Nuts that (at the time of writing) we're sitting at only 16 reviews. This is a city of 9 million or so and everyone should be eating this pizza at every pizza-related eating opportunity they get. Probably every salad-related eating opportunity too, life's too short.
It isn't easy for me to express in words how good the pizza is. It is the best pizza I have eaten, at least in London. Everyone talks about the crust and the base here. Rightly so - it is incredible. This is something between neopolitan and New York style, and what is perfectly executed is the firm, crisp base. You don't need cutlery.
The toppings are also just brilliant. We got the OG and the Jode. Jode was best, but both good. Other than "brilliant", two specific comments here. (1) The tomato has a presence on this pizza - it isn't just some forgettable paste or a vessel for the rest of the ingredients. It's there, and it brings a deeply pleasant, fresh, slightly acidic (in a good way) bite. This brings me to (2), that there is real harmony among the ingredients. I truly believe that real thought has gone into this menu and each pizza. The jalapeno in the OG felt unnecessary when reading the menu, but on eating it married well with the heavier, richer pepperoni.
Also, shouts to manager Allie (I hope I got the name right) who is absolutely top tier and went out of her way to make us have a good night, while managing a restaurant / pub that was absolutely rammed.
