The food here was excellent!!! It can be a bit of a wait at the door but I understand what we’re all clamoring for. The atmosphere is as sweet, cozy, and quaint as advertised. I ordered a Smoked Salmon Tartine (added goat cheese) and Creme Brûlée french toast and they were filling and delicious. My server (Brooke) was attentive and lovely despite being so busy and I will 100% be back (maybe tomorrow).

Love this place! I've come here around the holidays with family as a special occasion AND am sitting here right now with my laptop working remotely too. The food is ssoooo delicious, I've loved everything I've had including the Croque Madame & the Parmesan Polenta Bowl. MUST get the tomato basil soup if you're here, it goes with anything you get and is so delish. My current fav drink is their Dirty Chai latte with vanilla. Great service! I am always happy

Doceur de France was such a beautiful experience, honestly a little moment of vacation without leaving town. I ordered a croissant sandwich and a Dubai latte with oat milk, and everything was delicious and perfectly made. What made it extra special was the atmosphere and service— I was greeted in French, and even when they brought my food out, they did it in French too. It truly made me feel like I had stepped into a café in France. Warm, charming, and unforgettable, I can’t wait to come back!

Amazingly cute restaurant, with ample parking in the the rear of the building. Friendly wait staff sat us promptly and answered questions we had. My mom had the Eggs Croissant and enjoyed the crisp croissant. My dad had the Salmon Tartine and didn't even offer to share! Monte Cristo with the fried egg for me was tasty and I struggled to finish it. It's a decent size and don't let the photo fool you. Restrooms were clean and fully stocked. Service was prompt and they also have little travel sized jams and honeys, which saved us from stopping by any additional stores for gifts to bring home. Support a local business, I'll return with my friends on my next trip.

Every person I interacted with was patient, welcoming, and incredibly helpful, which made the entire experience seamless from start to finish. The food was outstanding. Everything looked beautiful, smelled amazing, and tasted even better. Our catered order was a hit across the board, and multiple guests immediately asked that this bakery become our go-to for future orders. Great little spot off Alpharetta St in Roswell! Wonderful bakery items, coffe, breakfast, & friendly service! Grabbed a few things & will definitely be back to try more. The yogurt bowl was a delicious & healthy snack.

3.8/5!! The staff was very attentive, the food was very delicious and flavorful! Will come again. The French toast was not too sweet, the polenta was perfectly cooked and the torte was the highlight of the meal! However, the beef bourguignon was dry and a bit under salted, and the omelette could’ve used a bit more pesto. Nevertheless, we will be back to try all the other items on the menu.

Love to come here! This place is full of amazing serves and all of the are so lovely. It’s a great place to have brunch and a little time away. I stumbled upon this French bakery and was curious as it looked so cute from the outside. Upon entering you are greeted by some staff members taking orders at the register. They have tons of delicious pastries and a menu with tons of delicious sounding dishes. I got a frenchie sandwich and a chicken salad as well and we chose to sit outside. Each table has glasses and before you sit they do have water glasses ready to grab for each table with ice cold water. I did love that they had those readily available. It was quite busy as it was the brunch hour so def be aware as we arrived at 10:30 and it got busier as it got closer to noon. Staff was quick to bring us our food. It is very self service in the sense of you needing to go back to the front or a small table if you need anything. The food was decent but what impressed me the most was the beignets they had. They were fresh and absolutely delicious! Overall, the experience was nice but I wasn't in love with my food. I will have to go again and try something different for next time! I will be back!

The bakery is cozy and looks nice! The croissant was fresh; what disappointed me was the coffee, it has no flavor even though we paid for an extra shot.

I picked up a cherry oatmeal cookie and a mini lemon meringue tart. The cookie had a nice chewy consistency and the tart had a nice crust. Overall, this patisserie and cafe pales in comparison to the Marietta location. The selection of pastries, cakes, and prepared foods is much smaller and doesn't look as fresh. I will have to trek out to Marietta when I am craving an almond croissant or a sable cookie.

My wife loves this place. I think it's ok. She loves the croque madame to death. Says it's the best she's ever had. The kids grilled cheese, maybe a kid would like it. I'll try something else next time. The tomato soup was good. I love the cherry oatmeal cookie and the palmiers are delicious.

This place used to be a great hidden gem but recently I've had two negative experiences that highlight the decline of eating out. While the food is consistent the service is hit and miss. Pair the staff issues with a privileged clientele and I will pass and find a new gem. Both issues came with poor service recovery attempts that would have made Jack Welch cringe. A 10% discount on a subsequent order ($3?) and an offer to trade my chicken panini for a ham and cheese when one of their customers ran with my order without so much as a look to ensure it was theirs. Instead the staff berated each other and left me sitting there shocked at the business sense that lacked. And after I declined the ham-cheese substitution they told me I would get a refund in 2 business days. No other attempt to retain my patronage. Well at least the woman and her kids who took my son's order to her husband in the car look well fed and like future customers.

Good food, nice little bakery! Nice chill breakfast place. I really loved how lemony the hollandaise was on the Benedict and the poached eggs were perfect.

I love this French cafe so much! It's located right off of a fairly busy street and offers parking in the back. Spaces are limited but I've never had an issue finding a spot here. The interior is well-lit, clean, and quiet even on seemingly busier days. The staff here is knowledgeable of each of the tempting desserts on display and always nice. The prices are reasonable for the quality. I truly adore this inviting establishment.

So sad..... they changed their tart... they used to have one of the best in town- great ruffle edges with thick crisp buttery crust. Now it is the round tart you can get anywhere, not as crispy or snappy. What's worth is that the baguette I bought looked, felt, and tasted like a day or 2 old. I didn't realize it until I brought it home. It was hard as a rock. It was ridiculously hard, and i threw it away. What a waste of time and effort. During this visit, they did not have any baguette on display, so the store clerk brought one out just for me when I asked. I assumed it would be fresher than if they had some on display. Wrong!!!!!!! I used to drive to this establishment just to buy their baguette, but this will be my last. Thet still have "pretty" pastries, but my guess is either their management or pattisser changed.

Being from Paris, this place brought me right home! I really liked their Flan and the bread of the baguette for their Jambon Beurre. It is usually hard to make French pastries here in the states because the ingredients are harder to get by, but this place did great! I got to speak French at the bakery, and the service was nice. Ambiance was nice and we had a lovely time. Would come again!

The original owners left a little while back and so did the standards. The cashier was less than pleasant and the opera pastry was stale. The prices seemed to have gone up a lot, as a soda and pastry was $11. Also no one here speaks French, the same cooks speak only Spanish. Sad to see what this place turned into another underwhelming and overpriced shop. I used to come here a lot to get a ham and cheese sandwich and practice my French, now I come here and leave disappointed and wish I went somewhere else. Won't be going back, there are plenty of authentic French pastry shops around now. One good thing the manager at least who I think was the manager maybe new owner, was nice.

We always love to have breakfast here. Order at counter, food brought to table. Cute atmosphere. Somewhat expensive but worth it!

Simply loved it! Just left after and cannot wait to go back. Great quality and great service, that's what I always look for and do not compromise about. We tried the Classic Eggs Benedict, the Cheese Omelette and potatoes. Very good. The cappuccino was just perfect. Waited very little even though the place was very busy. Nice clientele. Ohh their pastries!!! That's what I am going back for. I felt at home , the combination French/Italian is the bomb.

Just needed to take a moment to APPLAUD this restaurant and the level of customer service I was given this morning regarding a delivery order. Selena, I hope I'm spelling your name correctly, because you are amazing! Thank you for your excellent communication and attention to my requests. I have always been a huge fan of the Marietta Square location, because 1. authentic French pastries, YES and 2. I can walk to it from my loft! So when the executives in my Alpharetta office asked for a light lunch for a meeting and I discovered that y'all also have a Roswell location, ordering from your company was a no-brainer! But then the excellent level of customer service and follow-through just really solidified that I am a fan for life. Thank you, Douceur de France - Roswell, for taking care of my order with excellence and treating me like a valuable client. Y'all are awesome!

Decided to give it another try, since I missed the old bakery. Unfortunately, I was still disappointed. Something was wrong with the plain croissants. They were not brown; they were very blond if not white, and they had a strange almost sour taste to them. They were not so good. I also tried an apricot bourdaloue tart, which they made with pistachios instead of almond paste. However, pistachios have a much milder flavor than almonds and did not impart the pastry with the flavor it should have. Very sad!

New owners have stripped this place of its charm. I started going here when I was nine and it was MY place. I went for every birthday and special occasion until it was sold and changed a few years back. Since, the quality of everything from the food to the service has tanked and Im giving up on it (after giving it several chances) For those who try it anyways- the Frenchie sandwich is usually good as is the tiramisu. I'd avoid any espresso coffees or eggs though. Wish it would go back to the delicious, reliable, and cozy version it was.

Great French food, but sadly the service is also definitely French. Their omlettes are delicious. I wish there was a little more ambiance.

This use to be one of favorites sadly. Most of the menu has been simplified and altered. My favorite on the go sandwich was the Frenchie which was simple with just Brie, butter and tomato's but it's been swapped out with the Italian.. which for a French restaurant is a bit odd. The soups we loved are gone also and no longer do they have freezer meals that are not quiche. Overall the taste has gone down too. I know they changed management but they made a lot of changes including recipes. The baguettes still taste the same but they also no longer sell Brie to go with it. When we dined in my boyfriend got the eggs Benedict and I got the omelette but the Hollandaise sauce on both was separated and had an odd taste. Overall just sad since this use to be on of my fav spots.

Met a friend here for lunch. It's been a while since I've eaten here since moving from Roswell, and I remember this quaint little bistro with great "French" food. Sadly, not so anymore. Having to order at the counter was a pain and when the food was delivered it was practically thrown onto the table. The chicken on my chicken panini was dry, the same chicken strips one can buy precooked from the supermarket. The bread was not fresh, hard and chewy. My companion made no comment on her quiche of the day which is very telling! The next time I meet someone for lunch in the Roswell area, it won't be here.

Great brunch place with a variety of choices. We ordered the cheese omelet, tomato basil soup and French toast. Generous portion size Everything was delicious Service was spot on with servers constantly clearing empty plates from the table. Highly recommended and definitely coming back to try other items in the menu.

Hands down the very best authentic French bakery and cafe there is for Roswell! Fresh baked daily is so hard to find these days. The folks that work and run the place are the sweetest. We've been coming here for years and love this place!

All I'm gonna say is I found the cake for my upcoming birthday! This was DELICIOUS! I could taste the 'homemade' and was well worth the money spent (which I think was around $32 or so). Fed my staff of 7 and still had leftovers, which I was pleased with. The staff member assisting me was very sweet and patient despite the growing line of customers. Looking forward to trying other menu items!

My friend and I had not been to Douceur de France in a long time, as it had been closed when we wanted to before. We were really excited to get back there and have a wonderful lunch and were hit with so many changes. There is no one to take your order, you must go to the front and give them your order and pay at the same time. Our favorite dish WAS the chicken pot pie, with a wonderful light flaky puff pastry crust. The portion was so much smaller, the crust was hard as shoe leather and hard, almost inedible, and the cost was around ten dollars and now it is sixteen. We both were so disappointed and I can't imagine feeling excited to go back, and if we do, will not be ordering the once indescribably delicious pot pie.

The food is amazing. The service is top notch! Highly recommend it, especially the almond croissant and the beef borgignon!

We have visited this cafe since it opened and over the years it has been my go to for pastries and cakes for any special occassions. Besides the taste the chocolate decorations were outstanding and always impressed the guests or as a gift. Imagine my surprise that when I picked up a chocolate lover's cake as a birthday cake and opened the box and found not the usual fancy lace rose and decorations but a clump of strawberries! It looked cheap and definetly worth the money I paid for it. In an Instagram world, I would think that the new owners would try harder. After calling them, they did fix the top with a chocolate ribbon but not the same as it use to be and what I expected. The counter staff were very nice and did their best. Oh how I miss the jewel Douceur de France once was --an authentic French restaurant and bakery. The managers and staff were professional, invested, and quite pleasant. Some of the bakery and menu items are still tasty and perhaps authentically French, others are not. For example, I ordered my regular, Croque Monsieur, and it was made with a bread similar to the texture and thickness of focaccia. (I was told the new owner is Italian.) The cookies have been Americanized --giant in size. Whole Food's tiramisu is better than the one I got today. Tiramisu is an Italian dessert. While there are still many delicious foods that will probably bring me back, I cringe dealing with the unprofessional, hourly-pay mentality of the staff. I've been disappointed every visit since the it was sold to new ownership. On my first visit after the change, I was directed by the "Manager" to step back from the refrigerated pastry display. I was looking to select items for purchase, but the only person working the front was more interested in sprayed the case with glass cleaner and wiping it clean. After she offered to help. The two customers who came in after me, witnessed the whole thing, looked my way and rolled their eyes. I usually come late afternoon, post lunch shift, and there seems to only be one person in the front. Today, the person behind the counter got aggravated when I asked for larger bags after seeing the small bags with two croissants in each wouldn't stay closed. I explained, they were gifts for two different people and I didn't want to leave the bag open overnight. She then got a thick plastic ziplock type bag and attempted to squash the first beautiful oversize croissant into it... and it digressed from there. Before I left, she got defensive after I apologized thinking perhaps I hadn't made it clear the croissants were gifts. "Oh, you made it clear. You said you wanted separate bags because they were a gift, but when the bags would 't close, you wanted something else... but not the plastic bag... " and then she went into lecture mode, ending with the most disingenuous and sarcastic send off, "You have a nice the rest of your day." Sadly, I have to have yet to experience anyone working the cashier position prioritize the customer service or be pleasant.

We bought a Buche de Noel, which is supposed to be a "A Christmas dessert consisting of a sheet of sponge cake that is layered with a cream filling, rolled up, frosted, and decorated to look like a yule log." My French family was really put off when we cut into the log to find that this "cake" had , maybe, a 1/4 inch layer of cake at the bottom, and that the rest of 3" tall log was just frosting. Nobody ate more than a bite. I understand that this bakery recently changed hands. Apparently the new owners didn't maintain the prior's recipes.

My husband and I went to this place yesterday: a truly gem! Not only the food was tasty, nice dessert, but the atmosphere itself was great! Place is calm, not noisy and service is kind. I will definitely come back! I had the salmon tartine with hash browns

Wonderful food and people! They are so great. Sitting outside is the best and it's quiet and not super busy on Saturdays like other breakfast places.

We have been to the Roswell location many times and have always had fabulous service and the food is wonderful. Everything here is clean, tidy and smoothly run. Highly suggest!

Excellent food, service, and ambiance. Our family enjoys coming for brunch, coffee, and dessert. The staff is always attentive to our needs having small children. The food is always delicious. A taste of France on this side of the pond!

Great Food! The atmosphere is honestly very calming and not hectic, all the employees are friendly and nice. One server named 'Des', the sweetest soul and great service, always so helpful.

I've been eating at Douceur for years, and I'm so disappointed in the new owners and the odd changes they've made. The decor and look definitely needed some refreshing, which they've done, and I was excited to see. However, the other changes have cheapened what was a cozy little local restaurant. The specials board and all the daily specials have removed. The menu has been reduced by about a third. The delicious beef bourguignon has been taken off the menu. The full service experience is gone. You now have to stand in line at their very small and crowded counter to order your food, then wait for it to be brought to you. A couple of new plants and pictures don't make up for the reduction in food and service. I can go stand in line for a ham and cheese sandwich anywhere. Sorry to say goodbye to what was a nice, simple little French bistro, and now might as well be a McAlester's.

We come here when we want to experience life and return to France for a few moments. We love the ambiance, the service and of course the delish food. OMG, the tomato bisque and the Grown Up Grilled Cheese...dear Lord...Thank you Thank you. Try today to take yourself to the 4th Dimension!!!

Always loved this place but not same ambiance and food as in the past. Today I ordered the Avocado tartin but it was really Avocado toast. This was very good but didn't like it was presented wrong on menus. Breads, dishes, pastries always wonderful no matter if a bit changed.

I am torn writing this review. Been coming here for about six years. And the food and service has always been great. So I know they are under new ownership and maybe they are working the kinks out still but the service I experienced was subpar. And the food seems to have changed(like they changed the quality of the ingredients) I got here Saturday at 830am and order some croissants and the croque madam and another sandwich. I was given my croissants and was told my sandwiches will be ready shortly. After about 20 minutes of waiting and seeing other people come in and place to go orders and getting their food. I tried to get a hold of one of the people at the counter. But at this point they had so many customers I could not. Finally after another 20min. I finally got someone's attention and asked about my food. And it was immediately brought out. I get to the car and the hot sandwich was cold. I assume it was made hot and fresh. But just sat there in the back after it was made. The entire time I waited not a single employee asked me if I was waiting on anything or needed help. I will give them another try next month. And hope things are better

It was kind of a bummer. We had pastries to go and the front was so slow. It was packed but they were working so leisurely as if no one was waiting. We got beignets, opera cake, cougar and a regular croissant. Beignet was amazing. Very chewy. Better than cafe dumont. Opera cake and cougar were okay, good but nothing fantastic. Croissant was very stale. It was obviously old and I'm surprised they're willing to sell something that old. We were very disappointed. 3 Gryffindor points out of 10

I have given the owners three visits as I know they have to "iron" a few things out. I have been frequenting this restaurant for many years. My go to was always Eggs Benedict with spinach no meat for breakfast and quiche with tomato soup for lunch. This last visit almost everything was perfect for breakfast. While the hollandaise sauce changed its delicious as well as the potatoes. The hash browns are a bit dry so I tried the potatoes and they did not disappoint. My husbands croissant egg sandwich was up to par, fresh and worthy. He did ask for avocado and did not get nor did he want tomato which he did so....

Best almond chocolate croissant I had ever!!! this is a must visit place if you like French pastries and desserts. Authentic taste and nice ambiance... they also have lunch and breakfast menu but I was so full with dessert so couldn't try but I going to visit again to try their lunch menu...a cafe place you do not want to miss

Me wife and I visited this eatery the very next day, not because lack the interest of trying someplace different but because we were not able to find a free parking spot at the restaurant we wanted to visit nearby. Along that line, this cafe-like eatery (closes at 5:00pm) looks like a smallish older style single store building with a easily missed driveway entrance to its private parking with a tight row of parking along the edge that belies the big parking lot in the back. I particular appreciate the well mark spacious parking spaces. It was a warm cloudy day but it's outdoor covered seating was almost full. However, like the day before, there were more than adequate seating in its cozy dining room. Many intimate tables for two. There seems to be way more pastry choice than lunch entrees, but it was lunch time for us. Some day we want to be back for coffee and pastry. This time, I had the broccoli quiche with roasted potatoes (first side dish choice the cashier rattled out) and my wife had the chicken pot pie. Still loved the simple yet pleasant ambience with soft French vocal music in the background, but chicken pot pie even with a golden puff pastry top crust didn't wow me like their Smoked Salmon Tartine. So today's review reflects of our choice of dishes, the service, facilities and ambience. Did I mentioned that they give each table at least one 1-litre bottle of iced water with an attached cap. I think I saw a reviewer mentioned they were treated like family, just as I witnessed how a wonderful lady chatted warmly with a female customer dining alone, personally greeted two couples and escorted them to a suitable table. She, like all the other ladies who work there during lunch pitched in on whatever task needed to get their guest comfortably seated. The staff behaves like they are the proud owners of the cafe instead of part-time employees. There's feeling that their staff truly enjoys dishing out their friendly hospitality, which is a good thing to feel for diners. I actually observed this particular lady hummed and did a little dance while waiting to encore them to a table. My wife and I were visiting family from out-of-town for almost two weeks and took the opportunity to seek out eateries with authentic food while the rest of the family (with small children) were otherwise occupied. 4 great meals plus two Ok. No bad at all.

Nope! I went to the restaurant that I have frequented since my wife and I got together and instantly felt it was off. No more servers. And their food was middling at best. To make matters worse I just found out via yelp about the new owners. The menu is reduced and less selection in the bakery. So sad. Not going back! Bye

Warm welcoming environment. All the servers are very attentive and helpful! The food is amazing , the coffee is delicious and we always leave with extra goodies to take home! I'm so happy this place is close to where we live. My daughter who is two years old is always greeted with such kindness and we love this restaurant for our monthly lunch out! Thank you!

Food was good can't complain a little crowded small space, would go back again. Had the coffee don't recommend added half/half (unless your by available restroom) but overall food was on point.
