This place is great. Our room is clean, bathroom is clean but the sink leaked on the floor..... but our view is just incredible. Double beds are fairly comfortable. It's very quiet being in such close proximity to the roads. Only thing I can say that's a down side is no free breakfast.......I was told it's 28 dollars a person. Yikes. But otherwise, great stay.

Google
There are newer and better hotels in the area for the same price point. Parking $51 a day, hamburger was $28 and wasn’t any better than quick order. The bath tub was rusty and peeling. Overall it’s just an older building, lots of little things. Room was clean and serviced regularly. They refused me late checkout when I asked the front desk. Also hot water went out for a few hours during my stay, resolution was they told me I had to wait. Location is nice, I walked to whole foods several times and ate there instead.

Spent ~$130 for one night. The room is clean and comfortable. I think I can see the Pentagon. Friendly staff. Can early check-in and they give you cookies. The facility is overall good but not the newest. The heat is a little bit noisy. The hotel entrance is hard to find. It's in the parking lot.

We had a great experience here! We came home late from vacation and find that our car wouldn’t start. We couldn’t get help for about an hour. So we decided to check in for the night and deal with it in the morning. Jordan from the front desk was more than accommodating for our tired family of 4. We got a good nights rest in a very comfortable room. Thank you!

Google
Giving that this is my first time at this hotel, I had high hopes for a good experience. Customer service was rude, when I called to get assistance after the rep at the front desk gave me the wrong key to someone else’s room. On top of the fact that the room we did get had urine on the tub, as well as inside of the tub. Called to tell them about the issue, and was met with a nonchalant response from the manager at the property, when I asked for a room swap. I don’t recommend this location at all, it’s better hotels in the area.

Google
We had an excellent stay! Bob checked us in and was so kind and hospitable. The entire staff was friendly throughout our stay. The Cafe served hearty breakfasts with friendly service. Views of the Pentagon and the city from the North Tower are cool. There’s pretty good coffee nearby at Commonwealth Joe’s. Groceries just across the intersection at Whole Foods. Short walk to the Metro and ≈7 stops to the Smithsonian stop. Will return. 👍

Google
I would not recommend booking here. We came in very late at night and tired. Unknowingly had to pay for parking and rooms separately. We opted out the parking and the manager on duty the night of Nov. 22 still charged us. While some of the staff was very nice and accommodating, others could use hospitality training. The ceiling in the room was peeling and caving. The shower felt like someone threw paint in the tub. The curtains were torn. The only reason why we stayed is because they were going to charge us regardless.

I've never stay in a Double tree before even thought I'm a diamond member but the staff upgraded my room for a balcony view to the beautiful monuments of DC. Room need some upgrade but i'm pretty sure some reviews has say it. It's time for remodeling. The balcony door was closed and the rain still got inside and soak the carpet (not a lot). The lobby need more festive vibes (decorations) it looks a little depressing.

Yelp
I always appreciate when a business takes my feedback into account. Even if it wasn't directly mine, DoubleTree has accommodated the following: * Second year in a row of a super-quiet room. * Wireless worked much more fluidly this time. Simple login. * Elevator worked much better with my room key, so no more stair hopping. * Orange juice tasted fresh! Little bits of orange! It's the little things like that that count. What it would take for a fifth star: We still had a nonworking presentation screen, the breakfast foods still look like prepackaged artifice, and there still need to be more signs to help you find your way around (such as from the lower level to the lobby for check-in). I'm not expecting fixing the car issues (structural engineering) or asking to change the elevators. Keep on improving!

Fred K.

Yelp
Yes the reviews for this place is pretty much spot on. The rooms have seen better days. It needs a refresh. Our AC unit was so loud I had to turn it off. The bathroom is small and it instead of using a tub liner, they used shower liner (so the liner covers half the tub). Breakfast buffet had a nice good selection and cook to order eggs too. A bit pricey but convenient. Seemed like many families had breakfast vouchers. There is an awesome breakfast place with great donuts nearby that I would have gone instead of I knew beforehand. What this place has going is the view of Washington DC. I came here to watch the fireworks and they have two parties. One for sky dome (adults only) and a family party. We did the family party and it was what I expected. Awesome views, decent food, and nice cool room to watch the fireworks!

Yelp
Rooms are dirty, mild and mildew throughout. Restaurants are slow and food isn't good (like expensive airplane food).

Yelp
If I could leave zero stars I would. Never in my life have I experienced such poor customer service when attempting to pay for a hotel! In early March I called to request a credit card authorization and instead of reaching a human I got a recording with instructions to text a number for assistance. I did and received no reply. This was almost 2 months in advance of the reservations I made online. I was attempting to complete a credit card authorization to cover the purchase of two rooms for a conference at a total of approximately $1700. Fast forward a month later, having realized that this was still unresolved, I text again asking for assistance and received a text that they would get back to me but never did. I text a third time letting them know I still hadn't received a reply or any attempt at assistance and that I needed to authorize payment on my card for other rooms. It was only then when they said they don't do credit card authorizations and I should call another number. The number was invalid. I proceed to call the hotel directly and zero through to the operator where I explain my circumstances - I would not be there in person and needed to pay for hotel rooms. She put me on hold and tried the number that was provided to me and confirmed thst it was no good before transferring me to the Front Desk manager. The call went to voice mail and I left a message but a return call was ever received. I once again text the 'customer service' number provided with much frustration ready to cancel reservations and received a reply with an email to send my credit card information to. Not wanting my credit card compromised, I emailed an encrypted file with instructions to call me for the password and shared my business hours of availability. I received a call over the weekend (not during my work hours). I called the hotel on Monday to indicate who I'd been communicating with by text, but he wasn't in so I was transferred to the front desk manager. Once again, no return call was received. By this time I'd called multiple times and received several apologies from the front desk clerk and still no follow up from the person who had replied to my text and provided instructions. The guests checked in and were very upset that they had to provide their personal credit cards and this had still not been resolved. I shared their frustration and copies of the texts and email that I sent to the hotel. One of them provided a number requesting I call the hotel manager directly, but it ended up leading me to the housekeeping manager's voicemail. Within the hour, I received a call from someone who claimed to be the hotel manager who was surprised to hear my complaints and experience, but was quick to let me know that they don't do credit card authorizations, it was handled by their accounting department. I indicated that their system was broken and that I would never book with them again. She found the email that I sent almost a month prior and tried to take issue with the fact that the picture of my credit card was blurry (the number was typed out on an attached signed letter). Finally, she processed payment and asked if I wanted a copy of the receipt. Really? This is the second inexcusable experience I've had with the Hilton brand in a year. Shame on you for your lack of customer service!!! Fix your systems - have accounting reply to requests or continue to lose customers. Never. EVER. Again!!! Avoid them at all costs. I will be following up with Hilton corporate with feedback.

Yelp
This Hilton Doubletree property in Crystal City is well priced for a King bed suite at $115 in proximity to DC. However, the location does not have the subway next to the property and alternative food options are not immediately neighboring the property. It's far from remote and the hotel is in a busy area, but you will likely taxi or Uber to the hotel if you are not driving and you will be somewhat of a captive audience when it comes to breakfast. The primary draw to this property is its turntable SkyDome restaurant, offering you a 360 degree view of the DC and Arlington skylines. Reservations were easy to make and the entrance is somewhat hidden near the garage and shuttle area on the Lower Lobby level, where you can take the elevator or escalator up to the lobby and the front desk. This hotel has two towers, North and South, so you will have to pay attention in which tower your room is located. The King suite is spacious and offers two closets for your hanging garments. My bathroom needs renovation, given the toilet sounded like it had a valve leak which caused it to sound like it was always trying to fill its tank. It was not too loud and it could be hard primarily in the bathroom and was not a disturbance to sleep. This Hilton property offers the toiletries in bottles housekeeping refills, the trend at most hotels. Lighting was good and set a good mood and the air conditioning was fully operational, albeit with a bit more noise than it should, with a good thermostat for adjustment to your individual preference that actually worked well. This remarkably cannot be said for far too many hotels. The cable service for the two flatscreens was only adequate, but most people are not staying here to watch television. You are somewhat of a captive audience for breakfast here and their buffet priced at $30 is on the high side for what they offer, which is nothing remarkable, but you can get your fill, it's good and nothing tastes objectionable. There are places to eat in the vicinity, but you are not likely to walk there for breakfast. Having a car at this property would be a plus to access DC and dining in the area, with some incredible kebab places in the vicinity, one which is open 24/7. All staff and housekeeping were excellent. I was part of a wedding block and they were up to the task of handling our block. The fresh and warm cookies are very much welcomed as a nice touch. Three stars!

Yelp
We wanted to enjoy the DC National Mall fireworks without the heat, crowds, or bugs, so we made a reservation for a National Mall-facing room. The prices for the night of the 4th were doubled! That's understandable but still outrageous. When we arrived a bit after 1600, the lobby was packed with people waiting to check in. The wait wasn't too long, and we were greeted by a pleasant lady. She assured us that the room we had was the best view, so we continued with the check-in. She handed us a nice soft chocolate chip and walnut cookie (one each!) before we headed up to our room. Our room really did have the best view! Speaking of our room, the decor was outdated with water damage in the bathroom and by the window. While the views were A+, the room was a D, if that. The bed was the second best part of the room, but the mattress could've been better. While we had a lovely evening in our room, what spoiled our stay completely occurred in the morning. Checkout is at 1100, and we had planned to stay until then. At 0900, while I was in the bathroom and my husband was still in bed, housekeeping tapped on our door with their key card a few times before they went to try and enter our room. Thankfully, my husband had put the security latch up. At checkout, we let the front desk know of the situation. They apologized profusely and gave us a small credit (18% refund) for our stay. It was nice, but it didn't answer why it happened. I've stayed in countless hotel rooms, and this was the first time hotel staff attempted to enter my room without my authorization. It certainly made me decide to find another hotel in the future.

Yelp
This was my crash pad during a work trip to Washington DC. I have to admit, when I saw some of the reviews I was afraid I had made a wrong choice. But I was glad I did stay here! The location is very convenient, right in the heart of downtown Arlington / Pentagon City and the adjacent shops and restaurants as well as the DC Metro. You can also see some of the monuments on the streets around. There's also a gift shop on premise for tourist swag such as fridge magnets. Like a lot of Hiltons, I like the fact that the bathroom has liquid body wash and I don't have to be tortured and inconvenienced with bar soap while showering. The water pressure and temperature were also great and relaxing after days of meetings. The room AC could have been a little colder for my preference but it is locked to 66 degrees. Also, the walls seemed a little thin that I could hear conversation from the next room. That knocks down a star. Still & all, my bed was comfortable and the pillows soft & fluffy. Although I ate elsewhere with coworkers, I did order their creme brûlée cheesecake for a sweet tooth after dinner elsewhere. It didn't have the crispy crust one expects from said dish - it had more the soft texture of a "regular" cheesecake it was still yummy. The breakfast buffet was tasty and filling as well, with scrambled eggs, bacon & pancakes. The complementary Wi-Fi that came with my Hilton Honors membership was good enough to catch up on emails and such. My room was cleaned every day the two days I was there, and front desk staff were friendly. Hotel public areas were also clean and looked pretty well maintained. It's definitely a great place to stay when visiting the DC area!

Yelp
1.) arrived at the lower level of the hotel. (I was in a wheelchair) There was no information to tell guest(s) to take the elevator up to Lobby for checkin. 2.) The checkin was very slow and no offer for assistance to getting to my room which was the last room on the 5th floor. 3.) The was not to the standard as advertised. Filthy windows, the balcony was unlocked, vent disgusting, curtains deplorable, pillow case stained, etc. 4.) Toilet takes two flushes instead of one. I informed the hotel and received a text the manager will call. (Never happened). 5.) Photos are posted on other review outlets. This site didn't give me the option.

Kevin M.

Yelp
I stayed for one night one a Monday night. I found the DiubleTree clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly. The hotel gym is one of the best I've seen. It's convenient to restaurants, shopping, and the Pentagon.

Alexander D.

Yelp
Total renovation of all guest rooms. The pictures online are a misrepresentation of what you're actually getting a room key for. The reservation clerks very professional and courteous, on point. The other Hotel staff I encountered very helpful and knowledgeable. Everything shut down at 9 or 10pm. In the DMV for the Nations Annual Fireworks display. Looking forward to hanging out with all of my fellow Americans. Second day/night 4th of July evening. The lobby bar is short staff and not prepared. The head bar tender Alaimia (excuse) my spelling Get the man some assistance so he can adjust his freaking Attitude. You have swing shift or house mgrs walking around roll up your selves and clear a table pitch in and take an order. There is no way Hilton Corporate is aware of the situation. I am very disappointed especially for the cost of staying here.

Elizabeth F.

Yelp
Reading the recent reviews, I was a bit worried about my upcoming stay. But I am glad to report that my stay was fine. I had a nice comfy room in the North Tower. It might be a tad dated but it was bright and clean and had everything I needed for my 4 night stay. But I will complain about the pillows. Flat and mushy. Crystal City itself is not my favorite place when I come to DC on business (our sponsor picked the location). But the hotel was within walking distance of a Whole Foods (stuff for my in room fridge) and a number of decent restaurants which is helpful. I felt perfectly safe going where I wanted. I used the Hilton app to check in/check out (easy) but it means I did not get my famous Doubletree cookie.

Burhan G.

Yelp
Some maintenance was being done at the time. The King room also has a queen pull out. Double rooms are full beds. Otherwise it was a nice hotel.

Paul K.

Yelp
Nearly $300 a night + $46 for parking. $65 if your vehicle is oversized and won't fit in the garage. Only 6'3" clearance BTW. The lobby is nice and all, but the rest of the hotel is worn out and rundown. This place needs a renovation. At $300 a night they can afford to freshen the place up. I often stay at the San Diego Hilton which is on the water and much less than this. Disappointed.

Jennifer D.

Yelp
I stayed here for a work trip and was disappointed on the breakfast options. Unless you go to the overpriced sit down breakfast restaurant you are limited to the small grab and go shop. It would have been great if they had more options in the grab and go area like breakfast burritos and sandwiches. The location is further away from the majority of restaurants and shops but is still very walkable. The crown jewel of my stay here was the fitness center. It is one of the best hotel gyms I have been to which was awesome.

Jessica G.

Yelp
Such a great stay! Shak helped my family and I get the perfect room. They were in town visiting for a big celebration I was hosting, and I wanted to make them feel special. Our rooms were amazing with such nice views! Would absolutely recommend and would stay again.

Tiffany H.

Yelp
Stayed at this Double Tree when I recently attended a concert in DC. The hotel was easy to find using gps. I temporarily parked in a handicap spot while I ran inside to check in. There was absolutely nowhere to simply park in front of the building. The check is is through the doors and up the escalators on second floor. The check in process went quick and smoothly. My room came With parking so my room card doubled as my card to enter the parking garage. The underground parking garage is very small. The entrance is narrow, I had to pull in and pull out 3 times to make the turn into the entrance. After 20 minutes circling around we finally found a spot. The wait for the elevators to get to the hotel lobby floor was painless. However we were in the North tower so we had to go around the back of lobby with our luggage and hop on the other set of elevators to get to our room. The room was small but clean and doable for just one night. There is vending machines on each floor. The machine on my floor took my money, the machine on the floor above me was broken and the machine on the next floor only took cards and I had only grabbed cash. So I decided to just go to lobby and grab my Diet Coke. Except to my surprise unlike most Hiltons they didn't have a little store at the front desk and the main store for the hotel was closed. That was an annoying experience smh. The bed was comfy I slept well. Check out was a breeze. And there was no billing issues. I would recommend

Paul M.

Yelp
First the location is close to the Crystal City metro station, 10 min. walk, easy to get into DC and around. A few restaurants also close. But the hotel itself needs a lot of work, really run down. Sort of stuck on the 70's?! In the rooms the Carpets have stains, wallpaper is torn and the bathroom fixtures are coming apart. For a large chain like this i'd expect better, especially for the cost, and with 44.00 a day parking. However the Skydome restaurant was very nice, good food and great atmosphere. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly! Would i stay here again ? Probably not. But i would eat at Skydome again.

Earashea B.

Yelp
We used to stay here often about eight yrs ago when my husband worked in DC full time. This was actually one of our favorite hotels in the area. I'm not sure what happened to this place but it's absolutely terrible. I was so nervous one of the roaches we saw could potentially hitchhike back to our home. We couldn't wait to check out we actually shorted our stay because we couldn't stay in filthy conditions. We will never stay at this Double tree again. Do better Hilton!

Vincent L.

Yelp
The location is great. 10mins drive to airport or white house and walking distance to nearby shops. Free airport shuttle and free water bottles are great for late night travellers. I didn't try their cafe or other amenities so I cant comment on that . Room is comfortable and clean. Bed is on the firm side so I like it. Shower has plenty of water pressure. There are some damage in my bathroom that maintenance needs to take off before it gets worse. The front desk is very attentive 24/7 Con: It is kind of expensive with no river views.

Miranda K.

Yelp
I stayed in a suite for two nights recently. The living space was cozy, with a sink, great size fridge, and a microwave. It had a decent size TV, a nice size couch, as well as a desk to work at, or do make up. The bedroom was a seperate room with a TV, and a slide door, which was perfect for us as my husband always gets up before me, and he could go and chill on the couch without disturbing me. The shower had a nice pressure and temp. They supply shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and body mousturiser. there was a hairdrier, iron & ironing board, and coathangers. The only thing we were disappointed at, was the lack of vegan options in the Skydome Restaurant. All we could see was hummus and pita. It is really time to catch up with the rest of the world. Any real chef would love the challenge of making vegan food! We did have a neighbour guest have their TV on loud at 5am, but my husband called front desk, and it was delt with quickly. All in all, nothing serious, just the lack of options for us vegans.

Heather H.

Yelp
No idea how this hotel is rated so highly. Pros: upgraded to the DC view and it was great. Cons: -no ice maker on any floor, you have to go downstairs to the snack bar and they give you a tiny bag -digital phone keys - spotty at best, so just go to the desk and get cards -no wifi, or at least we could jot get signal on the 12th floor--so bring a hotspot with you -the hole in the ceiling on the 12th floor when you exit - probably 12-18", unacceptable in a hotel of this price -the dim lighting in the hallways makes it feel sketchy, like they are trying to hide the dirt -SELF parking isn't easy and it's $44 a day!!! If you have a compact car shouldn't be that hard. No valet option -it rained for 2 hours and we had no tv because they use direct tv -bathrooms need a major refurb! They are tiny and have no storage at all. -3 drawers for clothes and maybe 10 hangers -we had a formal dinner to attend and the lighting in the room and bathroom made it hard to get ready -wallpaper is separating from the walls I am picky, but my husband is not and he was not happy with the place. I would not recommend staying here. If we have to come back we will stay at a hotel nearby and just walk.

Al O.

Yelp
It's really run down and old. Would not recommend. Still has a popcorn ceiling. Would not recommend.

Miss T.

Yelp
This place was the absolute worst. The hotel Staff doesn't want to take responsibility for the guest who smoke inside the rooms and make loud noise all night. We stayed two nights and this was by far the worst place ever. Please do not waste your money for a suite because you will get a run down room with no room service. At best you should run away from this hotel. If I could give this place negative stars then I would... Joy at the front desk was nice the first day and could care less about how I felt after I complained.

Eric H.

Yelp
Good location. Lots of amenities nearby. Whole Foods, Costco, many restaurants, and a mall. Like many DoubleTrees, this one is dated and a facelift is well overdue. Their double beds are smaller than a kids bed and even my 5'5" wife can't get a good nights sleep in one. However, getting a king while with an airline takes an act of Congress or a front desk employee that won't get overwhelmed by doing more than one thing at a time. So-so hotel. I wish they took better care of their airline partners..

Ciarra V.

Yelp
Horrible customer service, do not recommend. Workers in the front were friendly, but everything else is broken and no one is willing to fix it.

C S.

Yelp
We just spent 5 nights here and it was very nice. The reason we chose it is because our family lives in an apartment next door, so the convenience was great. Yes it could use an update but it was clean, staff were friendly and helpful and we slept great. Would like to have more coffee in the room and the parking fee for guests was a lot but other than that it was good. We would stay there again.

Betsy S.

Yelp
Horrible customer service, complained about the AC not working mind you the heater started turning on instead because I couldn't turn it down. No one made an effort to fix it or even change us rooms to accommodate. Wouldn't stay here again.

John M.

Yelp
Love this hotel. Friendly staff. Great location and very comfortable rooms for any length of overnight stay.

Mark N.

Yelp
Theres a reason the overall rating is so low. The thermostat didn't work. The temperature couldn't be changed at all and the front desk was very rude about it after the first call requesting assistance was not answered after 45 minutes of waiting. We tried to request a refund for our room and the "manager on duty" flat out told us that nowhere does it say they have to provide us with a "comfortable room", and that if we wanted a refund we'd have to call corporate. Too much hassle to deal with the night before an early flight out.

Scott R.

Yelp
The maid mistook my weed for trash... it's theft in my opinion... the manager made no attempt to make up for my $40 loss the hotel is ok but damn mr. manager at least offer me something to make it up....Update .....I was high I misplaced my weed... what would you expect from a stoner... MY APOLOGIES TO THE MANAGER And HOUSING STAFF .... I WAS WRONG PLEASE FORGIVE ME ITS AZZ holes like me that make the world a more difficult place than it needs to be

Kim W.

Yelp
I came here to run the Marine Corps marathon. i come back to my room exhausted, needing food and to rest only to find a cockroach. I talk to Marcus supposedly the manager and he gives me attitude. Just get down here and I'll put you in another room he says but not nicely. So after running 26 miles and not eating anything all day, I have to pack my room up and get attitude from front desk staff. I am never staying at a Hilton hotel again.

Melanie C.

Yelp
This hotel is definitely not the trendiest, most upscale hotel in the area but it serves its purpose... somewhere fairly comfortable and clean to lay your head for the night. The lobby area is bright, inviting, and stylish, the guest rooms however need quite a bit of updating in comparison. They do contain all the standard amenities (mini fridge, coffee maker, iron, hairdryer, etc.). Nothing fancy just the basics. It's nice that the hotel is in a great location close to DCA and within walking distance to dozens of restaurants, a couple of coffee shops, the Washington Metro, Whole Foods, as well as Fashion Centre at Pentagon City Mall. There are a couple of restaurants located inside the hotel as well for convenience. There's a free shuttle that runs to and from the airport on a set schedule. This Doubletree is perfect if you're not looking for a 5 star luxury experience but instead just a standard hotel without all the bells and whistles.

Nicole S.

Yelp
VERY unsafe and dirty hotel. The rooms being outdated was not the main issue. Bathroom floor tiles were loose. Mold in bath tub. Bathroom door did not close. Desk lamp did not work. Another room they tried to switch me to smelled foul and has mold in the bath tub. DO NOT STAY HERE! Horrible experience.

Chelsea B.

Yelp
Let's cut straight to the chase. This place is only good for a one night stay... in and out. Great service.... And since people in the reviews seem to really be obsessed about the cookies...they are good... but this place is strictly NO Frills. Prepare to be underwhelmed. It is just ok. Not terrible, no amazing, but just enough for a good nights sleep. Had to fly into DC even though I will be attending a wedding 2 hours away and needed something relatively cheap since o have a early morning train to catch. Room was $246 total... I guess you get what you pay for ‍....but I've definitely stayed in nicer places for sour the same price. It's not modern or updated very basic but it's just fine for the night . Plus they have a shuttle service they will pick you up from the airport so they saved on uber

Breanna G.

Yelp
Staff were friendly...shoutout to Hasan! He helped me navigate through Washington without a hitch. The hotel gives guests freshly baked cookies. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Definitely had a great experience. The only thing I was a little bummed about was they permanently closed the pool. Just a heads up...if you're catching the shuttle to the airport, make sure to leave early enough because the shuttle stops at another hotel to pick people up. Wasn't an issue for me since I left early enough, but that info was never disclosed.

Yelp
DO NOT STAY HERE!! Horrible, horrible, horrible!! Where to start, let's start with A! A - pull up to the front door, ask the valet /bellman can we park here while we check in (all other spots are full) he said yes, of course. Check in and one back out, another valet comes around the corner and starts lecture 1,2,3,4 reasons while we can't park here. I was taken back at the wsy he spoke to us, I ask the other man said it was okay, we asked and were given permission to park here. B - parking lot was half blocked off for a motorcycle gang .. yeah like really - which by the way were revving their engines into the early morning hours .. we were above them.. on the 11th floor mind you and could still hear them. C - EXTRA $42 FOR PARKING!! WHERE THE HELL WAS THAT IN THE HOTEL DESCRIPTION ... IT WASNT! D - dirty bathroom towels - see picture E - blood on the sheets - a small couple drops behind the pillows, but still ewww F - only thing good was the breakfast - overpriced, but hey you are near DC G - horrible customer service, hung up on time after time after time again - reason to even want to talk to them. Charged two cards the $42 for the parking ... you are NOT stealing my money! DO. NOT. STAY. HERE!!!

Yelp
I made a reservation for 2 nights today. After making the reservation the airline had weather delays and it seemed like I would not make it to DC tonight. I thought that I could call and at least cancel the second night of the reservation since it was within 24 hours, I was prepared to lose out on tonight. At first I got someone at the toll free number who seemed to be in another country. He said he had to call the hotel for approval since it was the same night. He was unsuccessful in reaching someone at the hotel directly and advised that I call. I called and explained what was happening with the flights and that I was trying to avoid needing charged for both nights if I didn't make it. She said that she "could not cancel my reservation without penalties, she would have to charge be for at least tonight". Not wanting to chance laying for 2 nights I agreed and asked her that since I had to pay anyway for the night would they still hold it and if I got on my flight I'd at least have a place. She said yes and hung up. I waited for the reservation to update in the app. After 10 minutes when it had not I called the hotel back and got the same woman. I told her that I didn't see the update. She said that she didn't hit save. She saved and I saw one night. I finally got on my flight and got to DC and the hotel only to find that she canceled TONIGHT and left my reservation for tomorrow the very thing she did she could not do. Now the front desk agent says that they are sold out and that I could check in tomorrow. I of course explained again what happened, she said to show her the original confirmation which I did. She then repeated sorry we're sold out. She went to the manager who then stepped in. I explained again for the third time and he says they are sold out. This was not my fault and nobody seemed to want i find a solution for a mistake they made which was now my problem. Finally, the manager found a double room and was gracious enough to discount the rate as I had reserved a suite. I wanted to make sure that my reservation for tomorrow was canceled as with all of the delays my plans have changed. He then very curtly attempted to school me on what he referred to as the "language of the hospitality industry" because what I was requesting was a "modification" to my reservation not a cancelation which is what I was actually saying. He went on to say that a modification is when they modify the reservation to allow me to check in a day early. I pointed out that I too was in the hospitality industry and have been as a flight attendant for over 30 years and that I shouldn't have to ask to check in early because my original date to check in was TODAY not tomorrow. They made the mistake and if my misuse if their terminology confused them that much then they need to get people who can listen to the entire story and apply their terminology correctly. I finally get to the room and upon walking in I understood why he had said they were sold out. This room smells like the feet of a truck driver who hasn't bathed and six months. It's awful. The hotel in general has gone down. Over the years I've stayed here for work and enjoyed. I purposely came back because the location to the airport and the train is perfect. I called housekeeping because i knew there was no need in asking the front desk. She came up claimed not to smell anything but said it was because she is in so many rooms that she didn't smell them anymore. She sprayed air freshener, told me to walk out of the room and come back and hoped that helped. It didn't. It is very musty and drab, dated and like a motel next to a truck stop. I've been as much as a diamond member with Hilton and always thought they were better than all of the rest, but will definitely NOT be staying at this location and due to the incompetence and lack of empathy will for sure build my reward points elsewhere. If you don't read anything else read this DO NOT STAY HERE. THE OTHER COMMENTS ABOUT THE ROOMS ARE TRUE.

Yelp
DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Washington DC - Crystal City in Arlington is a great place to stay in the middle of everything. I really like the location and everything that they have available here. The cookies here are very good.

Yelp
Poor service the woman in the lobby was not willing to work with us at all and she was asleep when I showed up to check in we made reservations online but we missed our check in window but despite having availability we were turned away after looking at the other reviews on here I'm glad we didn't stay

Yelp
I stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Washington DC - Crystal City on May 22, 2022, after my flight was canceled. The Hilton app would not allow me to access a digital key, so I had to wait in a long line at the front desk. I finally arrived at my room and was greeted by one of the foulest smells. I could not determine the smell, so I went to bed--bad idea. I then opened the sheets to find they were NOT cleaned. I don't know if the hotel was short-staffed or what, but these sheets we not changed. There was visible dirt and grime on the sheets and I was disgusted. I called down to the front desk & all they could offer was a new sheet because all the other rooms were taken & housekeeping had left for the day... Disappointed, I took the sheets and tried my best to sleep. The morning came and I went to grab my bag but I found it covered in oil. At least 3 square feet of the carpet were covered in this oil. It was absolutely disgusting. This is unacceptable for a Hilton Hotel. It's nearly a month later and I'm still in conversation with guest services trying to get compensation.

Yelp
Horrible! I was not able to sleep due to feeling like I was being bit by bugs all night. The pillows are horrible. The shower....where to start!!!! How are you a hotel and the showers don't drain so you're standing in a tub full Of water while you shower? This was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at.

Yelp
Had a pretty nice time here. We booked 2 rooms separately through Expedia. They realized that we were together and were able to put the rooms on the same floor in the same tower (They have a north and a south tower). One of our rooms was the presidential suite which was really nice. The only cons I have was that the trash can was sooooo tiny in the room. It was a square but also half of it was recycle. So the trash was even tinier. Also the balcony only had one lawn chair. It would have been nice to sit outside with us both laid back in our own lawn chair. The presidential suite beside us had two lawn chair so we were just wondering what happened to ours. Speaking of the other presidential suite beside us, it would be nice to have a privacy screen/wall between the two balconies. It's a little awkward if you had two sets of couples out there at the same time. I don't want to overhear there entire conversation while we are on the balcony as well. Lastly, they had a pretty nice table on the balcony however to get to the other side of the table to sit, you actually had to lift up one of the chairs to get through. The table was big and the chair didn't fit under so the last option was to lift the chair over your head to get to the other side.

Yelp
I made it to DC and OMG. Yet another disappointment. Room is dirty. There is a plastic knife next to the bed that obviously housekeepers did not even notice nor did they look. The TV did not work and when I called they had ME troubleshoot it. When I stayed with Marriott in Montana, the TV also did not work but they immediately sent not 1, not 2 but 3 engineers and the fix was just a loose HDMI cable in the back of the TV. Here I played engineer. Well they sent someone in his regular clothes to fix it. I am staying for 2 days but there was 1 soap, 1 shampoo, 1 lotion for 2 people, for 2 days. So when I called I got a ton that I don't need. What a slap in the face. For coffee there were 2 creamers for the coffee. I called for more and never got extra. Now mind you, they have the hooks in the shower where bottles should be attached but they were not in there. The curtains are so dirty full of stains. Yuck. Carpet is dirty - I don't dare walk barefoot. The USB plugs do not work. The shower is clogged. I work in quality assurance so I inspect what is expected and this has been a horrible experience. Hilton unfortunately you lost me as a member.

Yelp
This review is for the hotel's self parking garage: If you're looking for a more affordable airport parking option, consider Doubletree Crystal City. Their close proximity to DCA makes it a hotspot for airport travelers, especially since the hotel provides a free shuttle for all patrons (hotel guest or not). I purchased the parking voucher online through a third party, but Doubletree staff were happy to assist when I called in for instructions. You pull a ticket, self park and then head to the hotel's front desk for validation upon your exit, with proof of prior online purchase. The shuttle loops around every 30 minutes and takes you directly to your terminal spot. For six days, we paid ~$65, including taxes and fees. In comparison, he economy lot at Reagan runs about $17 per day.

Yelp
Positive thoughts first. Location is convenient to Metro and DC sites. Shuttle to/from airport is nice. Haji is one of the servers in the restaurant on the lobby level that should be giving courses on how hotel employees should conduct themselves - professional and friendly and knowledgeable. Now the bad. We stayed here for a reunion and wanted a room with a city view. While a portion of DC was visible, we had a better view of the roof and the rooms on another wing of the hotel. Third floor adjacent to the elevators and the noise could be 24/7. As others have stated, the hotel needs an upgrade. Our room had a slope in the floor which caused a gap in the entry door and the bathroom door did not close properly. The pillows were uncomfortable. When we checked in, the staff was borderline rude and we did not receive a cookie and water which we saw other members of our group get. When we inquired about the Metro, the staff member wasn't clear as to what station to use and finally said Crystal City when Pentagon City is closer. The bar is nice but they need to upgrade their Direct TV package.

Yelp
No AC for three days. Thermostat stopped working. No resolution prior to me leaving the hotel despite telling the front desk several times. Unhelpful front desk people. Bar staff would not acknowledge me for 15 minutes; must have been the way I looked. Everything is badly managed and expensive. I mean, REALLY expensive. Stained sheets, poorly maintained and dated rooms. The door stop in the bathroom was rusty and useless. When I first arrived I had to remove leftover soap and shampoo bottles that the pervious guest had left in the shower. The north tower rooms share HVAC with restaurant upstairs so basically everything stinks of fryer oil, including now, my clothes. Do not stay here. Go anywhere else. You will thank me later.

Yelp
A lot wrong with this experience. (1) Room door sometimes did not latch when auto closing (2) Upholstered chairs were stained and frayed (3) Mirror in bathroom...bottom left edge broken off and cut me on the back of my hand pretty deeply, reported this to front desk...no one seemed interested (4) Shower hand rail loose at the top, will pull out of wall if someone tries to use it (5) bottom of bathroom door very worn and splintered (6) Carpet looks very worn and stained (7) Digital key card never worked...and front desk said they were having problems with the system (8) Revolving restaurant is closed with no anticipated reopening even though it's still advertised on Doubletree's website as a feature. This was a primary reason I, or my family, keep booking this hotel when I come to DC. At $325 per night, I'll pass next time.

Yelp
They need to open up more. Restaurants are closed for Covid still and bar menus was only thing open for dinner and the menu was really limited. Room was just ok but bathroom was tiny. The shuttle to the airport was late and slow. No breakfast. They need to get over Covid and provide service basic to hotel stays. Thank goodness for grubhub so we could eat.

Yelp
Our stay was very good. We had a good night sleep . Now the parking garage definitely needs to work on lowering the $45 per night fee. The garage is very cramped and the spaces are limited, especially if you are driving a van or a truck. Thanks for the warm cookie
