Google
Absolutely love this farmers market, they had such good, diverse vendors. Purchased some of the best focaccia I’ve ever had. Got some beautiful flowers and delicious produce. Would recommend!!

Google
Always a great way to enjoy the weather and do some people-watching (and dog-watching; there are a lot of cute dogs at the market as well). There is a good variety of vendors for fruits and veggies, but also for local eggs, dairy, meats, flowers, and crafts. Every vendor accepts card or cash payment, and even though some stalls get busy with CSA pickups, most vendors move folks through pretty quickly. While the terrain is flat (making it wheelchair and stroller friendly,) there tends to be A LOT of foot traffic from either direction and it can get a bit congested and hard to navigate on wheels.

Google
The best Louisville Farmer's Market! It includes lots of vendors cooking fresh food, live music and a place to just people watch.

Google
A little spendy but worth it when you know you're supporting farmers and small businesses. Great variety of options and things to do. GORGEOUS neighborhood. Encourage going a bit early to find parking.

Google
Such a lovely farmers market with a wide variety of fresh produce, baked goods, and many other goodies you may need. Loved the live music and atmosphere of the market.

Google
Love coming here! This past Saturday I got 2 dozen eggs and last Saturday picked up a couple house plants from a vendor as well! Always a great atmosphere and very family (and pet) friendly!

Google
Wonderful outside market. Lots of private vendors. Fresh veggies. Fresh meats. Cool vibe, all are welcome!

Yelp
This was a sweet stop for meats, produce and snacks. We got some meat pies which were spicy and satisfying. It was so delicious, I ended up getting frozen ones for home. We also go some green curry and vegetable rice. I love the selection and the congregation of local farm markets here

Yelp
This is one of my favorite farmers markets in town. They have a variety of fruit, vegetables and baked goods. Let's not forget the other vendors they also. Parking can be a bit sticky as it's very popular with the residents and others who choose to visit the market. Today we purchased some homemade double chocolate cookies and some tasty focaccia bread. Mission accomplished.

Yelp
What a great farmer's market. They have live music, there are food vendors with produce, bread, cheeses, honey, a nice lady who has sprouts and green drinks, a lemonade truck, Samosas, Middle-Eastern food. Also, flower vendors, and rotating vendors that offer different trinkets, wood worked goods, etc. You will see some core vendors and others rotate (like the Lemonade truck), and can always find great produce. I have purchased everything from prepared food to a child sized Adirondak chair for my grandson. He loves it! Grab a coffee at Dad's and stroll over. It is worth it.

Yelp
So many options of vendors. Love Wiltshire pantry and the Italian loaf the best. People are nice. Not ridiculously crowded.

Yelp
Farmer's market with the typical fare, a bakery stand and a few others selling baked goods, a few fruit and vegetable stands-the buckets of strawberries stood out to me, flowers, a takeaway beer tent, beautiful flowers, and some Artisanal goods. Parking is on the nearby streets and that part was a little chaotic but the vibe of the market was nice. There was even a spot where it looked like a band would play, we were there on the earlier side, so nothing seen! Would definitely recommend if you're in the area on Saturdays between 10 and 2!

Yelp
This was our favorite farmers market of the four we visited in Louisville. They have a good mix of vendors and the produce vendors were not repeating, they each offered their own specialties. The different vendors with baked goods was another draw for us. Breads, cookies, focaccia, pastries, what could be better? There weren't a ton of vendors, but they were all quality. Parking options include a parking lot or street parking.
google avatar

Yelp
This farmers market may not be the largest in Louisville, but I contend it is one of the best. Here's why: * Great selection. There are produce stands as well as meat vendors, desserts, drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), cheese, ice cream, flowers and ready-to-eat providers. One stand had pimento cheese sliders, but had sold out before I got there. I must go back and buy these! * It goes later in the afternoon, to 2pm, than other markets. * It takes place on a beautiful shaded lawn in front of a historic estate house. * It's dog friendly, unlike other markets. * Live music on the steps of the historic home. * Want to keep the good vibes going? Walk across the street to Great Flood Brewing or La Suerte. It's hard to come away from this market without at least some goodies to eat.

Yelp
This is definitely my favorite farmers market in Louisville. There are plenty of different vendors that have everything I need: fresh produce, meat, and flowers. Also I appreciate the live entertainment. The only negative comment I have is the parking. My goodness, what a nightmare. Luckily one of my friends lives nearby so I park at her complex and we go to the farmers market together. I suggest getting there early to snag nearby street parking and to get what you want. Some vendors have run out of their products that I wanted by noon.
google avatar

Sharon M.

Yelp
Wide variety of vendors. Music, playground, and bathrooms available. Fresh produce and local goods. Hours are 10 to 2, for those who just can't get up early on Saturday!

Yelp
Lately, I've been trying to be more aware of where my food is coming from (thank you Zac Efron and the Down To Earth series). So I've been wanting to venture out to the local Farmers Markets. This market had a little bit of everything and more. I was able to pick up some sausage links and blackberries as well as bread from Wiltshire Pantry and cheese. I also got some amazing romaine lettuce as well as a 4 pack from Mile Wide. And I spent about the same as what I would have at the store. With Covid and everything else, I'm definitely looking into being able to place meat orders directly with the source instead of relying on grocery stores. And being able to pick up my order at the market? Sold! I will definitely be returning.
google avatar

Jim K.

Yelp
Great market. Always leave with some great produce and meats. Only other market we go to is the New Albany Farmers Market in SOIN. Both are awesome.
google avatar

Yelp
Is a good farmer's market. I could be wrong about this, but I think the Douglass Loop Farmer's Market and the St Matthew's Farmer's Market are generally considered to be the two best in the city. Having been to several, I feel like that's true. And I am not sure which I prefer. But it is definitely between DL and SM. They have everything you could want. Produce. Meat. Beer. Coffee. Live music. The big difference between the two - DL let's you bring doggos. SM does not. Now, I love doggos. Big fan of the doggo. But I'm not sure that it's a good thing bringing them to the farmer's market. It gets a big crowded and space gets confined. So you see and here dogs getting aggressive with one another. I just don't think it's a great place for dogs to hang. Anyhow. It's a good farmer's market. Hit it up if you like these things.

Yelp
You cannot go wrong in this loop of local heaven!! I scoop my weekly vegetables, yearly herbs that I plant, hydrangea bushes, weekly hummus from Naked Hummus, and more. You cannot beat the prices, kind business owners, or experience!!

Yelp
Parking is limited The looo is short Good variety of meat, produce, and homemade products I would recommend a visit

Yelp
There's nothing better than getting your fruit and veg straight from the farmer. And I love a good Farmers' Market, which this one is indeed. The thing that makes this one my go-to market is the time it's open, 10 - 2. It's still the Highlands, so expect on-street, parallel parking and please be aware of folks' driveways and the narrowness of Woodford. The Bardstown Rd (Deer Park) market was once my stop, but it got to the point where you had to wake at zero dark thirty to get good stuff. When Douglass Loop opened, we jokingly called it the "Hipster Farmers Market" since you can take your time, ease into your weekend and will still find amazing produce. After getting an early start this a.m., we made our way over to pick up some berries, corn, and tomatoes. You can't find anything at your local grocery that comes even close to what I bought today. I got a little peckish while shopping so I bought a delicious biscuit sandwich from my friend Sherry at Farm to Fork Catering. Stop by and wander around Douglass Loop Farmers Market if you're interested in eating the best produce from around our region, supporting farmers and having a fun morning.

Yelp
Kroger who? This place is a one stop shop ( fresh eggs, meat, kombucha, seasonal fruit and veggies, bakery items, and honey)
google avatar

Matt R.

Yelp
As far as I know, the Douglass Loop market and the Bardstown Road market are the only year-round farmers markets in the area. It's a little odd that the two are within a half mile of one another, and both only open on Saturdays, but that speaks to the strength and importance of this corridor. The Douglass Loop market is the new kid on the block - it hasn't been open a year yet - but it already draws a lot of good vendors. One distinct advantage it has over the Bardstown Rd market is space. There is more room for vendors and even room for customer parking. I've been impressed that the Douglass Loop market has had a lot of good vendors all winter as well. The summertime is certainly the preferred time to go, but in the cold months you can get plenty of good meats, breads, jellies, cheeses, eggs. Open 10-2 during the summer (Saturdays), 10-1 in the winter.

Yelp
Of all the farmers markets I've visited in town, this one is definitely my favorite. It's set in a nice fenced-in green space, so it's easier to roam from one vendor to the next and still feel like you're in a park while you're browsing. Music, homemade lemonade, and kettle corn complement the festive atmosphere and free samples of different foods that are offered by vendors. Dogs are allowed (unlike some other farmers markets), and I've never seen one misbehave while at the farmer's market. I could rave on, or I could let you go see for yourself, why this is one place you will always find me when I'm starting off my weekend right!
google avatar

Laura F.

Yelp
My favorite farmers market! A great way to spend a leisurely Saturday morning in the Highlands. I'm looking forward to it starting back up for the season in a couple of weeks! My husband and I love coming here to get fresh, local to KY produce, Mr. G's kettle corn, seasonal flowers, and more! There is also live music and a playground area if you have kids. It also seems to be a pet-friendly space for the most part. The one partially negative thing I could say about this farmers market is that there is very limited seating if you need to sit down with your kids for a bit or want a table to eat food purchased from any of the vendors. The few benches and picnic tables there are almost always taken by people no matter what time of the morning or afternoon we go. Overall, great farmers market! A fun place for a casual day date or family outing!
google avatar

Kelly J.

Yelp
I love the Douglass Loop Farmers Market! It's definitely large and in charge of the Highlands on Saturday mornings. This farmer's market boasts your typical farmer's market fair - produce, meat, cheese, eggs, breads, flowers, etc. But, they also offer beer, kombucha, wine, food trucks, live entertainment, and more. So, it's basically awesome! And you definitely need to check it out! I see that some other people have touched on parking in their reviews, and I'll mention that as well. It's the only downfall of this market. But, don't let it deter you. It's just that it's the Highlands, so parking is limited anyway, and this market is very popular (for good reason!). I've had occasions where I've had to drive around a bit to find a spot, but never a case where I absolutely couldn't find a spot to park. My suggestion is to check the nearby side streets, but sometimes you luck out and find a spot right out front, it just depends on the day.

Yelp
I have to say that after having been to this farmer's market and the Bardstown Road Farmers market that I enjoy the latter more. There is more space at the Douglas Loop Farmer's market, both for vendors and for patrons to walk and sit. They also have live music. There is a lot to look at and buy, but they fell short in the area that I feel is the most important: breakfast. I just wasn't impressed by the food they were selling. It was overpriced and lackluster. The pulled pork sandwich I had was okay. I also had a bowl of rice noodles with my choice of two vegetables. I got yellow bell peppers and spinach. The noodles were almost void of flavor even though they had ginger and garlic. I had to add sweet chili sauce to them. Each of those thins were $7 a piece. I just didn't feel that it was worth it. But as I said, I did still enjoy this farmer's market. There is a ton of produce, jams and jellies, meats, handmade soaps, dog treats, plants, and pastries. My family and I picked up a pumpkin chocolate chip bread that was awesome. I would recommend that you give it a try if you are wanting to try a new farmer's market- but don't expect too much if you are mainly going there to eat.

Yelp
Fresh, local food...a great choice! I've recently started checking out more farmers markets. They're a great way to find healthier, locally-grown/raised food and support cruelty-free farmers. The Douglass Loop Farmers Market is a great choice, if you're in the same mindset. There is a plethora to choose from him. From eggs to produce to meats to flowers and everything in between. You can snag a snack, coffee or popsicle from some of the other vendors while you shop. Parking can be a little tricky if you aren't familiar with the area. You may need to park on a street nearby. Other than that small detail, I definitely enjoy coming here!
google avatar

Jess A.

Yelp
I am a sucker for a good farmer's market and Douglass Loop exceeded my expectations. Even early fall when a lot of the early summer fruits and veggies are on their way out there were still plenty of colorful, bright produce options to choose from. My friend / DLFM tour guide quickly honed in on the pretzel croissants (apparently we were lucky there were even some left by 10am when we got there) and they were indeed worth their amazing buttery salty goodness reputation. That paired with a coffee from the local roasters and a playground to distract the kiddos and it made for a nice morning. The actual Farmers Market loop is set on a wide drive of sorts with vendors set up on both sides. I walked away with homemade rosemary pasta and marinara sauce from one vendor and he found homemade organic dog biscuits from another - so expect variety. Family friendly, dog friendly, I will definitely be making a return visit. I'm just sad I found this so late in the farmer's market season - it will be a long wait until spring to do this again!
google avatar

Megan F.

Yelp
If you didn't know, they're still around for a little bit longer! I guess most vendors will be moving inside soon and less of them will sign up to be there as it gets colder, but it's great that the market must go on. You could probably end up buying all of your weekly groceries here, but I know I don't have the self-control to not walk away with everything I lay my eyes on if I set out with such a grand mission. For the sake of not having a riduculous amount of food I could never eat on my own, I see the farmers market as a chance to buy a few staples to supplement my CSA. I always make a stop at Barr Farms for their chicken, beef and eggs. Can't go wrong with a .50 cent sample of Louisville Mead either. But its the Earthy Brown lotion stick that is becoming my BFF this winter. I'm weird and really hate the feeling of lotion all over my hands, so their stick o' lotion is a lifesaver. And when this tube of Yelpstick runs out I'll be in line for their chapstick. No cash? You could totally get away with getting a few things on card alone as many of the vendors have those handy dandy iPhone card swipers. Plus, there's a PNC right there with an ATM. Whatever you do, don't leave without an Asiatique omelette. It's $6. Just make sure you get the salsa on it. Really, their salsa is just magical.
google avatar

Hope R.

Yelp
This is my second favorite farmers market in Louisville. The selection is not as great as my favorite. However, I do enjoy that you can go later in the day and there is still an amazing selection of product. Sometimes I need to sleep a little later on my day off! Overall, I would recommend this farmers market, maybe eat before you get there. A burger is like nine dollars and it's not even as big as the bun.
google avatar

Kathy V.

Yelp
Great location. Varied vendors with great products and tasty samples. Fun live music. Asiatique had a food booth this weekend. Thumbs up!
google avatar

Rebecca M.

Yelp
Open from 10-2 on Saturdays. Dog and child friendly. A nice place for an early date or a quick trip with the fam! This market stays open later in the year than any other that I know of and is the only one that allows dogs. They also have a large grassy area so you can relax, listen to live music, or have lunch from one of the food trucks. Instead of JUST being a place to buy, its a place to hang out as well. They have the usuals--cheese, fruit (the peaches are amazing!), veggies, lemonade, flowers, homemade soaps, meat, ice cream and homemade baked goods. They also have dog treats and food, crafts, hummus, and some booths that change throughout the year. On one trip, there were two wineries with samples who were selling great wine around 10 bucks a bottle. Bring some cash and a blanket to sit on in case you decide to stay a while.
google avatar

Al A.

Yelp
This is a wonderful local farmers market with plenty of variety of fruits, vegetables, local meats, desserts, plants, food to eat for lunch while you're there, live music, etc. Only drawback in my opinion is it doesn't open until 10 AM which Is late for a farmers market.
google avatar

Marcia V.

Yelp
I stopped here for their first market of the season this year, as it was just starting to warm up (but then of course got really cold again). It's a good location with plenty of parking around. I am assuming once it gets warmer, there is a larger selection of farmers market fare, like produce. But on this day, SnoWhat was there serving Snoballs and hot chocolate, and there were alpacas. So all around a good market.
google avatar

Emily W.

Yelp
This is my favorite farmers market in Louisville for two reasons: 1. The location (just 2 blocks from my house) 2. You're allowed to bring dogs I love strolling over here on Saturday mornings and browsing the selection of fruits, veggies, breads, flowers, furniture, honey, etc. They usually have a live band performing and a few different food trucks on sight. It's bigger than the other farmer's market on Bardstown Road, so that's a plus as well.
google avatar

Mary M.

Yelp
I just discovered this place last weekend and I believe it will become my new weekend ritual. It has a good variety of vendors and the people are always nice. It's right down the road from Bardstown Road FM so you can hit both since this one closes later at 2 pm. The best part is they are dog friendly so mine loves getting to take a field trip every weekend. If you do go hit up the stall that sells hydroponic lettuce. It is so good and lasts so much longer than store bought.
google avatar

Lindsay M.

Yelp
I love that I can walk here and enjoy the music and sweet atmosphere. Keep in mind this is a small market, not many fruit vendors, mainly greens and some home made soaps/ candles/ crafts. Sometimes Blue Dog bakery has a booth here, but not many bakery vendors. Tip: I find new ways to prepare meals by asking the vendors about the odd produce items I've never seen. They are really helpful and share their recipes, which makes it fun to come up with new meals I never would have tried before!
google avatar

Parker W.

Yelp
Spent the morning touring Farmers Markets in the Highlands area today. After 3 stops I must say - this is by far my favorite. Friendly people, phenomenal selection, and very dog-friendly. If the Ky Kombucha people are there you HAVE to give their lemongrass Kombucha a fry. The few weeks I've been there produce has been rotating, which is refreshing. They also have some more staple booths that you can count on being there. Always live music, plenty of food-truck options, and a playground for the kiddos if they want a spot to play while you shop. This is a winner and an awesome use of your Saturday morning/afternoon.
google avatar

Amy B.

Yelp
This Farmers Market is one of the best locations and has a wide variety of fresh local breads, produce, honey, cheese, olive oils, flowers, plants, food trucks and live music. Old 502 Winery had a tasting table set up which was very nice. I tasted 3 wines for $2. Derby City Dog Rescue was there doing a fundraiser with adoptable dogs on site. The fresh, local produce is relatively inexpensive- I would say better prices than going to Kroger and it supports the local farmers. The best part is that it keeps going past Spring and Summer. So, as the crisp fall weather approaches- go and grab some local coffee or hot apple cider. Spiced wine maybe? :)
google avatar

Jason A.

Yelp
I'm pretty sure that this is the largest farmers market in town. This is wonderful because it has the most variety and selection -- most importantly, there is plenty of different fruit for me to chose from. I can't get enough of the farmers market this time of year. Plus, they're open until two, which I find to be especially convenient. And, to add to this convenience there are typically some food trucks (grind and holymole) lurking about.

Sofia S.

Yelp
Best farmers market in the ville. Comparable in size to St. Matthews BUT much friendlier, better variety of fresh fruits/veggies, allows dogs, and better pricing. A more laid back atmosphere with some room to sit down and picnic/munch on your goodies. Currently has sno-cones, baked goods, fresh peaches, veggies, dog treats and food, and more. One food truck available.
google avatar

Jim S.

Yelp
I appreciate the vast selection of Heirloom tomatoes and organic greens here. The food trucks are a nice touch with a backdrop of live music, kids playing on the playground, and a friendly neighborhood feel. I only wish there was more seating and better prices, hence the four not five star rating.
google avatar

Rakesh G.

Yelp
This is by far my favorite farmers market. It's great for grabbing anything you could want in terms of groceries with the pretty vast number of stands. There's great music as well. Plus there's dogs to watch! If you have children, there's a swing set right next to some of the stands as well. On August 3rd, there was a breast feeding promotion going on and lots of funny cookies, cupcakes and hats to be sold, plus Whole Foods was giving out free water, apples, and snacks. My cousin's kids had their faces painted too. The street parking is pretty plentiful in all directions too.
google avatar

Tara T.

Yelp
This is my favorite farmers market, because it's so fun and chill. You can really take your time and enjoy your morning here. There's live music, lots of samples, a wide variety of vendors (from indigenous plants to artisinal horseradish) and plenty of food trucks. There's no pressure to buy anything, and everyone just seems so relaxed and happy. It's definitely one of the best ways to spend an early Saturday morning, in my opinion.
google avatar

Thomas C.

Yelp
For our family, going to the farmer's market is more than buying fresh and local food for the week. We look forward to visiting most Saturdays and recommend even if you are not looking for fresh fruits or vegetables. The market is just off Bardstown Rd and Douglass Blvd where local business are clustered together and gives a nice community vibe. The merchants are placed around an open grassy area used to sit and play. There are tall trees that provides shade and character. A band is usually playing on the stairs of a large, beautiful old mansion.

Robert A.

Yelp
The location is very convenient and the vendors are all very small local businesses. As per the standard, pricing is high but everything is unique. You'd be hard-pressed to find a homemade lemon blueberry pound cake as delicious as is available at the cake / muffin vendor. They allow dogs (dog treat vendors always in attendance) and they typically have some music playing from a live acoustic guitar player. The people are always very nice and the selection is great.
google avatar

Glenn W.

Yelp
Missed my check in yesterday. I have been waiting all winter for this to open again. I love walking up here and buying fresh veggies, breakfast sandwiches and even some olive oil soap. Which is the best BTW. Everyone is friendly. You should make a point to stop by this farmers market and take advantage of the items for sale.
google avatar

Jason M.

Yelp
It's not just that this one is bigger than the one just down the road. It's that it has a completely different selection. Sure, there's produce a plenty in every shape, color, variety and flavor, but there's more variety of everything else. Honeys, meats, breads, plants, soaps, herbs, flowers, microgreens. That is why I recommend this be visited in conjunction with the Bardstown Road Farmers' Market. Because there is always something at one that is not at the other, and if you do not hit both of them, you will miss out.
google avatar

Joe D.

Yelp
I know it is cold outside and memories of wine tasting, coffee and breakfast burritos have faded in your head but guess what...the Douglass Loop Farmers Market is alive and well and located at the Wallistch's Nursery on Hikes Lane. The old regulars were there today although the crows were not. You can do it Highlanders...leave Bardstown Road and experience a great location for a winter farmer's market and support our farmers!! It opens at 10am.
google avatar

Elizabeth R.

Yelp
The reason I love this farmer's market so much is for the setting. The circular path where the vendors set up is shaded by trees and great for strolling. In the center is a grassy area with a few picnic tables and benches, and is perfect for bringing a blanket and relaxing and enjoying treats from the market. Parking is ample, dogs are welcome, and there's even a playground for the kids. The quality vendors are varied and range from plants & flowers, local produce & meats, baked goods, coffee, cheeses, crafts, and gifts and more. I also like that it doesn't start until 10:00 am, which means that I don't have to get up at the crack of dawn to get there while there's still good stuff to enjoy.
google avatar

Kaitlyn O.

Yelp
My favorite farmers market in Louisville! I try and go every Saturday. Great produce, wonderful flowers by Hazlefield Farms, dog treats by Rockos Rewards, food by various other vendors, live music, sometimes they have featured guests/events. All in all you have to check it out if you are a farmers market fan!

Sook C.

Yelp
This is just the greatest Farmers Market, prices are reasonable and the quality is better than Kroger's. Just wish they had more selection.

Kimberly S.

Yelp
Scored kamboucha, local honey, and Bibb lettuce today!!! This was my first trip and I will be back!!!
