London-style pizza with thin chewy crusts and unique toppings
"The Old Nun’s Head, unsurprisingly in Nunhead, falls firmly into the ‘fun party pub’ category. See: the Britney shrine behind the bar, cool kid crowd, and 80-decibel-plus levels come the evening. Thanks to Dough Hands’ kitchen residency, it’s also serving some of London’s best pizza. The pizzas pair a thin, NYC-inspired base with pillowy, charred crusts, and balanced toppings. Our favourite is the spicy, citrussy, tuna-topped pie." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, sinead cranna
"London pubs come in all shapes and sizes, and The Old Nun’s Head falls firmly into the ‘fun party pub’ category—see: the Britney shrine and disco ball behind the bar, cool kid crowd, and 80-decibel-plus levels come the evening. Thanks to Dough Hands’ kitchen takeover, it’s also serving some of London’s best pizza. We were already fans of their east London pub residency, and its south London iteration in Nunhead continues to prove that tuna does belong on a pizza. Especially when it’s an excellent, thin-base, chewy-crust pie." - jake missing, rianne shlebak, daisy meager, sinead cranna, heidi lauth beasley, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna, daisy meager, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna, heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak, jake missing, sinead cranna, sinead cranna, jake
"We’ve tried Dough Hands’ self-proclaimed ‘London-style’ pizzas from the kitchen of Hackney pub The Spurstowe Arms—and think they’re some of the best slices in London. Now you can find them at Peckham pub The Old Nun’s Head, where we’re hoping for more stracciatella or ‘nduja and hot honey-topped pies. We checked out Dough Hands At The Old Nun's Head and added it to the Hit List." - team infatuation

But what really pulls us back is their spicy, citrussy, tuna-topped pie. video credit: Emily Hai photo credit: Daisy Meager video credit: Daisy Meager Pause Unmute Food Rundown House Pickles Petition for more pickle plates. A mound of sweet, tangy pickles is an ideal way to kick off proceedings alongside a crisp pint. photo credit: Daisy Meager Tomato Pie A pie that defies gravity. The dough is rolled thinly and cooked to a wonderful crisp, and the marinara sauce actually tastes like tomato (which in our experience is often not the case). Splodges of creamy stracciatella are an essential add-on. PlayMute video credit: Daisy Meager Jode Despite being topped with ‘nduja and hot honey, there wasn’t much of a spicy element. There are better options on Dough Hands’ menu, so we’d skip. PlayMute video credit: Daisy Meager Spicy Tuna Who knew we’d be singing the praises of a pizza topped with tuna? This is a must-order—there’s a gorgeous balance of chilli heat, lemon freshness, and sweet red onion. photo credit: Daisy Meager" - Daisy Meager
