Dough In The Box DONUTS - Marietta

Ordered through Uber eats for Father's Day. Heard rave reviews so we were excited to try. These are the worst donuts we have ever had. We ordered the 1/2 dozen specialty mix. Pictures attached. The cronut was the only good one. The Fathers Day one was a iced hard blah. The Nutella was so thick, not even my kids were able to eat it. The peach was filled with some kind of gelatinous fake sweet orange stuff. The plain glaze were easily compared to the packaged ones you get from a grocery store. What an expensive disappointment for a special day. I do not understand the 5 stars. Maybe we have higher standards, i would recommend Duck Donuts or The Salty.

Had donuts delivered to our office via Uber Eats, and they were amazing! Would definitely get donuts from here again 🍩 the hot chocolate was also very good

The customer service at this location and the general energy was just wonderful! Very welcoming and decorated for the season. The woman who helped us gave a tour of their selection as well as making a few recommendations for award winning donuts. We decided to get a full dozen of varied kinds and they are all amazing! We will definitely be back. A new family favorite.

Still my favorite donut and breakfast place! The donuts are so far above the big chains that it isn't even fair 😂. The biscuits and other hot breakfast stuff is great as well. Even better than the food is the staff. They're always nice, attentive and make sure you leave with a smile.

Excellent selection of FRESH doughnuts and treats. The staff was so helpful and pleasant. The storefront was clean and well maintained. The best part, the doughnuts were delicious!

I stumbled across this doughnut shop this morning and it did not disappoint! The two ladies working were very kind and welcoming. They had a lot of choices to chose from and for these to be fresh & homemade the price for half a dozen speciality doughnuts was very fair!

The donuts were good and priced well. The staff always greet you and smile. Quick service they also have a decent coffee. Will be back. They have about 3 tables if you want to eat there.

Donuts have most definitely changed and not for the better! I used to love their apple fritters, crispy crunchy on the outside and soft with apples in the dough inside not jelly or soft! Got a 1/2 dozen and the fritters were wet and soft with some kind of jelly gel on them! So disappointed the prices were up as well. I will go to devs from now on

First, it's better than the typical big box place selling donuts, but it's not five stars. You need to go early when the donuts are fresh, and they have a good selection left as they don't make them but once a day prior to opening. Location more like a three or less. Should be able to give half stars as this is a 3 1/2 star establishment.

Delicious Donuts! Wonderful service and lovely people! I stop in every time I go to my Chiropractor, and gave a Bacon, egg and cheese croissant and great coffee.

This is a long time staple in the community. Dough in the box has never disappointed and has been a go to place for quick treats whenever we have people in town. They are always quick and I have never spent longer than five minutes here. There limited hours mean that you have to get there before you miss them since they close fairly in the day but they are well worth it!

The cronuts were amazing. Great variety of donuts to choose from and if you like coffee, they have that too!

The food is amazing but if you make an order when they're busy they'll cancel without telling you why.

Craving donuts so I came here. Customer service Michele cordial. Donuts are good fresh. Ambiance is that It gets crowded early hours.

This place was good before their prices more than doubled. One of the employees blamed it on Covid but there's no way that because of Covid your prices went up that much if the prices at Dunkin' Donuts, Krispy Kreme, or even Starbucks haven't went up that much because of quote Covid if they have even went up at all. I'll have a check with a few people that work for those companies and see what increases they have had. But I know they aren't anything as close to what Doughnut in a box has had. It's a shame really they were a good company until they used the excuse of Covid to jack up the prices.

I am in love! I've been trying to get into this spot several times since moving to the Smyrna/Mableton area and their hours (6 am to 2 pm), but today was the day. I ordered an assortment box and some breakfast sandwiches for us before watching church from home and everything was excellent. I love supporting local spots, and I'm so glad they are close by. They will be seeing a lot of me. Dough in the Box presents an alternative to a Dunkin or Krispy Kreme for those who adore a more personalized, hometown spot. They have decent parking for free in a private spot. Order online and they will have your order available in 10-15 minutes. It's an awesome spot in the area and is very popular with the locals, and I'm proud to be a new fan. It was what I imagined it would be and even more. Clean, crisp, and so, so sweet!

This was my first time visiting Dough in the Box. I'm from the northeast, and I tried out multiple doughnut spots in town. The exterior is certainly dated and not very appealing, but when you step inside, I immediately noticed the modern and revamped cafe style doughnut shop! Nice bar seating if you want to sit down and enjoy your food. The doughnuts are on the smaller side, and the premium flavors cost $2.25 each. I feel like for the size they should be priced more at $1.50, but the flavor certainly makes up for it. They were sold out of the cannoli flavor that I wanted, and they were more than happy to make one for me! (Only took 3-4 minutes) I've never heard of any other doughnut shop making fresh doughnuts for you when they're sold out. The cannoli definitely tasted like it was just made as well. My favorite was by far the red velvet cake donut with cream cheese icing. Very sugary and sweet. Everything I'd want in a doughnut. My only complaint is that the cannoli and Nutella filled doughnuts lacked a little bit on the filling, hence why they were light in weight. Overall, this is a great mom and pop shop. The family running the place is very nice and helpful. They even gave me some free doughnut holes! Are these the best in Atlanta? I would say they are some of the best. Certainly beats Dunkin and Krispy Kreme, but my favorite in Atlanta is Doughnut Dollies, which is more expensive at close to $4 per doughnut, and overall bigger and better quality doughnuts. The thing is, you can't exactly compare the two, since Doughnut Dollies costs more and is a more premium doughnut. In conclusion, Dough in the Box gets my vote as one of the top doughnut shops in Atlanta! Certainly give it a try if you're in town, and support a small business over a chain.

I can't say enough good things about this place. The staff is always so nice when you walk in the door and the selection of things they have (other than just donuts) is amazing. I go as much as I can and love that you can grab a seat if you want and enjoy the crowd and atmosphere. Everything is so fun and cute!

I have always been a fan of Krispy Kreme and never liked any other donuts until I found this place. Everything I've ever gotten there has been fresh and delicious. I love their traditional glazed donuts and breakfast croissants. Order ahead by phone and your order will be ready when you get there!

Best doughnuts EVER!!! I enjoy their sour cream donuts, and the cronuts are especially good. They also have breakfast sandwiches. This is the best place to go for a freshly baked doughnut!

The hours are perfect! I walked in and the cashier was very nice and so was the doughnut! It was warm and fresh! Only reason I couldn't give 5 stars is because the ice coffee didn't have enough caffeine for me and it was a slight let down! Other than that a perfect quick breakfast!

This place is delicious but get there early because they sell out fast and the owner/ manager is super nice I'm not able to recall her name but she's Hispanic and very sweet and friendly ‼

If I see a donut shop, I must stop and try it. This was another random find that I stumbled upon on my drive. It was later in the day and they were sold out of most things, but their Apple fritter was pretty good. The ladies working here were super nice and threw in some extra donut holes

they are not gourmet fancy donuts but they don't claim to be so still reasonably priced donuts. go early for best selection. i do not go for coffee just donuts

If you need some dough in the box, not cash, but the literal dough then please come here! The doughnuts are made fresh daily. As soon as you open the door and see and most importantly smell all of those pretty treats, you may be tempted to eat the entire building. Don't do that! Get a baker's dozen and let the folks choose for you. You won't be disappointed. The kiddos loved them so much!

Couldn't wait to try this place but they have very early hours. I went in around 11 AM and almost all flavors of their donuts were gone. Only plain and a few twist left, not even a chocolate covered. I settled for a cinnamon twist and a churro donut. It was very extremely basic. Nothing to write home about. Actually their donuts tasted salty and were very hard. I heated it for a few seconds to see if that would be better. It was then just a salty, softer twist. I think I'll just stick to Krispy Kreme. Or, stop in the RacTrac gas station on the corner if I want an old hard donut. The staff didn't seem too friendly here either. I'm shocked by all of the positive reviews but it's a no for me.

The lady's who work the register are the absolute nicest people i've met. I love the mocha iced coffee & my boyfriend loves the breakfast sandwiches. I love the feeling of being welcomed & eating good food.

I tried this place because I wanted to find out what the hype was about. The doughnuts are descent and there is a huge selection available. The building is very clean and the employees are very nice. Give this establishment a try if you are in the Austell/Marietta area.

I recommend! It's a cute little place located downtown Austell GA. We tried the Turkey Jalapeños and Bacon croissant sandwich. They have tasty donuts too, we'll try it out next visit! ;)

Purchased a varied selection of donuts and a hot coffee, it was around 9:30 in the morning and it was not busy so I was helped as soon as I arrived. There were fresh donut holes cooling on the rack but, the items I happened to choose seemed to be at least a day old when we tried them. There really was no way they were fresh unless something in their recipes needs altered and they dry out quickly. They have an interesting take on a churro donut which is like a cinnamon sprinkled donut cut in half with caramel slathered on it and then pressed back together like a sugary caramel sandwich...it was like that caramel you dip caramel apples in and it's really too rich in my opinion, a little goes a long way. I really wanted to like it but, I just didn't have any luck with my selections and I bought half a dozen and no one else liked the donuts I got either so, it was a little embarrassing. I've never had a situation in which no one wanted to finish their donuts. The staff was very nice and it was very clean and my plain hot coffee wasn't burnt or old, so that's where they got their stars. Anyway, it might have just been an off day and I try my hardest to support local businesses so, I will give them another chance but, I am not in a hurry to do it.

Went on a Sunday morning, they were busy and had a line almost out the door. The line moved quickly and the counter staff was so nice. Most doughnuts are $1, but can go up to $1.90 for specialty doughnuts. They have your typical doughnuts that most doughnut shops have, but the also have the ever so delicious cronuts (half croissant + half doughnut = heaven in your mouth). My kids loved their doughnuts and also loved that each doughnut comes with 2 glazed doughnut balls.

Fantastic donuts! There is typically a little bit of a line but not too bad and it moves fast! They aren't too fancy but excellent tasting donuts and there are really good flavor options! They always throw a few donut holes in the box when you order a dozen... for me to eat on the way home ;)

*Reviewing Delivery* Passed by this place on a drive out last week and vowed to do take-out or delivery the next weekend...and here we are, belly full of breakfast sandwich writing this review! Located on Austell Road in Marietta a stand alone building, sits this location of Doughnut In The Box. To be honest, it doesn't look like much from the outside, but you know what they say..."Don't judge a doughnut by the box it comes in!" - I'm pretty sure someone said that, like 93% sure. And in the event someone did say that, they were talking about this place! While I have never been inside, I am glad I didn't judge it and opted to try it instead. We ended up ordering delivery utilizing Uber Eats. We got the best of both worlds and grabbed a couple of breakfast sandwiches and doughnuts, all of which cost us around $16.00, not bad at all. As mentioned above, they offer more than just doughnuts and coffee with a wide variety of breakfast sandwiches that are really well priced and definitely filling! The sandwiches start at $3.50 for an egg/cheese and go up to $5.95 for a turkey bacon/egg/cheese. All sandwiches can be made on a croissant, french roll or a bagel. I opted for the sausage/egg/cheese on a french roll ($4.95), while my partner got a ham/egg/cheese on a croissant ($4.00). Lastly, we got (2) donuts, one plain glazed and one chocolate along with 1 ounce of doughnut holes. Basic doughnuts run $1.00 each and doughnut holes are by the ounce, starting at $1.25. The sandwiches were excellent. The french bread was soft and warm, truly a perfect vessel for the sausage/egg and cheese. Something that also impressed me was the ratio of food to french roll. Normally when you get a breakfast sandwich on any kind of baguette style roll, the ends are always void of filling - not here! The meat, egg and cheese went all the way to each end making for a filling and flavorful bite from start to finish. Overall, I am happy to have stumbled across this place and happy to see they are expanding around the city! We will certainly be back!

I came here on National Donut day and ended up spending close to $10 on donuts. Everything was fresh and it smelled amazing when you walked into this location. The employees were nice and efficient. I will be back!

THE BEST donuts around! I have tried several donuts shops in the atl area and this one knocks it out of the parks. And don't even get me started on the yummy Horchata iced coffee! The hospitality was incredible and everyone was so kind. Definitely check this place out!!

The staff is very friendly and the donuts were so good even at noon. I came two mornings in a row while we were in town and both times were great. I definitely recommend their iced coffees or cappuccinos as well. I wish there was a place like this back home!

I wish I would've jumped on this place sooner, OMG! What an excellent assortment of donuts. I was running tight on time and checked out the menu in advance and noticed that you could call ahead. I called at 8am for an assorted dozen and was able to pick up at 8:20!! And I paid $12. What in the world! This place has a great assortment of drinks (cold milks, soda, energy drinks, water), as well as wonderful coffee options. One thing that I wished were different: call ahead should be ready to pay upon arrival. Choosing donuts can make or break any morning, so the selection process is time consuming. But the wait gave me time to take in the smells, sights and the overall ambiance! TL/DR: great selection, social distancing enforced, wonderfully priced, friendly/accommodating staff
