Positive: Shout out to hotel employee who helped with a parking issue! Staff was lovely, the hotel was quiet, clean and comfortable - I will definitely stay at another one of your hotels in the future. Thanks for making my high school reunion even better! Negative: nonw

We stayed at the hotel for three nights and I slept very, very well. I really loved the large window front with the view. The room was also very spacious compared to other hotels. The hotel staff were mostly friendly, and the room was clean. I would gladly come back.

This is not a 4 star hotel in any manner. The odd thing is the staff is absolutely amazing but the quality of the rooms is extremely poor. Pros: The staff are so nice, every interaction was just lovely. The lobby and restaurants were great. There’s a food court that was good and the walk ability to surrounding buildings is convenient. There was never any wait for the elevator. Cons: The condition of the room was terrible. Overall dirty, the tub didn’t drain. A lot of wear and tear. The hall way light bulb even went out in my room. The maid never restocked my coffee. The hallway smelled of smoke. There was no vending or working ice machine on my floor. The front desk did ask why I didn’t switch rooms however I had a coworker who reported the same condition of their room so I didn’t think that would help. Overall my review is reflective of the poor condition of the room.

If there were half stars, I would rate this hotel at a 2.5. The valet, Tyler, who met us at the entry was professional and gave a great first impression. The lobby is very nice looking, with a Starbucks and a restaurant/bar that we did not patronize. The front desk was staffed by Cecilia, who was personable and kind enough to upgrade us to a high floor corner room. However, the room did not seem to be much of an upgrade. While the bed was fairly comfortable and the space was fine, the room was not what we expected. The carpet is in need of replacement, as there was a large stain near the window. The furniture is ready for updating, and a paint job is needed for all the scuff marks on baseboards, door bottoms, etc. The bathroom is a mess. I will say that it is nice to have a large counter area with two sinks, but the lighting is horrendous...so dim that it is almost impossible to put on makeup. The toilet/tub area is separate, but so small as to be claustrophobic. Everything in the bathroom is outdated and in desperate need of renovation. In addition, the windows are not very soundproofed, as the traffic noise was very noticeable, even from the 16th floor. |As to the valet service, when we returned from our event and pulled up, the one attendant was filling out paperwork for an arriving customer, so we waited. He went and got her a luggage cart, but did nothing to assist her in unloading several suitcases and other items from her car. Then he busied himself with something at the stand, even though he plainly saw us waiting. Another customer came from the lobby and was quickly addressed and taken care of. Finally, we had to get out of the car and tell the young man that we were returning for the evening and already had a valet ticket, to which he responded, "Just leave the car." Not the service we expect for $40 per night. The young lady who retrieved our vehicle the next morning on checkout was prompt, efficient, and friendly. Apparently, the training in this area is inconsistent at best. |This hotel does not meet with the standards we have come to expect from a Doubletree. For the price paid, the experience was sorely lacking, which is a shame considering the location. A remodel of the lobby is advertised, but the rooms need much more attention.

I recently stayed at the DoubleTree Hotel in Houston and had such a wonderful experience, thanks in large part to the amazing supervisor, Khytyearra. Her warm personality, professionalism, and genuine care for guests truly stood out. It’s rare to meet someone who makes you feel so welcome and valued, and Khytyearra did exactly that. She made my visit truly memorable, and I’m grateful for the outstanding service she provided. Ignore the construction signs as they've been up for more than a year. This pro.ise of things to come is like a store named going out of business. The rooms are nice, but in need of upgrades. The tvs sole.purpose is to have you purchase a move. The entire system needs an upgrade. Channels not available, difficult navigating thru the menu. No Netflix options. Like most shared.parking lots in Houston, they are focused on parking for profit and offering substandard, undermanned, overpriced valet. Calling for your car takes too long and the open level.parking is crowded and difficult to navigate. It's not clear enough to navigate getting checked in. For a hotel this size, the bar closes at 10p. I'd advise ubering out for the Monday night football games.

Google
DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Houston - Greenway Plaza absolutely deserves the recognition. This hotel is a standout—not just because of the property, but because of the extraordinary people who run it. Their professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail consistently exceeded every expectation. In an industry where true hospitality can sometimes feel like a lost art, the team here proves it’s still alive and well. I want to especially recognize Ilecia, whose leadership and level of service genuinely renewed my faith in the hospitality industry. She is the definition of a true professional—responsive, solution-focused, kind, and always two steps ahead. Her pride in her work shines through in every interaction, and it elevates the entire guest experience. The property is great - but the people are what make it exceptional! Five stars without hesitation. Thank you!

I’ve stayed at this hotel on multiple occasions. Each time my main issue/concern was housekeeping. They cut corners A LOT. One of my stays I booked a double bed room. Both sets of sheets and comforters had visible stains. The shower had hair on the walls. I reported this to the receptionist at check out and received a partial refund via points. Hoping that it was just a bad day, I used those same points to book my most recent stay. The bed did not have any stains, but there were still strands of hair in the shower. I didn’t say anything at all this time about the shower. However in my rush to check out on time I left some clothing items in the bathroom. I called them as soon as I realized which was about an hour after check out. The person who answered the phone notified me that protocol was to place items left in the room in a bag and then send them to the lost and found. I was told that I would be contacted once they located my items. When speaking to the hotel reception again I was told that housekeeping management said that nothing had been turned in. I did not accept that simple answer. I wanted to know if it was thrown away, if it maybe had been wrapped up in the towels or was it still in the room. No definite answer could be given and I was told they would let me know if anything “pops up” If going off of the pattern of behavior with housekeeping at this hotel, I’m more than sure they were lazy and just tossed my clothes in the trash. SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE!!

Yelp
While the front desk was very friendly, I was disappointed by the shape of the room. The bathroom had severe water damage on the walls and crinkled wallpaper as well as other issues with the room. The bed was fairly comfortable. The walls are thin and my neighbor was up until 4 am being rather noisy and inconsiderate. I also wasn't aware parking was an additional fee PER DAY so be aware

Yelp
And entrance to lobby and Parking a bit complicated. Still a wonderful stay. The staff members were friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and had a great view of the city.

Jip Z.

Yelp
Good and bad but still I came here again. The beds are amazingly comfortable. The place is clean there's no bugs. The rooms are huge. The bathroom is huge. They give you shampoo and conditioner and lotion they give you a cookie when you come in and a bottle of water. Everything is beautiful. There's a Starbucks and a bar what more could you ask for? My only complaints are that there's no elevator from the self parking and they charge $30 to self park. Then when you get room service they charge you 20% gratuities and then the person delivering it wants another tip! Like leave the food at the door and allow your guests to tip what they want!!! It's a tip! You guys failed with that. Then it rained so the tv never worked. So with that alone the price should not be so high. All in all, the comforts of the room make this place a favorite for me.
google avatar

Chad F.

Yelp
The AC unit rattled so loud it sounded like a freight train was rolling through our room. When reported, the maintenance guys just shrugged and said 'nothing we can do'. Later the ceiling in the bathroom started leaking, not just an occasional drip, like LEAKING. SUPER GROSS. The rooms are old and dingy. Dusty gross vents. Broken bathroom fan. Missing light fixtures. The list is long. Plus one star because the staff was wonderful. Friendly happy folks who were quick with a smile and a cookie. Bottom line, if you need a quick, cheap single night stay, this place is fair. For a multi day stay, I'll go elsewhere next time.

Yelp
Kleenex box only had one Kleenex The lobby is the only nice part of the building Shower didn't drain Shower temperature was only searing hot or cold People smoking marajuana at pool Suspicious hole in shower wall Customer service was rude I had a front desk lady call me at 4am in the morning, since I had valet, asking me to bring my car keys down., that I took them with me and they need to move my car. They were fighting with me that I just now at 5/25 @ 4 AM dropped off my car to valet and this was my car. Eventually I proved it wasn't my car based on the reservation number given. They then said "oh, this isn't your car", hung up, and never apologized for waking me and my family up. I have issues falling back to sleep after woken up, let alone fought with in a lengthy debate. Needless to say, no sleep. I will never recommend this hotel. It is managed poorly. It has gone in the shitter.

Yelp
They put me on a floor with no working heat never offered to change my room or even additional blankets! When speaking with hotel staff they have several Floors without working heat and are still Booking guests? Horrible a they Charged 40 for valet parking ! On Premise should be free', we opted for valet as the self parking was unsafe an we got trapped on a floor in the garage an the arm wouldn't let us out . We paid the valet fee of course after being in a dark garage for over 30 min at night! Lastly no cookies! Highly unimpressed with this location

Yelp
It's an older hotel. Some of the furniture and rooms seem to be dated. Definitely in need of a refurbishing. The service is amazing and the value was great. The breakfast spot does need to be updated. Also we had trouble with our key cards working. The service could be better since it's a Hilton.

Yelp
DoubleTree Houston Greenway Plaza was an enjoyable stay for me. I slept well and had a nice view from my room. You do have to pay I believe $25 for parking. The buffet breakfast was nice. I didn't use any of the amenities. I'd stay here again.

CJ R.

Yelp
There is something wrong when you can stay here for under $90 a night, but have to pay $30 to self-park (or $40 for valet). It shouldnt cost a third to half the price of the room to park. Ridiculous

Ileana Y.

Yelp
Absolute Nightmare! DO NOT STAY HERE. BEWARE of this hotel. My fiancé and I had a nightmare of a stay. Not even two hours into our one night stay, we turned on the TV and noticed that the screen was partially broken, so my fiancé went downstairs to report the issue and see if we could switch rooms. After moving rooms, we were called by a receptionist who accused us of the damage and told us that they would be charging us $900 DOLLARS for TV damage that we did NOT do!! We were in total shock as we were just trying to relax and enjoy our stay. When we asked to speak with a manager, we were told there were none on site, and we are still dealing with this horrible situation days after our stay. STAY FAR AWAY from this hotel unless you want to be scammed and forced to pay for damages their staff failed to see before checking in. I have never had a worse experience in my life and would NEVER recommend that a person stay here.
google avatar

Ashley W.

Yelp
We stayed in the Presidential Suite for $700 a night and the accommodations were horrible. The drapes were torn and hanging off the hooks, water damage and mold in the room, lights didn't work among other things. I hated the experience, this ruined my outlook on the DoubleTree.
google avatar

Steph B.

Yelp
This is not your parents DoubleTree! I stayed here for a conference on Hydrogen Energy and truly enjoyed the conference and catering. The staff was super excellent too. But we stay at a hotel for a bed and that's where this hotel doesn't cut the mustard. My room heat didn't work and the bed didn't have a decent blanket so I was up all nigh shivering. I kept trying to crank the heat and it would tease me by running for a few mins then turn off. Finally I got out of bed and tried a hot shower with hope of warming myself and maybe the room but guess what? Yup, there was no hot water. This is why I shifted to Marriott

Clarence L.

Yelp
Never coming back here. There's only one elevator that leads to my parking spot so I'm constantly having to use a certain one. Booking.com said they had free breakfast but they're charging basically 20 for it and the meals are dog water. And the PARKING FEES? I already paid 300+ for my 2 nights now I'm paying 60 for parking? And for what?! The view?? The room doesn't even have a microwave! You'd be better going to the other Hilton down the road. The parking garage also is insufferable. Booking.com also doesn't tell you about the high deposit. But hey you get a good cookie on your first day. Did I also mention my card doesn't work when trying to leave? place is just too much for me better off getting a Airbnb

Yelp
I stayed here Saturday November 18,2024 Front desk very welcoming when you get to the rooms very old and outdated I always over extend to clean the rooms and strip the linens before checking out To discover mattress covers are stain and disgusting I'm very upset and won't stay here again!!

Yelp
I am not exaggerating the one star. This hotel needs to be gutted. We checked in and was given keys to a dirty room. The carpet in the rooms smells like mold . The second suite TV did not work. Paid for the hotel stay and now they are contacting us to charge us again. When the bank statement says it was paid. So now I have to get to someone in billing . They never answer the phone. The young manager at the front desk doesn't know how to fix any issues . Parking is terrible . They share a lot with the mega church so keep that in mind when leaving out on Sundays. Guest service is non existing. They did not honor the daily credit and we were still charged. I will never book this hotel again. I do not recommend! If you want a nice clean smelling room . Stay somewhere else .

Ted T.

Yelp
guess I should have read these before I booked. they dont bother to mention is costs $30 to self park. the halls smell like a smoke shop gone bad. trying to find the lobby from the self parking is like an Indiana Jones adventure. a/c in room sucked. mini fridge didnt work. you have to register for their advertisements through hilton rewards or the wifi isnt free. i could keep going but its my fault because I assumed all double tree hotels were equal. they are not apparently.

Chase J.

Yelp
Benjamin was a standout from the first encounter last year. Very courteous and attentive to all the patrons in the bar/restaurant/lounge area. However, what makes him special and makes the DoubleTree feel so welcoming is that even though I hadn't been there in 9 months, he remembered me and the small injury my son had last football season. He was still the courteous attentive bartender as before. Don't lose this guy management, he goes above and beyond! Brandi (Rice Owl parent)

Peter N.

Yelp
Unprofessional Dump. These guys fail at everything that is MINIMALLY required for a normal business traveler. From wrong listed times on opening and closing of facilities, opening late on "scheduled" time, failing wake up call, failing internet (Funny thing, the internet server says "Hilton Honors", it should be Hilton Dishonors), leaky bathrooms, uncontrollable ACs, etc etc. Pay attention to honest unpaid reviews and if possible, AVOID this place.
google avatar

Jay C.

Yelp
This hotel is a must to stay at, very reasonable prices abs amenities are top notch. If your looking for somewhere to stay for a couple days this is the place. It's located in the mist of restaurants and not to far from the airport. Pool, Starbucks, gym, restaurant just to name a few. Valet service will be included with your stay at an extra fee or you have the option to self park in the parking garage for a lesser fee. The rooms are clean and spacious and the service are welcoming.
google avatar

Tom S.

Yelp
When I made a reservation I specified that the room be away from elevators. The room I was given shared a wall with the elevator shaft. I got little sleep because of the constant noise. I filled out a subsequent survey detailing my problem with the room. They said that the hotel was full and they don't guarantee room requests. In fact, the hotel was almost empty that night.
google avatar

Candace Y.

Yelp
Don't know where to start.... decent size room but that bathroom smells horrible! Room is old and dingy. The biggest problem is the parking, the parking garage is terribly designed and so low. Not handicap accessible. From the garage you have to enter a hall and take an escalator up to another hall... then another escalator to find the lobby. With knee and back problems this is terrible . Hope you pack light because it's a hike to get to the lobby. No signs to tell you where to go. Staff is okay, not friendly not rude. Will not stay here again.

Celena L.

Yelp
Front desk girl was super friendly and welcoming. The hotel overall is fairly dirty and run down for a doubletree. The lighting in the bathroom (room 1022) is very dim. Couldn't get the shower to work fully (partly came out of shower head but partly still out of tub faucet). The property is in need of updating from outdoor spaces to the rooms. There was peeling paint in our room and the comforter was very dirty between the sheets that covered it. Beds are very soft (no firmness). Comforter is very thin. For the end of May, very little greenery outside. Lots of dead trees poolside. Grounds haven't been kept up very well. Parking is expensive ($26 a night). The best part of the stay was a warm cookie and the front desk girl. However, when I called the front desk from the room, I could not get an answer and they were not busy with checkins at the time I called. I saw many people going to Lakewood Church on Sunday, it's accessible from the hotel. This hotel has potential, just needs some attention.

Candace W.

Yelp
Came here on a business trip and I will never book this hotel again!! No hot water! Front desk employees are extremely rude, they could care less if you're a Hilton Honors Member at any level! Their ice machines don't work on your floor level, they have a sign that says vending machines but no machines are even there. The rooms are outdated and the list goes on and on! Oh yeah the food is gross and valet is terribly expensive!! Book else where!!!

Falonda R.

Yelp
We stayed at this hotel July 26th - July 31st 2023. The hotel did not have a microwave in the room, the water went out in the entire building for an entire day. Parking prices are ridiculous. I believe it was about $32 per night. We didn't find this out until we arrived never again. Our room was on the 19th floor. I had to put on clothes just to go down to warm food because they had no microwaves. They told us they could bring a microwave to the room. But when I called back the next day to ask for the microwave to be brought to the room, they said we're not sure why someone would tell you that, we don't do that. For the price we paid per night, this hotel should have been equipped with everything in the room. I should not have had to leave the room. Also, we should have been reimbursed for one night that we did not have water. But they said they can't do anything.
google avatar

Nathalia A.

Yelp
As it has been said before, the beauty of the lobby doesn't reflect on the rooms at all! I was met by Craig at the front desk when I arrived. He was the most unfriendly person in the property. At first he couldn't find my reservation and just kept asking me "are you sure you are in the right place?" And when I tried to answer he would ask me again! This was so rude and he made me feel like a lost child. After I showed him my confirmation, he found me but said that my check in day was the following day, 30 seconds later, he said I had a room.. apparently, he was the one that wasn't on the right place hahaha. He didn't share any info with me about the hotel and the facilities, I had to go back and was given a paper with all the info by a much nicer staff member. The room was OLD, the AC sounded like a train and the thermostat was definitely not calibrated correctly. There was also a smell of sewer in the hallway that lasted for a couple of days. I tried to call the front desk and let them know about the issues but was put on hold for 25 minutes, after that, I didn't even try, they say they have a shuttle that takes you around but a couple of people in my group tried it and they were never picked up on their way back to the hotel. They don't offer room service, although it is advertised all over their website. Their gym is ok but there's only one bench and you are lucky if you get to use it. I was forced to stay here by my office, but I don't recommend this hotel to anyone that's not staying there for business in the area.
google avatar

Kelley P.

Yelp
I would not stay at this hotel again. PROS: safe area, clean rooms. CONS: unfriendly staff, no room service even though their official website says they have it, no hot tub, no breakfast, you have to pay to park.

Jimmy G.

Yelp
Great location, but the hotel is in need of a major renovation. If you park in self parking. That leaves you to walk into the hotel conference center the sign states to take the escalator. Then their are no other signs to take you to the lobby. If the present owners could make some small improvements, this could carry the hotel for a few more years, before a major renovation. Priceline has it listed as a 4 star hotel, it really is only a 3 star. My room fridge had someone's left over food in it.

Gale G.

Yelp
These rooms need to be redone asap. It smells so bad. The furniture is very dated and falling apart, curtens let in alot of light when closed, carpet is stained, garage is a very strange arrangement and expensive for having to have no cut curb to roll luggage into where you use an escalator to get to the lobby find the correct elevator. The only thing going for this place is location and the ability to use my phone as the key for parking and room key. I will not be returning.

Marlena A.

Yelp
I was under the impression we had a hot tub and also that the self parking was free, it claimed 28 dollars in the garage. Also there is no free water in the lobby, we asked multiple people for water. We're not here for spring break but we are here for my husband's birthday. Hopefully the prices didn't skyrocket just for spring break, he was looking forward to a hot tub, when we did walk the pool one individual working here said the heated pool wasn't working.

Roger M.

Yelp
This is, by a considerable margin, the worst hotel I have every stayed at in America. It is so rundown - everywhere, from the elevators to the common areas to the rooms. The cold water tap in my bathroom sink is broken and only allows a trickle of water. The shower control seems to be broken for temperature and only produces scalding hot water. The digital clock on the bedside table was off by 3 hours. The room and corridor reel of cigarette smoke, there are stains and paint chips and worn items everywhere. When the door closes a loose ceiling panel bounces up and clatters back into place ... this hotel is just sad. Unless you get a really good deal, I would not be expecting much here.
google avatar

Jas M.

Yelp
I love Hilton. Hands down, it's my favorite brand. This hotel was not the best. Parking is confusing. It shares it with Lakewood Church as well as a few other buildings. My room was not the cleanest. Under the sink there were all kinds of trash left from previous guests. The room reeked of smoke in the midnight hours. Breakfast, however was quite delicious. But for $20 for the buffet, it should've been. Tip: Always ask if parking can be waived. Overnight parking is $25.
google avatar

Yelp
What a disappointment!!! My home is under construction from the freeze in Houston so I came here to have a small get away, and what do I get? NO RUNNING WATER and an attitude for reporting it? Y'all staff is so horrible except the maintenance man that was sent he had better customer service than the people at the front desk. He tried to fix it but this is just a mess, no hospitality what so ever. The Hilton Brand should be ashamed of y'all! I would do 0 stars if it was available
google avatar

Yelp
Hotel trash can't upload the video of my water not working in room 1905 but here's a photo of dirty vents

Yelp
I could make this review short by stating the following: if you're here for work it's perfect but don't book it if you're just here on vacation. The Double Tree is located in Greenway Plaza which essentially is a community of offices. There are a few restaurants near but nothing exciting or attention grabbing. Pros -free wifi if you're a Hilton Honors member -friendly staff -Starbucks in lobby -comfortable beds -quiet -beautiful fitness center -free cookie Cons: -expensive -room service food is terrible - bad shower pressure - nothing to do outside of the hotel (location) I would definitely give the Double Tree a higher rating if it were in another part of town. Don't get the room service as it's pretty expense and not tasty at all. Food is mostly cold too. It definitely wasn't bad, but I'm sure glad I didn't pay the bill.

Yelp
I've stayed here probably 20 times. But that was before COVID. This is my first time since COVID, and they are using COVID as the excuse for horrible service. Nice front desk people mixed with surly people. No housekeeping unless you ask for it, and EVEN IF YOU DO ASK, don't expect that you get it. IN EVERY BATH, the air conditioner has a drain that is NOT CONNECTED TO PLUMBING. Instead, the drain is precisely located six feet above one of the bathroom sinks, and drip, drip, drip, it mixes with your use of the sink. Really?! What a dump!

Yelp
I have stayed here at this hotel 2 times now due to the convenience that it is next door to one of my company locations in Houston Greenway. The hotel reminds me of a picture in the past from the 1950's. The decor is outdated and needs to be refreshed. The customer service at the front desk is sub par at best. Once I checked into my room I found myself seeing no difference in the decor. I booked it for a week for work and regret I did. 2 days I didn't have hot water and one of the days I couldn't get into my room since room key reader wouldn't work. Luckily maintenance was there and he said he had to replace the battery but it would take time. The location is probably the best thing about this hotel and there is a Starbucks onsite. The pool is okay, but there is no heated jacuzzi or sauna inside the gym. I heard they are planning on doing renovations and hopefully it gets done sooner than later!

Dan C.

Yelp
Major issues checking in with less than helpful staff. I booked hotel online for my family they took my credit card info . Family went to check in and they needed the card, despite talking to me over the phone they refused to take payment over the phone had to drive my self over and pay in person what's the Point of having a card on file if your not gonna use it. Poor system poor staff poor service will be avoiding in the future.

Yelp
Good staff, easy parking, easy access to rooms. I was in one of the suites on the first floor for the weekend, and everything went smoothly. Housekeeping came in sometime the second day and made up the bed. Also took the towels we used from the night before and replaced them with clean ones. Little kitchen area was perfect - had all the dishes and utensils we needed. Remote control fan made a huge difference in how comfortable we were, but the A/C worked just as fine. Only downside was that we couldn't figure out how to close the main curtains, so the seating area was easily visible to the outside.

Yelp
Nothing on the website/app was noted that this hotel forced you to do valet (it's $38/night for Valet and self parking is $28/night) instead of self parking if your vehicle is over 6 feet tall. Sorry after having my last truck stolen at a Double Tree hotel I'm hesitant to hand my keys over. Second my shower has very little hot water and no heat in the room itself. (This seemed to be a hotel wide issue). Oh and curtains and lamp shades has what looked like blood stains on them. We did get moved to different rooms where we had heat and hot water however the key card reader seemed to be malfunctioning. It would read the key card then we'd go out and come back and it stopped working again. Hopefully the hotel does right and offers some sort of partial refund. Especially after reading these reviews to find out these issues were reported a YEAR ago!!! Also we noticed one of the elevator notification lights on the ground floor didn't work as well the floor 7 button on the right side in an elevator didn't work either. This hotel needs to do some serious maintenance work. Oh then a valet brought me the WRONG vehicle on checkout day.

Yelp
The worst Hilton hotel I've ever stayed at. Don't be fooled by the pictures and the pretty look of the lobby. It is located in Greenway Plaza and off highway 59 which is a nice location. All the bad things start from here: Several buildings around here share the same self-parking parking garage, so it's confusing as soon as you make the turn on the bridge. There're two ways to go with a lot of words to read in order to try to figure out which one is the right one for my simple destination - the hotel lobby. After driving around and getting lost trying to find an entrance to the hotel guest/visitor garage, I finally found it. The entry is narrow and it's multiple entry spiral. As I got to the ground of the garage, another confusion began. The garage is a maze with big white arrows pointing all over the place on the ground and so many big pillars taking up space between parking spots. When we approached the sliding doors to get inside, one of the automatic sliding doors did not work. As we entered the lobby, everything looks nice and bright. Front desk was very nice and made the check-in experience pleasant. The room was not clean. There was of dust covering the night stand and toilet seat. Toilet paper was not prepared probably. We were given 2 room keys and one of them didn't work. The bed and pillows were comfortable. However, with the layers of dust on dark furniture that we saw, we were very uncomfortable to lay down. I'm sure the whole bed and pillows were covered in dust as well. Charging us at more than $200 per night for this experience is a huge rip-off. It was such a bad experience that I will never come back to this hotel again.

Yelp
Before I start with the review, I want to explain why it is a 4 star instead of a 5 star. For a hotel that is near the medical district of Houston, they are not very accommodating to people who are traveling to Houston for medical emergencies. I had to go to Houston for a medical emergency and since medical bills are so high, I was only able to go alone because we could not afford for my parents to go. We tried calling 2 weeks before our stay to see if we could fill out a credit card authorization form so I could use my parents credit card to pay for our stay. Since I have cancer and I can't work, I depend on my parents. Michael (who I believe is the manger) was not willing to help at all or even tried to find a resolution. He shut us down and was not willing to help. I chose to stay here still because there was a shuttle that would take me to the office I needed to be at because it was still within a 3 mile radius. Beside Michael being extremely rude and not willing to help, the rest of the experience was good. The front desk agents were sweet hearts and the hotel was extremely clean. The breakfast buffet that they have every morning (which cost or if you're a Hilton member, it is free) was very good and had a good variety. A cool thing that this hotel also had is in the basement area, there is a food court that is opened during lunch time and it has a great variety of food! The 4 stars is for the front desk agents who were sweet hearts but if it was just a rating based on how Michael treated us, it would be a 1 star.

Yelp
I highly recommend this hotel if you have business in this section of Houston. It is so conveniently located to multiple office buildings. In addition, it has a really nice lobby, two good restaurants, a nice bar and pool. I didn't have time to check out the athletic facilities, but I'd be surprised if they didn't have them. My room was amazing. It was huge with a work area, living room and two bathrooms. It was very well-appointed. WiFi was easy to access and free. All of the associates were friendly and helpful.

Yelp
Stayed here for a conference. Clean room, clean common areas, and it was nice to have access to the Hub for lunch! Staff inside the bar/restaurant area was amazing, however, we ran into a huge problem with the front desk staff and this is absolutely not okay!

Yelp
The one star reviewers did not stay at this hotel. The service is excellent from all departments. This property has 20 floors of rooms, with a restaurant, bar, Starbucks & room service. Our room was clean, comfortable and we could set the thermostat to our liking. Also had coffee and a refrigerator. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this hotel. Forgot to mention there are hundreds of restaurants within a 2 mile radius.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here for two nights. We stayed here to attend Sunday's church service at Lakewood Church. It was a great experience for us since it was our first time attending Lakewood church. This hotel was recommended to us since it's closest to the church. We upgraded our KING BED CORNER ROOM to 1 KING DELUXE SUITE, but the room was run down. Not what we were expecting. This place needs a lot of work. The furniture looked ok. Not sure how often the carpet is vacuumed and cleaned, but I recommend management to stay on top of this. The carpet either needs to be replaced or cleaned often. The walls inside this building are falling apart. There was a nasty odor on our floor walking towards the suite. The air conditioning in our suite was also smelly. The room was not cheap either. It was overpriced for what we experienced.

Yelp
This Doubletree looks very nice & is located in the Greenway Plaza, which means there's near by restaurants on the lower level linking nearby businesses. Upon entering the hotel it's very quaint, semi-elegant atrium & decent reception area. Next to the check-in desk (lobby), is a Starbucks, a restaurant & the bar is around the corner. I liked the self check-in with the digital room key, even though cell reception in the hotel isn't great, even with wife. The room I was in, 818, was a nice spacious king sized bed & floor to ceiling windows. My room had a mini-fridge & a safe, no microwave. Very clean & modern. The bathroom area had a little separated room for the toilet/shower & another room for the iron/ironing board & closet with a safe. All was well, just judging the book by its cover. I'd think twice about booking here again but if all else fails, sure why not. LoL Room Service: I ordered breakfast one day & it came at the marked time. It was hot, cooked to order & delicious. I got the breakfast quesadilla & it was a huge portion, easily enough for two. Cons *Parking & lack of elevator- After feeling like you're on an amusement park ride with the winding, downhill spiral into the parking garage & self-parking the car ($14 per night for my conference/ $22 regular price & $27 for valet ..... That's a ridiculous price to park my own car.), you walk into the building & there's NO elevator!!! You have to come up the escalator with your luggage, Really Doubletree!! Then you come to the "Concourse" level, here's where you either continue up another set of escalators or take the elevator to the right. There's no signs telling you this level is how you get to the shops & restaurants (which are closed on the weekend). Plus, there were no signs about to how get to my conference. *Room-The AC in the room wasn't efficient, I had to cut it down to 60 degrees to make it feel like 70. Then there was the poor water pressure in the shower, this was almost a deal breaker for me, I almost changed rooms but sucked it up. *Restaurant-Then several of my conference peers had issues in the restaurant one of the conference days; rude staff, delay in transitioning from breakfast to lunch after the stated time. One waiter tracked her down @ the conference to re-swipe her card! Wow *Conference- there was a double booking issue so we had to change rooms & the company ended up changing hotels with the other group coming in. That's a MAJOR inconvenience to those coming in & NOT being at the hotel where the conference is.

Yelp
This review is based on my experience here when many of us from CBS Radio were trapped at work in Greenway Plaza during Harvey. Our general manager had the foresight to get a few rooms for us so we could all shower and sleep comfortably for the 4 or 5 days we were unable to get home. Most of the hotel staff as well was also trapped at their jobs. They could not have been more helpful and professional. As short staffed as they were they managed to man the bar, room service and valet 24/7. They did have trouble after a while with daily maid service. But we were all there for several days anyhow. And they did start closing the restaurants early so as to not run out of food. Still, a fantastic job of keeping things close to normal for us guests. Rooms: Large and comfy beds Bathtubs and showers Great toiletries Wi-fi is free if you are a Hilton Honors member coffee maker & small fridge No mini bar or microwave In room safe Ironing board Valet - yes, but a bit pricey per day. But use it if you have a car. Self parking isn't that much cheaper and the parking is a maze to get back into the building. Starbucks in the lobby. Honestly, unless you know the area finding the front entrance can be tricky. Be sure to Google Map it and follow the very small signage on the ramps. This is not really a "vacation in Houston" location. But if you have business in Greenway Plaza, it is the ideal location. This is a fine Hilton. Nothing super amazing. But the staff made up for what really was just a nice hotel in a good location for our needs this particular week.

Yelp
Worst customer service ever. Took 5 weeks to finally get to speak to a supervisor and that was through email and 7 months for hotel management still has never spoke to housekeeping. Housekeeping stole items from room. Escalators were broken so had to walk up them with suitcases.
