Dough Boys Virginia Beach Pizza

I was out exploring and ended up coming here. I’m glad I found this spot. I had the Cuban sammich and their seasoned fries. Captain Charlie was great. We had a wonderful conversation and everyone was very accommodating and attentive. I would have loved to try the pizza but I was on foot all day and couldn’t see myself carrying around pizza left overs all day long. This location is close to the beach and right in the mix of hotels on Atlantic Ave. definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for reasonable and quickly prepared food. Thanks again Capt. Basic pizza place. Nothing fancy. The food was good but nothing fantastic. My son said the bathroom was disgusting and wouldn't use it again. The Wait staff was very attentive.

This was our first time visiting Virginia Beach, but our second time eating at Dough Boys. My wife and I are not the type to eat at the same place twice on a trip, let alone back to back days. We couldn't get enough of the wave pizza, and we got it twice. It's half pizza with the other half like a stuffed crust. It literally looks like the crest of a wave, hence the name. Speaking of names, we can't remember our first server. He had glasses and dark hair. He was great, though. Our second day server was Kai who was also amazing and very upbeat. He made it such a great experience. Overall, if we're ever in town again, we'll go back for more Dough Boys.

My my my, this pizza looks as good as it takes. Each employee spoke to me! Very impressed and delicious pizza, so much cheese!!! I got the stuffed crust one. Ohhhhlaalaaa

my family liked this pizza a lot. it was deemed the best beach pizza by my 6,9,11 yo kids. only 1 block from the beach. calling in an order is cheaper but requires prepayment (cant blame the shop). the wave is a half pizza and half stromboli/calzone combination. its a little greasy but sooooo good on the beach. we ate there once and got pizza on the beach twice

I love going dough boys when I am in town. The food is great the drinks are yummy and the atmosphere is laid backed. Today I went to the 33rd Street location and Captain Charlie was there helping out as a server. He is just such an amazing person! So fun and kind he made this my best visit and I have been many times in the last 15 years. Come for the food stay for Charlie you won't be disappointed! God Speed Captain Charlie

Great lunch spot! My wife and I decided to get lunch during our boardwalk and settled on Dough Boys, which was great! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was open and inviting amd the service was profeaaional. My only, personal, complaint is I think the "wave" pizzas are an odd and awkward creation, that tries to blend both pizza and calzone and doeant quite capture each. It was delicious nonetheless.

Once again I missed you George at 25th street which is actually considered 24th. Please explain how that happened. John was a great server he right there when I needed something. I told him about the jukebox with the famous Miltons Air Guitar band. Kudos for keeping the Pizza awesome for years. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving

Service was ok. The Food was greasy and extremely cheesy. The menu that said chicken had two very tiny pieces of chicken and a mountain of cheese on the topping. I was very disappointed by that as i wanted to eat chicken haha. Waitress had a long melted cheese from my food on her fingers while handing us our pizza. I would say beurk but i was on vacation. She was nice though. As well- You get folks and knives only if you asked. For that i concluded/assumed that may be they are cheap considering the two pieces of chicken that i had in my pizza and ok i might say " let's save the planet for the plastic folks and eat with our fingers Grossomodo, we felt bad after eating the pizza. I would give one star because of the 2 pieces of chicken and all the greasiness .

Got a large pepperoni pizza to go. Thin slice with pepperoni. I wish there were more cheese on the pizza. It was decent but nothing special. A standard pizza. I think it was $24 which was pretty standard for beach area.

Late night take out, some really good Old Bay wings and a Cuban sammy for my wife and I to split. Everything was really tasty and fresh. The fries are well seasoned and very crispy.

This pizza is absolutely amazing when fresh.. it's just ok when reheated so try to enjoy it at the restaurant if you can.. the service is great our waiter was so polite and attentive. The restaurant has a bar and an outdoor seating area. Nothing fancy, just enough. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting.

We had the tribal "wave" pizza and loved it. The crust was not too thick or thin. Service was great!

Stopped by to grab lunch to-go to eat at the beach on a weekend around late lunch time. Plenty of seating indoors, outdoors, and at the bar. No line, service relatively quick. Ordered classic cheese pizza and Philly cheese steak platter, the latter of which came with a side of fries and a variety of vegetable toppings. Both standard and filling. Generous portion sizes for price.

The staff was very nice and they are the ones who earned the three stars. They were too busy and overwhelmed with too many customers and carryout orders. On this night, the quoted wait time for a table was 45 minutes. While waiting for the first five minutes, I noticed enough seats opened at the bar, so we sat and ordered from there. It took over an hour to get two small pizzas. When the pizzas came, they were just okay.

This is a nice family friendly pizza shop. My kids loved it and I must say that I enjoyed the pizza as well. The service was great and location is perfect. We'll be back!

Dough Boy's is soooo Good!! Our waiter was Captain and he was great and told us what to try!! We both got a salad and it was delicious and we got the cheesy flatbread as well. We really enjoyed the whole experience. We drove and had to pay for parking, I think it was $5. I like the hippy beach vibe that Doughboy's is known for. If you're looking for a quick lunch or even dinner, you should try Doughboy's!! If you check in on yelp and it's your first visit - they offer a 25% coupon at this location. I will definitely return here next time I'm at the beach.

We had pizza here several times over several weeks. The service was great every time. The pizza was served hot & fresh every time. I love the ham & pineapple pizza. Prices are very reasonable. Glass a wine at Happy Hour $5. Regular price $7.99

Wings were great! Pizza was okay, although I feel like I should have just ordered extra cheese on the pizza because I felt like there wasn't enough cheese. Two of my friends ordered mixed drinks, a tequila sunrise and a drink that was called "a trip to the beach " , I think. Anyhow both my friends complained the drink was just sugar and a splash of liquor ‍. Anyhow they decided that they were definitely not wasting more of their money on cocktails that tasted like blue kool-aid lol. The service was good. It did take a while for the food to arrive but we were patient. All in all, I would say try it maybe you'll like it.

I rate the food 3.5 out of 5. Kids said it was pretty good we got "The Wave". I can't really say anything about the atmosphere as we were the only ones there. To me it was almost like a chucky cheese pizza with better side crust. It kind of felt a little dirty.

You can never go wrong with pizza so I decided to try out Dough Boys. They have a new item their promoting called "The Wave" which consist of half pizza, half calzone. The dish is constructed to look like a wave crashing down on to the shoreline, which I thought was brilliant, considering the location. Despite it being the off season for tourist, this place is definitely a place you want to visit even if you're a local. The facility is well kept, inviting and the staff are super friendly. Thanks to Ashley and Todd! So I ordered The Wave and paired it with a Whiskey Sour. I was blown away by the size of the dish, I just knew I wouldn't finish it all. Both the pizza and calzone tasted fantastic and my drink was perfectly balanced with the ratios. It's going to be hard to stray away from this during my next visit. If you're looking for a delicious pizza to fill you up. Dough Boys is the place to go.

Their signs says "voted best pizza". Maybe to some, but not to me..... We chose this place because it's right next to our condo and my husband was sick so I could easily walk to pick up dinner. I got back to my room and realized they made the wrong pizza. I had ordered a chicken cordon blue pizza and received a chicken bacon ranch pizza. I ordered 2 sides of ranch (and paid for them) for my kids and didn't receive it. The chicken bacon ranch pizza was not terrible, just not want I wanted. The bacon was real bacon fried and crumbled. There was also a great amount of cheese on it which I enjoyed. The garlic bread was disappointing. It's really just a pizza with no sauce and very little cheese or herbs. The DB wave is simply pizza folded over on top of each other. The pizza portion was better then the wave portion. All in all, it's convenient but I'd try somewhere else before going here again. ************ Update: In response to owners comment, I am adding an update. I ordered directly from the company website. If the menu on your website is wrong, please correct it so others do not order something that is not available.

In town on a business trip and wanted something easy but didn't want just plain old pizza we could get at home. Decided to try the "wave" style pizza from dough boys and it did not disappoint. Ordered ahead for pickup, food was ready fast & served hot! Pizza was good, came with red pepper flakes and parm which was a nice touch for to go food. Sauce was light & sweet, REALLY good in my opinion. The consistency of the crust on this pizza is also fantastic. Price was a little high, $40 for a medium wave pizza and wings but was filling and hit the spot. Wings were delicious, seasoned very well and remained crisp even after being transported.

The food was incredible and it came out hot and fast. We were able to sit outside and enjoy the breeze. I highly recommend this establishment and we'll visit it again before we leave town.

Stephon was my waiter and he was excellent. The food was extremely good and came out fast. The restaurant lights are very pretty and everything is welcoming. Overall a wonderful experience!

Wait does seem a bit long, came late at night but the service is friendly and the food is good. As soon as we came in, we were to to pay for our food first and then grab a seat. I checked in Yelp after I had paid and noticed a 25% off, but I already paid. I didn't mention it because I didn't mind, but if your looking for a deal... check in first. I come here just about every year but due to the pandemic missed out the last two years but I'm glad this place is still delicious and friendly. Definitely a staple in my VA beach trip. I got a basic pepperoni pizza for my kids which i ate half of and my wife and I shared a cheesesteak. Sooo good. I also treated myself to a whisky crush which was pretty strong and just as delicious.

So on our stay in Virginia Beach we discovered Dough Boy's we dine in and one afternoon we had take out on the beach Pizza super we had pepperoni and one cheese both were very good wings were good first time but not as good for lunch I found a couple op chicken feathers but would definitely have pizza again

AMAZING FOOD!! CHARLES IS THE BEST!!! Restaurant was well clean and kept. They really treat you with kindness and are more than happy to help get you seated and served as soon as possible!

I absolutely love this restaurant. We go to Virginia Beach every year and we eat there every time we come. The waiters/waitresses are soooo nice especially Charlie. Charlie is so fun and so nice. The food is so wonderful. The pizza is the best, the fries are the best, and the wings are big and really good too. It's all so good. Definitely recommend going here.

The medium pizza with sausage and green bell peppers was delicious and the waitress were phenomenal!

I really enjoyed dough boys!! I went with my partner last night and the staff was super nice, I got the chicken Philly sub and my partner got the regular, and they allowed me to customize it to my liking. They had a cute bar and the diner theme was lovely. I want to try their pizza some time soon :)

Service kinda sucked, we had to wait almost an hour for our food to finally come and we just kinda had to convince ourselves it was good when there are actually better places across the street. We came here on a whim cuz we were hungry and it was close by but I probably wouldnt come back! Also, just and FYI they charged us a service fee.

Everything was awesome! Best pizza I've ever had, and the fries were perfect. Service was great as well! There is no beating the Happy Hour Special. Wish there was a Doughboys back home in Charlottesville!

Ordered DBs Pizza while sitting on the beach at the hotel....16 min later my pizza arrived lol...it was so hot that I had to let it cool a bit before carrying it outside. I used Yelp ordering and this is probably one of my most efficient experiences. Pizza was delivered hot,fresh, and so quick that I didn't mind tipping my driver extra because of the quick efficient service. I ordered the basics...pepperoni pizza and cheese bread...both were pretty decent for beach food. Dough Boys Pizza is much better than any of your traditional chain pizza shops...if visiting VA beach again...I wouldn't hesitate to consider

never waited so long for a slice of pizza in my entire life and it's never tasted so bad. ( it was a 20 min wait for 2 slices of plain pizza) Pizza still tasted raw and cheese tasted spoiled. The crazy thing was there were more servers than actual customers (should have been a red flag) Don't come here.

Love the outdoor bar seating. Pizza was the perfect snack. We had pepperoni with banana peppers and two Margarita Crushes. Fresh squeeze juice made the drinks great!

I experienced the worst service that I have ever experienced at this establishment! The sever was rude and when i asked to speak the manager she was nothing less than helpful. I had heard bad things about this establishment but went in hoping for them best, unfortunately I was extremely disappointed. The food was cold and the service was nonexistent, I would go to the next restaurant in a heartbeat.

Pizza was fresh, hot and delicious. The dough wasn't tough and it had a great sauce, cheese & pepperoni ratio.

We chose this place because of it's convenience and proximity to the beach and our hotel. Overall, this was a nice place. The food was pretty good and the service was a little slower than we'd expected. This place was obviously short staffed. Our waiter was very apologetic. He had a long 12 hour day and we came in near closing. I'm giving this place three stars because we attempted to come back here again for a quick cocktail and the establishment was only offering carry out. This was really inconvenient.

So we have ate at one of the other locations many times and we didn't expect anything bad out of this one. We ordered our food and sat down. And waited.. and waited. We saw others who ordered after us eat and leave. I think then the staff realized they forgot our food after 40 min. They apologize but never said that's what it was but it doesn't take that long to cook one medium pizza. They gave us free fries and a voucher for a free pizza the next time we come but we live 3hrs away and come once a year - the voucher expires in a year though. Thankfully the food was good and they were nice about it. It'll be a while before we come again.

In town for a wedding and wanted to grab a quick bite before the rehearsal. We chose the one in 33rd street as it was close to our hotel. Top notch pizza and even more over the top service. It was a cool day and the vibes were warm and inviting. Thank you Sean for the recommendations on food and absolutely the best service with conversation. We had a shift change and had the pleasure of meeting Hannah as well. She was a true gem too. Visit the 33rd street location and enjoy!!

It was really good I got a Buffalo pizza and a pepperoni pizza it had a nice little bar too highly recommend

My fiancée and I went here for lunch and the food was amazing. But what made the visit that much better was the service I received from my waiter. He was absolutely incredible.

Was looking forward to eating here after visiting last year but will never be visiting again after tonight's experience. To start, the service was absolutely horrible. When we made a complaint with the manager, she stated it was because the server was a foreigner, which causes a language barrier. I was very confused by this. BUT THEN... she went on to say that she didn't understand why her manager kept hiring them because it was an issue. I was shocked. Not only was her response unprofessional, but it was outright degrading and prejudice towards her own coworkers. Whoever owns this establishment, please look into replacing your manager asap!!

Just a quick walk from my hotel. Outside/inside bar area. Clean. Pizza was good! Seen one of the girls stand on the widow sill to clean the inside widows but not clean the sill after or the seats. Do you know what was on the bottom of your shoes? Women's restroom was clean. Another worker came in and used the facilities but did not wash her hands. That's why they are getting three stars

This place was on point. Would make Dave Portnoy proud. The key to a good pie is the construction, both the crust and under-carriage were crispy. Our waitress was friendly and went above and beyond. Ambience was fun, we sat outdoors with our passed out child in the stroller. Drinks were a variety, especially if you're not looking for Budweiser :) I had the Old Bay Bloody Mary.

"I don't know how you can make pizza so bad" - my wife Additionally, the front of the house is completely disorganized, and the back of the house takes twice as long as quoted. All of this with with a mandatory 10% service fee.

We had pizza there and it was very good. Not a lot of ambiance but clean and comfortable. Waitress was great. My only objection is that they were playing jazz music instead of Irish music. It was St Patty's after all
