The Best Restaurants on Portland’s Southeast Division | Eater Portland

"Southeast Division cocktail bar and restaurant Double Dragon is cozy and cool inside, but its spacious patio is the main attraction during the warmer months. Sitting on a triangle of lower Division, the roofed outdoor space is great for chatting with groups of friends, listening to the bar’s always on-point playlists, and enjoying a thick-cut pork belly banh mi and crispy French fries with sambal aioli. For indoor folks, the spot is great for date night with its low lighting and wide range of tropical and smoky cocktails." - Zoe Baillargeon

My second time here, both visits were impeccable vibes, drinks, and food. Between the two visits I’ve had five things off the menu and three of the cocktails, and I was ecstatic about all of them. Our go to place is Lift Off Lounge 🍸 in NE, and Double Dragon is its tropical cousin. We would be coming here all the time if we lived in SE!

Only stopped for drinks, but they were all so amazing. We can’t wait to come back to try the food as it all looked so good. Super cute place with lots of outdoor seating.

Two and a half stars, rounded off to three. Enter Double Dragon and have a basket of menus greet you. No one else would when we visited the restaurant on a recent afternoon, nor was there even a sign indicating you have to order at the bar, as opposed to being seated and having wait staff help you; there is no wait staff at this establishment. There is not much space between the door and the bar, so enjoy breathing down one another's neck while you wait to place your order. We ordered and seated ourselves. When the bartender gave us our food, that was our last contact with the staff until they took away the plates and glasses. I guess Double Dragon enjoyed the mysteries of how much we liked our meals or if we needed anything so much that they did not want to find out. Double Dragon looks set up to be a bar, not an eatery, which is pretty funny, because the food was very good. Not that they asked what we thought.

Our favorite restaurant while visiting Portland! The cocktails are great, but the food is nothing to sleep on either. It's a more limited menu, but every single item on it is so delicious and flavorful so it doesn't matter.

Absolutely stunning space, unique and exquisite drinks and food. The ambiance is perfect, although a little dark. I will definitely be coming again!

A pleasant surprise! Food was tasty and had beautiful presentation. Very limited menu which allows them to serve food very quickly. Nice for a light bite and a cocktail. Also very vegetarian friendly.

Double Dragon is a vibrant restaurant and bar located in the Hosford-Abernethy neighborhood of Southeast Portland, Oregon. Established by Chef Rob Walls in 2011, it initially gained popularity as a bánh mì sandwich shop. Over the years, it has expanded its menu to include a variety of Asian-inspired dishes and innovative cocktails. The menu at Double Dragon is known for its creative fusion of flavors. Initially, it featured "Portland-influenced" bánh mì sandwiches with options like pork belly with jalapeño and roast duck with orange and ginger. The menu has since evolved to include dishes such as Kimchi moules-frites, Miso Disco Fries, and duck wings with tamarind glaze. The bar is also renowned for its cocktails, which often incorporate unusual flavor combinations, such as seaweed tincture and pho syrup. Double Dragon's ambiance is casual and inviting, with a spacious patio that is popular during the warmer months. The interior features a "plant bar" aesthetic, creating a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. The establishment is open daily, offering lunch, dinner, and late-night options, making it a versatile spot for various dining occasions.

Great food, fantastic craft cocktails. The crowd was a little Karen-y which was surprising for such a cool place, but no matter. The post-punk tunes and great bartenders were awesome. Check it out if you're down for some SE Asian flavors.
