I was very excited to try this place…but sadly was underwhelmed. The service was the best part, I sat up at the bar and had a great experience with the bartender. She was super knowledgeable and made some menu suggestions-that I acted on. She raved about the rotisserie chicken that they make in house. I got a salad that had the rotisserie chicken on it and was excited to try. It was the Mediterranean salad. I made one modification to the salad, just asked for one item to be removed. Other than that I ordered it the way it came. I also ordered the truffle cheese bread. Which was great. It came out quickly. Unfortunately the salad was a huge letdown. It came with the ingredient I asked to be removed. The lettuce itself was poor quality, all the ingredients as toppings we’re chopped inconsistently and there was no dressing on my salad when it arrived. The rotisserie chicken was alright, good. But not great. I got my check and paid. After I paid the bartender noticed I didn’t touch the salad-she said that she would call over the manager to take off the salad. I appreciated the effort. They refunded my card and charged me just for my drink + truffle bread. The aesthetic in the restaurant was beautiful, quiet at lunch time. The bartender encouraged me to return and try a pizza, that the pizza’s were really their shining moment.

We tried Doughbird tonight and I had high expectations because I think Sam Fox's restaurants have all set a high bar. The restaurant looks great inside, but I had to deduct a couple of stars because of the noise level. We could barely hear each other and it was obvious others felt the same way, given how many people we heard shouting. Our server, Leoncio was very upbeat and attentive. He made some good recommendations and didn't steer us wrong. We had the Truffle Cheese Bread, the Chicken Avocado Salad and the Rotisserie chicken. All of them were fantastic. The mashed potatoes were a little saltier than I prefer, but we're full of flavor. Overall it was a great meal, but don't know if I'd eat here on a busy night again.

I’ll start by saying the service was great, and our server was very attentive. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to expectations. The Mediterranean salad felt like something I could throw together at home, the salmon plate was bland, and the gluten-free pizza was disappointing—the pepperoni was so salty it was inedible. I had high hopes for this place since I love Flower Child, but sadly, it missed the mark.

Doughbird on Lovers Lane brings a stylish vibe to the neighborhood. The menu boasts a tempting array of salads, sandwiches, chicken, pasta, and pizza, complemented by well-crafted cocktails and a rotating beer selection. While the food is flavorful, prices lean toward the higher side, but that's to be expected in this area. Areas for improvement: Timing is key: There was a significant delay between our appetizer and entree, disrupting the dining flow. Attention to detail: One entree arrived with an incorrect side and missing dipping sauce, a minor but noticeable oversight. Temperature control: The table we were at was a bit chilly. This might have been isolated, but it impacted our comfort. Napkin necessity: The glasses were sweating profusely, leading to water pooling and dripping. Napkins for drink placement would be a thoughtful touch. Overall, Doughbird has potential. With a few tweaks to service and ambiance, it can truly shine. Despite the hiccups, I'll definitely give it another try.

The staff here is really nice & everything our waiter Kamami recommended was great. My family enjoyed our dinner tonight. Food came out hot and fast. Good service, food, and atmosphere. Even if the food was bad, which it wasn't, our waiter Kamami service was so good it would have made up for it. We'll definitely be back here.

Featuring pizza and chicken dishes, Doughbird sits along the well traveled Lovers and Inwood dining corridor. A great place to meet family and friends. A diverse menu in a beautiful space.

We are avid Flower Child fanatics, so when I found out they opened a new restaurant down the street, we had to check it out on the grand opening, and I can confidently say that DOUGH BIRD is a game-changer for our local food scene!! From the moment we walked in, the experience was nothing short of phenomenal. This place is super cute inside! It took us a whole 30 minutes to decide because the menu looked way too delicious! Let’s start with the food. The pizza was out of this world—perfectly crispy crust, flavorful sauce, and just the right amount of toppings. Every bite was a slice of heaven. The fried chicken sandwich was equally impressive, with juicy, tender chicken and a crispy coating that had just the right crunch. It’s easily one of the best I’ve ever had. But the surprises didn’t stop there. The pimento cheese guacamole was an unexpected delight—rich, creamy, and with a unique twist that left us wanting more. And then there was the lemon pie. Oh, the lemon pie! The perfect balance of tart and sweet, with a buttery crust that melted in your mouth. It was the ideal way to end such an amazing meal. The service was just as exceptional as the food. Our server, Quinn, went above and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic experience. They were attentive, friendly, and made excellent recommendations that enhanced our meal. DOUGH BIRD has set a new standard in dining, and I can’t wait to return. If you haven’t visited yet, do yourself a favor and go—you won’t be disappointed!

Google
Fox Restaurant Group's Doughbird is a great addition to Inwood village. The chicken tenders are incredible and the house made spicy buffalo sauce pair well. The tenders were well breaded and the fingers were juicy and light. Portion of chicken left me wanting much more though. That is the major detractor at Doughbird, portions are small especially at the price point charged. Plenty of slaw and fried offered but they were executed to the level of the chicken. More chicken or lower price would easily give this place 5 stars.

Yelp
Great discovery! food was awesome and staff super nice My son got a peanut butter brookie with ice cream and caramel that was out of this world Ambience was top notch, we definitely found a new favorite place

Yelp
Delightful. We had a problem with an order and the went above and beyond to fix it. The manager showed up immediately and overboard to fix it.

Yelp
Really a solid 4.5 rating but I'm feeling generous! This place is pretty pricey! Hands down the best lemon meringue pie I've ever had in my life!!! The blackberry compote wasn't too sweet- complimented the lemon nicely! Annnnndddd I don't even eat meringue! I'll be back for more! This place is pretty pricey! I think everyone else enjoys this spot as well. Expect about a 10 minute wait on a Friday afternoon. Our waitress was kind and made herself available for refills! This place is pretty pricey! $18 for 4 chicken strips, fries, and about 1/4 cup of coleslaw. Wow. No toast? Lol. The chicken was tasty but nothing overly special about it. The star of the show was the truffle mushroom Detroit style pizza! Omg my Lord! Just get this! You won't miss the meat....talking to my carnivores! It'll run you around $22. Super hungry? One could easily eat it all or you can be "cute" and share it. You bet your bottom dollar, I'll be back!

Yelp
This place was a good 4+ stars at first, but we found a hair in our food. The atmosphere is cheery and elegant. It felt very nice but not stuffy. The staff was wonderful and attentive, but not over bearing. We ordered the truffle cheese bread, chicken pot pie, and chicken sandwich. The pot pie is baked fresh to order so it took about 20 minutes to arrive. They came out with the app after about 10 minutes to space out the wait time a bit, pro move on the restaurant. The cheesy bread was OMG! So crispy and fragrant, we will be back for the Detroit pizza as it was a similar style to that preparation. The chicken sandwich was good overall, but didn't really have anything special going on. I wish I had a sauce or Nashville seasoning option. The copy cane sauce was good and is exactly what you think it is. Fries were perfect shoestring type. Then there was the pot pie. It came out golden and crispy. You crack the crust and steam is pouring out. Very hot so be careful. After a few bites, that's when we found the hair. I don't like gross pictures so we didn't capture it. As a chef, I know these things happen. We are human after all. I assured my wife that with the dish being so hot, there was no danger, just an ick factor. We didn't want to ruin a good lunch vibe and didn't want to get into it with the staff so we just asked for a Togo box. Our waitress was so nice we wanted to give her a full tip. We might be back after my wife gets over her feelings. I expect this was a one off and won't hold a grudge, that is if my wife agrees to go back.

Yelp
First time trying this place and i'll be back for sure!! Everything was great, the vibe, drinks, food and the service. Everything our server recommended was delicious. For apps we ordered the Lebanese Hummus with vegetables, Crispy Brussel Sprouts and Cast Iron Shishito Peppers and everything was just great. I personally liked Brussels sprouts and Hummus. For mains we ordered hand stretched Spicy Hawaiian, Detroit style Aviator, Crispy Chicken Parmesan and Chicken tenders with Copy Cone sauce. I liked the Detroit style aviator and chicken tenders. Chicken was really tender and juicy and paired well with the coleslaw and the copy cone sauce. For desserts we got the Brookie which was good too. Overall it will a great experience and I hight recommend this place.

Yelp
My girlfriend had a $10 off coupon so we went after church on a Sunday. She had been the week before and wanted to go back. We ordered the cauliflower steak, bbq chicken pizza (Detroit style) and chicken tenders. Our waitress, Victoria, was very nice and helpful and it was because of her recommendation that we ordered the chicken tenders. The food was all very good and tasty. The chicken tenders were amazing! However, I ordered Mac and cheese instead of coleslaw and ranch instead of cane's sauce but did not get either one of those changes when my meal came out. Our waitress fixed it so not a big deal and I would still recommend and come back!

Brandy P.

Yelp
I absolutely enjoyed my first visit at Doughbird the atmosphere was lovely. I ordered a pizza which was awesome. One of the best pieces I have ever tried , it was just a mouthwatering taste mmm!!! Servers were great. I remember Casia very well. She was so sweet. They got the order you down very well very professional young lady... I would recommend Doughbird. I will also be visiting them again soon.

Yelp
We ordered delivery and the driver got lost so we had low hopes for our meal, but let me tell you it was SO FREAKING GOOD. We ordered the hummus, margarita Detroit style pizza, and shishito peppers. Everything was incredibly flavorful, quality ingredients, and well cooked despite arriving well past prep time ha! The pizza was had crisp, buttery, salty edges and a chewy light center. The cheese was so tasty. The hummus was hands down our favorite hummus we've ever eaten and we eat a lot of hummus. We loved the sliced tomatoes in the dish and the consistency was just perfection, chef's kiss. We are so disheartened that we don't live here because this would be a regular go-to for us!

M D.

Yelp
Pricy for a small pizza, crust was not very crispy. Pass on this as it's not a great value for the pizza.

Alli L.

Yelp
Walked in with my fiancé around 5:45pm on a Saturday without a reservation. We were able to find bar seating. The restaurant is beautiful! I also like that you can see through the bar to the kitchen. Anyways, we ordered some cocktails: the local & von sizzle's Paloma. Both very good and refreshing, not overly sweet. We also ordered Classic chicken pot pie & prime rib dip to share. Both were delicious! Enough for us to want to come back, and try other menu items. Service was great as well.

DJ H.

Yelp
Listen to osamason and Nettspend and prettifun and rich amiri and capzlock and skater

Kristal W.

Yelp
I went the first week they opened. Everyone was very attentive. There was so much that I wanted to order but this time I settled for Chicken Parm with truffle orzo and mozzarella sticks. They mentioned everything was made in house, which I loved to hear. The chicken Parm was too salty to me as were the mozzarella sticks. Common denominator = marina sauce for both. The truffle orzo was really good. I would go back again because I see the potential.

Luke N.

Yelp
Food fun and wish they had a couple more locations. I would be a regular if a weeee bit closer.

Camellia M.

Yelp
New spot located on Lovers Lane. We were not able to get a reservation but were able to order online during the soft opening. We did curbside pickup, which took about 6 minutes once we said that we had arrived. The young man that brought the food out was so kind, and friendly. The food smelled just as good as it tasted. We opted for the Chicken Parmesan with black truffle orzo, kids chicken tenders with fries, aviator pizza and a side of Brussels sprouts. EVERYTHING was a 10/10. We will definitely be back when they open. If you're in the area I highly recommend this establishment.

Samantha C.

Yelp
This place is amazing! Definitely will be back. The espresso martinis were great. A good balance between sweet and coffee. The crispy Brussels and truffle cheese bread were delicious. The aviator pizza Detroit style was everything you could hope for in a doughy pizza and the salmon was delicious! Our server definitely recommended the best items. The interior is elegantly decorated and was buzzing with energy. Very happy with the chose this place for our girls HH/dinner

Dianne W.

Yelp
The pizza is very good. The pricing on the wine is way too expensive for this type of restaurant. This isn't Nick and Sam's but they are charging $25.50 & $18 for 9 oz of Sauvignon Blanc wine!!! I went with water rather than be charged such exorbitant prices. When I walked out I noticed only one other person had ordered wine. If they would lower the prices to be more reasonable, people would order more. The pizza was great but I'm not sure they will last if they don't come down on the wine prices.

Brianna H.

Yelp
This is was great dinner spot. Not too casual but not too fancy either. The food was good and the service was good as well, food came out quick.

Tamara C.

Yelp
Great food and service! It's my new neighborhood favorite. The pot pie is to die for and the cocktails are yummy.

John O.

Yelp
We were given a gift certificate to make good on my first negative experience. I took my wife this time and she ordered Crispy Chicken Parmesan. It was far more than crispy. It was completely burned on the bottom (see photos). We are NOT overly particular. However, we've never experience anything so blatantly burned and served. This place still has food and service kinks to work out. The ambiance is nice but that's not going to make up for service and food issues. I really want local restaurants to succeed (even chains). This one still needs quite a bit of work. (BTW...they did replace our meals and apologized)

Jayden N.

Yelp
Great spot for a work lunch. Ample seating and attentive servers/hosts. Detroit style pizza and the brownie/cookie were a hit. Mocktails were also decent! The regular pizza we had (aviator) had solid toppings but the bread was more akin to a flatbread (not my personal favorite but can still see why it's popular!). Plenty on the menu to come back and check out!

Valerie J.

Yelp
Great food and service. Very comfortable and the atmosphere is great. Music and everyone chatting in the background. Love it. Eat the chicken pot pie!!

Emily D.

Yelp
The truffle bread appetizer was amazing - definitely shareable with 3-4 people. Avocado chicken salad was delicious but a little overdressed (I like dressing lighter generally). Service was good too - will have to go back to try their pizzas!

Maddy W.

Yelp
Everything was delicious! The brussels sprouts r were sooo good and I don't even like vegetables fr! The pizza and chicken parm were also delicious! Would definitely come back again.

Jay F.

Yelp
Really wanted to like this place as their other concepts are great. The service is amazing but the food, on two visits, is totally underwhelming. We've tried hummus, pimento dip, pizzas, salmon and the veggie bowl. Nothing was good or bad, just bleh.

Sean J.

Yelp
Outstanding food and drinks with impeccable service. The pizza is the center piece of the restaurant and worth every bite. The cocktails are unique and well balanced with a bar area that you will enjoy sitting in. As for entrees I would recommend the salmon or the Crispy Chicken. And for something lighter, the tuna sashimi salad is the right balance between crispy and spicy.

barbara b.

Yelp
New neighborhood gem. Great place to meet friends after work. The name is deceiving. It's not just a pizza and chicken place. Nice variety of options to please most people. Grilled salmon, crispy chicken piccata, delicious chicken pot pie, tuna tostadas and unusually good Brussel sprouts. Save room for the warm butterscotch cake.

C C.

Yelp
Fun place. Design is upscale airport restaurant. Food is upscale airport restaurant. Pizza is dreadful. Staff is very friendly, accommodating, and moves with urgency.

Lizzie N.

Yelp
10/10. Great new neighborhood spot!! Food was next level and ambiance was perfect level of casual and upscale.

H D.

Yelp
Awesome experience food Detroit pizza atmosphere decor very classic all wonderful management servers hostess.,

Vinita H C.

Yelp
My hubs and I went for opening day, early happy hour time and sat at the bar - service was exceptional and food was fantastic - cannot wait to go again!! Cozy atmosphere and good vibes all around!

J T.

Yelp
We eat pizza quite a bit and this is not our favorite. Need to work on the dough, but the toppings are good. The chicken strips are some of the best. Friendly staff. We like it because it's casual for a Dallas restaurant, but it is loud.

Claire H.

Yelp
Amazing service! We walked in with a large group of 15 and they accommodated us on the patio. Server was super friendly and organized. Food came out quickly. Drinks were delicious. Definitely recommend to all.

Mrs. H.

Yelp
Nice, new addition to the Inwood Village area. The venue is perfect for a nice, casual atmosphere to take a date, grab a bite with friends, or stop in for a meal while in the area. No pretense, just chill vibes and they did a really lovely revamp and remodel to what was the old Breadwinner's Cafe. We weren't sure what to expect but we were willing to check it out as we live in the area. The service was super friendly and I really appreciated our server listening to our specific requests. We ordered a pizza to test the rest and honestly, we thought it was one of the best pizza doughs in Dallas. Especially for not being only a pizzeria, Doughbird can give any pizza place a run for their money. Seriously. We've tried so many and I can attest that this is one of the best we've had. Dave Portnoy would give it high marks for sure! We did the hand stretched and it was great. Perfectly crisp and chewy in all the right spots. The sauce and ingredients were fresh and tasted of true quality. The manager Glenda was also a sheer delight as she welcomed us as first time visitors and took excellent care of us. With all these positive stars aligned in the right direction, we will definitely be visiting Doughbird more often.

Davis W.

Yelp
Really great vibe at this place. Ahi tuna salad was incredible and their cocktail/wine list was expansive. This is a new staple!

Renee P.

Yelp
Placed to go order for two of the chicken tenders meals on their website. The description doesn't tell you how many strips are included but based on the posted picture it looked like 5-6 per thin tenders per order with crinkle cut fries. We got 4 thin tenders with thin cut fries (McDonald style). The breading lacks seasoning and reminds me of fish and chips coating. The fries were a bit well done and salty. The copy cane sauce is a close match but come on, can't you come up with an original rather than knocking off a large chain??? The coleslaw was the highlight, it's a light creamy dressing with the perfect amount so it wasn't a soggy soupy mess. For the money spent it would have been better going to the chain they are trying to copy, then we would have got Texas toast and tea for less money. Bumped up to three stars only because the curb side service, they were very friendly, prompt and informative. Maybe we will be back to try the pizza but we are already missing breadwinners.

Eric C.

Yelp
Excellent staff and great neighborhood spot! Food was excellent and the pricing is surprisingly not as bad as other restaurants at this caliber. About $10-$20 less than what we expected. We will be back!

Randall R.

Yelp
Our experience at Doughbird's was excellent, the pizza was very tasty, the brussel sprouts appetizer was really packed with flavor. Service was great noise level was very nice, you didn't have to yell to be heard, just normal conversation level. If you are in the area, I would highly recommend stopping here for a meal.

Marcy S.

Yelp
This is just what our neighborhood needed. In addition to excellent food the staff is top notch. We arrived without a reservation but were able to score a spot at the bar. The bar staff was over the top nice and uber professional. All of the food was so good. Started with the wings- yum! Streak and frites were delish and the pizza flavor 10/10. Highly recommend giving it a try and making it a new go to for our fam!

Annette H.

Yelp
Much like their sister restaurant Flower Child, the food is good, but portions are small and the menu is expensive for what you get. Service is subpar like Flower Child as well. Breadwinners was so much better. Losing them is a huge loss for the neighborhood in terms of restaurant choices and variety. Doughbird is a poor replacement for them.
