Yelp
This is my family's favorite Chinese restaurant. We've been eating here for years. Though it doesn't look like much, and you could easily drive past without another glance, you'd be missing out.
The dinner prices are expensive, but the lunch special is a great value! Some family favorites for entrees are the broccoli beef, the kung pao beef, the general tso's chicken, and the orange chicken. (The orange chicken is served a bit spicier than at some other restaurants, but you can customize the spice level to your preference.) The crab rangoon and the spring rolls are wonderful if eaten immediately. The egg roll is worth skipping. The hot and sour soup is adequate, but the egg drop soup is tasty. The crispy noodles are delicious if fresh, but are sometimes stale, though at only 25 cents a bag, are a bargain. For a small upcharge, you can make the fried rice in any meal chicken fried rice, and that's definitely the way to go, as the chicken fried rice is delicious, and lacks those funky bits of egg that are present in the fried rice at some other restaurants.
No matter how complicated or long our order is, or how many special requests we have, Double Dragon has never gotten it wrong. The food is always hot, fresh, and delicious. The service is always friendly, even if it is a little slow sometimes because they're a small family operation and at peak times they're cooking on all burners. I do wish they'd update their facility a bit, especially the bathroom and the dining area, but really Double Dragon is a takeout joint that just happens to have a few tables in case people do want to eat in. Also, a fountain pop machine would be a nice upgrade, and possibly a menu board that has pictures of the food they're serving, because the food pictured on the menu does not look like what's being served. (In most cases, the actual food served is better looking!) Parking downtown on the street can be a hassle, but the food is definitely worth it.
Double Dragon will always be our favorite for Chinese takeout!
