This place is the best. The first time I stopped there I was hooked. The wings are the best in the area and drinks are great. I had a chance to meet the owner when I was there which was a real treat. It’s not everyday that you get to talk to the owner and have them ask you personally how everything was. Amazing service. Best bar around!!!!

Every time my team comes here after our weekday practices we always have a wonderful time. The bartenders, servers and staff are always so friendly and kind to us. I have huge anxiety and feel bad asking for things and they are always so kind to me. Last night (6/26) the staff was extremely kind and sweet. The place is always well kept, bathrooms clean and atmosphere is positive. I don’t drink often but when I do, my drinks are always made right and the food is fresh. Thank you all for making our after practice gatherings a great time! 💜

Came here after Over Easy Kitchen in Holmdel for the game for the first time and we were pleasantly surprised! The vibes are very nice - rustic farmhouse with 6 TV's. Bar seating, bar table seating and regular seating. The food is absolutely delish! We had the Sweet Chili Shrimp, Garlic Parmesan Wings and their churros- everything was so good!! If you like hot dogs their chili dogs with fries are also amazing!! Even thought it's bar vibes it's kids friendly with their kids menu- my son truly enjoyed his kids cheeseburger sliders. Thank you Michelle for a very nice experience!!

Was having a great time (food was 10/10) until our waiter decided to grope my chest as he stood behind me. His excuse when my coworker walks up to the bar to confront him? “But I’m gay” LMAO. Surreal experience. Tried to smooth things over by giving our table shots on the house and offering me a candy bar in atonement (lol). I was too embarrassed and taken aback to do anything. Edit: I’ve been attempting contact for the last three weeks to provide further info for this ‘internal investigation’ and obtain a follow-up, and I continue to be ignored. As much as you say you are taking this seriously, it really seems to me like you are quietly waiting for this to blow over. I’m really disappointed - I can only hope this doesn’t happen to another one of your customers. Something like this could easily escalate into a lawsuit.

We usually dine at Tommy’s for a burger and wanted to switch it up for date night. After browsing for some time, we stumbled upon Double Dyme and thankfully, it was only 10 minutes from our apartment. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by Martina, who was beyond lovely. Once we went over the menu, we opted for their lemon pepper dry rubbed wings and ordered a side of garlic parmesan sauce. Along with our appetizer, we ordered a Stella + Tito’s with pineapple juice. The wings were perfectly seasoned, freshly fried; and the pairing was beyond delicious. For our main, we both ordered their juicy specialty burgers (one with fried Jalapeno and another a BYO burger) which we both enjoyable. The burgers were perfectly seasoned, filling, and left us speechless in a great way. We’re looking forward into trying their other offerings especially for their other burgers.

Tried out this local Tavern for the first time. Had a great experience. Our bartender (Michael) and owner(Michelle) made our time there enjoyable with some excellent drinks and friendly atmosphere.

We were told about the Taco Tuesday deal at this bar and happened to be near it at about noon. So we stopped in for lunch, but it was obvious that they do more food sales for dinner. Many items weren't prepared for the day yet and the cook came out to speak to us about each item he wound up missing. He seemed defeated by his third visit, but he was so forthcoming with any hiccups in the kitchen. Even though I'm sure it was uncomfortable and defeating, he still was transparent so that he wouldn't blindside us. That being said, the food we had was very good. We started with the hot wings that had very good flavor. They didn't give us celery (or carrots...), but I assumed that he didn't have any. My husband ordered a burger that he was very pleased with. It was very juicy and obviously was NOT just a frozen patty that they threw on the grill. It was missing the main specialty item that the burger (believe it was chili), but he liked it none the less. I had ordered the taco trio special which is normally served with one each one chicken, steak and shrimp. Being allergic to shrimp, they replaced it with steak without a hassle or upcharge. However, they might not have charged due to missing so many items we wanted. I enjoyed them very much. The steak was my favorite and he cooked it to a perfect MR for me. We loved the atmosphere and I loved the women's room neon sign. I will post the picture. I decided that I will wait until we give them another chance before I post any pics. We decided that we should try again very soon, mainly because of the staff working daytime on Tues 8/13. Each of them made us feel welcome and were genuinely nice people. So much so that we didn't even care that our food was missing items. What we did have was very good and we look forward to returning in the evening sometime soon so that we can get the true experience. I'll keep ya posted.

Come here if you're looking for a great happy hour deal! $7 margaritas are a steal (original price is $14). We ordered the chicken quesadilla which was a good portion for 2 people to share. The salsa/ sauce on the side was not that flavorful and it seemed like the cheese blend used in the quesadilla was different (leaned more Italian cheeses vs what you would expect for a quesadilla) but still decent. Also got the Buffalo cauliflower bites and wings. They were able to let us select two sauces which was nice. Would recommend staying away from the lemon pepper dry rub- was way too acidic and salty for my liking. Nice vibe and they have two single stall bathrooms that are pretty spacious. Overall solid spot for some apps and HH drinks- just beware of limited parking.

Double Dyme Tavern in South Amboy is a great place to hangout with friends during the weekends. They offer a wide variety of drinks. The ambiance is great, restrooms are very clean, the service is great and the food is awesome. Their Cajun flavored Chicken wings is a must to try.

Double Dyme Tavern was a nice surprise on a Friday night in South Amboy,NJ. I like to discover new places near me and yesterday I went with my friend to grab a beer there. . The food that was coming out from the kitchen looked good, so we had to try ourselves. . We got an order of dry chicken wings and an empanada; they were both good (picture below) , the wings won though. . The bartender that got our order was friendly and helpful. She welcomed us to the tavern, introduced herself and told us the list of beer they had in the house, and she let us try between two beers before we choose. 100 for the service. . The place is cozy and cool. Young people come and go from there and it gave me the hint of " big family atmosphere " . Definitely well go back again!

Excellent food, drinks and atmosphere. The owner really understands the customer experience and how to stock a bar. The menu is simple, but the food is delicious. I highly recommend checking this place out. The only critique is that it's a small place. So if too many people show up and take advantage of the awesomeness, then we all will need to wait a bit to be served. I can't wait until this concept moves to a larger location. Then we can basques in its true glory.

Came in on a Sunday about 6pm. Hot looking bartender greeted us as we sat at the bar. Bunch of TVs in this small place. about 8 beers on tap. A full menu was given to us on request. Between the cold fresh beer and nice cheesesteak egg rolls......I was happy we topped. Te place will continue to be on my radar when in the area and in need of a beer and a snack.

Menu is amazing food is nothing as described on the menu. So anyone who reviews and says food is amazing hmmmmm makes me wonder their affiliation to the place.

Be grateful to every costumer and respect those who use the jukebox. Also, they allowed a bartender to be over toxiced and she didn't pay attention to those who set near the bar counter.

We started eating/drinking here about 3 years ago. We always loved the wings and the great drinks and bartenders kept us coming back, but they made a change in the kitchen/chef and the food quality slowly faded away and we just stopped going. Today was the day we decided to go back and give the place another try that we used to love so much. Unfortunately, nothing changed. The service was great the bartender was attentive and friendly, the beer was cold and tasty but the food was not good. I ordered a MR cheeseburger about an hour later the food came out and needless to say the burger was well done and the fries were soggy. The meatball sandwich same thing the meatballs were very dry and well done. The chicken wings were bland for buffalo/garlic no taste whatsoever. I was really hoping on my way there we would be pleasantly surprised but that was not the case. Won't be returning probably made me sad.

One and done. Came for burgers on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Bartender pretty unfriendly. Medium burgers were practically raw. Not medium at all. Unflavorable and forgettable aside from being undercooked. Fries were banging. Glad we tried it but most likely won't be back. Edit: was sick all day and night after this meal. Michael is the best bartender... EVER! The burgers are out of this world. It's a good home town bar.

Never seen a frown in this place, great drink selection and the food is bomb. They have a ton of TV's so you'll never miss a game, and the live music is always on point

You have to go on a day/night that Mike is working. he's an amazing bartender/mixologist !! the drinks and food are always great!!

Place is basically home away from home. Staff top notch, food top notch , and of course the drinks reason why you come is Out of this WORLD !!! Been here 4 times already and feel comfortable on top of feeling like I'm just chilling with friends and family at the crib . Everything about this place I love and will be coming here as long as I'm breathing . Come see what I mean for yourselves you won't be disappointed. If you see me here first round is on me just say hello.

First time customer. Always drive by and say = "we should stop". Well we finally did and so glad. Inside is nicely redone - farmhouse vibe. Small but inviting. If you're lucky enough to get Cody bartending - then your drinks will be perfection. We enjoyed some of the best margaritas and cosmos today. We ordered the Chili Shrimp, Buffalo Wings, Gyro and Burger. All were prepared perfectly. The wings were the largest I've seen in a while!! Pride in presentation is also apparent. We will definitely be back. Great little local spot. Wish them the best. Our whole experience was just so positive. Take a chance and stop by.

I was excited to try this place as I live really close. It's a super cute vibe and the people are really friendly. I was completely turned off to being charged $4 extra for having rocks. In all my years I've never been charged extra for ice. Until now. in South Amboy
