Service 10 out of 5. Where do they find these employees from? We came in at 9 and kitchen closed at 9:30pm I think. We were welcomed in. Everyone was smiling. Manager, chef, dish washer, everyone. They taken care of us until we leave. Food is great. Good portion, fresh, well-seasoned, very appealing. Everything taste like what they supposed to be. Price is very reasonable. We ordered 8 items and a boba tea. Total was $72.30 with tax Since the location is on the second floor, you can have a street view through the large, fixed panel windows while you enjoy your food.

Google
Dough Zone is a chain from the west coast, a lot of folks like to compare it to Din Tai Fung (DTF). In my opinion, DTF is the gold standard for amazing soup dumplings and anything that’s dumpling, wonton, or noodle related. It’s just great Chinese comfort food done right and consistently no matter where you go. This Dough Zone is my first time here but my 2nd time trying this chain. First time was in the mid town location when it first opened. I thought the food at that time was just okay, the soup dumpling skin is bit thicker than I prefer. If you have had DTF their soup dumplings are the right ratio. I decided to order the cucumber, potstickers, soup dumplings, onion pancake, spicy beef roll, pan fried pork bun and spicy noodle. Nothing we ate was really memorable, it was okay. Houston has really good Asian food and it’s tough to stand out. Wanna Bao & one dragon have way better soup dumplings and pan fried dumplings. If you’re looking for a quick fix of Chinese comfort food then Dough Zone isn’t a bad option but Houston has better options.

Google
Amazing food and service! We got the dan dan noodles, pork soup dumplings, shrimp and zucchini steamed dumplings, sweet and sour cucumber, and pork bao buns. Everything was so delicious and perfectly seasoned!

Google
Nice place!! Very clean. First off, I will say that prices are very reasonable, and it’s a great value! I recommend the soup dumplings, sweet and sour cucumbers, and wonton dumplings in chili sauce. The cucumbers are prepped so nicely and afe crunchy, refreshing, and satisfying, and the soup dumpling is yummy. I really liked the wonton dumplings too. The potstickers are decent. The beef stew is also good, but I do NOT recommend the Dan Dan noodle or the Banana Naan. The Dan Dan noodles, I can’t describe but it has an odd flavor that most people might not be accustomed to. I would lean towards the beef stew, that is more flavorful and easier enjoyable. Regarding the banana naan, there were so LITTLE banana inside, and the naan is not even naan. It’s mediocre and is overpriced; I feel like you can probably just make it even better at home. But, just choose the right dishes and it will be delicious! Four stars overall.

Google
Fast and delicious food. Quite easy to order and several options to pick from. Can do better with the noodles and added spice. Soup dumplings were hot and delicious. Clean tables and chairs as well as the restrooms. Small plates and portions so you can order more variety and good for sharing.

Google
Friendly staff, beautiful spot on the second floor with patio space. The food was good but not great to me, except the cucumbers. Those were our favorite. I wish the glass noodles were cut before being served. They were stuck together. Soup dumplings were good in taste but I’ve had better. Pot stickers were a second fav of mine. It tasted house made. I’m open to trying more things on the menu.

Google
The dumplings were absolutely amazing! Really good flavors across the board with dumplings, baos, and noodles! Definitely recommend the soup dumplings if you've never tried them before. Portions were nice and large. Really good bang for your buck! The staff and the manager working were really really nice and helpful. Had good recommendations and also promptly switched out a plate of dumplings he brought out after he noticed something slightly off with them as he put them down before we said anything at all.

Google
I had an amazing experience at Dough Zone! The service was nice with a manager who seems truly invested in ensuring customer satisfaction. It was a very welcoming experience with great ambiance. I tried the Sour Plum Juice with boba, which had a perfect balance of sweetness. I also had the Passion Fruit Tea, which was also fantastic, and adding boba helped balance its sweetness. The Sweet and Sour Cucumber is a must-try – it's the perfect blend of flavors and not too spicy. Overall, the food here is incredible. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Ambiance, the price and quality of the food is amazing and affordable!! My husband loves to come twice a week with our two year old baby Our lovely server Niki, always serves us and remembers our drinks she's very attentive and our baby love to come and eat dumplings, creating a good experience for my family !

Yelp
This location was actually so much nicer than I expected! And the food was amazing. And I love how if you go close to when they open, the soy sauce and vinegar bottles are all still chilled and it's just nice to eat your steaming food with the cold sauces. We got the sweet and sour cucumbers which were so crisp and delicious. This is perfect for non spicy lovers as most other places will put some sort of chili oil. The yibin noodles were really good and had a slight peanutty taste. And the texture was perfectly al dente. But the serving size was kind of small. The green onion pancake was good and crispy but I don't think it's that worth to order. It would be just as good to buy it frozen and make it yourself. The soup dumplings were amazing too. And honestly, a really good price compared to other soup dumpling locations. The pork one was classic and my favorite. The pork and crab meat was good too. I was pleasantly surprised because I've had soup dumplings with crab before and its always been too fishy for my taste. But here you can taste the crab without it being too overwhelming. The pan fried pork buns were okay. I thought it would be a lot juicier. When I've had it at other places, it will literally squirt when you bite into it. But that didn't happen here. And I really like that you can order frozen versions of some of the dishes to take home.

Yelp
Everything we ordered was bland. You're better off getting dumplings at well known Chinatown restaurants. The scallion pancake was too oily and did not have a good mouthfeel. Very thin. The pork baozi was disappointing and wasn't juicy, and the bao felt tough...almost like they bought frozen baozi from the grocery store and just steamed it and served. The xiaolong bao wrapper was too thick, and again no flavour. You're better off getting good ones at wanna bao restaurant. Would not recommend coming here for dim sum/dumplings.

Yelp
My new goal is to try all the dumplings in Houston, while it is unattainable due to the many good dumpling places, this was certainly a good place to stop. I believe it is a small chain, but it still has the service of a mom and pop restaurant. It also had adult beverages but I didn't partake that night. I ordered the soup dumplings and the wanton soup. Both were tasty and just what I was looking for. If you find your self looking for dumplings, this place is solid and won't disappoint.

Yelp
My friends and I visited Dough Zone on a weekday evening. We were seated right away as the restaurant wasn't busy, with only two other small parties dining at the time. The restaurant is located in the BLVD Plaza, so parking is plentiful, though the area can get quite busy. The ambiance and decor were nice, but the service was just okay--nothing noteworthy. We ordered the pork and crab meat xiao long bao since they were out of both the pork and chicken xiao long bao. Along with that, we tried the dan dan noodles, beef steamed dumplings, pork wontons in chicken broth, and beef stew noodle soup. Unfortunately, I wasn't too impressed with any of the dishes. The food felt overrated, especially considering how many other dumpling houses in Houston offer better quality and flavor. A common issue across the xiao long bao soup, beef noodle soup, wonton soup, and dan dan noodles was how overly salty everything tasted, which was disappointing. Overall, while the ambiance was nice, I wouldn't recommend this spot and would suggest exploring other dumpling options in the city.

Yelp
I received an impromptu lunch invite from a group of co-workers to take a walk to Dough. Man, the idea of having a variety of dumplings sounded so good to me. It was a great experience. We had to select all of our items together. So be prepared for that. I guess this spot great for family style dinning/sharing. The service was great. The dumplings were great, especially the fried ones...I think those are considered pot stickers. Now, I must warn you to be careful with the amazingly, fun soup dumplings. Somehow they've managed to place soup on rhe inside of a dumpling and if you're not careful, it will explode everywhere when you bite into it!!!! Just know that I was wearing a lot of soup on my shirt....Lastly, they have a few noodle options as well that are delicious. Needless to say, it is a great place to try!

Yelp
Our family had dinner here last weekend with another family (6 of us total). The location is within the Whole Foods Plaza in the Post Oak area. There is some construction underway so the restaurant was a bit hard to find (some of the wayfinding signs point you straight into a wall). The decor is contemporary and minimalist. Clean, open space. The service was very good. We had a variety of dumplings, the Dan Dan noodles and the seasoned cucumber. Overall, the dumplings were the highlight of the meal. The non-dumpling dishes were okay. The dumplings generally were "good." If this restaurant were in Los Angeles (where we're from), I might have given the restaurant a lower rating but this is about the best dumpling restaurant we've found in Houston thus far (and we've tried a lot of them).

Yelp
Meh. I wasn't very impressed. Everything was just okay. I made a reservation thinking it would be crowded on a Sunday morning but it wasn't. My friend and I ordered the beef pancake roll but received the green onion pancakes. I didn't mind because I liked pancakes too but when my friend mentioned it to the server he brought out the beef roll for free. I honestly liked both more than the dumplings. The beef roll was filled with flavorful beef and the pancakes were crispy although plain. The broccoli wasn't too mushy and seemed fresh enough. I found myself dipping them in the sauce since there wasn't any seasoning. The chicken wontons were a bit plain as well without the sweet and spicy sauce. I also tried the chicken xiao long bao which was pretty good. I'm glad I stopped in but I think I'm spoiled living in Houston with so many good choices for dumplings. The service was great and the space immaculately clean.

Yelp
Unfortunately, my experience at Dough Zone was quite disappointing. While the staff were very friendly during my wait for a to-go order--easily the highlight of the visit--the food fell far short of expectations. Everything I tried was doughy and flavorless, which made for a rather unappetizing meal. Given the poor quality of the food, I don't think I'll be returning. It's a shame because the service was pleasant, but that alone wasn't enough to make up for the lackluster food.

Yelp
I've been to dough zone before in Houston and it was just as delicious as I remembered. They had more noodle options here so we got to try the Yibin noodles. Those were tangy and delicious. We also ordered the cucumber salad. I wished it had more spice but I enjoyed it. We also ordered Xiao Long Baos. The pork ones and the crab ones. I think the pork ones are the way to go unless you really like crab flavor. We were a pretty large group but they were able to seat us at one table and the food came out pretty quickly! All the windows brought some nice natural lighting. Definitely check this place out when you're in Houston!

Yelp
Wrapped up a day of building ikea sets with dinner at dough zone. This is a relatively new dumpling chain and I went to their location in uptown. You would think that this is an expensive location due to being in an upscale area but this is one of the most cheapest dumpling places I've been to! (Outside of bellaire). They have free parking in the garage and have outdoor seating as well. I tried their pork and crab xiao long bao (soup dumplings), green onion pancake, steamed pork buns, pork and shrimp pan fried dumplings, and pork wontons with chili sauce. The soup dumplings had a lot of soup in them and the broth was good. I couldn't really taste the crab but I still liked it. The pancake was crispy but I thought it was just average, nothing good or bad about it. The wontons had almost no sauce at all but the flavor of the meat was soo soo good. The pan fried dumplings have a sheet that is basically like chips that you can eat with the dumplings. The pork buns are perfect for scooping up some chili oil. Overall a pretty solid meal and very great value if you want to try different items on a budget. The service here is good too

Yelp
The foods were great. We really enjoyed the soup dumplings, pan fried dumplings and Dan Dan noodles. The must try Q Bao was a little bit disappointing. I think not enough meat for the flavors. Beef noodle soup was descent, but not super standout. Green onion pancakes.... Definitely too greasy tho. Wish it's less greasy for the next time. However, it's a cute place, and the natural light during the day was perfect for the foodstagram.... lol.

Yelp
A couple of these have popped up around the city recently and after having tried the first spot in midtown, I brought the wife and kid to this location to try it on for consistency sakes. Still clean and modern like the other spot. Big windows make for good lighting. The free parking in the garage is always a plus and it's not super difficult to find. It is in the second floor facing San Felipe if you do find yourself walking around. The service was highly and engaged and helpful. All the staff walking around, including the manager were polite and available. The midtown location had a better idea with the runners who brought to food; they had them talk to you and explain the dish just a bit while playing for you. Our runners were just some teenagers who'd rather not talk unless they had to. The food is exactly what it needs to be honestly. The Xiao Long Bao are truly some of my favorite that I've had in Houston. The dumplings hold together nicely, which means you actually get to eat the soup. Taste and texture are both 5/5 for the soup dumplings. Q Bao also make a really good impression and have that great mix of soft and fluffy with a crispy bottom that's hard to beat. The rest of the menu just kinda exists for me. Yhe dumplings are obviously the hook, and having too many dishes that aren't that or noodles would defeat the theme so I get it. I think a way around that would be some punchy sauces that you could use to put on top of the meals. Some drinks can be order, we enjoyed our Ube Tea with boba. There's some alcohol as well. It's a nice place to come hang out in my opinion. You can order as much of something as you like and just nibble on things for a while.

Yelp
So much to say here! I've never tried soup dumplings before, because at a lot of places they have pork ones only, and I don't eat pork. I have heard rave reviews of this place, and they have chicken soup dumplings, so I was sold for a visit! A few friends and I met up at the one in downtown only to discover that the soup dumplings were crossed off the menu at that location! After some disappointment we realized the post oak location wasn't too far, we called ahead, validated they had them and off we went! We were seated right away, and as always over-ordered so we could try everything! Here's a list of everything we ordered and our thoughts: 1. Spicy beef pancake roll- so good! Very heavy on peppercorn so beware if that's not your thing. 2. Chicken soup dumplings- excited to try them, but I felt a bit meh about them. They were constructed well, did not fall apart, and had a good amount of broth in them. 3. Romaine lettuce with sweet spicy garlic dressing- loved this. Simple but the dressing has a nice slight kick! 4. Chicken and vegetable wontons with chili sauce- had to be hands down my favorite. So so good, I wanted way more of these. 5. Chicken potstickers- these were average 6. Chicken steamed dumplings- average but well constructed Our food was served right away and everything was fresh! My chief complaint and why I won't be returning was how we were treated. All of us felt like we were being rushed out as soon as we finished. We were sitting around chit chatting, and there were other patrons and people even still being seated. They came around and said they'd bring a check, without checking if we were ready for the check, if we were thinking of ordering anything else,if we wanted to take our leftovers. Just- we're bringing the check. Two seconds later the server is at our table with the machine. We wondered if it's because they were closing but- no- there was still 40 minutes left until close. After that 6 more folks walked in to be seated! It felt personal, and uncalled for. We were in the mood for dessert but decided to go elsewhere, where we would be welcomed and treated better. There was no reason for that kind of behavior, and we were all pretty upset.

Yelp
Been looking for a place like this for awhile in Houston...before you say they have them in Bellaire Chinatown...that's not entirely accurate. I haven't found a nicer ambiance dumpling restaurant/with great taste yet. Dough Zone is based out of the west coast...and it's probably as close we would get to a DTF style eatery at the moment. The menu isn't very large, but a lot of great offerings to choose from. I ordered a bunch of different types of dumplings: XLB - flavorful and soup within is tasty. Pan fried - uniquely fried and very good. Green onion pancake - it was just ok...barely taste any onion but def tasted fried. Picky eaters would love this. Spicy pork dumpling - also good, not too spicy. Q bao...EXCELLENT! My favorite item on the menu. Great size! Even the ube and Thai milk teas were great! Service was fast and attentive. Our food came out quick. And the price! The price is great for the taste and for what is offered. I will be back!

Yelp
Definitely recommend! Food had great flavor, service was fast, every dish was consistent with good quality & cleanliness. Interior was nice & clean very spacious so lots of seats available for large groups. Great prices, great dishes/variety & great flavor!

Yelp
Dough zone is a chain that hails from Seattle and makes its way to the Houston food scene. We had the Xiao long bao, Pan fried dumplings, and pan fried baos. I don't have anything to complain about, but it is your standard Chinese food. Just felt that it was missing some flavor. Parking is in the parking garage on the second floor next to North Italia! Service was quick and courteous.

Yelp
Some reviewers on here said that Dough Zone is the closest thing to Din Tai Fung in the Houston area and I'd have to agree! Upon walking in, we were immediately greeted and noticed how cute the restaurant was. Ordering was simple, the server hands you a paper to check off the items that you'd like to order (similar to what you'd do at a dimsum restaurant). We ordered sweet and sour cucumbers, zha jiang mian, dan dan noodles, banana naan, chili wontons, pork and shrimp potstickers (not pictured), pork and crab meat xlb (also not pictured). We enjoyed everything but especially the cucumbers, banana naan, and the pork and crab meat xlb. The cucumbers were very comparable to DTF's. The banana naan, while it sounds and looks so unassuming, I loved!!! It was perfectly sweet. XLB was tasty too. A common critique that I have for soup dumplings is that it is too soggy and falls apart when you pull it off from the parchment paper. That didn't happen with the xlb here! A dish that we would probably skip out on next time is the zha jiang mian. I believe that I've had better zha jiang mian elsewhere. For my friends that eat halal, vegan, or vegetarian, there are plenty of items on the menu at Dough Zone for you! As for the location, it is in the same plaza as Whole Foods by the Galleria and located on the 2nd floor. Look for the parking garage entrance towards the back of North Italia and park on the 2nd floor for easy access to Dough Zone.

Yelp
The service here is impeccable! I came with my sister's family (including 2 small kids). The staff was very patient and accommodating. We asked for no onions on one of the soups. When our waiter saw that it was brought out with onions, he immediately put in for another bowl without onions, and it came very fast. Food was so delicious, comparable to Din Tai Fung in Las Vegas if you've been. I actually like the pan fried wontons at Dough Zone more. The wonton skin is not too thíck, and texture is a little chewy, with I LOVE. It was a bit oily on the bottom, but not anything that would stop me from ordering again. The garlic sauce is drool worthy for sure! The noodle dishes are great choices as well. Everything is done just right, great broth, good portion of vegetable and meat. I would like to have bokchoy instead of lettuce in the beef noodle soup, but again, not a huge deal. I see myself coming back here time and time again, bringing family and friends, especially when the service is exceptional!

Yelp
Went to the one in midtown and then discovered while in the area this has a patio. Heck yes! It was as the sun going down so i recommend sunglasses just in case. The dandan noodles did your lips a little tingle from the spice but they are great. The cucumbers were the hidden gem for us. We ordered them since they looked cool but the perfect taste and crunch. The dumplings were all good. The x bao were the standouts. The service was great. The drinks always full. The servers each asked if we wanted to move due to the sun which I thought was thoughtful. Overall I wouldn't call it overly romantic. The restaurant is very clean and the patio was nice spacing and still good service.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place. Went for a yelp event a few weeks back with my sister and loved the dishes we got to try, so we knew we needed to come back. Today went with my sister, cousin, and aunt. We got Crab & pork soup dumplings Beef shank Chicken and vegetables wontons (w/chili sauce) Green onion pancake Q-bao Beef pancake roll And ube milk tea (one person got passion fruit tea) Everything was absolutely delicious. We ordered a few things that we had already tried at the yelp event, and ordered some new things. One of them being the wontons and wow that's a new favorite. (Not sure if it was the owner or manager) but he noticed how much we loved the wontons and the sauce that he gave us another order complimentary. This place is not close to us, but it's worth the drive and we can't wait to come back for a 3rd time.

Yelp
Great food - our favorite was the chicken and vegetable with chili oil dumplings! The pan fried bao's were our last favorite (still good but didn't have as much flavor as the others). No problem with the service and ambiance gives a causal type feel!

Yelp
I had a sudden craving for dumplings last night, and Dough Zone came into my mind. I reached at 11:10am and I was the first customer. People started to trickle in 20mins later. The restaurant was clean and I love the outdoor seating that overlooked the city. The staff were very friendly and attentive, and got my order in at lightening speed. I had the beef steamed dumplings, vegetable pot stickers, pork & shrimp boiled dumplings, and pork & crab meat xiao long bao. All the dumplings had thin wraps, and the filling to dough ratios were perfect. The fillings were well seasoned too. The xiao long bao had such flavorful soup in it, eating these dumplings was so satisfying. The xiao long bao and all dumplings had to be eaten hot! The pot stickers were must-try. The crispy top was crunchy and good. I opted for vegetable pot stickers because I have never tried such combination. It did not disappoint! I would have it again! My craving was satisfied! I hope they will expand their menu to include some dessert dumplings like red bean steamed dumplings or pan fried red bean pancake.

Yelp
I came here for a yelp elite event here and I really liked the food so I decided to take my aunt and cousin here. We ordered the Crab & pork soup dumplings, Beef shank, Chicken and vegetables wontons (w/chili sauce), Green onion pancake Q-bao, Beef pancake roll And ube milk tea (one person got passion fruit tea). Everything was super delicious.

Yelp
Located on the second floor of a food/shopping area/Whole Foods Market, Dough Zone is a great place to enjoy some good, homemade, tasty dumplings and other Asian foods without having to break the bank! I was recommended by a friend to come and try out this place, any have said that this place was a good substitute to the infamous Din Tai Fung. I was at first a little speculative because I usually have my own places that I would like to go to have dumplings and etc. Some of the items that we ordered were the Beef Sandwich, Pan Fried Dumplings, Pork and Shrimp Xiao Long Bao, Green Onion Pancake, and Dan Dan Noodles. Overall as a meal, I enjoyed all of these things, especially since most of these things you are able to share with a friend. The service and servers were nice and efficent when taking care of my friend and I. They were polite, and they don't push you out quickly like other Asian restaurants do to get more business. There was plenty of seating and the place gets pretty full with hungry customers. My only thing I would be aware of when planning for this food adventure is the parking. There are some parking spots in the front near the escalator that takes you upstairs to the restaurant, but there is also a parking garage, so have no fear!
google avatar

Veronica L.

Yelp
I enjoyed my dining experience here! The location is good & there's also free parking in the garage. I love how there's an outdoor balcony seating area also! We tried the cold sichuan noodles (not super spicy & the noodle texture was al dente!), xlb, spicy wonton dumplings & the cold spicy cucumber! Everything was good & I really enjoyed the service!

Yelp
Good solid Chinese dumplings in a ok ambience. Greta price point and quick service. Perfect place to satisfy that dumpling craving.

Yelp
Hubs and I had lunch on a Friday - got there before noon, it was quiet and probably a quarter full so our food came out pretty fast. However, when we placed a to-go order, the restaurant quickly became full and our to-go order took forever. Xiao long baos and potstickers were great. The potstickers were juicy! I liked the sweet and spicy garlic kale - it was tasty and made the meal feel so much healthier (although there were quite a lot of thick stalks). I wasn't a fan of the Jianbing - I am actually not sure what it's supposed to taste like but it was bland and soggy for me. The beef pancakes were okay - I've had them at a place in Plano, TX that were SO good so these were disappointing to me. The banana naan was also underwhelming - dipping it in whipped cream didn't make it better. They do sell the xiao long baos frozen and I am contemplating picking up a bag. I think it was about $30 for 30 dumplings? Staff was very friendly. Just try to stay away from peak times - get there earlier! Dough Zone is right above True Foods - so either park in the garage (entrance by North) - go to the second level and park near the orange area or park outside in front of Whole Foods and take the escalator by True Foods up.

Yelp
I get Dough Zone all the time when I'm visiting my home town in Seattle so I was super excited when they opened one in HTX! For this location, it can be super confusing so just a heads up! On the GPS, it says that Dough Zone is right next to Whole Foods but it's more accurately located next to True Food Kitchen and The Original Ninfa's Uptwon (you take the escalators up and it's on the left hand side). There is the parking Garage for Whole Foods as well as the back area so don't worry if you can't find a spot in front of the building. My friend and I got the Pork & Crab Xiao Long Bao, Fried Wontons with Sweet Spicy Garlic Sauce, Q-Bao, Chicken & Vegetable Wontons with Hot & Sour Sauce, and Szechuan Cold Noodles. The Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings) are obviously a must get everytime I visit dough zone and the same thing goes for the Q-Bao's. I've never tried the Chicken & Vegetable Wontons before but I enjoyed the soup that it came in. The same thing goes for the fried wontons- the sauce was great! There was nothing wrong with the noodles but it wasn't anything special so I would probably skip this one next time. Another FYI is that if you check in using the Yelp app, you can get 1 free meny item! Overall, the food was good, the restaurant was clean, and the service was extremely friendly and attentive! I really appreciate how our waiter was very welcoming and attentive. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
A few weeks ago during the post-Beryl power outage, I was craving soup dumplings. Unfortunately for me, dough zone was a popular comfort food and they had sold out of soup dumplings. They do, however, sell frozen soup dumplings. I called and basically begged for them to let me buy a bag of soup dumplings, but also prepare some for me to eat since I was lacking power. The manager was so so nice to me and accommodated my request. I ended up with spicy beef roll, soup dumplings and a cucumber salad. It was the PERFECT comfort meal. I wish they had more protein forward items on their menu to balance out my meal of "dough" but their food is very high quality. For take out they have tons of great chili oil and sauces to take home with you. The manager insisted on getting me a drink while I waited. Great experience & I will gladly be back to eat in next time.

Yelp
3.5 but I rounded up. My first time here was a yelp event so I was excited to try it again in my own. I ordered for pickup and boy do they have branding down. I'm not businessman but seems like a big money hole lol. Anyway I tried several items. I am not a fan of the numbing Szechuan food as I don't find it spicy, just tingling. I didn't realize though that all of their spicy items have this even if it's not in the name/description. So the spicy vegetarian noodles were a no for me. I also got chicken dumplings in chicken soup which was the best dish. The shrimp and Zuchini dumplings were a bit gummy like the dough was undercooked. The chicken soup dumplings were a hit as always. All in all I was less impressed than when I came for the Yelp event but perhaps these are items best consumed in the premises.

Yelp
Really enjoyed our lunch here! The service was friendly and the food was delicious, especially the Pork Soup Dumplings (we got 2 servings - get this!) and the Q-Bao (Pan fried pork buns) which we agree are a must try. I did enjoy the Dan Dan Noodles too. Unfortunately the Beef Pancake roll was a miss for all of us; I found the pancake too dry and the meat too greasy for my taste. However, I'd come back anytime for first 2 items which I felt hit the spot! The ambiance is no casual, family friendly, and there is a big room for a large party, which is always a plus.

Yelp
Amazing food. Haven't been to dough zone in a while, and I was not disappointed. Definitely get both pork and chicken soup dumplings, cucumber, pan fried bao, pan fried dumplings, pig ear, green onion pancake, and the chili wonton noodles. Yes... Get all of em. Great service as well!

Yelp
I went here with my parents recently and ordered Steamed Beef Dumplings, Pan-Fried Beef Dumplings, Steamed Veggie Dumplings, Scallion Pancakes. The Steamed Beef Dumplings were very delicious in the meat filling, especially with a very juicy texture and kabob type of flavor in them. The wrap was good, but general. However, the Veggie Dumplings were soft and juicy, but not very flavorful. Veggie dumplings can be awesome too. I remember Feng Ling on Westheimer when it was around made them really good as does Dumpling King. The Pan Fried Beef Dumplings had good crisp and an acceptable taste. The Scallion Pancakes were mostly bread and nothing special. Good service. If I ever come back, it will be for the steamed beef ones.

Yelp
Seriously so good. Where do I start? The service was great! It was our first time there and they were very helpful, the vibe of the restaurant was uptown chic, chill but could be a special occasion place too. Now for the food. We ordered like 5 different things the steamed chicken and shrimp dumplings, the chicken wontons, the kale and sesame salad, and the chicken potstickers. Everything was incredible, flavorful and did I mention super fast!! The price is so good and the food taste amazing. Definitely will be back. 10/10 recommend!

Yelp
Visited the new Dough Zone Dumpling House in Uptown Houston, open for about six weeks, and had a fantastic experience. Convenient parking and extremely friendly, helpful staff who guided us through the menu and sauce-making tips. We enjoyed the pork-filled steamed potstickers--handmade, pan-fried, crispy on the bottom, juicy inside--and the Berkshire-Duroc Pork & Crab Meat Soup Dumplings, which were both fun to eat and delicious. The refreshing milk tea was a perfect complement. Highly recommended!

Yelp
I've been here a bunch of times. It's a huge space and it's usually pretty empty, which is sad bc I like the food here. This location has rotated a bunch of restaurants over the last few years, so I hope this place sticks around for a while. I usually order a variety of the soup dumplings, Dan Dan noodles, sesame noodles, scallion pancake, chili oil dumplings, and cucumber!

Yelp
It has been a while since I found a new restaurant that I am SO excited about but that's exactly what I found in Dough Zone. The parking is plentiful and free and it's located in a nice part of town. The interior of the restaurant is modern, sleek and open. It's very casual and affordable while still feeling a bit upscale. There is an expansive patio that is dog friendly and floor to ceiling windows that lend a beautiful view of the sky and skyscrapers nearby. The music they play is relaxing and add to the ambience. The service is wonderful each time, the employees are friendly, prompt and knowledgeable. I felt very welcomed and taken care of during both of my visits. The food gets to the table quickly & ordering is a breeze with a sheet on which you check off the items you want to try. The food itself is absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. You can spend under $20 here and leave very satisfied. My first visit, I got the Dan Dan noodles, which are slightly spicy and packed with umami flavor. The sauce is velvety smooth and coats each noodle perfectly. So much flavor in a simple bowl of noodles. The portion sizes are slightly small so I order at least two things when I visit. The steamed dumpling and potstickers are both wonderful as well, as are the green onion pancakes. I am a vegetarian and this place has plenty of options for me which is always appreciated. My only critique would be that they need to change the paper menu they give you to properly identify the vegetarian/vegan options. There were only 3 things labeled as vegan on the paper menu, when in actuality there are a multitude of meat free options on the actual menu. I almost left when I first saw the paper menu because I thought there weren't enough options for me. All in all, I would highly recommend this place & I will be back.

Yelp
The restaurant is quite clean and modern looking, so I liked the atmosphere. Service was fine, the servers were nice and friendly. Food wise; I think you get what you paid for. It's on the cheaper end of the spectrum for xiao long bao, but I think the flavor lives up to the cost. Compare that to a place like Din Tai Fung which will be triple the price for only a slight bump in flavor, and I think Dough Zone is a fine restaurant if you want a good quality-price-ratio. However, I'd probably just stick to their bao, the vegetable dishes were very mediocre and the jian bing guo zi was so small and falling apart. Overall 3.5/5 but I'll bump them up to 4, so stick to their bao.

Yelp
We've done mostly take out, and it's fresh, well packaged and labeled, and delicious! They have small prices, so expect small portions, but sometimes that's exactly what you want! Delicious!

Yelp
Been served by Derik last few times I've been in. He is so personable and friendly. Another awesome experience at Dough Zone!

Yelp
get a free order of xiao long bao (or dish of your choice) when you visit the new uptown location in houston! ps: you can also get an extra $5 off when you sign up as an elite member! this is my second time eating at dough zone and i loved it just as much as the first time. the new uptown location offers a larger, more open space flooded with natural light, creating an inviting atmosphere! my new go-to location! our favs were the dan dan noodles and pork xiao long bao but everything was so yummy! i enjoyed every bite of this meal! what we got: - pork xiao long bao - dan dan noodles - spicy (ma la) noodles - pork wontons with chili sauce - fried wontons with sweet spicy garlic sauce ig: @whatsviveating

Yelp
I want to like this place more. Service was great, price was great, ambiance was great, but the food was just ok. Don't expect Din Tai Fung amazing or maybe even Chinatown amazing, this place is what you would expect a dumpling restaurant to taste like in the Galleria. Our favorite dish was the wontons in chili sauce and the banan-naan. Soup dumplings were ok; it was just too thick / dough-y. I guess their name explains it all - the dough zone!

Yelp
We ordered the cucumber, pork ears, beef roll pancake, Q-bao, beef pan fried dumplings, pork soup dumplings, pork and shrimp soup dumplings, and Ube milk teas. The cucumbers tasted more sweet than your traditional cucumbers, more for the pleasing anesthetics of finely sliced cucumber that is all attached together and you are able to lift up with your fork or chopsticks and it will hold as one. If you've never tried the pork ears, I would not let this be your first place to try them, go to Chinatown and get them from San dong noodle house. Here at dough zone they were slimy, not the texture you really want from eating. Beef roll pancake, meat was good, the outside was crispy but it made it crumbly, almost felt like I was eating a taco Q-bao is listed as a "must try" on the menu they describe it as soft on top and crispy on the bottom. I guess it just lacked flavor from the other Q baos or crispy baos I've tasted like wannabaos, their crispy baos are small but on point because they are a little crispy everywhere and the bottom. Here the baos were crispy on the bottom and soft on top like advertised, not sure about must have though Beef pan fried dumplings: this came out last, it has a pretty lace fried bottom to connect the dumplings together, when we took a bite into it, it was chicken, Server was quick to take care of that and got us the right order. We were pretty full when it came out so we took one bite and took the rest to go. Pork soup dumplings, best item that we tried. They suggest the vinegar and ginger dipping, but that was just okay. Pork shrimp soup dumplings, I would just choose the pork soup dumplings The Uber milk tea, probably powder but refreshing and much better tasting than the water :) I would go back again, but I'd probably just choose to have the pork soup dumplings and ube milk tea.

Yelp
I really like that the service is really good and the food comes out one thing at a time at a great pace so you can try everything as you go. The dan dan noodles are slightly spicy but it's more a tingle. The soup dumplings are so good but my favorite are the pan fried dumplings (q-bao)! The cucumber salad is a great refreshing dish and for me a must try the scallion pancake is really not as special but still a great side. The space is nice and I've gone at lunch and dinner and it's not very crowded. Definitely a fun sharing experience for a family or group of friends.

Yelp
The food was ok. I really think the service is just amazing. But, the little balcony makes the ambiance so nice. I might try again if in the area.
