Google
Dough & Arrow have the absolute most delicious cookies! They are bigger than my hand, soft and chewy, and come in a huge variety of unique flavors. I’ve tried almost all of them, and there hasn’t been one that I didn’t like. Their lattes are pretty, but for some reason they give me a stomach ache every time. I don’t have any dairy issues, but they are extra thick and creamy. Yesterday I had the cookies and cream latte and it had a thick layer of some cookie foam on top, which when mixed in made the drink super thick. I’ll just stick to the cookies next time. Those make my stomach happy🤣

The shop is very cute! There are many photo spots for kids and adults. My server was exceptionally welcoming. She welcomed every customer right when they enter (didn’t see this often with these days restaurant). Drinks and cookies are great! Definitely very sweet but I guess that’s what they’re known for.

Google
The cookies are extremely yummy and really soft. The cookies are big or even bigger than the Costco cookies. It has a lot of sugar and calories. There are lots of flavors and options to choose. The Have displayed all cookies to see and order it. Then they get the fresh cookies from the kitchen. The drinks are not that great. I am not a coffee person, so I can’t completely review it. There are many options available on the board, but most of them are out of stock. They did not have the milk carton style coffee cup too. A good place to try. Do we go again? I think so, but not in the near future.

Google
My daughter and I went here because we like to try new things. We were a bit disappointed. I got the Vanilla Latte and she got the London Fog Tea. My latte was okay, the coffee was weak and so it made the mik overpowering. Her tea had too much milk in it, and even after waiting 10 minutes, the one tea bag couldn't deliver on the flavor that Earl Grey has to give. The cookies were good, but too sweet. I got the Adult Chocolate Chip and she got the Creme Brulee. While being bakers ourselves probably skewed our opinions, the cookies weren't worth the $5-6 we paid for each. There's plenty of parking, including handicapped accessible spaces, as it's in a small shopping center. The site is clean and neat with some seating options, and would be a fun place to take your kids. They are credit card only, no cash. The staff is very helpful and nice. All in all, it wasn't a bad experience, and I'll probably give them another try.

Google
Yummy yummy cookie place!! Very rich cookies where your teeth will be hurting but your tongue will be pleased! When you walk in, the decoration is so nice and unique! They have a cookie statue to take pics with as well (and a nicely painted wall). I ordered the Reeses cookie (blanking on the name but it had peanut butter and chocolate meshed together) and it was soooo good!!!

Google
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! I’m a Cookie Monster, my all time favorite bite of food in the world and these were incredible!! I was so impressed. And the prices are fair, staff was friendly, and the cookies were some of the best I’ve ever had!! And, going late at night I thought they’d have the out of most things or they wouldn’t be as good because they’d sit out all day, but no, they were baking them fresh and had everything!

Google
The size of these cookies is bigger than my hand! I got the creme brûlée cookie and it was fire! Heated it up a bit and it was crispy on top and soft in the middle. I also got the adult chocolate chip and that was a little too sweet for my taste but still good with some black coffee. All in all, some very interesting flavors that I would come try more of if I were nearby

Yelp
An absolute favorite over the years and a must every time I visit my wonderful Mother on this fabulous island. I always have to get a sampler box of the many delicious treats because choosing the best of the best is nearly impossible. The cinnamon roll is a must have. There is surely something for everyone at this cute and friendly sweet shop. Looking forward to this visit for Mother's Day and the first step into this little slice of heaven.

Yelp
Add this to your list of must-visit businesses on Balboa Island. Balboa Island Baking Co. is the cutest storefront on the block. While it can only fit three people inside at a time, it's the perfect spot for a grab and go order. The bakery is well known for their cinnamon rolls, muffins, cookies, scones, and gluten free baked goods. I've had the opportunity to try both their blueberry scone and blueberry muffin. Both items were fresh out of the oven and still warm! The perfect morning treat when strolling the island and its happenings. They even have freshly baked treats for your pup!

Yelp
The Early Bird Catches the Worm...In this case The Early Bird Scores the Warm, Heathy, Multi-Grain Cookie!

Yelp
Ok this was a pretty solid cinnamon roll - super gooey and delicious in every bite. That said, I'm not sure I'd make the drive back out to Balboa Island just for it because the parking situation was a nightmare. If you're already visiting the area though, definitely stop by! It's a great spot for anyone with a sweet tooth. I got there a few minutes before closing and luckily they still had a few cinnamon rolls left.

Yelp
Took a class madie is a great teacher and now I'm a good cook. Came home with cinnamon rolls and scones.

Yelp
Awesome little bakery on Balboa Island. Whether you like savory or sweet treats you'll find something yummy. The owner/baker I believe is Missy. It's a small place with high demand so make sure you get there early as they can sell out of things. Check it out!

Mary O.

Yelp
Really impressed with this place. The cinnamon rolls are soft, fresh, and have a nice balance of cinnamon and sweetness. The icing is smooth and not too overpowering, which I appreciated. You can tell everything's made with care, and the quality is consistent. It's a great spot to grab a treat or bring something special home. Definitely one of the better cinnamon rolls I've had!
google avatar

Courtney L.

Yelp
The cinnamon roll was soft and good with just the right amount of icing. It has hit a tie with my favorite cinnamon roll of all time! The cheddar bacon scones and cowboy cookie were a hit as well. The cookie is not overly sweet and I loved the texture. Everything looked delicious! We also got an almond poppyseed muffin to try later. They are my favorite muffins and I can't find them anywhere so I was excited to see they make them.

Yelp
Soooooooooo FRESH. Sadly, I think this place gets overlooked by the other options for sweets on the island; like the candy store, banana stands, and frozen yogurt shop. We grabbed a bag of cinnamon rolls and a chocolate chip cookie. The chocolate chip cookie was my favorite. It was so fresh and moist. Gooey in the center with a little crunch on the corners. So yummy!!! And the ratio of chocolate chips in the cookie was perfect! Not too much and not too little. Super gooey and chocolatey! The bag of cinnamon rolls were gone pretty quick too lol Don't forget to dip in the icing! That makes it perfect. The icing was warm and fresh. The cinnamon rolls have lots of cinnamon too! Super good. We will definitely be back to this bakery! The baked goods are the best!!!!

Katie R.

Yelp
So delicious l!! The gluten free pastries were so fluffy like clouds. Always amazing to find a GF option that tastes so good.

Yelp
Experience: Walked over on a Sunday morning to get a pecan roll, we had tasted one from a friend the day before and wanted to return to get one for ourselves. Tiny little shop, really cute, old school vibes. Maybe only three-four people can fit inside the actual store. Food: We snagged a pecan roll. Really fresh, tasty, and the ingredients shone through. Service: The two women working that morning were kind. Price was steep for a roll. I think with tax it came out to almost ten for one roll. Verdict: Worth a visit if you are on Balboa.

Yelp
Disappointed with expensive ($6 each) croissants. Made the mistake of asking for a slightly warmed croissant which was heated in a microwave, changing the hopefully flaky structure into a gooey unappetizing mound. Unfortunately, the server was perhaps only to happy to oblige without realizing what effects microwaving has on pastries and/or failing to tell the customer that the croissant would be microwaved. A friendly little place but not one to which I'll return for croissants, warmed or room temperature.

Yelp
Million stars if I could. The Pecan roll I just had....perfection. I'm so upset I didn't get 2....... Quality ingredients. Friendly, welcoming staff. Cant wait to go back !

Yelp
What a cute bakery!! Perfect location and such sweet staff! Looking forward to my next visit already.

Yelp
the cutest bakery on the island to ever exist! this is my new go to spot after the newport boat parade held every christmas! they make the best hot chocolate and cinnamon rolls here. hours are extended during the week of the parade which is very nice. vibes here are immaculate, and the owners are so kind!

Kristen N.

Yelp
Way too expensive for the quality. a few years ago I came here and had an amazing muffin now the price has increased substantially and the quality has decreased. I believe with new owners. I got a blueberry muffin for six dollars almost no blueberries and totally dried out.
google avatar

Lindsley L.

Yelp
I wanted to love this because I want this little ship to do well but the scones are so dry. And the breakfast cookie is a hockey puck. I needed so much water just to get it down. The pecan bites were really good though

Nourhan H.

Yelp
Croissants Not freshly baked :( also overpriced which made me disappointed that it wasn't fresh...

Yelp
We stopped by the bakery this morning, looking for some yummy pastries and were blown away! It was SO good!! We got a cinnamon roll and the bacon cheese & chive scone, and honestly, they were the best baked goods we've had in a long time! We will definitely be coming back for more. Awesome spot to visit when you are near Bolboa Island!

Yelp
Balboa Island Baking Co. is a cute little bakery in Newport Beach. My friend who is a local actually told me about it. Their GIANT CINNAMON ROLLS are amazing! If I'm in the area, I'm going to definitely drop by and make sure I get a haul. Their pecan rolls look really good too, so I'm going to have to try them out next time. Since they have a variety of everything, from cinnamon rolls to pecan rolls, to large stuffed and sugar cookies, sweet and savory scones, as well as seasonal treats, there is something for every sweet tooth... I definitely have a sweet tooth for sure! By the way, they're only open Wed-Sun, and closed Mon and Tues so keep that in mind when you are planning to drop by. Happy eating and stay safe!

Deependra C.

Yelp
Amazing and cute hidden local gem! Have tried both their famous cinnamon rolls and snickerdoodle cookies - both incredibly delicious. Courteous staff and Maddy is awesome!
google avatar

Neen M.

Yelp
The cinnamon.rolls.though!!!!!! Wows! It's the kind where you don't mind eating the outer edges because every bite is delicious. It's a must, you won't be disappointed. This place is walk in small (literally like max 2 people can fit when ordering) my only wish is they had some type of seating area but obviously the space cannot accommodate.
google avatar

Gabriella D.

Yelp
The homemade cinnamon rolls here are AMAZING and the staff is the sweetest! Definitely recommend!
google avatar

Karis K.

Yelp
The cinnamon roll was soft and had the perfect amount of frosting. The sugar cookies were too cute and delicious! Would definitely come back to try new items and visit the friendly staff again!

Cathy W.

Yelp
Used to have great cinnamon and pecan rolls, but they are now ALWAYS out of pecan. They say it's so they don't have waste at end of day, but poor management! They always have the cinnamon...I've started going to another local bakery for both, and it's a hassle as I live on the island! The old cinnamon rolls were also better...almost seem doughy now? Too bad, hoping they get it together.
google avatar

Yelp
Very cute spot in Balboa Island! Made an impromptu stop while strolling downtown and grabbed a Chocolate Chip Cookie. It was delicious - Just the fluffy texture that I like in a cookie with ample chocolate chips. It's a good thing we don't have a place like this in Alhambra or else I would be eating their cookies everyday.
google avatar

Tomas A.

Yelp
The cinnamon rolls were off the hook. Unbelievable great taste. I drive from San Diego area just to buy those pecan cinnamon rolls always
google avatar

Matthew G.

Yelp
Don't go! The Cinnamon Rolls are addicting and amazing! This will cause problems and you will love this problem.

Dave F.

Yelp
Great scones and great people. Always stop here when visiting Balboa Island. Quality and service are consistently excellent.

Reann N.

Yelp
Simply the best! Cinnamon roll is a MUST- truly the best cinnamon roll I've ever had. Always freshly baked & you get to choose how much icing they top it with. They have amazing gluten-free baked goods as well! We love this spot so much we decided to order our Thanksgiving pie from them & it did not disappoint

Yelp
Over the years, this bakery has exchanged hands many times. I have wonderful associations with being on Balboa Island and enjoying pecan rolls, particularly after runs in the Back Bay. Through owners, I've always been grateful that they have all maintained offering pecan (and cinnamon) rolls. These rolls (August 2021) are larger than others, and less sweet. My son remarked that some bites were almost spicy because of the intensity of the cinnamon. Maybe not for everyone, but I did appreciate this tweak. However with size came less gooey-ness and more bites that were just dry dough. I would prefer a smaller, moister, more gooey roll. However if size is what you're after, and you don't like sweet pecan rolls, than these might be the rolls for you. I also ordered an iced coffee. With the departure of Starbucks from the island, the choices are slim for iced coffee. It was OK. Nothing bad, nothing great. It could have been a lot worse! The establishment appears to be somewhat anti-mask and anti-mandates. The employees were not wearing masks (not currently mandated at the time, but recommended by the CDC because of the recent uptick in cases and Delta variant). And there were multiple signs/stickers making it clear that they were against mandates, and believe that "faith over fear" will protect them. I will be taking my business elsewhere in the future, for the sake of my own safety. If the pecan rolls were better, maybe it would be worth the risk. But alas this generation is not worth the calories or infection risk.

Lindsay M.

Yelp
Yummiest cinnamon rolls, great almond poppyseed muffins, and their oatmeal chocolate chip cookie was chewy and delicious. Will definitely be coming back soon!
google avatar

Jennifer S.

Yelp
The service with an island greeting and smiles and awesome cinnamon rolls and cookies. Everyone enjoyed their treats!
google avatar

Dan O.

Yelp
Best bakery around. Cinnamon rolls, pecan sticky bun and blueberry muffins are all fabulous. Chef Maddie is delightful and extremely talented. We travelled all the way from Orange and will definitely be back.
google avatar

Katy J.

Yelp
The cutest little bakery around with the best cinnamon rolls you'll ever taste! I love the Cowboy cookie as well. My cousins live in Orange, and when I am visiting - we take a special trip down to walk along Balboa to enjoy a cinnamon roll. I love their new hours and I am so glad that even with the new ownership - they kept the old recipe!
google avatar

John S.

Yelp
No pictures cause it couldn't wait but chocolate toffee cookie was a 10 out 10! Warm out of oven and so good. Worth a bit of tongue scorch! Tip: get here early as some items go fast!
google avatar

Marilyn Y.

Yelp
Holy mother of sweet baby Jesus is this bakery IT! Whenever I explore a new city, I try to find the a local bakery. This place is legit! We got a full box of yummy: the cinnamon rolls were some of the best I have EVER eaten, the scones like no others, the savory scone the literal best I have ever eaten. Go here and get it all! The owner is a doll too and so fun to talk to.
google avatar

Rachael S.

Yelp
Parking is a hassle here due to the location, but it's a small price to pay for how good the bakery is. Today was my first time at Balboa Island Baking Company, but I will definitely be going back. The shop is tiny but the baked goods are huge and the staff is warm and welcoming (family owned I'm assuming?) I ordered a cheddar, bacon and egg scone, which was insanely delicious. I also ordered two of their huge stuffed cookies (m&m and toffee) and was lucky enough to snag their last giant pecan cinnamon roll. Hands down, BEST CINNAMON ROLL I'VE EVER HAD. The regular frosting was already good, but do yourself a favor and spring for the pumpkin frosting too because it took it to another level. I'm still too full from that behemoth of a cinnamon roll to try the cookies just yet, but they certainly do look tasty!

Will D.

Yelp
Best cinnamon rolls in OC!! This place is so cute and the owners are so sweet (pun intended). Don't forget to try their other pastries!!
google avatar

Terry S.

Yelp
Cinnamon rolls are delicious!!!! A must-go to on Balboa Island!!!! The staff is lovely!!!! Maddie, the owner/baker is killing it

Ryan W.

Yelp
I was fortunate enough to buy their last gluten free pumpkin loaf and blueberry loaf on the day that they sold them for the first time. They were both moist & delicious and I highly recommend either one of them!!!

Ruben J.

Yelp
Pecan rolls are just as good as ever. Still my favorite place to stop for sweets on Balboa. The new owners seem to be doing a great job, I'm really excited to go back and try some of their new items! Everything looked great.

Ryan V.

Yelp
Perfectly baked and fresh! Loved the cinnamon roll and bacon egg and cheese chive scone! Awesome friendly customer service as well.
google avatar

Todd L.

Yelp
Great cinnamon rolls and friendly staff! I really missed Cinnamon Roll Fair when it changed owners a few years ago and Blue Chair wasn't all that great. Glad it's in new hands again. Now hopefully they bring back the cinnamon and chocolate twists that Cinnamon Roll Fair used to make, those were amazing!!
google avatar

Shayna S.

Yelp
Great customer service! Maddie was so welcoming and a pleasant to talk too. If you ever get a chance stop on by and don't forget to get a cinnamon roll!!
google avatar

Kayla F.

Yelp
They're pumpkin bread and cinnamon rolls are amazing!!! everything in the store is so fresh and handmade and I can't wait to try all of the pastries
google avatar

Nathan P.

Yelp
I have very little self control when it comes to breakfast pastries, so I got a plethora of items from this quaint bakery on Balboa Island. The Cinnamon Rolls are on point and they will give you extra frosting at request. Their scones are fantastic with the lemon poppyseed being the fan favorite. The muffins are giant and have the perfect combo of richness and fluffiness. Finally, if you need to choose a cookie, crazy enough the GF Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookie was flippin fantastic. Completely worth a ferry ride or finding a parking spot and grabbing some goodies.
google avatar

Marie D.

Yelp
We went on the 3rd of July and the line was long and moved pretty slowly, but it was absolutely worth it! I got a pecan sticky bun and it was amazing, way too big to finish though!
google avatar

Ken C.

Yelp
Lot of their pastries are good. But the price increased so much from $3 something to $4 when changed of new ownership but now pastries increased by a dollar each, way too much increased for a piece. There's a lot of fancy and very good bakery such as C'est Si Bon and Rose Bakery in the area. Balboa Island bakery should be competetive with these bakery. Way too much increased for a piece of pastry.
