Use to love their wings growing up. Whoever cooked these wings saw them come out of the oven and actually thought they looked good enough to serve. So heartbroken.

Been coming here for years there two medium pizza deal is perfect when I’m craving a quick snack the calzone is the go too owners are always nice .. idk how anybody could leave a bad review this place is great

This is the perfect place to buy food for someone you hate. If you’re looking for the horrible service, the worst quality, an awful experience and worst tasting pizza ever, then look no further! Double play took the simplest thing to make and somehow found a way to ruin it. At double play pizza, you can find roaches crawling across your food, hairs cooked into the cheese on your pizza, refusal to fix an incorrect order, food poisoning, the owners gaslighting customers, burnt and undercooked food! Wow! This place has it all! Thanks Double play!

Love this place!! Specials are good and the pizza is delicious!! The sauce doesn't make my 40year old stomach get heartburn in the middle of the night ;P I love supporting this local business.

I have been eating this calzone for years, and continue to drive from my new city, which is a 30 min drive. Try them!

The customer service is horrible. Mainly just the owners wife. She will overcharge you cause she thinks you won't catch it. Expect her to add a dollar to every item you order. She will also charge you 7 dollars as a delivery fee when no other person does that. Other than her I love the place

Food to expensive for 1 large Hawaiian pizza. 27 dollars for a single pizza, it took long to make the pizza, they had nice service though. Poorly made pizza, won't ever come back to pizza hunt. Little ceasers better.

I've been coming here for as long as I can remember, and the pizza, wings, quality, and prices still never cease to amaze me! My go to order is always their 2 large pizza carry out special for my family of 4 (adults). Comes with a free 2 liter soda and I always add an extra topping to both. This is enough food for 2 days for us and is about $25. Thats a STEAL! Their spicy oven baked wings are so tender and good. And if you ever come for lunch, I highly recommend the calzone special!! It's huge and the price is even better. This business is a small place in downtown La Puente for carry out and delivery orders only. I will continue to support this amazing small business for as long as it's here. The owners are always there. They're kind and always provide fast and friendly service! I saw them handing out free cheese sticks to kids on Halloween one year, which I thought was so awesome!! Support your local businesses.

This is definitely a hole in the wall! Came here for lunch and they had a great pizza deal. I got a small pizza for $6 that included a free drink as well. The pizza consists of 6 slices with 1 free topping and each additional topping is $1 extra. For the price and size of the pizza, the small will definitely fill you up. But if not, getting the medium for a few bucks more will def be good for 1 person. I love how they make the pizza right when you order so you get it hot with fresh ingredients and long cheese pulls! You can't beat the price, I will def be back for a hot sub!

Double Play Pizza is a great spot if you're looking for good, affordable food. Their lunch specials are hard to beat, especially the calzones. The portions are huge--perfect for having lunch and saving the other half for dinner. They're always quick and Speedy but do recommend that you pick up as no real dining area inside as it's very small with only about one table. So definitely a to-go place. One of the best deals is the two-topping calzone for just $5.99. You really can't find a better price for the quality and quantity anywhere else right now. If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping by.

Had to feed a crowd last minute and didn't want to serve "fast food" pizza. They did not disappoint! Great quality at a good price. They still got five stars even though the website was too cumbersome to figure out. Called in and got great service. Food was great service was great!

So good. Their Pizzas are made to order. Always fresh and yummy. They open at 1030 during the week which is awesome since not many places open that early for lunch. They've been around for over a decade and I visit them whenever I'm craving pizza. This is definitely a hidden gem around the area. $5.50 for a small pizza with one topping and a can of Coke. Highly recommend!

We brought chicken wings and they were burnt and the owner didn't wanna make me new ones or give me a refund I hope they get the place taken down

I've been told by several people this is "The Best" Pizza in La Puente so I had to give them a try, it's a small place looks to be carry out or Delivery Only, they offer many different Specials, I got 2 Large 2 topping pizzas and a 2-liter soda for under $20. First impression the Large pizza's look more like Medium, they don't skimp on the toppings, pizza's look very good, my only real issue was crust, the dough felt more bread like, that part bothered me but to some it might not be a big deal. If you ask me Double Play is similar to your Fast Food chain Pizza places and NOT your good restaurant pizza, 5-Star Value, if not for the bread like crust probably a 4-Star Pizza, but for me it's just OK. 3-Stars OH, and far from the best Pizza in La Puente! Cheep pizza and friendly staff. Pizza made fresh so you should call ahead for pick up if you want to avoid a 15-ish minute wait.

Time arrived : 12:30pm on a Friday for lunch Crowd: none Service: great! The person who took my order was super friendly and was patient as I was trying to decide as it was my first time here. Everyone I saw there was wearing masks Parking: plenty of parking as this is within a neighborhood and across a school and close to a town hall so not a lot of traffic Food order : small pizza with two toppings, bread sticks lunch special Overall the pizza was pretty good. Toppings were a good spread and amount. Bread sticks were a little harder than I expected. It might have been the pizza crust dough used and cut into pieces ? The crust on the pizza wasn't my favorite but this only because I'm used to a different kind of crust on my pizza. Idk . it was kind of flat and not as risen and crispy as I was used to. But take this with a grain of salt as I haven't had a small business pizza in quite some time and I was born and raised in NYC. The prices for lunch specials were alright. It was $13~ for small pizza (6 slices/10" diameter?) and bread sticks. Got two meals out of it. Will go back again. Hope this helps :)

AMAZING... Everything we have ordered has been GREAT. You know it's good when you order and everyone asks where is this from. The food is just amazing. Pizza...the sauce is great, the crust is tasty, the cheese is cheesy. Wings, meaty and tasty. The prices...very good, especially because it's two for one. The packaging...done well. It's good, yes it's good...order it, don't hesitate.

Every time I've been here within the past 5 years, I've had a bad experience. Today I took one bite and had to pull a hair from my mouth that was stuck in the cheese. This does it for me. This place is disgusting. Do not waste your time or money here. You're better off going to little Caesar's.

I went here with a group of people for lunch. I got the pepperoni onion calzone lunch special. A lot of the people in the group had the 1 small pizza with a beverage and one person had chicken fingers. The food was pretty good. I think that the calzone needed more crunchy texture.

This is a family owned pizza shop. We have been ordering from Double Play since I was in high school (early 2000's). Always great service, fresh ingredients and the kindest staff!

The Double play calzones are just next level. The only pizza spot that I will go to for now on! Highly highly recommend!

4 out of 5 because : Good: The calzone is not just very affordable but it's delicious and very filling! It's my favorite in town. The pizza is also a hit! Bad: The chicken wings have a bad flavor to them they aren't the best quality and quite rubbery. The sausage ingredient used for pizzas & calzones is not the best either I do not recommend it to my worst enemy. So beware of the wings & avoid Sausage on your pizza's

First time order, very pleasant experience. Friendly, personable owner, really seem to care about the quality of food. Delivery guy is very nice and personable too, gives the vibe of your friendly courteous neighbors. Owner says they don't do Yelp or UbberEats delivery because the drivers don't get paid much, and he wants to treat his employees well. Final bill via credit card is $20.20+tips for 2 medium pizzas with 2 toppings and one 2 liter soda. Free delivery. Pretty good deal. $0.50 transaction fee for using a credit card to pay. Dough is soft like bread, unlike the hard, oily crust from typical chain pizza places. Definitely taste the quality difference. 10 year old boy ate 4 slices, including the edges! He says it's way better than Pizza Hut. Love the pepperoni and sausage toppings. 8 year old small skinny girl ate 3 slices. She says she doesn't like the taste of the pepperoni. But she does like the dough. Main dissatisfaction is she wanted corn, but it was not a topping option. "Comfortable" taste is what conjured in my mind with each bite. 100% real cheese, original dough, natural tasting pepperoni. I'd definitely order again from here rather than from a chain delivery pizza company. I'm a thin-crust kind of person. If they serve thin-crust, I'll definitely bump it up a star.

I like how fast the service is and I enjoy getting 2 pizzas every time! Delivery is a must .

Been coming here for 12 years and it's always so good. I don't like that once it isn't as hot the cheese kind of hardens, but over all the flavor of the pizza and wings so good.

Hole in the wall but super good pizza joint super close to my bfs house. Worth the try! Good prices, tasty, and fast service.

I am a big fan of this place. It's been here for as long as I can remember and quality hasn't changed in my eyes. My absolute favorite item is their calzones. Now I haven't had one for quite some time until today. I was on my way home from work so as usual for pick up orders I called about 20 minutes ahead. The nice lady on the phone took my order, gave me the price, and estimated 15 minutes. I arrived a little more than 20 minutes later and of course my order was ready. A cheese and pepperoni calzone along with the small Chef's salad. Both items came out to a little over $10. Not a bad price in my book. Parking was easily accessible. I was concerned about parking due to the weekly farmers market that is along the main street on Friday's, but to my surpise it didn't affect the lot. Before writing my review, I noticed quite a few Yelpers having issues with Double Play not delivering to their area. It is unfortunate however if we're able to go out and grab a burger or chinese, I don't see the problem with picking up pizza? Just accept their routes have possibly changed and move on. Overall I think it's a great local place to La Puente. It's been there for years and hasn't changed nor closed. So I think it's a safe bet for you to give them a try.

Best damn pizza place in La Puente and if you think otherwise, re-evaluate. It's a staple of La Puente and should be a landmark if it isn't already! I love stopping by here and supporting my favorite pizza store when I'm back in my hometown. This place has been a constant in my childhood and the pizza tastes the same all these years later. 10/10 eat it fresh & get the wings!

Ever since I was very young my parents would buy us this pizza. The pizzas there are very cheesy and tasty! My daughters and I love this place better than other "high quality" pizza! Prices are reasonable too! Also about the owner, very friendly guy, always happy and with a great attitude.

Just ordered today for the very first time and am incredibly impressed by the quality of their food. The pizzas are all made to order and will adjust any toppings/amount of cheese to your liking. We ordered a calzone, as well, and they make those custom order with the perfect amount of filling! So so good and fresh. All the toppings were also good quality and fresh. The prices are AMAZING and the staff are extremely nice. Really enjoy this hidden gem. Will be returning!!

Basically there should be no other pizza y'all eat here in LP. This is best cozy little spot to exist. Shout out to Albert who delivered my food! he was so professional and came in a timely manner. You cannot get any better service than that! I got a pepperoni split Canadian bacon with some spicy wings and it is just to die for! Having my left overs today! Yum!

Pizza and wings had no flavor. Don't waste your time ordering from here. Very light BBQ sauce on the wings. Pizza was way under cooked.

Double play pizza... at first I was a little iffy about the pizza. Just because of the Presentation but wasn't quick to judge but once I tried it. This pizza is perfect! Cheesy, toppings and the dough was all perfect. I highly recommend this place. Not to pricey either.

Thought we would try this spot since it was down the street from our house. I called to ask about specials and we decided on a 2 pizza special. The guy who took our order told me when you order 2 topping pizzas they don't short change one topping for the other. We ordered extra cheese on both pizzas and no way they had extra cheese. As far as the extra toppings 3 bites in and no toppings but all cheese and crust. After reading the reviews I was disappointed at the quality of the pizzas. I should've taken them back but it was already late.

Double Play serves up a very good calzone! They also offer a great lunch special from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm. You can either get a two-topping calzone or 7 inch sub and soda for $3.99 + tax. Make sure to check out their carry out pizza specials. I was just here for lunch and opted for the calzone lunch special. I went with pepperoni and mushroom. No joke, my calzone was done in 10 minutes. I love the that they top the calzones with parmesan cheese. I think this simple touch gives their calzones some character. My calzone was done to perfection. The pepperoni was tasty and the mozzarella was cheesy. They do not cheat you on the toppings and do a good job on stuffing the calzones evenly. I like how clean this place is. You can tell this place takes tremendous pride in their pizza. Tip: They only offers pepsi products, so if you need your cherry coke fix, get it somewhere else. I will definitely be coming back and trying my calzone with other toppings.

This place is not gourmet, or claims to be something they are not. And I'm perfectly alright with that. They're menu is small and that is also alright with me. This place has great "American Style" pizza. The pies are a definite step above the big pizza chains of today and tastes more of like the pizza I had from small family-owned pizzerias when I was a kid. The wings are pretty good as well. I need to tell you something though; the big winners on the menu are the calzones and the meatball sandwich.

After delivering to me fairly consistently and taking my money and tips without question, suddenly they decide they don't deliver to my apartment. However they did say they deliver to the place across the street. Very disappointed as I wasn't even given a reason for the decision. The drivers know me, yet the manager decided not to look into it further. Thanks for the good times, time to spend my money elsewhere.
