"A suburban brewpub three years in the making is at last planning to debut in October with an assortment of German-style beers and a display of rare and vintage cars. Double Clutch Brewing Company — an expansive bar, restaurant, and event space with a stage for live music — is aiming for a fall opening at 2121 Ashland Avenue in Evanston. The brewpub’s food menu isn’t yet finalized but chef Patrick Wasserman plans to introduce his own spin on familiar bar favorites — think shepherd’s pie dumplings — alongside traditional hits like bacon-wrapped jalapeno poppers, Buffalo wings, and double cheeseburgers. Double Clutch will also offer meats out of its on-site smoker, in addition to a full bar and wine selection." - Naomi Waxman

What a delightful dining experience! Our evening was made particularly special by our knowledgeable waitress, who guided us through an impressive selection of craft beers. Her recommendation to try a flight was spot-on, allowing us to sample various unique brews and find our favorites. The atmosphere strikes that perfect balance of comfortable and inviting, making it an ideal spot for both casual dining and special occasions. The relaxed ambiance among the classic cars encourages you to unwind and truly savor your meal. The menu is diverse and encourages sharing, which let us explore several dishes family-style. While the pickle soup wasn't quite to our taste, it speaks to the kitchen's creativity and willingness to take risks. The other dishes were absolute standouts - each one thoughtfully prepared and bursting with flavor. The portion sizes are generous, and the presentation of each dish shows real care and attention to detail. The value for the quality of food and service is excellent. We're already planning our next visit to try more of their innovative menu offerings. This place is a true neighborhood treasure, and I can't recommend it highly enough for anyone looking for great craft beer paired with delicious, creative cuisine in a welcoming setting. Pro tip: Don't skip the beer flight - it's a perfect way to discover your new favorite brew! -- The Little Juice Coupe was great.

Had a great experience with family. I recommend their beer flights if don’t know what to get. We really liked most of their beers. They have some nice smoked ones. Loved their fries. I would go back just for fries alone. Also great car collection to check out.

Let me tell you something. I stopped in just to get fries, Oooooomg. These are 🔥🔥🔥. These potatoes were fresh, tasted great! They make you want to slap someone. I mean they were um um good. If these tasted so great, I can imagine how the rest of the food tastes. I'll be back to get some more food one day. The place is very clean and has a bar. The place is very spacious and the host is very attentive once you enter the location. 👍🏾.

I visited Double Clutch Brewing Company for a private event and I’ve gotta say I’m glad the event was held here. This place was awesome! The place is huge!! Lots of areas to hang out. I only interacted with two bartenders, but they were both friendly and helpful. I had the Pilsner and it was GREAT! I expect to pay a little higher prices for locally brewed beer. Did I mention they serve other types of alcohol? Perfect for your friends that don’t drink craft beer. You don’t see this at most breweries. Tried the Double Clutch Burger with friends all and it was delicious! That cheese sauce…yummmmmmmm!!! Glad I got to visit this place! I can see myself being a regular if I was a local.

Google
I rode my bike up from the loop to stop in here. The beer was delicious. They had a few that were unlike any other beer I had before (Schwarzbier: which was black in color but tasted like a light beer. Helles Rauchbier Lager: which tasted like a bit into a brat and then drank a lager). The food was pretty solid. The old school car collection was a fun twist too. I absolutely will be stopping here again

Google
This place and the crew that work at Double Clutch are PHENOMENAL!! They were gracious enough to host our inaugural BOH Books & Brews event, with 500+ attendees. Everything went so smoothly, the food is amazing, and the bar service is top notch. Definitely stop by Double Clutch if you’re in the Evanston area!

Google
I came here quite a few times, and most of it was great! For food you definitely have lots of choices to choose from, good variety of the menu - even for picky people. Drinks wise - cocktails, wine and lots of beer. If you love beer, definitely try few of their local and seasonal ones, it’s a must! Staff is friendly, happy to acomodate your needs. Provably you will need a reservation for busy nights or bigger tables. The collection of cars changes every now and then and it’s great to see those rare beauties. 🏎️ It used to have a tiki bar in the right side of the restaurant, but couldn’t see it last time when I was there.

Google
Awesome brewery with fun atmosphere, great friendly service, and fantastic food and beers. Boyfriend and I came on a Saturday night in mid-May for dinner and drinks. The space is large and inviting with a cool array of vintage and classic cars, great for lively groups or quieter chilling in the bar area. Our server was awesome and knowledgeable - all his recommendations were spot-on. Standouts: Their silver-medaled Helles Lager (I'm not usually huge on beer but this was amazing), Saturday Special Bavarian Burger, their Bier-Battered Sidewinder Fries, and Pickle Soup (I was intrigued, and it was excellent with the burger and fries). With Happy Hour times weekdays 3-5pm, event nights like Trivia / Bingo / Karaoke / Music performances, and Weekend Brunch, there's more than enough reason to come back and try everything. Highly recommend. (Accessibility note: Currently on a leg scooter due to casted broken ankle, and it was easy and open enough to maneuver around, use bathroom, etc. Also, staff was so helpful. Hooray Double Clutch! I will be back!)

Yelp
Great place for any outings...especially sport outings. Great beer selection and the food tastes wonderful.

Mike L.

Yelp
Went for the cars left with their beer! Very cool brewery that has some amazing cars to check out. Staff was awesome from the moment you walked in until you left. Wonderful beer selection, the Hefe was my favorite! Absolutely recommend Pro Tip: the cars on display are probably worth more than the land the brewery sits on. They are THAT awesome! Amazing collection

Yelp
We had a fairly random stop for a Saturday beer + lunch. Nice building! It's enormous and has many classic cars scattered around. At the bar we got great service for a couple German beers and some chow. Both really good. Should we find ourselves in the neighborhood again we'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Never knew about this brewery in Evanston and so glad we found it. A large brewery with indoor and outdoor seating. A collection of antique and classic cars in an area for large groups. My husband had a flight, a selection of lagers, pilsner and of course little juice coupe. They also serve food and had the pulled pork sammy and double clutch burger and clutch curds. The food was better than expected, but a bit pricey. The burger was $19.95!!!. Service was very good . The place was fun and friendly.

Yelp
Popped down to Evanston for the afternoon, an area that's new to me, so it was my first time at Double Clutch. Definitely a great spot to meet with friends, grab some drinks, and enjoy tasty food. A group of us sat out on the patio, which is a tent-covered area adjacent to the parking lot. I did have a glance inside however, and it's one big space! High ceilings, bright and airy, big long tables. Seemed like a nice atmosphere. Our server, and the support staff running out food, were all very attentive. I opted for a beer first - the choice just felt right since we were at a brewery - and enjoyed hefeweizen; cold and refreshing. I'm not someone who can drink more than one however, as they're really filling so I swapped to a strawberry seltzer. It was pretty good but a bitttt to sweet for my taste. We order some apps to share: cheese curds (always a good idea), buffalo cauliflower wings (really liked these and their spice), and 'turnbuckle' pretzles (soft & warm sticked with a few nice dipping sauces). My friend and I split the steak salad for a main after that, and it was good! Probably not worth the $18 price tag though. I'd come back & bring even more friends! They've got the space, they've got the vast menu for both food and drink, and they've got good service.

Yelp
This place is a winner for me. It was my first time visiting Double Clutch and it won't be the last. We sat at the bar on a Saturday night. The service was friendly and attentive from both bartenders. They were great at answering questions about their beers, and their suggestions were spot on. For food, we tried the BAVARIAN BURGER and THE SCHNITZEL. Both sandwiches were AMAZING. The sides of BIER-BATTERED SIDEWINDERS were so addicting. For drinks, the Kolsch and the Pilsner were solid. Our bartender recommended the BERLINER WEISSE, which was delightful. Overall, I will come back here for more drinks and delicious food. The place was clean, had a fun vibe, and the service was great. Cheers!

Yelp
This brewery is definitely worth the trip out of the city. I have been here a few times now and love it every time. This past visit, I tried a flight of beers and loved every single one of them! The food is also really good, and I struggle to pick out what I want every time because I want it all! Another fun thing they do is bring in different cars for different occasions, so those are fun to look at while drinking. I will definitely be back again and again!

Brianna P.

Yelp
Both times we tried to go, there was a private event that closed off the part with the interesting cars, which was why we had gone. The food was pretty good, except for the pickle soup that was kind of just like hot pickle brine without any substance. The brussel sprouts were pretty good, potato sidewinders were also pretty good, and I liked that you could get a taster size of beers.

Yelp
Sausage platter and beer. Perfect Oktoberfest stop in. big bar and restaurant. Will return.

louis S.

Yelp
Always great beers and fun events. Check their web site for events which happen all the time. Right now Octoberfest. Unique fat fries are great. They have special menu for events too, but their regular food is top stuff. Check out the collection of unique cars that changes all the time too. Nice staff.

Yelp
Double Clutch Brewing has become a favorite spot. They always have a good selection of house brews on tap, and several guest brews. They also have a small collection of cocktails. All served by a friendly staff. The location has plenty of parking, though when it's busy the parking lot can be a bit tight. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. They sometimes have music events. They do serve food and have a menu with good variety and reasonable prices. I love their mussels. The brussel sprouts are good, and they have a yummy pulled pork sandwich. The owner collects vintage cars, and has a rotating display that is always fun.

Frank T.

Yelp
Grabbed dinner with three others. The burger was great Double patties with cheese. I also got the onion rings which are one of the best rings I've had. Definitely will return. Great service and amazing selection of beer.

Yelp
Had a holiday party here and the atmosphere was great and lively! I would definitely recommend this place!

Baylee B.

Yelp
I'll shout it from the rooftops...the staff, food and ambience is EVERYTHING! And they perfected it! We had a large party event and they made it so smooth. Maya went above and beyond. She's a great communicator, precise, attentive and helpful. She's warm, approachable and so kind! MJ was also amazing and attentive, as well as the GM (I suck for not recalling his name at the moment but he is not forgettable!). It was a wonderful time and they deserve all the praise! P.S. The food is just as great!

Katie N.

Yelp
So before checking this place out, I saw they had a lot of lager type beers, and I feared I wouldn't like their styles. However, I had an ipa and my fiance had a Shandy that we both enjoyed. Cute little space. Plenty of parking and indoor/outdoor seating. Give them a try! Bartender was super friendly.

Annette D.

Yelp
Very cool place with a variety of seating areas - outside, at the bar and general seating area at long picnic-type tables. Great selection of beers and cocktails. The menu is filled with great choices - appetizers, salads, sandwiches and delicious German delicacies. The decor stands out. The space is filled with beautiful antiques automobiles. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable about the beer selections. Great recommendations

Ken C.

Yelp
We stopped there after a movie for beers abd snacks. A big warehouse structure with lot of table. We chose a table away from the band and had nice visit with our friends. It was quiet enough for conversation without shouting. We appreciated them being open until 11 PM.

David S.

Yelp
Had a really nice time at Double Clutch Brewing. We were a little concerned when we arrived because there was a wedding (!) taking place that was using up a lot of tables, and the initial wait estimate was 20-30 minutes at about 5:30 on a Saturday. We lucked out though, and after checking out the classic cars on display (seems like they're changed out regularly based on the other Yelp pictures posted here) for less than 10 minutes, we were seated. The ladies in charge of the hostess stand could not have been nicer. I ordered the Smoked Slagel Farm Brat, and it was very good -- I would definitely order it again. The "bier-battered sidewinders" that came on the side were just ok, though. They were in desperate need of seasoning. If it's an option, I would ask for a different side item next time. Maybe onion rings? My wife had The Grilled Dill, which is essentially an artisan grilled cheese sandwich with sliced dill pickles served with a cup of pickle soup. I despise pickles and everything about them, so obviously didn't try it, but she said it was delicious. The restaurant is definitely family-friendly. I didn't see evidence of a printed kids menu, but the classics are available: mac & cheese (cup or bowl), chicken tenders, a cheeseburger. Be aware of the 2.5% charge added to all checks "to help cover the cost of health care, 401(k) and other fringe benefits provided" to the employees. It is not mandatory.

Yelp
Fun brewery that looks like it's in a former garage. It seems like there's lots of breweries like that. Double Clutch certainly has a car and garage theme going on, but the best thing about this small brewery in Evanston is the beer. Get some of these plus pretty good food. The prices are pretty good for a craft brewery, and there's live music and other reasons to get something. Came here recently mostly for the beers. It was kind of crowded but not too much. The place is kind of small so any kind of crowd will make it seem crowded though. Looks like it used to be a garage. The car theme makes a good one. Beers are the main things to get. It's about $7 a pint. We had a few of these. I liked the Altbier. This was light and refreshing. As for the food, it has typical bar stuff mostly. It's about $6 for the Chips And Salsa. Also they have Veggie Chili. There's some vegan and healthy options. Gets crowded in the small space but it's still not as busy with it being far away from the campus craziness. It's a good place for seeing live music. The beers are the main attraction, and there's good options for meat eaters and vegetarians.

Joani O.

Yelp
I was here for a private event, so I didn't have the usual experience. It is a large space and also has a patio, where people were sitting outside enjoying the weather. It was apparently a karaoke night in the room in the back where my group was allocated tables, with other friends sitting at the large bar. No one that I was with drinks beer, but we were all able to order wine or a variety of mixed drinks. I didn't eat but I heard mixed reactions to the food. Apart from the awful singing we endured (not their fault!) it was a fun night. My husband and I said we would come again and maybe meet friends here for drinks.

Vicki C.

Yelp
I hosted an event here last weekend and I can't think of anything that could have been better. The food was great, the staff was amazing (kind, responsive, efficient) and the venue itself is so cool. I received nothing but rave reviews from those that attended the event. Olivia was a delight to work with on this event. I would highly recommend Double Clutch for hosting your event. We have also eaten dinner here several times and we love it.

Mary K.

Yelp
Everything was great last night at Double Clutch! The bratwurst was outstanding, the vibe was cool and the the beer was tasty and cold. But the best part was the service and feeling welcome from the time I arrived. Jeff at the bar was really helpful and couldn't have been any nicer. I've found my new hangout place. And Monday night trivia was terrific too.

Allen A.

Yelp
I came here for an event as my company had rented out the whole place for the night. They did a really great job with the place and had plenty of bartenders and staff and the food was really good which is not what you always expect in a big event. I liked how it has two separate bars inside with one smaller and more intimate and the other in a much bigger space they have a good beer selection and overall, I would definitely come back to this place. They also have some very, very unique cars inside which I suppose you're supposed to walk around and look at while you drink - but personally, I could have cared less about the cars. I liked the atmosphere, the people, and the food. I should also mention that the food they had out for the event was very well marked with some things being gluten free. I appreciate that.

Rick P.

Yelp
I think I've written about Double Clutch before but today at lunch they really took it to a new level. I promised myself I would try something besides my usual go to's-Wings and Steak Salad. This Turkey club was perfection! I know it's not the toughest recipe, but the bread was perfect, the aioli Mayo had the perfect tang, the bacon was thick and flavorful. Of course the beers are always first rate, but the food and service here never disappoint!

Gladys C.

Yelp
Double Clutch is located in one of Evanston's church districts. The restaurant has a parking lot that appeared full but there was not a wait to get a table or to be seated. The staff was professional, polite, and very attentive to the customers. We went on a Sunday for brunch for my birthday. They have beer but also wines. I had a Australian white wine and some water. The wine was appealing to my palate. We had grilled chicken wings with dragon sauce and blue cheese dip. The wings were very spicy and delicious there were enough for 2-3 people. I had the smoked salmon and everything bagel. There was enough for two people. There is a bar with the sports on the televisions. I recommend this spot.

Mark S.

Yelp
This was our first time to Double Clutch and we were really impressed. The beer menu specializes in German style beers which were quite good. They also had a hazy IPA on tap which was excellent. My wife and I ordered the sausage platter appetizer $15.95 which had 3 different sausages along with a side of sauerkraut, pickled onions and toasted bread that was plenty for 2 people. The space is well designed with unique cars throughout the brewery and a stage in back where I was told that they have live music on Thursdays. Lots of big TVs, nice place to watch a game. I will definitely be back. So why the 3 star rating? I am taking 2 stars off for the extra 2.5% they added to my bill which states - A 2.5% CHARGE IS ADDED TO ALL CHECKS TO HELP COVER THE COST OF HEALTH CARE, 401(K) AND OTHER FRINGE BENEFITS PROVIDED TO OUR EMPLOYEES. Really? I find this insulting especially since I know the owner has a car collection worth millions and a net worth that would make most people's jaw drop. Unfortunately I did not notice this extra charge before I paid because I would have had them take it off. If you want to charge an extra 2.5%, just adjust your prices to reflect that or take care of your employees properly and pay them the extra 2.5%.

Thomas S.

Yelp
Had a better experience compared to last time. Service is attentive. Food is delicious Atmosphere is the perfect ambiance. Would dine again there. The Shandy pants is very yummy. Would go there again

Rick R.

Yelp
I came here for a storytelling event called, "Story Vroom Vroom." This event is held on the fourth Wednesday of every month. It's a great time and I highly recommend it. The bar staff were all very helpful and friendly. The beer list offers several in-house brews and I tried two different award-winning Helles lagers. The ambiance is a combo of family-friendly sports bar meets a vintage car museum. Very cool spot and I look forward to coming back.

Prachi J.

Yelp
Decent brewery in Evanston. Their tap list is good, but doesn't have any sours (which is what I was looking for). On some nights they even host live music Taking one star off because we asked the server for a cheese and ranch dipping sauce and he charged us extra without telling us. If we'd known it was extra we wouldn't have ordered...

Nicole O.

Yelp
Food was great and the place was really cool especially if you like cars! Every little details was thought of and the atmosphere felt like a garage! Service was great the bartender suggested I put woodruff in my Berliner Weiss and it was delicious! You must check this place out!

Jacqueline B.

Yelp
We came here, a party of 4, by car for Drag Bingo with (brace yourself) Muffy Fishbasket! There's also some cool old cars and old-time gas pumps in the front. We sat in the big room with the bandstand. The flight of beer was good, more economical than a whole pint I may not enjoy. The Helles Lager and Altbier were my favorite! They were out of the Kolsch. :( To eat we got fried pickles, ;sidewinder fries, wings, mac n cheese with bacon, glazed carrots, and Brew House Philly sandwich. Sidewinder fries are shaped like 'S', and kind of thick. Very odd but very good. We had enough to take home, and everything was good! I wanted to try dessert but the kitchen closed at 9. Wish they had told us that. Service was pretty good, but they waited to clear the appetizer plates til after we finished the main course. That's kind of a peeve of mine. Also, the seats were picnic tables. They had 'regular' chairs I guess by request. The hard, backless bench was not kind to my hips and rear end; I guess since the room is meant for enjoying music, they opted for visuals rather than comfort. The Drag Bingo was fun! PRizes were Easter Baskets, and one of our party won two! Muffy Fishbasket was funny, charming and the right amount of raunchy, considering kids were present. Instead of paper cards and ink rollers, we used a wooden board with plastic shades. Not as sanitary but more environmentally friendly.

Anthony G.

Yelp
My wife and self have been going to DC since they have opened and are mug club members (they keep and wash mugs for each visit). We visit a couple times a month for the great food, even better beer, and incredible service. By far the best beer I've ever had from top to bottom! Scott, master brewer is a magician! Steve, GM makes us feel like family along with Nick, Jake, Olive, Henry, Matt.....EVERYONE! Brunch and lunch/dinner menus are fantastic as everything is great. Love the burgers, nachos, and cauliflower wings. We have been there for Bears games (1/2 price beer if mug club member), other sporting events, brewery tours, our sons School Of Rock concerts in the Bier Hall, Tuesday bingo, and many other events. Everything is always so great! And let's not forget about the car museum that houses 6-8 cars and rotates out different cars frequently. Fantastic is you're a car enthusiast or not. If you want the best tasting beer by FAR in the area along with fanatic food, wonderful ambiance (with the vaulted sun roof ceiling and garage doors that open with nice weather), and better people, you must try Double Clutch. Cheers!

Ed C.

Yelp
Combine top-quality German style beers with good food and amazing cars on display. What's not to like? Beer tip- Helles Lager.

Michael W.

Yelp
First time in, have heard nothing but good. Took advantage of the venue opportunity to meet up with a HS friend I have not seen in 35 years!!! Nice space, sweet cars, we sat at the bar. I picked out a flight of 4 that consisted of: Schwarzbier Doppelbock Irish Style Red Ale Rauchbier Helles Lager All of which were great. The lager I wanted to try a small portion of because it features a brisket smoke to it. Was torn on what to pick off the menu but ultimately went for the mussels and was not disappointed. Bonus points? I'm pretty sure a slice of fresh made bread was served with my mussels. What did I learn that was new? On the bar top was a small box of what looked like fireworks or something. I could not make out what it was and did not recognize it so I asked the bar tender about it. He told us it is a German aperitif named Underburg. What did it taste like to me? Honestly, tasted like a combination between jagermeister and malort ;) "Underberg is a digestif bitter produced at Rheinberg in Germany by Underberg AG, made from aromatic herbs from 43 countries, which undergo inspections and are based on a secret Underberg family recipe whose members are personally responsible for the production of the drink. Underberg is one of the most widespread kräuterlikörs on the market. Underberg contains 1.3 percent herbal extract by weight, which includes aromatic, digestion-stimulating, relaxing and calming active substances, and naturally occurring vitamin B1. The drink matures in Slovenian oak barrels for several months to enhance the taste.[1][2] Underberg is classified under "food and drinks: oils, herbs and spices" in the United States and can be sold without any sort of liquor license.[3][4]" despite having Alcohol by volume of 44%?! Icing on the cake this night? We were unaware and unprepared, but apparently a sorority had an 80's event that night and all of a sudden an army of 80's era Olivia Newton John Let's Get Physical types showed up in every color of neon you can think of, it was awesome! What continues to be weird about Evanston to me? The way they roll up the sidewalks in a college town. Leftover from prohibition? I don't know. I mean we have breweries and distilleries in Evanston now, but when the bar tender was notifying us at 9:30pm of up coming last call, I had to check my watch to make sure I was not off. Not bad, just different and still surprising after 12 years.

Lisa N.

Yelp
What a gem of an establishment. They have a stage space for live music, a restaurant space and even a separate bar area with plenty of TVs. The beer was good, nothing special. The food was okay, typical bar food. I was expecting more from the food... I had the veggie chili and Brussels sprouts. The veggie chili was okay, it would've been better if it came with fixings like cheese, sour cream or hot sauce. The Brussels sprouts seemed like they were boiled then sautéed which I would've preferred them to be crispy/broiled. The sauce that they were served with was good, but the way they cooked the Brussels sprouts was just not to my liking.

Anthony M.

Yelp
This is more of a 3.5 for me as I thought the beer was good, but the food was bad. I came here for restaurant week because it is near work and I have always wanted to try it. The place looks beautiful and it looks like they do some good live music, but that is about all it has going for them. They have German beer which is a very high bar for me. While I do not think they met that bar, they do make some decent beers. I have had far worse than the Hef and Pilsner that I got. I would certainly come back for the beer. The food was mostly bad, but had a few bright spots. The vegan chili was actually one of the highlights of the meal. Very good and tasted like it had meat in it. The wings had some potential, but their homemade BBQ was super watery and weak. The sausage was a complete joke. It was way too big for the small soggy bun they had on it. I also believe that bun came from the supermarket so there wasn't really much. The sidewinder fries were a bit much. I finished with the brownie which was the other highlight. Eh, maybe I will come here for dessert and drinks. Like I said, the beer was good, but the food really has turned me off to the place.

Pete S.

Yelp
Great, classic German style beers. In a sea of overhopped IPA's these beers stand out for their balance and finesse.

Yelp
This is a spectacular place all-around: great fresh beer (it's a brewery) and food, live free music separate from the main dining area, service, and showcases race cars! So fun!!

Yelp
The Doctor and I met his cousin here to spend an afternoon together catching up. I was curious about the beers as they focus on making them the German style. I myself am not a big beer drinker but do appreciate one now and then, especially if it is a Hefeweizen. I decided to forego my usually bubbles and got the Hefeweizen (5.4% abv). Have to say it was pretty good, but I could only do one as beer fills me up. Since we had gotten there before 2 pm, we had to order from the brunch menu, so I was able to get a mimosa. The glass looked promising in size, but did not quite meet expectations as there was more juice than bubbles in it. I ordered the Schnitzel & Gravy and the Autumn Brioche French Toast. The Autumn Brioche French Toast was very good. It came topped with a warm cranberry apple compote. The only problem with this dish was that it did not come out with the Schnitzel & Gravy. Not sure what happen but I was half way through my meal before it came out. The Schnitzel & Gravy was a nice size dish but lacked flavor for me, I had to supplement it with a lot of salt and pepper. Not something I would order again, but most likely I would not come here for brunch. For folks that ordered after 2 pm, I did see what looked like amazing sandwiches and wish I could have gotten those instead. I would like to go back to try the burger or brat as those looked great on the table next to us. The physical space itself is beautiful and you can tell the owners put a lot of effort into it. Not sure why they have a car collection, but don't care as they are beautiful. Double Clutch also sells merchandise...ended up getting The Doctor one of their shirts. It was very well made and had a good weight and feel to it. This is a place I would come back to for lunch and the Hefeweizen beer. Overall I would give the physical space and beer four stars, the brunch three stars based on the food and service.

Yelp
Great first visit of what will undoubtedly be many anytime we are in Evanston. Beer was 5* and the food we tried was 4*. Love the ambiance with the wood, neon, warehousey vibe. Will be great in warm weather when the big doors are open also. Large bar area along with two big seating areas with different types of tables. With my German heritage, I loved that they have chosen to focus on German style beers and from what I tasted, they are off to a great start. I loved the Citra harvest wheat (perhaps a little twist on the typical wheat beer) - it was crisp, balanced and refreshing. Also enjoyed the Altbier and the Marzen a lot, lager was good. Can't wait to go back to try others. Sorry if you're an IPA or sour lover. We had a dinner planned so just tried the dill pickle soup and the pierogies. Both were good - not killer flavor but fun. Definitely want to go back to try sandwiches that looked good as well as the pretzels. Service was good and pretty amazing for a new place.

Yelp
Went here for lunch w/dad and brother - seated quickly on a Friday just after opening, and the main area by the bar was just about full already (popular place!) Dad ordered pulled pork sandwich, brother chicken sandwich, and I ordered a spinach salad with roasted pears/cheese/bacon/pecans, etc. Food was delicious with ample portions (sides of fries were delicious - I sampled from brother's plate). Beer was tasty as well - Kolsch & Helles (or Hefeweizen?) unsure which beer brother ordered but we all enjoyed them, however the original one he ordered was out and wouldn't be back until 6-8 weeks! (womp womp) so that was the only bummer - and they also seemed to be out of a few others, so it's good that they are popular but also hopefully can keep up with their demand

Yelp
So my daughter had her wedding last night at double clutch,it was done so professional ,our wedding planner was remarkable, and worked so hard, she was a beautiful committed young lady and made a good impression on us all by doing what she said she was going to do and more,I can't remember her name, but she's getting married soon so that's your girl.the food was phenomenal ,the bartenders were full of joy and very efficient and quick. The way the room looked was phenomenal, they were able to do e erything I asked for.they also let the grooms check out their amazing cars, wish the parking lot was bigger, but for Evanston parking I can't complain,I was very impressed with this establishment, thankyou double clutch for a night of joy and happiness and thanks to all the staff, and party planner ,manager, bartenders!you are thanked and held in high reguard!

Yelp
Very fun setting (cars and skylights) and tasty food (nachos, blueberry pancakes). Service was great - friendly and efficient - especially considering we arrived only 30 mins before kitchen close. Loved the beer sampler and ginger beer as well .

Yelp
Fun place! Lots of delicious beers. As someone who hates IPAs I was really excited about the selection of German/Czech style beers. The pierogis were also delicious. Service was friendly and it was a nice place to hang out on a Sunday afternoon.

Yelp
Love the beer and the food and the staff is always a joy! Decided to come in from the west burbs for karaoke. First time at their karaoke and unfortunately it was not pleasant. The audio was so bad that it was hard to even be in the building. Not the singers - karaoke is always hit or miss - but the actual speaker system. It sounded like it's underwater. Karaoke DJ was speeding up the tracks for the songs people wanted to sing and unless I was hallucinating my entire life, I'm positive she even cut off songs when there was still verses left for some people. Worst karaoke I've been to in Chicago and it's not close. I'll just stick to their drag Bingo!

Yelp
First time visiting this establishment. It is very clean, aka floors are not sticky like some of the other breweries in Evanston. Food options are great and the portions was reasonable. The beer options were good as well. Service was quick and attentive. I did not have the opportunity to visit the car museum section as there was a private event blocking access into that space.
