Dough Boys Pizza Hilton Head

Delicious food! Huge slices of pizza!! We had the Coco Hawaiian, Doug’s Big Elvis, garlic knots, and large Greek salad. One slice of pizza was like two from other places. The Hawaiian was super fresh as was the Greek salad. It was finely chopped and amazing!!

Maybe it is just me. My sister from Colorado was visiting and we just had to treat her to some fantastic pizza. I reckon I have visited Dough Boys pizza once a year for at least the last 10 years. My bride and I come down to Hilton Head for our anniversary every September. Dough Boys to me is the standard bearer for delicious pizza in the Carolinas. Until this visit. Let’s start with the good news: Our server, Kenzie was quick to greet us, very friendly and efficient. Even though Dough Boys does a brisk take-out business, Kenzie arrived at out table within a minute of us seating ourselves to greet us and take our drink orders. We had just finished a 90 minute dolphin cruise tour to show my sister the sights of the harbor and take in a few dolphin sightings. I was thirsty and ready for a brew. Kenzie informed us no wine or beer was available. Dough Boys was under new ownership and the new liquor license had not come in yet. Maybe it was my imagination, but I took this information with a little bit of concern. Even though I had come to trust Dough Boys over the years, I always read recent reviews of a restaurant I am visiting, and I had read a couple of reviews that expressed some unhappiness with their recent experiences. We ordered a half Boardwalk and a Spring Break Jake (I’m very familiar with this combo), a Coco’s Hawaiian, and a Calzone, The Bomb. The caution flag definitely came out when after ordering, Kenzie appeared to say one ingredient, the shaved ribeye of The Bomb, the Calzone, my spouse ordered, was not available. She instead ordered the Meatball calzone. I wrote that this place does a lot of takeout so I was prepared for a bit of a wait, but surprisingly, the two pizzas came out pretty fast. The Calzone appeared about 4-5 minutes later. The cheese side of the pizza looked just perfect, but The Boardwalk side seemed off. The Boardwalk is supposed to have two layers of pepperoni. Judging from the photo I posted, it seems like maybe one slice only got the double layer of pep. I eagerly helped myself to a slice of cheese and that’s when the Yellow Caution flag was replaced by the Red flag, essentially stopping, that is, halting, the dining experience for me. I felt like I had just had a heapin’ teaspoon of salt. The slice was so cheesy just like you want in a cheese pizza but, oh my, the salt. One of the reviews I read mentioned how salty the pizza is I forced myself to eat it and and then took a slice of the Hawaiian. This was thin crust and the dough was drooping under the weight of the ingredients. I was cautiously optimistic but guarded as I was wondering if this slice would prove to be very salty too. It almost was, not as much as my cheese slice, mind you, since that has a lot more cheese. The one cheese ingredient these two pizzas have in common is the House Cheese Blend. If you are watching your sodium intake, I urge extreme caution. My spouse told me her calzone was good but couldn’t find any meatballs. She did find shaved meat in her calzone. Ironically, it was the shaved ribeye that was missing in The Bomb calzone. I guess it was hiding in the Meatball calzone. Personally, I’d have rated the food experience just One Star. I seriously question whether I will eat the leftover cheese pizza. To be fair, both my wife, sister and son thought the food was good. Maybe it is just me, after all.

Very small area to eat inside the restaurant but it seems most people take to go. We had Kenzie as our server and she greeted us immediately with a warm welcome and smile. Great service and food was very very hot, fresh, and delicious. We got a large pizza and mozz stick. The large pizza did fill up my three kiddos, husband, and myself. I highly recommend!

We have gotten pizza several times from this place however, tonight, it was pretty much inedible. We ordered a mushroom pizza well done. What we got was a pizza with triple the amount of cheese, about 8 mushrooms in the entire pizza, no sauce and not well done. I don't know if they got new staff or what but it was not good. Won't be back.

Absolutely amazing pizza on hilton head! Definitely our go-to pizza spot, as they do not skimp on the toppings. We got the veggie pizza which was loaded with veggies, the buffalo wings, and the garlic knots. Also, the customer service is absolutely great. My husband ordered a sprite and accidentally left it on the counter, and they called us to let us know were left it there! When we went back, it was waiting for us right at the front counter. We will be back!

I’ve been visiting Hilton Head for as long as I can remember and have always been a loyal Giuseppe’s fan. Recently, I met the new owner of Dough Boys, John, who encouraged me to stop by and give it a try. I’m so glad I did. It did not disappoint. John served up some outstanding slices. We ordered the Hawaiian and a classic cheese pizza, and both were excellent. The crust, sauce, and flavor were all spot on. From now on, Dough Boys has earned my loyalty over amy other Hilton Head pizza place!

Pizza is okay, better than most on the island, still not New Haven standards. BUT! This cheesesteak is unmatched. It’s truly top notch. I’m positive it’s the best in the area. This cheese blend is incredible. The meat is perfectly sliced. It’s a masterpiece

If I could give less than 1 star I would! After waiting nearly 2 hours for our food part of our order was burnt absolutely black (garlic knots) inedible! I tried calling but could not get through. My advice don’t waste your money! I am sure better service and quality elsewhere!

Got a carry out from here so not much to say about service or the actual restaurant itself We got a pizza that had pep, meatballs, black olives, mushrooms, and banana peppers. It was delicious! Well cooked and plenty of quality toppings. I really liked the meatballs on it particularly.

Ok.....I loved my white pizza with spinach, pepperoni and sausage. Garlic knots yummy! My wife was not as happy with her red sauce pizza but still really good. Not my normal Ohio pizza but 10x better than any chain. Order to go! Do love the dough boys!

Very good pizza! We ordered early on a Wednesday evening, saying it would be done in 45 mins and it actually was done in about 20. Both pizzas were hot and tasty--we ordered well done and it was perfectly made. We will order from here again when we are back to visit. Service was friendly, the place has a few booths available for dine in, otherwise it appears to be primarily a pickup/ delivery place.

An oasis on HHI - we stayed on the island for a week, and this pizza was a highlight of our dinner plans. We've had their pizza numerous times over the years, and each time it's hit the spot. Thank you, Dough Boys!

Ordered from Dough boys for a last minute dinner. Hand tossed pizza was delicious, probably one of the best pizzas I've ever had. Cheesy bread was delicious also. And can't go wrong with the Greek salad. Delivery was quick. Online ordering was easy. Would definitely recommend n

Came here for a first ever pizza on HHI and got carry out. Hand tossed crust green peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms beef, ham and extra cheese. I placed the order online then drove over to pick it up. Much to my surprise when I arrived it was ready far faster than the stated time. I picked it up and returned . After unloading it from the back of the SUV it was wet on the cargo mat. I'm going to say it was under cooked because it was really really good pizza. But, it could have used 2-3 more minutes in the oven to dry it up some. I'm betting tomorrow it will be even better. But still really good.

After thorough research on pizza options on Hilton Head, we decided we would either go with Local for Napolese pizza, Fat Baby's for NY style, or Dough Boys for a hand tossed American pizza. We landed on Dough Boy's and I'm so glad we did! The hand crust meat pizza was great and the thin crust veggie was everything I'd dreamed it could be! We were able to pick it up in only 25 minutes tho. Restaurant was fun inside! We would definitely recommend Dough Boys.

After driving most of the day from western North Carolina to Hilton Head Island finding this little pizza joint was a godsend. We arrived at the restaurant late afternoon and was a little surprised to see that the dining area was rather small, fortunately there was one table available so we grabbed it after squeezing past a few of the other customers already enjoying their food. Our server "Dough Girl P" greeted up immediately with a big smile and a few menus, we ordered our drinks and scanned the menu, we had both been looking forward to grabbing a pizza since leaving home more than a week ago. There are lots of options here but we decided to stick to the mission and ordered a 18" thin crust with pepperoni, sausage, green olives and I add jalapeños on half of it. This pizza shop definitely has a great take-out business, it seemed like the door never stayed closed for more than a minute or two and the kitchen was dealing out the food at an unbelievable pace and I never saw anyone walk in and wait on their order. Our pizza arrived in a reasonable amount of time and our server had already checked on us twice before the food arrived, setting up the pizza rack, giving us tableware and refilling our drinks. The pizza arrived piping hot and crispy, the pizza had an abundance of toppings including plenty of stretchy cheese, all the tables have a great selection of condiments including grated cheese, red pepper flakes, garlic powder and salt and pepper. Absolutely no complaints here, the service was exceptional and the pizza was amazing it's no wonder this place stays filled and the takeout is relentless, these guys are busy and working hard but they seem to handle it well - I did notice a continuous rumble coming from the kitchen and it was so consistent I had to ask - it's the gas fired ovens which makes total sense after she told us. There seems to be lots of pizza options on the island but I'm confident we made the right choice this place is doing it right...

This pizza was better than expected and we all liked it better than Guiseppe which is a staple here in HH.'s The onions were thinly sliced and the dough was very nice and chewy. Will order again.

Dough Boys Bluffton - ordered a build your own large hand tossed pizza. We loved the pizza and also the garlic knots! There is a decadent desert case near the front door and bar. Hard to resist and I won't next time! Cute place- nothing pretentious or glitzy but warm and casual. This time was take out - easy to order online or call in. We will be back :)

We picked up two pizzas to go. A mushroom and spinach, pizza, and a meat lovers type pizza. Also got a single order of baked ziti. The pizzas were prepared perfectly with plenty of toppings and not a giant crust. The ziti had several type cheeses in it and was great to share between four people with the pizza.the pizzas were prepared partially cooked so we could cook them later (5 minutes 425) in the evening after having cocktails. Highly recommend this place and place the order by phone if you want to sub different toppings or have questions. I believe all their food is calorie free

The service was FANTASTIC, but the food left us wanting. My wife and I started with a caesar salad which we enjoyed, but the pizza we ordered had almost no sauce on it. What little sauce there was, was not incredible either.

Believe all the good reviews, the pizza here is FANTASTIC. Coming in town yo celebrate a birthday and one birthday request was " I want the best pizza in town". Searching the reviews, every article, Yelper and local said Doughboys. They were not wrong. Service? No idea, we went to their website and ordered in line. Parking? Ditto But what about the food? Build your own pizza - pepperoni, onions and jalapeño. Did not try it, but the onion/Jalapeños in our group loved it. White Pizza - good, really good and well proportioned, so that means not over cheesed. Cheeseburger Pizza - OMG! This is so good, we could not order enough, it really was that DELICIOUS. Delivery order was easy, and cheaper using a food deliver app. They deliver it themselves and they said it was between 60-85 minutes, but it only took 35-40 minutes for our deliver

Very good, authentic pizza. We tried Dough Boys for the first time. The hand tossed pizza was very good. We ordered carry out. The pizza was ready on time and the staff was friendly and quick. The interior was ok, but it seems that this location is really oriented toward carry out and delivery. We also ordered a large chopped salad that covered us for four servings. It was flavorful and the ingredients were fresh. We plan to go back and try other menu items. If you have leftover pizza and you don't want to heat up the oven (and you don't have a toaster oven), I recommend microwaving for 15-20 seconds and then laying on top of regular toaster and turning on for about a minute or two. Don't do this if there is a lot of cheese or grease on pizza.

The Dough Boys in Hilton Head is perfection. It's my go-to place for pizza and a greek salad. There's just something magical about their Pizza and chopped salad. My experience at the Bluffton restaurant was not as good (pizza was great - salad didn't have any Kalamata Olives because they were out - a Greek salad without Kalamata olives is ... not great) - but I have a rule, if any restaurant doesn't get it right the first time I always go back. Every place has an off night - and this place is still new so I'm sure there are a few things that need to be shaken out. I'm sure it will be every bit as good as the Hilton Head location given a little time.

Amazing! First class service. 'Home of the Local Legends' They live up to the standard of pizza. Offering salad and sub sandwiches too. Hand tossed or thin crust. Made excellent selection with the *White Pizza* - Garlic, olive oil ricotta and house blend cheese. Add any toppings to create your own masterpiece. Be smart when ordering online for the best on the Island, it may take a while only because of how busy it can get!

Just had a large pizza from Dough Boys. It was delicious and be for I leave the island I will go back. Could not ask for nicer people. And if you pay cash you will get a discount. And maybe a discount on your next order.

After an 8+ hour day driving to get to HHI we didn't feel like cooking and wanted to try a different pizza place from the ones we usually get on the island. Unfortunately, Dough Boys was a bit disappointing. The price was good, but our pizza was cooked way too long leaving it tough to eat and burnt tasting.

Great family-owned takeout (and delivery!) pizza option on HHI. We called in our order early for a set pickup time, and I was pleased to find it ready right on time; it had not been sitting and getting cold. We opted for two specialty pies with hand tossed crusts - Ben's Banging Basil (pesto, chicken, tomato, red onion, cheese) and the Big Caruna (sweet onion, half sausage/half pepperoni, ricotta, cheese, red sauce). Both were delicious, but I'd say our favorite was the Big Caruna because it was such a unique and flavorful combination!

We love this pizza and get it at least one time each time we visit the island! Their chopped salads are amazing!

We popped in an ordered a Big Caruna pizza (half pepperoni and half sausage with onion, ricotta and red pepper flakes). We decided to eat at one of the picnic tables outside in front. A friendly server brought us water and silverware. Our pizza came out pretty quick-maybe 10 minutes-and the 12" was the perfect size for the two of us. I had a bit of a preference for the sausage side but both sides were good. The thin crust had a faint tanginess adding some extra flavor. This is not the best pizza on the island. Don't believe all the 4 and 5 star reviews. Go try local pie, fat baby's, or mellow mushroom. IMO, they rate higher.

It was a dark and stormy night. Ordered by phone. Staff member was patient and helpful. The pizza courier arrived with a welcome knock. Wings and pizza were good and the courier was polite and friendly. We got dinner without going out in the rain. Win/Win

Absolutely incredible. Had a pie of Ben's Banging Basil, chicken bacon ranch, and Doug's Big Elvis. Would recommend a side of buffalo sauce for the Chicken bacon ranch, but these pizzas were cooked perfectly with the correct amount of crisp in the crust. Highly recommend!

Yum. Yum. And yum. We got a gluten free veggie pizza. It was a great surprise! You hope when you order a gf pizza that it will be good and not taste like a gf pizza, right? This gf was amazing and we ordered one to go (which by the way, was still tasty heated up in the toaster oven later). E also got a chopped Greek salad. I guarantee that it was one of the best salads I've ever had! I can't wait to go back!

Placed an order tonight for delivery. Ordered small cheese pizza, meatballs app, meatball sub, mozzarella sticks, small bacon cheese fry and 3 Pepsi all for a whopping $73. I don't mind paying for good food however this was not the case here. We would have had a better meal at McDonalds. Food delivered cold and some not editable. The meatball sub was delivered wet. The bottom of the roll was soaked. More likely since the box wasn't vented so it was disgusting since wet. The meatball app came sitting on a bed of sopping wet lettuce. The cheese pizza looked like someone forgot it in the oven and the mozzarella sticks were ice cold and barely had the cheese melted. $73 down the drain. Had to toss and go elsewhere. Avoid at all cost. I don't know who is writing the positive reviews perhaps their workers or people who never ate before.

Read all the reviews re the cheeseburger pizza--decided to give it a try! IT WAS GREAT! Ordered a small thin crust. Had enough left over for lunch the next day. It was delicious & highly recommend. It even comes with pickles but yes, I added more pickles. Only cost $18. Also had a small Kim's veggie pizza with black olives-EXCELLENT! Easy call in with a short wait time to pick up. Go get them:)!

Once again great pizza! We had " Doug's Big Elvis " really good and filling. We would recommend highly to get a Dough Boys pizza you won't be sorry as it is worth the wait!

Would NOT, try them as friends went in and asked if they could have a thin crust. The owner said and I quote " if you want thin crust, go to HHI. Enough for me, there's enough decent pizza around ie. local pie, ralphies that you don't need to deal with that bs.

Great service. Food overall really good. Pizza and the ingredients tasted fresh. The crust on both traditional and thin were baked nicely. The buffalo sauce wings were a bit salty I wish I would have gone with another sauce. But they were cooked to perfection and were meaty. The chopped salad was excellent and a good healthy portion.

I had never heard about Dough Boys before, but am sure glad I found them! There's a ton of specialty pizzas like buffalo wing and BBQ chicken that spot on. Honestly, every pizza looked great. They're in the back lot of a strip mall with plenty of parking. Limited seating in front but it looked like they might have a second dining room. I got take out and it was relatively quick for a small pizza place. Can't wait to come back!

Pizza was great, service ugh. Spent $152 on a to go order.. left a $48 dollar tip and asked for a few extra ranch and was told I would have to pay extra. I didn't mind paying extra for them but he was super rude about it and not grateful about the generous tip we provided.

Best Garlic Knots we've ever had. Pizza very good too. A bit pricey but expected for the area.

Kind of an impromptu dinner here, as the place I intended to go to could not fit me in that night. So happy I stumbled upon this, it was amazing. They had outdoor seating and I was able to listen to my work phone call and enjoy my delicious dinner all at once. I got the Tommy's Best pizza and goodness gracious it was so, so, so good. We're not going to talk about how much of it I ate, but no regrets. If it wasn't so good, I wouldn't have eaten as much as I did. All the components played so well together, each bite was sublime. I'm salivating right now (pro tip, don't write Yelp reviews while hungry). Really worth it stopping by here, I would highly recommend it. If you're craving pizza, which I often am, this is the place to go.
