the bar. It didn't appear any other employees were working. We plunked ourselves down at a table and sat for fifteen minutes. Nobody from Double Barrel came over, so we left. Too bad, it looks like they have a nice range of eats on their menu. The good news is we were able to obtain food and drink at nearby Nightlight Lounge. Update 5/2/14: I've been told by someone very close to me (i.e. my spouse) that Double Barrel makes some extremely good burgers and fish sandwiches. Ditto on the tater tots. I'm also told that the menu now states that you need to order food up at the bar. Knowing that, I'd be willing to give Double Barrel another crack.

Positive: Favorite dive bar. Totally remodeled and has a fireplace, projector scene for sports games and bad movies in the evenings and weekends- Rambo, Ghost Busters, etc..so really it's not divey. It's nice with a comfortable feel. Also has great back deck area. ***best chicken wings in town- 6 different flavors..and for a drinks the "six shooter" $6= 1 shot of whisky + 1 pint Ranier. Negative: only street parking I go here at least once a week.

Double Barrel is my fave go-to dinner and drink spot. Very warm and the staff is welcoming! Excellent bar food, very Portland!

We stumbled across this place when walking around and it was exactly what we were looking for. It's got strong & affordable drinks, good beer choices, arcade games, shuffleboard, an elk head on the wall and plays good music!! We will be back!!

This looks like a biker hangout but don't let that push you away! Inside you'll find a small yet fun tap list, a good selection of inexpensive bourbon/whiskey, and food that might surprise you. Happy hour is 2-7 weekdays and all day Saturday. $5 for a wonderfully cooked burger (they left it juicy, delicious, med-med/rare. Fresh beef!). 50c off draft pints. I'll be back for more!

Quaint little place on Division. The staff is nice, and the shots are MASSIVE! Literally each shot was a full cup, so you really do get your bang for a good buck if you wanna get trashed. I didn't order food, but the food looked real good. Great place for a rainy day, or a quieter place to start the night.

This place is honestly a diamond in the rough. I came here by accident, mainly because I was in the neighborhood and hungry. The decor is interesting. A mix of guns and whiskey. The burgers are amazing...huge and juicy. The wings are to die for, and the beers on tap varied and inexpensive. Happy hour is from 2-7pm :)

This place used to be the BEST spot in SE. Then they got rid of all the staff who made it a great place to hangout. Heather the bartender treated us so badly, she was rude and slow and called last call at 9:50 PM when the bar was open till 11!

I come here for the burgers and the fries. Real talk, these fries are hard to explain. They're like side winder fries (sort of like wedges meet curly fries). My drink of choice is a whiskey ginger, tonight they have a whiskey ginger burger HOLY CRAP this is good! Also, the Spanish coffee is SO LEGIT
