Coming to America: Chef Bun Cheam

"Cheam’s next venture is a restaurant of his own (along with partner Steven Wong), scheduled to open inside Market Line in the Lower East Side’s Essex Crossing development. “There are so many other amazing vendors joining,” he says, mentioning Wildair (“doing a wine bar”), Ample Hills Creamery, Doughnut Plant, Nom Wah and S.E.A. Market." - Marguerite Imbert

Amazing donuts, never heard of Doughnut Planet until we received a dozen at my job as a gift. They were delicious I absolutely loved the peanut butter and jelly doughnut. If your craving a real good doughnut don’t settle for plain old Dunkin’ Donuts! Yes it’ll be cheaper but it will definitely not crave your sweet tooth and hit the spot! The crunchy peanut’s and gooey jelly center that is oozing out is scrumptious and the jelly is made in house! Definitely will order from again! It’s worth $5!!!

Staff was excellent and the Brooklyn Blackout was amazing, literally melted in my mouth. Coming back here when I return to New York City. Also the environment is super chill and relaxing. Perfect place to sit back and relax.

Unreal. Best doughnuts I’ve had in my life. The carrot cake doughnut is genuinely to die for. So soft, so sweet and it melts in your mouth upon first bite. The Brooklyn blackout is great too...cocoa based and it melts just as softly in your mouth. Can’t wait to go back to New York and get these again. Love the place so much

I wanted something sweet and went over to check out the doughnuts on display. Steven greeted me and help me decide on which doughnut I should get. I wanted the frozen one to just try, but there were no samples. I didn’t want to purchase the doughnut and not like it only to be wasteful, so he suggested the black and white doughnut. I bought it, and that was the BEST damn doughnut I’ve ever had. Steven is such a sweetheart and made me glad to stumble upon this little shop. Great people and great doughnuts. highly recommend!

The coconut cream and carrot cake donuts will change your life! They were both incredible! Moist, flavorful, and the texture was on-point.
