I haven’t been here in over eight years and I love Suzanne for the same really excited to try the Vermonter again I hope it’s as delicious as I remember

Google
I have ordered food from these guys many times and finally felt so strongly that I had to leave this review. The guys who work at dough do not only cook up some delicious and creative food but they are incredibly friendly and clearly dedicated to customer service. The sandwiches are fantastic and the pizza and apps are great too!! Definitely a must try in East Boston!

Steve

Google
Dough has a huge sandwich menu with the craziest combos. The burgers are underrated but always great. You looking for something different, they got you covered. My only pet peeve is the wait time, sometimes over 30mins. Order ahead and you got one the best sandwiches in Boston. Keep in mind the specials can out of this world. Its really 5 stars but you're going to wait for it.

Google
Dough is a unique place to eat. They have an awesome variety of sandwiches along with an assortment of other menu items to satisfy any of your cravings. The restaurant is fairly small but has a nice cafe feel, and the staff were very kind and friendly.

Google
These are without any question the best sandwiches in the city. Every item on the menue is jam packed with "wow". Made fresh with love every day. Make sure you ask about the specials, its always something impressive. The pizza is great too. I eat at this place like 3 times a week. I literally can't get enough. Favorite sandwiches are the Vermonter, the Pulled Pork, and the "hi, I'm Lilah" pizza.

Google
did pick up here for the first time due to all the rave reviews on google. expectation was through the roof so i was a bit disappointed with the pizza. i just thought it was okay. not sure if it was slightly under-cooked or not. i ate about half the pizza and re baked it again the next day to be safe . taste aside it was just okay and nothing really stood out for me

Google
My order was the same since I've ever known this place. The good old Philly Steak&Cheese. The cookies that are made by one of the employees is another experience of itself. All in all, this place is a one of kind. I can't wait to cross the globe again to be in that place and have the same exact order!

Google
Wow, maybe I should have tried a sandwich instead of the Saturday Night Special pizza and Buffalo Chicken Mac & Cheese bites. I was quite disappointed! The pizza seriously lacked a sufficient or noticeable amount of pizza sauce and had more mushrooms and peppers than either meat. The bites were just not a flavor or smell that I found pleasant. I think I can salvage the leftover pizza by adding my own pizza sauce so it's not a total waste. I placed the order over the phone for delivery (free delivery). The woman on the phone was very nice, as was the young man that delivered my order.

Alexandra A.

Yelp
The pizza here is really good . The service is great . The staff is super friendly. The one is welcoming. Parking is very difficult that's the only draw back .

Juan S.

Yelp
Steak and Cheese sandwich/cheesesteak was actually really good. Great flavor, bread is nice and fresh. It could definitely have more meat/cheese inside or an option to add more if you wanted. Best cheesesteak I've had in Boston so far.

Yelp
My friends and I decided to get takeout from here while taking in a fireworks show. They certainly seemed to have a hyped up reputation in the area. Well, first our friends ordered online and we went to do the same. About 30 seconds after they completed their order, I noticed there was a special if you bought 2 specialty pizzas, you got a free large cheese. We were ordering a specialty as well as our friends that already had and they had ordered a small cheese for our kids. Our friend immediately called to see if the orders could be combined or cancelled before I placed mine, to get the special, and they said no. They wouldn't offer her anything, played dumb, and said they'd need a manager to handle it, but they didn't attempt to do so. They at least could have credited the small cheese towards our order. They were just extremely dismissive about it. They refused to give my friends husband paper plates to take with him to actually eat the pizza. I'm not sure what the deal was with that. The pizza was extremely thin, hard, and the toppings were very skimpy. We got a pizza special that contained sausage as the main topping and you were lucky if you got one sausage per slice. That's honestly how skimpy it was. The crust was so hard, it was almost inedible. My daughter will honestly eat anything and even she had no desire to eat the leftovers we had from here. Definitely not worth the hype.

Britany A.

Yelp
I love this pizzeria, this one of my favorite pizza places ever. They serve a thin pizza crust with tangy delicious sauce. My to go combo is pineapple with pepperoni, it a "unique" combo I will live for (if you like Hawaiian pizza style, pls give it a shot). I have seen the bad reviews for the bad customer service but honestly I am here for the pizza be not the service. AND I have never been attended rudely by any of the staff

Andrew G.

Yelp
Food is ok. Convenient enough location to grab some food while at work. Ordered here several times with no issues. The 1-star is for being cheated out of $10. Order paid, food not produced. No apology, no offer of refund. All I got was a cold small pizza for $25. Abysmal service, zero accountability. Will not eat here again.

George R.

Yelp
Very good pizza. Ordered a large pepperoni. HUGE pepperonis, perfect doughy crunchy crust. Looking forward to trying other items on their menu.

Anna F.

Yelp
This was probably my favorite lunch order from where I work in East Boston. I was surprised by the creative pizza topping combos, and I enjoyed the dough. My favorites were the Mediterranean (tomato, spinach, feta, Kalamata olives) and the pepperoni (flavorful sauce and unique long pepperoni). I also thought the steak cola was interesting. Apparently the meat is made more tender by marinating it in cola. The steak itself was cool, and reminded me of the steak in Philly cheese steaks, and I liked the combo with caramelized onions and cheese. The Gorgonzola wasn't my favorite with it, but I'm sure you can ask that it be left out if that's your preference.

Jacki E.

Yelp
- crust is thin and crispy - can buy by the slice -they warm up your slice for you in the oven - fast - cheap - hole in the wall

Peter T.

Yelp
Unfortunately their partnership with Uber Eats means that deliveries reach customers 2 hours after the pizza was made. Because of this, the pizza is cold, hard. I am sure it is decent otherwise, but unfortunately not tonight. Both pizza and wings had to be heated. Wings - very good but sauced at home.

Johnson M.

Yelp
Poor service. Asked for a gluten free pizza. Was told allergen precautions would be taken. Pizza was made with complete disregard for basic cross contamination control. The woman making the order did not even communicate it to the guys making the food. I was just left with a pizza that I couldn't eat. When I asked the woman at the counter about it she seemed defiant.

Tom B.

Yelp
This place is horrible! Multiple food code violations, and they constantly get orders completely wrong. Customer service is nonexistent. When addressing an issue, they always get short and hostile with their customers. I've tried to give this place multiple chances, but they will not get anymore of my money.

Jose T.

Yelp
The best customer service. Very friendly and understanding. Love the delivery's drivers overall cool people

Gregory N.

Yelp
Repeatedly make my order wrong and leave items off the stated ingredients on their menu then when asked to fix it, give you attitude. Also, their menu is incorrect regarding pricing and they refuse to change it or honor the Massachusetts accuracy law, and give you the stated price employees even go so far as to tell you, it's not a big deal that you paid 25 to 30% more for an item, that's on their menu.

Marissa R.

Yelp
Dirty Water is the only pizza I'll eat in Boston. The crust is that thin, cornmeal-dusted type and there are so many topping combos that everyone is bound to find something they like. My go-to is the margherita and my boyfriend loves the pepperoni with vegan cheese. They also have gluten free or vegan crust! The sizes allow for great leftovers which reheat nicely in the toaster oven. The one time they got my order wrong, they were quick & friendly to fix it. Dirty Water has my business as long as I'm in Boston!

Tracie J.

Yelp
Just moved into the neighborhood and ventured down to try some pizza. I got the half pepperoni and chicken Alfredo. I asked for no broccoli but they put it on there unfortunately. Cooked broccoli gives off that awful smell. So i had to co e it in ranch. The pepperoni was good unfortunately it was so fresh it slid off the slice and i had to eat it with a fork. I'll give them another try though.

Jessica W.

Yelp
The service has definitely improved here! I stopped by a lil early to pick up my pizza and it was already ready for pickup.

Kaitlyn H.

Yelp
My favorite pizza in Boston. Love how quick they are whenever I order. Highly recommend the Newbury sandwich, their turkey is so flavorful. Not usually a hot turkey kinda gal cause I find turkey to be dry, but whatever they do to their turkey makes it perfectly moist and flavorful. So many kinds of pizza, crust is perfect and friendly staff. Try the dirty taco, the hulk, or the big papi pizza. Delicious Vegetarian options My best friend is vegan and has a hard time eating out, so when we ever found out that dirty water had vegan cheese and impossible burgers we were so excited because we finally can eat out together. Kid-friendliness Around Christmas time I took my younger brother in there for a quick bite and the girl put Shrek on the tv. I told her she didn't have to do that because we'd only be there for a short period of time. She told me it was fine, they have Netflix and Hulu for when kids come in with their parents to dine in. I thought that was pretty cool. When my brother and I went home we picked up and watched the rest of shrek together at home.

Alexandria N.

Yelp
So so so delicious!!! Be sure to get their own soda brand! Pizza and appetizers and service all great. We did pick up and everything was ready exactly on time

Krista R.

Yelp
Fabulous. Fresh, quality ingredients in an area hurting for good pizza (Santarpios is trash, come at me!) The fact that they do slices or whole pies is a welcome change to the neighborhood. Update: delivery via Uber Eats was easy peasy and fast.

Jim E.

Yelp
Sunday night in Boston...came in starving and the weather was cold. Who ya gonna call? Dirty Water Dough! Loved this "pie"...comes in two sizes...small & large. I chose small...definitely large enough to be shared by two. My pizza was pepperoni & mushroom. Crust was great...not too thick, not too thin...great crisp. Pepperoni was of the giant variety which was pretty cool! Ample amounts of cheese and mushrooms and the red sauce was well seasoned! I look forward to going back cuz "Well I love that dirty water.. oh Boston you're my home!"

Rick O.

Yelp
Great pizza, as delicious as advertised. Garden salad is an absolute grand slam! Staff is courteous and friendly, even when they're crazy busy.

Bond J.

Yelp
Still doing good here. Steak and cola with bacon is amazing! Tried the little weird ice creams balls they sell here. I wouldn't order again, but it was different.

Michelle B.

Yelp
Everything about this place is amazing! The chicken wings the Salad with the artichokes and the dressing!! The sandwiches and the gluten free pizza don't confuse it with Newbury Street. This is the location. Caprese SaladChicken WingsSantino

Meghan J.

Yelp
This places gives Regina pizzeria a run for its money. Location is tiny but the pizza is unreal. So delicious, will be back

Beth N.

Yelp
Oh my God y'all I want to bring this place down to Florida so I can have Dirty Water Dough pizza whenever I want. This is the best pizza I've ever had. Hands down. Regina's, Santarpio's - they've got nothing on Dirty Water Dough. The crust is nice and crisp, the sauce is perfect, cheese is perfection. My faves are the pepperoni of course and the Dirty Taco pizza (add jalapeños.) The Caesar salad is also delish for when I want to trick myself into thinking I'm eating healthy. I'm not sure how I don't have a picture but I'll remedy that next time I'm East Boston.

Ana B.

Yelp
The pizzas are good but the site is run unprofessionally. Many times they don't have delievery. When they deliver, the pizzas often arrive already luke warm and soggy. Last time that I picked up, they gave me a wrong order. They brush all issues off as if it is mo big deal.

Ian K.

Yelp
Takeout Review: Tried this on a Saturday afternoon and man it brought back memories of off the interstate slices at papa gino's or a home pizza at digiornos.... translation: a last resort pizza. There is no quality in the food, nothing special to it. Although to their credit they do know how to crisp the crust besides that I could never willingly spend 55$ on two pizzas and cheese bread that is basically just a no sauce pizza... I have had bad pizza in Boston rarely and this is one of those times. What a weekend afternoon mood killer. I advise to avoid this place and keep walking til you hit Santarpios. For all the great pizza places in Boston this place really lowers the bar. If they say they have improved I'm happy to try but for now this is a absolute no go for me.

Ethan A.

Yelp
What I love about this place is that you have the option to do two halfs for a pizza. This is great if you happen to have a mix of meat and non-meat eaters for example. However, the pizza just wasn't very good. We got a half bbq chicken and half margherita pizza ($19.50). The crust on the margherita was completely soggy and rendered the pizza basically inedible. The bbq pizza had a delicious crust, but had incredibly too much bbq sauce on it (and the bbq sauce also wasn't good).

Sarah B.

Yelp
Finally a good pizza place in Eastie! (Sorry all you Santarpio fans ). I got the small veggie pizza and Greek salad. Both were excellent. Delivery came faster than expected. The crust of the dough was a good mix of doughy and crunchy. Smooth crust but was sturdy enough not to get floppy with all the toppings. Also I recommend getting the Greek dressing to dip the pizza in . I may experiment with extra (marinara) sauce on the pizza next time

Stacey M.

Yelp
I placed an order was charged extra without my permission for a tip if I ate there and you did something i don't mind giving a tip but not for something I'm picking up and then she tells my she's keeping the receipt and she will have her boss fix it I just feel like she does this allot and people don't realize it or have the time to come back to dispute it. also the gentleman ahead of me ordered two slices so it had to be put in a brown bag this woman takes her fingers put them in her mouth to open the bag and placed his pizza in it so unsanitary but it wasn'tmy place to address it my order came in a box but just plane nasty

Eva M.

Yelp
Dirty water makes some decent dough. We came here last night to satisfy some cravings and wanted to try one of the newer pizza places in East Boston. The place itself is very small with only 3 tables to sit at. It appeared that most of their business comes from takeout. They do sell pizza by the slice which is always a cool option if you don't want to purchase an entire pizza. At times it was slightly noisy when the delivery employees would come in and they would have conversations but it's a very casual place. We ordered the veggie pizza and the dirty garlic cheese bread. The dough was very thin for the pizza and because of the amount of toppings it caused the pizza to be a bit floppy. Overall the taste was pretty good, combined with the cheese, crushed red pepper and garlic powder in the shakers which gave it a nice touch. The cheesy garlic bread was more like a flatbread and didn't have as much garlic flavor as I had expected but certainly had the gooey cheese on top. It did have some fresh basil on top as well which gave it a nice touch. Overall it's a decent pizza place and I've heard good things about some of the other "dirty" items on their menu such as their fries and wings, so I'll have to come back sometime and get down and dirty with them.

Kayla J.

Yelp
I ordered half pepperoni and half Aloha, I guess they ran out of prosciutto (or ham) because all I got was half pineapple/ half pepperoni. I use to like pineapple on my pizza until this. It's was loaded with only pineapple which made it soggy & disgusting and I now hate pineapple on my pizza. But... the half pepperoni was good.

Andrés T.

Yelp
One of the best pizza in BOSTON. Love the dough and the pepperoni, just delicious. Really recommended to anyone on the Boston area.

Megan G.

Yelp
This small place may be one of the most underrated spots in East Boston. Excellent food and friendly staff. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for pizza slices or sandwiches on the go. They came in clutch during the pandemic.

W. C.

Yelp
Dirty Water Dough is amongst the restaurants in East Boston where a significant number of employees and customers are not masked, and get this, East Boston is a Boston neighborhood with one of the highest rates of Covid 19 in the City of Boston. I am so tired of businesses that are unwilling to demand that their employees be masked (with mask over their mouth and nose), and wear their masks properly, or that don't have the balls to show a customer who refuses to wear a mask (over their mouth and nose) to the door. Is it Ghetto-chic to be wearing your mask, not over your mouth and nose, but under your chin? If you want to visit a breeding ground for Covid 19, go to Dirty Water Dough. One can only hope that one day, the owners and managers of Dirty Water Dough get serious about Covid 19, and demand that their employees and customers wear masks (properly) the entire time they are in their restaurant. Here's a thought/question about those restaurants that are not serious about their employees and customers wearing masks (properly) in their restaurant, If the restaurant is not serious about Covid 19, what could possibly lead you to believe that the restaurant is serious about food safety, or the personal hygiene of their employees?

Michael W.

Yelp
Order somewhere else. The employees and establishment do not care about either the quality of their product nor customer service. Their establishment messed up an allergy order of my party and then quoted us 30min for correction. When I requested that they cancel the order they said, and I quote "you could have said that from the beginning" and hung up on me. Incredibly unprofessional and horrendous customer service to correct a mistake they made.

Jessica L.

Yelp
We ordered the pepperoni pizza. Overall I would give it a 8/10. It was good but personally, I like my pizza super crispy. It wasn't crispy enough even after I asked for it well done. The small pizza was fairly large. We also got mozzarella sticks & a Caesar salad. The salad was huge: nothing terrible about them just very basic. Service was great. I would come back, but am still on the hunt for another pizza spot to call home.

Kevin D.

Yelp
I ordered 2 Caesar Salads with extra dressing + side of wings with pesto mayo. Got my orders with no sauces/dressings. Called the store and the guy immediately blamed his staff and then stated that "within an hour" they would be able to get me my sauces- so 60+ possible minutes after my order had been completed. He then said my driver just came in, and we will get them out to you. They delivered the sauces and again they were incomplete- missing 2 of the 5 (paid for) sauces. This is not the first instance, and I won't order again. Learn to read your tickets, and please refund my money.

Arnold H.

Yelp
I placed my order through uber eats and I guess they don't like those? After 15 minutes of no acknowledgement that my order had been processed I called them up and was immediately placed on hold for 6 minutes. Once they answered, I was told my pizza was ready! The app still hasn't updated the original "order placed" status, and was telling me it'd be ready in another half hour. Not now. When I arrived, they didn't provide me with utensils as requested in the app either. It wasn't busy. Piss poor service. How is the pizza? Fine. Typical American. Santarpio's seems to be comparison of choice for other reviews. I think DW has better crust and worse flavors. If you want a good pizza go to Ciao.

Bailee P.

Yelp
Wow. Got the hulk on Saturday night and it was delicious. The pesto is really fresh and delicious. The cheese and margarita were good too but the crazy flavors some home go together very well. Step out of your comfort zone at Dirty Water! It'll pay off!

Steve C.

Yelp
Very disappointed with this place. I have tried it several times to give it chances but things don't seem like they have improved. Ordered "The Vermonter" sandwich and "Dirty Fries". The side of fries was $7 so I was anticipating at least hand cut fries for that price, however, they ended up being those frozen crusty ones. The sandwich was supposed to have sliced green apple on it and come on a ciabatta roll. Instead, there was no apple and it came on a crunchy, braided sesame roll. When I called and let them know the guy did offer to have me come back for a new one or deliver one. I said no thanks and he then said he would have his manager refund the money on my credit card. So I guess they at least offered that.

Maggie P.

Yelp
Really great pizza spot. The pizza was delicious, we had the chicken parm. The crust is really flavorful and the toppings were good. Our pizza had ricotta on top which was a great addition. Would highly recommend!

Jordan S.

Yelp
Pepperoni pizza was among the top 3 I've ever had I'm Boston. Perfect combination of sauce, cheese, and dough. Only ding for the Arancini bites which left much to be desired.

Arana C.

Yelp
Great place to eat Highly recommended. I was here last month and The service was very good and The food was Delish!

Jose R.

Yelp
Absolutely not the place for a vegan. While using the not so user friendly online ordering process I left a very explicit note and to no avail it was disregarded.

Jason T.

Yelp
Yes. Large with half Big Papi add mushrooms and half pepperoni. I knocked this out myself (in preparation for winter hibernation, obviously). -- awesome crust -- razor thin, good Italian sausage piled high -- great sauce (had red and pesto) -- easy to do half and half -- reasonable prices -- not just on Newbury St (East Boston too)

Yuri A.

Yelp
I loveeeeee this place !!! I actually used to go to the Dirty water Dough location on Newbury St all the time in Boston since it was right next to my old job and recently found out about this location and let me tell you they did not disappoint at all. My family automatically asked where I had ordered from because the pizza was so delicious. I can't wait to order again, I highly recommend, enjoy their amazing quality food.

Mary C.

Yelp
Great Pizza and Great Service. And, they really care about making sure to get gluten-free orders right! Much appreciated!

Darrin O.

Yelp
Can't say if my food was good or not, we ordered sit in. Our pizza was brought to the table. Yet the rest of our order was packed up to go. When we got home to discover what in fact we were handed isn't what we ordered. Perplexed ! The child girl at the phones wasn't pleasant in the least. Arguing with Mike/Luigi on the phone and texting. Used profanity most of what came out of her mouth. Inappropriate! In the hour plus we waited for our meal multiple conversations about messed up orders. I would love to say this is a great place, but as it stands. This experience was a mess and very uncomfortable to sit there while the madness and trashing of Mike took place. Unprofessional! My two stars is being generous only due to the food even if wrong is pretty good. I thought first I would offer a conversation.
