Downtown’s classic counter‑service stop for fast, piping‑hot takeout—sesame chicken, fried dumplings, and dependable lunch combos are the draws. It’s been a downtown standby for years and was previously spotlighted by Visit Fort Wayne as a handy central option.

This place is seriously a staple of Fort Wayne. The low prices here are a crime. $3.25 for a pint of the best wonton soup!!! Great fried dumplings. Love their House Specialty Lo Mein that has four meats and a great brown sauce.

Google
The best Chinese food in Fort Wayne, hands down. It is a family owned restaurant and the food is delicious! They make everything hot to order and the service is warm and friendly. We have been going there for years now and have NEVER had bad food or service. They are definitely worth the trip. We tend to order ahead and pick up to take it home. The seating space is small and tight quarters so take away is more comfortable for our family of 6.

Google
I got fried wontons, hot and sour soup, and empress chicken lunch combo with fried rice. The soup had good flavor and was thick, getting to the point of too thick. The sweet and sour had strong citrus flavors which was good. The fried rice had a nice hint of char but was light on ingredients. The empress chicken serving was plentiful and good flavor.

Google
This is a great takeout Chinese place in downtown Fort Wayne. Dumplings are the best in town! You _could_ eat there, but it's better for takeout. They are very flexible about adding or removing from any dish. Stop reading this review and order! You won't be sorry!

Kristin Harris

Google
Ordered #2 special that included STEAMED Broccoli. They placed STEAMED Broccoli under sesame chicken and gravy so the STEAMED Broccoli was COVERED in sauce and soft. When ordered, they said 20 min. We had to wait additional 20 minutes when we got there

Elizabeth Cour

Google
Me and my family have been eating at this restaurant for the past 15 years and I currently stop eating there because they only serve the orange chicken and the The chicken spicy and that was the only thing that I would order and now I don’t order it no more since they only wanna serve it spicy I can handle spicy, but sometimes you don’t always wanna eat spicy

Matthew Ray

Google
Ordered a sesame chicken combo plate, Mongolian beef, hot and sour soup, and an egg roll. Added a little chili oil and it’s honestly top tier. Highly recommend!

Orlando Young

Google
Was not impressed. The food reminded me of frozen food heated up. Admittedly, I was looking for freshly made Asian food.

Yelp
Found this place because its one of the only Chinese places with a delivery option in my area. But I also loved their contactless payment during the pandemic! Picking up my carryout was always quick and easy! My family always get their beef lo mein and the Chicken on a stick appetizer is a favorite too! We've ordered plenty other items off the menu and you cant go wrong with any of them.

Yelp
Unfortunately I cannot recommend. Horrible service (I lived in Asia many years), food poisoning twice, do not spend your money here. Really, it's bad.
google avatar

Yelp
I'll keep it short. Not many places were open in this place happened to be open. I ended up ordering the pineapple chicken. All I have to say is it wasn't good. I think I counted eight or nine pieces of pineapple. The vegetables that came with this particular dish were basically raw. I'm guessing they were slightly sauteed and that's it. The chicken was tender and most definitely the best part of this pineapple chicken dish. Most definitely not worth what I ended up paying.

Yelp
Just up street and around the corner from the Hilton this small but efficient Chinese restaurant has some great kung pao chicken and even Moo Shu chicken to choose from. Unlike most lunch specials I have consumed, Double Dragon gives you a choice of soup to go! Whether stopping in to pick up lunch or going for dinner the wait was never more than a few minutes. Highly recommended especially when trying to avoid the expensive hotel options!

Yelp
It's fine, sesame chicken was extra crispy so that was nice Girl at the front was inattentive. On her phone, took her a while to realize I was there even though I was the only one in the restaurant. Gave me hot and sour instead of the egg drop I requested. Do better, not difficult

Alyssa C.

Yelp
amazing, hot, fresh. the chow mein was so yummy and the sweet and sour chicken was delicious. the food stayed steaming hot through a 20 min car ride. The inside is a little older and run down, but it's a take out place. it doesn't matter if it's nice on the inside, what matters is food quality. The service was quick, took 10 mins to receive our order. Will come back!

Yelp
A small mom and pop takeout serving Chinese food at a fair price in Fort Wayne. Pretty good food and busy.

Yelp
I heard about this place from a friend, didn't have high expectations but this was some of the beat takeout i've had. I ordered orange chicken with fried rice, sesame chicken with lo mein & an order of Crab Rangoon, chicken was crispy and fresh and sauces were great with the right amount of spice! Fried rice was good, but nothing special, lo mein was some of the beat lo mein i've had, and you could tell noodles were fresh! Crab Rangoon was delicious & also fresh!

Yelp
The meal and food are affordable price which I personally like to eat when I get from Double Dragon their chicken fried rice and crab rangoon. It is in the heart of downtown where there are cooks who make the food to be tasting good and variety of options. It has been a favorite Chinese restaurant of mine since 2008 in Fort Wayne.

Yelp
Very good Chinese food in Fort Wayne. They have a good Kung pao chicken. A delicious combination of different vegetables and chicken with peanuts. Definitely recommend this place.

Yelp
Last minute decision to grab carry out. I should have passed. The ONLY that was hot and freshly made was the dumplings. The crab ragoon, the wontons were OLD, yes OLD. They were barely warm and over cooked fried too hard, and dark in color. I will not be returning. 09/14/2022

Yelp
Double Dragon in Downtown. They don't play. Pretty good Chinese up in here. Good egg rolls n rice and all of that stuff. They got beef, pork, chicken, shrimp. Fresh vegetables cooked in a Wok. Mixed up good too. Nice little spot Downtown (prime spot of town) right by here. Hot little spot.

Yelp
Only can review their soups. But this little gem has some great options on their menu I can't wait to try. This place is located downtown so parking can be a little tricky especially during the busier traffic times. There is street meter parking out front and parking lots close by and is easily accessed with walking. There are a few tables inside but this is more of a carry out place. I ordered their egg drop soup and it was hot and tasty. I also ordered their hot and sour soup and I was pleasantly surprised by the peppery taste it had be a spicy Taste. It was also served hot and I only ordered a small and regretted it because it was that delish. I cannot wait to go back to order it again except I'll get the larger size. Both were well priced and easily could serve three people with the larger size. The only disappointment I had was you had to ask for condiments where other take out places like this have self serve and when I asked for soy sauce they gave me two packets. Def not enough. ESP if it's for more than two people to share. Staff was as can be expected and they were very busy with take out orders. I went about 5 pm on a Friday. I recommend trying it out. It's really tasty.

Yelp
You get exactly what you expect from this place. It's just tasty american chinese food at a decent price. The quality is consistent and you get exactly what you order.

Yelp
One word: Bland. I have been unsuccessfully trying to find a decent Chinese carry out restaurant in town. This one is not the solution. I ordered 4 different dishes for my family and none of them were anything to write home about. I asked for the General Tso's to be super hot, as hot as they could get it. It tasted fine, if you like sweet with no heat whatsoever. They said the Sesame chicken was spicy, but it was not even detectable. I got special fried rice which is supposed to have all the meats in it, but you would be hard pressed to find more than a couple bites and the fried rice itself had absolutely no flavor. I had to put soy sauce on it which I never do because most stir fried rice already has a good flavor. My husband had Mongolian beef, but it was almost all onions and no beef. No crispy rice sticks either. The egg rolls were actually pretty good although my husband said his tastes burnt. The hot and sour soup had absolutely zero hot, very little sour, and way too much corn starch slime. Won't making the trip downtown to get this again.

Yelp
Best Chinese food in fort Wayne for the money! Love the fried dumplings and crab rangoon

Yelp
Finding a good take out Chinese place in Fort Wayne isn't common. I've tried several and decided to make the trip down town. I'm glad I did! We went on a Sunday evening and I was surprised at the amount of people coming in to get carry-out. I love going down town to try out of the way things. The DD is set in a simple shop. No impressive décor...just simple like most Chinese take out places. The team running the shop was well manned to serve all the orders. They really hustled and served their customers well. As for the food I ordered the General Tso's chicken and my daughter had Orange Chicken. Both dishes were very tasty and better than most places that do carry out. The egg drop soup was like most stores. The fried egg roll was crispy, packed with filling and very tasty. You get soda by the can - FYI. Prices are about what you'd pay anywhere else. Our order was prepared in about 10 minutes. The only down side we had dealt with the front door. We decided to dine in to get the experience of eating downtown. Unfortunately the front door doesn't shut all the way so lots of cold air comes in whenever someone goes in or out. I think I got up and shut the door about 8 times in my 45 minutes there. I will definitely be back. Give it a try if you want good Chinese carry out!

Yelp
Can't find anything on this menu I don't love. If I got shot walking there for carry out I'd get the food before going to the hospital.
google avatar

Kim M.

Yelp
The Double Dragon is close to my work so it's a convenient take out location. I rarely eat inside, it always seems steamy and crowded. I generally get egg rolls and if I'm being adventurous, I'll have the Cashew Chicken. I'm not an extreme fan of Chinese food, but I do like it every now and again Pros: quick and convenient - reasonable priced and they DELIVER in the downtown area. Cons: inside is steamy and crowded, not always the cleanest.
google avatar

Kim M.

Yelp
Fried rice and egg rolls needs improving but sesame chicken is good. Miss the Singapore Rice noodles - they changed it (not for the bette4), then discontinued it. Saw a notice about raising prices. Wrong move. Don't do it. You're already on the verge of being replaced by another choice.

Yelp
Went for the first time today! Ladies were super fast, super efficient, GREAT lunch special (7 dollars for a bowl, I got General Tso chicken - came with fried rice and egg roll). Given hot and fresh, perfect for this rainy day5. Thank you guys!

Yelp
Really disappointing. The Szechwan chicken was kind of okay, but the meat was almost soggy (?) and seemed pretend. The sauce was generically sweet/spicy and just meh. But the curry beef? Absolutely terrrrible. Like, inedible. My husband couldn't make it through a single plateful and pitched the rest. The meat was chewy, but also had the same weird consistency as the chicken somehow? And it had no flavor. None. The only reason I even gave it two stars is because the dumplings and egg rolls weren't the worst. I've been looking for a decent Chinese restaurant since I moved to Ft. Wayne and I'm starting to believe it just doesn't exist. I saw some positive reviews on this place and mistakenly got my hopes up. Won't be going back.
google avatar

Tara O.

Yelp
It's a tiny place I walked by for ages without stopping in, and it may be a little run-down on the inside, but the food is phenomenal. If you stop in and order to-go at the counter, it usually only takes 7-10 minutes before you're on your way. I haven't tried calling ahead before. But I've been working through their menu trying as many of the chicken options as I can and I haven't found a non-winner yet! Everything I've tried has been delicious. I always order the larger portion size; it feeds me for at least 4 meals. So if you're not planning on leftovers, get the smaller size or split one among 2-3 people. You definitely get your money's worth!
google avatar

Jenna J.

Yelp
The food was okay, there are definitely at least a few better Chinese places in town. I was most upset that I ordered two orders of crab Rangoon (for two people) for delivery (through third party) and they made a point to call me to tell me they had to charge for the second sweet and sour. Why if you don't have to charge for one? And that picky over $1 for some sauce?! When I said I got two orders and each comes with one, she didn't speak English And didn't understand me so she charged me anyways! Wt!

Yelp
Conversation Between My Taste Buds, Double Dragon, Take 1, Action! Taste Bud #1: What should we try first? The hot and sour soup or the moo shoo pork? Taste Bud #2: I don't know about you, but I'm diving in the sweet and sour sauce. Taste Bud #3: (Already lounging on a pancake) Hey, will one of you oil me up with that teriyaki sauce? I'm trying to get a tan. Taste Bud #2: (Dives into the sweet and sour sauce, ignoring #3, and starts singing) "Sweet dreams are made of this. Who am I to disagree?" Taste Bud #1: (Dips into the hot and sour soup and uses a floating bamboo shoot as a balance beam) So this is what it's like to Wok On Fire! This stuff is nice and spicy! Taste Bud #3: (After oiling itself with teryiaki sauce and wading on the pancake, it gets up and dries itself off in the soy sauce-drenched rice.) Taste Bud #4: (Stays silent as it roots around in the wonderful layers of spices and flavors of the moo shoo pork.) Taste Bud #2: (Cushioned in a crispy egg roll and taking a dip in the sauce) I do feel like I'm Woking On Fire. (After a few minutes of frolicking on a chicken wing, the taste buds gather around to read their fortunes as they lounge on the fortune cookies.) Taste Bud #2: "A cheerful message is on its way to you." Oh, I got the message all right. That sweet and sour sauce would even tempt a diabetic! Taste Bud #1: "A quiet evening with friends is the best tonic for a long day." Mmm...the best tonic was Woking on the fiery spices of that hot and sour soup. Taste Bud #4: Hey, I got the same fortune! (Chews maddeningly on the delicious fortune cookie.) Oh, well. Taste Bud #3: Here. Take mine. It says, "Love begets love." Taste Bud #4: It begets something, all right. I think I'm going to go lay down. I've got a food pleasure overload. (Cut.)

Yelp
I live in New Haven and never find myself going into Downtown Fort Wayne, but I ventured down to check out the new renovations they've made. I stopped at this restaurant and ordered garlic chicken. The wait was little and the food was great. The sauce in the chicken was slightly spicy and had lots of flavor. All the vegetables were cooked perfectly and I would definitely go again.
google avatar

Jenna H.

Yelp
Best crab Rangoon in town! My husband and I always spilt the general tso's and each get an order of crab Rangoon and we always have leftovers. Sooo good and great portion size.

Yelp
Am always on the prowl for off-beat Chinese restaurants when traveling. If Oriental ambience is important in a Chinese restaurant, this may not be the place for you. However, if delicious Chinese food at reasonable prices is your cup of tea, check this place out. Had egg drop soup, egg roll, fried rice and mongolian beef. Each dish was very tasty and authentic, particularly the mongolian beef - plentiful beef and lots of grilled onions. A real find!

Betty D.

Yelp
I had Sweet and Sour Pork , Crab Rangoon, eggroll and pork fried rice. It was a good quantity and the crab Rangoon was excellent. Pork fried rice was alittle plain, imo but hit the spot. The price was reasonable and the food was tasty and delish! I'd order from here again.
google avatar

Taylor T.

Yelp
Very very tasty! Environment: I can't lie this is a more run ddown, lower quality looking place. It's more of a quick in and out eating place. I do like that you can see the kitchen tho! Very fun to watch the food being made! Servixe: quick, easy, and too the point! Very much a feeling of pay and leave. Not many people stay and eat.. I did not so I can't comment on the actual service, if there is any at all! Food: the God is truly the star of the show! Taste great and cost little! Totally worth every penny and I would go back daily I I coukd!

Yelp
As far as inexpensive takeout Chinese places go, I have yet to find any place anywhere that can compete with the food here. Pretty much anything on the appetizer list is incredible. Full-sized chicken wings. Crab Rangoons that are everything you'd hope for and a must-get. Their potstickers, served steamed or fried, are different than the dumplings I've had at any other Asian restaurant. Instead of gyoza-style, they're round, doughy balls encasing a thick, hearty sausage bite, served with the traditional gyoza dipping sauce. Soups are great, with the hot and sour being my favorite. I almost always order the General Tso's Chicken, which is the perfect level of savory and spicy. Unlike a lot of other Chinese places I've eaten at, their sauces are flavorful and unique instead of just tasting like mostly ketchup with some spices. Orange chicken is also a great choice, probably my second favorite.
google avatar

Tessa G.

Yelp
This is my go-to takeout Chinese spot downtown (mostly because it is only half a mile from my apt). The service is quick--and when I say quick I mean your order is done 5-10 minutes after calling it in. Be sure to be in the area when ordering or ready to walk out the door. My personal favorites are the General Tso's chicken and hot and sour soup. May be the best hot and sour soup I have had in Fort Wayne. Almond chicken is also a great dinner, and I am a fan of the crab rangoon. The inside leaves a lot to be desired. I have never actually ate in. But do not let that scare you away! This hole in the wall is worth it. Prices are very reasonable and make for a cheap but filling lunch or dinner. Actually who are we kidding you know you are hungry an hour after eating Chinese. Which is great since you will most likely have leftovers!
google avatar

Stuart D.

Yelp
This is the best god d*mn Chinese food I've ever had. Everything from the soup to the fortune cookies are bomb af! The garlic chicken is A+, and the beef and peppers is also delicioso. This is the only place I will go to get some good ass Chinese food. Im hungry asf right now and the only thing I want is Double Dragon. I think I might be addicted. Also shout out to my homie Alan. BTW NOT SPONSORED!!!!!!!!

Alisa E.

Yelp
The food gets worse and worse every time I order. If this review was only for their crab rangoons though it would be 5 stars.. I have an addiction and they are good every time.
google avatar

Christopher H.

Yelp
You know, I come here a lot and I have never thought to write a review! The food here is great! The Service is always prompt. Just a few key things to make sure your visit is a success. 1. CASH ONLY - their is a Wells Fargo ATM across Wayne 2. Delivery is made anywhere in town if the order is big enough. They deliver to my work out at Jefferson Point as long as I can wrangle up enough people to spend $20 3. It is cheap for chinese, so hitting the delivery minimum by yourself is hard to do I don't think I have ever seen anyone eating in their, but their are orange booths that you could enjoy your meal at while watching the world downtown pass by on the sidewalk. I highly recommend double dragon!
google avatar

Vincent A.

Yelp
This is the go to Chinese takeout restaurant when my friends are traveling to Fort Wayne from out of town. It has a nice central location in downtown Fort Wayne and had been there for many years. Their General Tso's chicken is one of the best in town. My only 2 complaint are that all of their soups are lackluster in taste and flavor and the waitstaff could be a tad more enthusiastic with their jobs.
google avatar

Heather T.

Yelp
I love double dragon, Its the perfect Chinese take out spot. The portions are large, the prices cheap, and the location convenient if you live near downtown Fort Wayne. Some favorites are the sesame chicken, beef lo mein, and hot and sour soup. I recommend calling ahead, but even if you order there the wait is never excessively long. Double Dragon is everything a Chinese takeout place should be, a little quirky.
google avatar

Catherine W.

Yelp
Not bad for a Chinese fast food craving. You can observe the cooks making your meal as you wait - good cooking technique and clean kitchen. Enjoyed the beef lo mein and the hot and sour soup; generously portioned at under $6. The beef lo mein was not overly sauced and had a nicer flavor. Unfortunately, I tried the kung pao chicken recently as well and did not like it - too spicy and also just kind of clumped together in thick sauce - I've had better versions of this dish. There are a few casual tabletops if you want to sit down for the meal - the place was very clean when I stopped by. Parking is tough unfortunately.

Sally Albright _.

Yelp
This is my family's favorite Chinese restaurant. We've been eating here for years. Though it doesn't look like much, and you could easily drive past without another glance, you'd be missing out. The dinner prices are expensive, but the lunch special is a great value! Some family favorites for entrees are the broccoli beef, the kung pao beef, the general tso's chicken, and the orange chicken. (The orange chicken is served a bit spicier than at some other restaurants, but you can customize the spice level to your preference.) The crab rangoon and the spring rolls are wonderful if eaten immediately. The egg roll is worth skipping. The hot and sour soup is adequate, but the egg drop soup is tasty. The crispy noodles are delicious if fresh, but are sometimes stale, though at only 25 cents a bag, are a bargain. For a small upcharge, you can make the fried rice in any meal chicken fried rice, and that's definitely the way to go, as the chicken fried rice is delicious, and lacks those funky bits of egg that are present in the fried rice at some other restaurants. No matter how complicated or long our order is, or how many special requests we have, Double Dragon has never gotten it wrong. The food is always hot, fresh, and delicious. The service is always friendly, even if it is a little slow sometimes because they're a small family operation and at peak times they're cooking on all burners. I do wish they'd update their facility a bit, especially the bathroom and the dining area, but really Double Dragon is a takeout joint that just happens to have a few tables in case people do want to eat in. Also, a fountain pop machine would be a nice upgrade, and possibly a menu board that has pictures of the food they're serving, because the food pictured on the menu does not look like what's being served. (In most cases, the actual food served is better looking!) Parking downtown on the street can be a hassle, but the food is definitely worth it. Double Dragon will always be our favorite for Chinese takeout!

Jaycob M.

Yelp
Ordered my meal at 7:21.. called again at 8:11 to be told my food would be arriving in 3-5 minutes.. had to call again at 8:33 to be told to look outside for driver he is one minute away or outside. Driver calls at 8:45 to say he is there. I live four minutes away according to apple maps... sorry to say will not be placing delivery orders ever again in my life. An hour and 20 minute wait and being told to look outside for the driver in 17 degree weather is outrageous. Sad to say I used to like ordering from Double Dragon.

Yelp
If you are even considering eating at this stink-hole think again. Yes, you are in that food desert known as Fort Wayne Indiana but that is no excuse. Where should I start ... The place is filthy. Floors, tables, visible kitchen behind the counter--are all horrifying. Yes, the ugly truth is that we all have lower standards for Chinese restaurant cleanliness. I could look past that. The food, however, was awful. I had a chicken dish and the pieces of chicken were the size of Red beans I suspect because they were somehow cheap chicken scraps. They certainly tasted that way. Who the other mental defectives are who have reviewed this restaurant positively I could not say, but I can tell you they don't know what the hell they're talking about. Run and do not stop. One star only because it won't let me give none.

R. C.

Yelp
I offered to take my father out for Chinese food (his favorite) in December, and he asked to go to Double Dragon. It was my first visit there. Pros: it's very affordable, and pretty quick (although, if you eat in, you have to watch the orders as each dish gets finished and pick them up, as ready, at the front...so the soups and appetizer and main dishes were all done and ready at different times, which meant a lot of trips to the front with everyone's main dishes done a few minutes apart). Cons: verrrrrrry sketchy dining area, cleanliness-wise. Also, the front door sticks a little and often doesn't close all the way, which means if you're sitting nearby there's likely to be a draft. My Dad's reason for wanting to eat there was the Crab Rangoon, which he called "the best in Fort Wayne." That was definitely a nice app, with several pieces to an order and very crisply fried. Beyond that, the hot and sour soup seemed okay (just very heavy and thick, more like gelatin than a soup) and the main dishes were decent. Might try it again someday, like to treat Dad to another order of their Crab Rangoon.

Marie H.

Yelp
Ok the crab rangoon was good the egg rolls were good., the chicken wings were real good. However..yje Shanghai noodle n the Fried rice was. ...well bland! Asked for chili sauce n Husband used plenty of packs of soy...It wasn't horrible, but I would have to doctor it up at home. .Canned pop..plastic forks. Mostly carry out. Friendly service. Eeh may go back.
google avatar

Michael L.

Yelp
Your average chinese take out place. Prices were good, but my mongolian beef lacked, well, beef. Service was fine and pretty fast. And they had brown rice! Also, cash only, be warned!
google avatar

Tori S.

Yelp
The only place to get Chinese take out in Fort Wayne! So good! The General Tso chicken is super good so is the beef of broccoli! The fries dumplings are a great add on and the egg drop is not to miss!!!

Tina U.

Yelp
Looking for a quick lunch or dinner spot? My husband and I love going here for a quick lunch! We get the soup and Crab Rangoon and it's always delicious and at a very good price point! They have the BEST egg drop soup! Staff is very friendly and although the tiny restaurant may be underestimated it's a must to give them a try because the good is great.

Nancy D.

Yelp
Great lace and food is good!!! Ordered sweet and sour chicken and sis got scallops and fried rice in garlic sauce

A Z.

Yelp
The food was pretty awful. oily and very bland. the chicken was overcooked and tough to chew.
google avatar

Ashley Marie E.

Yelp
Quick, cheap and delicious. Sweet and sour chicken is perfect: rice looks and tastes like it was freshly made, fried chicken is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, sauce is served separately and is melt in your mouth yummy. Egg rolls were also freshly fried, huge and delicious. We got takeout and will be back!
