"Come for the location: Downeast Cider House’s indoor taproom and seasonal outdoor bar perch on an East Boston marina packed with art and incredible views of Boston, not to mention a delicious neighbor in Australian pie shop Seabiscuit (formerly KO Pies). Stay for the selection: Downeast augments its core lineup of canned cider, including the easy-drinking Original Blend, with a dizzying array of limited options, from Orange Creamsicle to taproom-only flavors like Margarita, as well as non-cider products like hard lemonade." - Stasia Brewczynski

First, I'm surprised an operation as widely known as Downeast is running out of a place as small as this but, what an operation it is! The tasting room is set up in their production warehouse (where every can of their cider comes from) and seats ~40 people or so. It's definitely an industrial feel and due to the space only 1 tasting flight is allowed per person (with 4 samples per flight). The coolest part to me was the opportunity to try experimental flavors and provide feedback about them as well as flavors exclusive to the taproom. While I'm not normally a cider person they had non-cider "cider" options that were really delicious, especially the bomb pop and orange creamsicle flavors. And if you want more than just a flight there is a place across the street that has their beverages available in larger quantities/sizes. Definitely worth a stop in!

As a longtime fan of Downeast Cider, visiting their cidery was a dream come true! Although the indoor section only offered one flight, it turned out to be a delightful experience. Sampling their diverse flavors while sitting by stacks of cans created an incredible atmosphere. The real highlight was their outdoor tasting area by the water. Watching the sunset while sipping cider in comfy chairs was simply magical. Don't miss out on the overboard option—it's now my favorite! Crossing the river for this experience was definitely worth it!!!

Been a fan of Downeast for a long time and finally got to visit. Great experience! Staff was super nice, the vibe is cool, and the cider flight was excellent! First time in East Boston too, and really liked the neighborhood. Check out their website before you go - it’s not like some tap room experiences, but very cool if you know what you’re going for.

Went to the Big E with someone who can only drink cider and was really looking forward to the caramel apple special advertised on the Big E website and across social media platforms. Got there not too far into the afternoon and found that all the Downeast cider booths were out of the special. This is the special that's been advertised across multiple websites over the past several weeks. When speaking with the attendees they informed us that they have one keg to tap per day and that keg had run out. They refused to tap a new keg despite I would say about a third of the people in line asking for the special. When pressed, the bartender's reaction was to inform us that they did not work for Downeast, which made us feel like they frankly could not care less. Honestly I am incredibly disappointed in Downeast. I expected better customer service and more care to the people that follow them. I am shocked that they would trust their image to a third party, especially one that frankly could not give a damn. Part of the draw of a craft cidery is a small town feel, and this could not be any further from that. We left without getting anything, as did about a third of the folks in line. I can understand not being able to accurately anticipate demand, but surely they could've done better than this. Plus the attitude of the bartenders that were so quick to say they didn't work for Downeast... Poor image all around.

Google
this is strictly about the cider house, not the pop-up location. they only do flights! they have taproom exclusives, which is always fun. summery choices like root beer which i liked a lot. not a place to really hang out at, tbh. very uncozy, as one might say, but that’s not to say it’s not worth visiting! if you expect to find a place to spend extended time with your friends try the pop-up across the wharf. staff is friendly enough, but there very much is a vibe of get in get out, which is fine if you’re here to try exclusive ciders. not bashing them at all, but that’s just how it is, and that’s okay. the cider is worth it.

I just wanted to leave you with a *chefs kiss* review of your Guava Passion Fruit cider. Who ever created this, needs to be the president of your company since they are just mining GOLD for you. All your flavors are fantastic but THIS FLAVOR, unbelievable. Keep up the brewing and please return this flavor for next year's summer collection. Thank you

Google
A hidden gem. Little tough to drive down the streets. But worth the drive. Looking into taking the water taxi boat there next time. Really be nice if they had a slushy machine to put the drinks in to be frozen.

Google
My husband and I went for a tour, and had a great time! Downeast is our favorite hard cider, and being able to sample all the new flavors - including testers - was very tasty! The tour guide was patient, answering any and all questions along the way, and offered insight to his favorite crock pot method for warming the cider~ The brewery itself has a fun, cozy atmosphere, and is easy to get to from Maverick station: just a 10-minute walk away. Highly recommend for anyone into craft breweries!

Yelp
Overall: short review for a short experience but if you love Downeast then pop on over! The flights are reasonably priced at $14 and they even let you sample them. The "bartender" if you can even call them that helps recommend different mixes that would be good! They offer different things based on the season but being able to trial some of the cider house exclusives (fruit punch) was really unique! You can also get merchandise and different downeast flavors without worrying about the markup that might happen at liquor stores!

Rebecca C.

Yelp
Extremely reasonably priced flights and a good way to try out some of the flavors that aren't in the market yet. They rotate what is on tap. Great growlers that come in 32 or 64 ounces. Our favorites were the peach mango, guava passionfruit, and the lemon! You can bring your own food. They don't sell any food. Across the way is a spot that sells full glasses. The taproom has specific hours and is in the warehouse. Make sure you check the hours before going! Parking is free outside the tap house.

Melanie H.

Yelp
If you love all things downeast, this is the place to go, especially during the summer time because they have an outdoor pop up area where you can buy more drinks and take in sights of the Boston skyline! In the actual cider house, you can only get one flight of drinks but still super cool to hang out in their cool warehouse interior with rows and rows of cans, and taste test and sample different flavors they have seasonally and year round! I ended up getting the guava passion fruit mixed with the tropical (yes you can mix flavors!), the fruit punch, blueberry, and seasonal cider donut! They were all delicious with fruit punch taking the cake for me! A great place to have fun with friends and try this Boston exclusive cider!

Christina C.

Yelp
It is my mission whenever I am traveling somewhere to go to a local brewery/cidery/winery. As a lover of ciders I was excited to try out Downeast! Here they offer flights that you can turn tickets in for, or you can sip on your favorite hard cider of choice. The staff did a great job of explaining the process and filling us in on their history, which is always cool to hear. For my cider flight I went with the Sour Green Apple, Aloha Friday, Extra Hard Lemon Italian Ice, and the Maple Waffle. My favorites were the sour green apple which tasted like hard candy, and the deliciously scented maple waffle! I love that this cidery hosts people inside of their warehouse! Next time I'd love to do a tour if possible to learn more about the production.

Yelp
What a cool way to spend an afternoon. Came here with some friends to try their ciders and pleasantly surprised. Not a huge cider fan here (outside of Renaissance Fairs because of the atmosphere) but have become a fan of Downeast. Traveling here is no fun because there are roads that are blocked off that GPS doesn't know about but once there, there is parking by the Wearhouse. You walk into what seems like the back door but is really the front to large stills of cider (very cool to be right in the middle of it). There is someone to greet you (all employees were cool and let you try the different flavors) once you round the corner but there may be a line due to limited seating. Once you get your seat you can go up and order a flight of four to try. Great experience and good cider. Things to note: 1. In the summer they have a tent out front that has a license to sell more than flights. 2. You can bring food in to the distillery to have with your flight or if you go to the tent you can also bring food. 3. They have merch if you need a new hoody.

Yelp
Visited Downeast Cider House in East Boston with friends in October. The warehouse ambiance, adorned with beer cans like a metallic tapestry, caught my eye right away. Despite the limited tables, we snagged one within minutes. The ciders on tap offered a mix of Downeast's classics and seasonal delights, providing a journey through their apple-infused creations. Pro tip: You're limited to one flight per person, but fear not. We migrated to the beer garden, sipped on cider by the water, and engaged in a heated Jenga battle. The view of the Boston skyline was the perfect backdrop, especially with the weather playing nice on the day we visited. So, if you're up for a scenic cider-sipping session with friends, this East Boston gem is the place to be. Cheers to Downeast!

Yelp
Love that this is dog friendly, but sad they got rid of free samples. Everyone that works here is awesome and I love this brand. They are very involved in the community and I was even a blind taste tester during covid! The cider market is very few and far between in MA and I love seeing a very successful Boston based cider make wonderful products. Will always buy and go back!!!

Katie H.

Yelp
This is a review for the outdoor pop up in east Boston located across from the cider house itself--super fun, great vibes/music, incredible views of the Boston skyline and tasty cider! Bring an extra layer in the fall/spring as it can get a little windy. Restrooms are outhouses. No food available for purchase. Love downeast and their ciders and will be back many many times!

Nicole P.

Yelp
I'm a fan of Downeast ciders, it's my go to when I'm looking for a cider at my local liquor store so I was excited to stop by their cider house. It is part of their factory so it's a bit small and rustic with all their equipment in the background. They only allow one flight of cider per person, which was a bit pricey at about $15 each. They had a bunch of fun flavors to try that you could take home in growlers or canned 4 packs. On a Saturday afternoon it surprisingly wasn't busy and we were seated right away. I'd go back because I love their ciders but I do wish the cider house had a better ambiance

Brooke C.

Yelp
I started my afternoon in the taproom to get a hard cider flight. I had to wait outside for about 10 minutes for a table to open up in the taproom. Once inside I ordered my hard cider flight at the counter where it was poured and served right away. My flight was blueberry, blackberry, pumpkin, and cider donut flavors. All were delicious. It was a very cool experience inside. Afterward, we walked across the parking lot to the pop-up garden. There I got a full pour of the strawberry hard cider and I got to stand outside overlooking the water. The two destinations together made for a great fall afternoon!

Abbey K.

Yelp
Dog friendly inside area! Loved trying the ciders they had on rotation. It was a bit hard to find but was in a warehouse! It was a bit chilly but we enjoyed it! My favorite was the cider donut! They have flavors for everyone! My boyfriend who doesn't like ciders even enjoyed all the flavors! Fun date idea to go and try! Definitely will be back!

Haley S.

Yelp
I've loved Downeast Cider for a long time, so I was overjoyed to get a chance to visit their cidery! The inside part only serves one flight which was unexpected BUT such a fun thing to do. I enjoyed trying their different flavors surrounded by all the cans, incredible atmosphere! Their outdoor tasting area on the water was the star of the show! Loved sitting in the chairs while watching the sunset on the water. Definitely try the overboard option, my new favorite! So happy I made the trip to cross the river, such a sweet evening!!

Susannah C.

Yelp
Super interesting space - their tasting/distillery is inside their production warehouse. They only offer flights or growlers to go - no full pours of any drinks and only one flight per customer. Every cider we tried was amazing, but I wish you could get full pours of at least one. Be prepared if you go in the winter, it will be freezing inside! Highly recommend the deep fall, cider donut, tropical smoothie, and pear. All were delicious though!

Adam C.

Yelp
Super fun vibe. Easy service. Personable staff. The drinks are tasty and fun to talk about.

Olivia W.

Yelp
I don't think I can recommend a visit to the cider house itself - the cider is great, but served at a lot of Boston businesses and easy to get a hold of in liquor stores (at least locally). The tasting room itself was small and only held about 10 tables of 4. They don't have a full liquor license so you can only get one flight per adult then you have to leave...not like any other tasting room I've been to. Staff was friendly and made some good recommendations but this wasn't a fun elongated experience...we were in and out in an hour. Since it took us 45 minutes to get there I can't say it was worth it for us. Love the cider but I'm gonna skip the tasting room in the future.

Lisa F.

Yelp
When you tell friends you're headed here, plan to get orders! That's what happened to me! Girl's trip to Downeast was so much fun. We got there right at noon when they opened, which was smart since they only have approx 15 tables. We all got flights (4 pours) and we brought our own snack spread. Favorites include double blend, winter blend, cider donut and pumpkin! Had a great time! They really could benefit from an expansion (or another location, CT perhaps?). Steady stream of people coming in for growler fills and can pickups. Will def return!

Corina W.

Yelp
This company makes amazing beverages but the customer service is horrible. I placed an order for my brother-in-law for his birthday. The day it should have been delivered, I inquired as to the delivery and they just canceled my order instead of replying. I emailed three different times requesting somebody reach out to me and let me know what the issue is with no response. There's no phone number to call and they choose to reply only when it's convenient for them and not when you have an actual need, so disappointed.

Cassedy C.

Yelp
We had the best time touring Downeast Cider House. The tour guide was knowledgeable and kept things exciting as she walked through the process of making cider. We even got to taste experimental flavors and vote on which would be great additions to their product line. They have a lot of indoor seating amongst a surplus of kegs and the space seemed to be dog friendly! Can't wait to visit again and forever hoping they begin offering Downeast in Texas.

Ben S.

Yelp
During the pandemic I randomly picked up a pack of Downeast at a liquor store while waiting for my Chinese food order was cooking next door. We loved it and the taproom has been on our list of things to do since. I'm sure every other review mentions most of my same points. Strange location with no outside signage and difficult to find. Taproom is in the middle of the warehouse/brewing floor. Because of this your given a single wooden nickel on entry which you hand in when you buy your one flight. Strange but kudos to them for making it work on a warehouse floor. My wife definitely picked the better flavors for her flight than I did. Unfortunately it's summer time and cider donut wasn't available which is far and away better than anything they had available. Guess we'll have to come back in the fall.

Marni M.

Yelp
Came here when checking out a few other bars. We were able to get seated right away on a Saturday around noon. There were a variety of flavors to try. We ordered a flight so that we could at least 4. Out of the blueberry, mimosa, strawberry and the other name escapes me, I liked the blueberry the most. Workers were nice and it was a comfortable lounging environment. Would like to come again.

Kate F.

Yelp
I love Downeast Cider, so the cidery is always high on our priority list when we have the chance to visit Boston. We stopped by on a recent chilly Sunday and had just a brief wait for a table. They're currently only serving flights and limit these to one per customer, presumably to keep guests flowing well. We opted for some taphouse-only ciders as we're lucky enough to be able to purchase cans locally at home, so between our two flights, we tried the Watermelon, Cherry-Peach, Raspberry Iced Tea, Deep Winter, Mulled Cider, Strawberry Lemonade, and Pomegranate. They were nice enough to provide a sample of the mimosa for us when asked as well. Our favorites were the watermelon (delightfully refreshing and fruity) and the Deep Winter (incredible maple apple pie flavors with a cozy vibe), but all of these ciders were excellent and made us sad we didn't have a way to take growlers on our flight. As we wrapped up our flight, we were approached by a Downeast employee and offered the chance to participate in their R&D process. We got to stop by a separate room where we were given samples of their margarita cider and asked to participate in a survey to give our feedback. This is really a brilliant play on their part --- they get feedback from customers who are likely to purchase Downeast, and we got to feel valued and honored to be selected. To get to Downeast via public transit, we took the Blue Line to Maverick and enjoyed the lovely 10-15 min walk along the waterfront parks and neighborhoods. It's an easy stop if you're going to/from the airport as many visitors may not otherwise be in this area.

Yelp
Where to begin.... I seriously have PTSD from this experience and only wish it on my worst enemies. After hitching the soaking wet blue line there, we arrived on a Saturday around 2pm to find a line we have to wait in. A line is fine but not when it's pouring rain outside and there was no overhead cover for guests (there was at least 15 ppl in line) and we were soaking wet. We asked if we could wait inside and they said no (although they had plently of room inside to wait). Also note that there is nowhere nearby to head for cover. So you're dedicated and on your own when u head here. Once we got a table inside - it was a whole different type of disaster. You can only order ONE drink per person - choose from either a flight or a quarter pour. That's all folks. Imagine commuting out of your way to a destination, getting SOAKED in the rain for nearly an hour, then you can only get ONE drink. You also don't get Table service - so if you order a flight of ciders you have to nagivate holding the shot platter through the tables to your spot. Which can be iffy depending where they seat you. Also no food available!! End of the day - lessons learned. It's not fun. Pick up a pack of ciders from ur local liquor store and stay home!!

Nicole F.

Yelp
I come about 1-2x/year. This year was hoping they'd have the passion fruit flavor at the outside popup as they did last year and was bummed they didn't. Started our day here inside the tap room to receive our flight of 4 drinks for taproom exclusives. I was amazed by how much the Tropical Smoothie cider actually tasted like a tropical smoothie! The Deep Summer being a whopping 10% was definitely strong and a bit too sweet for me. I am inpatiently waiting for them to bring back the cider tours. I went a few times pre-COVID and had a blast, was honestly the best brewery tour I've been. Anyways, after spending time inside, we made our way to the popup out side where I had the peach mango, it was definitely peachy I just had high hopes to have the passion fruit that they had last year. I was also hoping to get the pineapple cider from the taphouse as I couldn't not find it in stores. Come to find out they didn't make it this year! How sad

Priya G.

Yelp
Drinks- the drinks were pretty good for cider. Not as sweet as ones I had before which I liked but definitely on the less dry and sweeter side. Their tropical smoothie and white blend are the best. Service- they only serve flights and it's one flight per person. Each flight is $15.11 but very low key place and good for a quick drink with friends. The entrance feels like you're coming through the back but that's the right way Ambiance- very laid back and love the industrial looking environment. Quick place to grab a drink on your way to the airport if you're inclined

Mel L.

Yelp
If you're in search of the absolute best hard cider New England has to offer, look no further than Downeast Cider House! Waterfront brewery tucked into the East Boston shipyard with private parking lot, outdoor beer garden and a dozen unfiltered cider flavors ready to take flight. We stopped by on a busy Sunday afternoon and waited about ten minutes to get into the bar. We ordered two different flights of cider with blackberry, grapefruit, fruit punch, peach mango, sangria, half & half (cider and tea), mimosa, and pear. We left with two growlers of blackberry and pear, as well as multiple four packs and some merch. During our visit we learned that the bar service was new to the biz, and beforehand they only hosted tours. They limited one flight per person, and still ran out of flight glasses! We offered to reuse ours as not to miss out. Pleasant visit thanks to friendly staff, perfected brews and scenic Atlantic views. All I want for Christmas this year is for Downeast to distribute in Tampa Bay!! We need you!!

Fiona Z.

Yelp
I admit my only experience with cider is Angry Orchard, so when I had a flight here, I felt like my world was revolutionized. I'm too sensitive to bitterness, which is why I've never enjoyed alcohol, but Downeast Cider hit the spot. There was a little wait, but not too long around 5 pm on a weekend. I also checked out their outdoor patio just a walk across the parking area, where they have a hard lemonade available (highly recommend) and nice seating by the water. The inside of the warehouse area was terrible on one of the hottest days of the year, but their ciders hit the spot. The heat probably kept people from lingering, which was good. There was quite a line by the time I left, and I wasn't taking my time. My favorites were the Double Blend and the Peach Bellini. I also tried the blackberry and cherry flavors, which tasted exactly like I expected (tart berry and melted icee, LOL). I didn't think any of them were cloyingly sweet, but the bitterness I associated with alcohol was so well masked that I could've easily kept drinking. I also brought in a pie from Seabiscuit just down the way and the cider and meat pie made a great combo. Parking was available right outside the building, but I just walked from Maverick Station.

Daryl P.

Yelp
Out last stop on our trip was a trek out to the port where you'll leave the hustle and bustle of downtown Boston and escape to a nearby park with a growler and cans of Downeast Cider. The park is in a great location that next time we will grab some drinks and enjoy that. Downeast Cider currently offering online and in store pick ups for their cans and growler will be a fan favorite for those that need something lighter for their summer days. I will be returning to see what the tasting room is like and I know my friends will be joining me. They were blown away by the columns of cans that wait to have their fill of that sweet and tart cider whether that is blackberry or mango or some other fruity flavor. My sister and friend grabbed growlers and with their trade system they will be walking out with a freshly filled jug every time.

Lisa B.

Yelp
Delicious!! Can't wait to come back. I ordered the sweeter flavors of cider and ended up buying the orange cider and blueberry pie. I packed it in my luggage. 10/10 would fly back to Boston for more.

Shuang Z.

Yelp
The coolest cider brewery in town! I stumbled on this place because I tried to pick up pies from KO pies before they close. The store front looks like an entry to a factory storage room. When I entered, the inside is huge: lots of stocked up beers and huge brewing system in the back. You can either purchase canned cider (limited flavor to choose), or choose from their huge selection of fresh cider on tap. The staff was kind enough to let me sample some flavors before I make a decision: I tried classic white, peach, pear, prickly pear, and orange popsicle! I ended up going home with three bottles of tap cider: peach, pear, and classic white. They all tasted soooooo good! Def will come back once I finished mine. The only downside is the location, you will need a car or Uber to get here.

Melissa T.

Yelp
Ever since I fell in love with Downeast Original at a local pub, I embarked a journey to search and try all seasonal varieties available at local package stores. In March of 2020, I decided it was time to make a visit to the cider house in Boston. Unfortunately, COVID decided to rain on my parade so I had to wait almost 2 1/2 years to finally make a trip. My boyfriend and I visited on a very hot and busy Sunday afternoon. We started off by ordering a drink (orange creamsicle and blue slushie) at the outside pop-up bar. Unfortunately, it was so busy that we had nowhere to sit or keep cool from the scorching hot sun. The crisp coldness of my delicious orange creamsicle drink helped keep me somewhat refreshed. Sadly though, my boyfriend was unhappy with his drink. To be clear, he is NOT a hard cider fan at all but tagged along to keep me happy (best boyfriend ever!) After finishing our first drinks, I wanted to go into the main facility and order a flight. The seating was very limited, but luckily we didn't have to wait for a spot. The atmosphere was super fun, literally music blasting and staff dancing around making it feel like a party. I ended up getting Deep Spring, Strawberry Lemonade, Guava Passionfruit, and a mixture of the Blue Slushie, White Slushie and Red Slushie. I thoroughly enjoyed each one, but my personal favorite was the Guava Passionfruit. Before leaving, I made sure to take home some growlers. Reflecting on my visit, I don't see myself running back for the in-person experience. I wish more seating was available inside the facility and outside for the pop-up bar, as well as food. However, I did recently make the 2 hour drive to pick up the exclusive Deep Summer (Pina Colada heaven) and look forward to picking up future exclusive flavors.

Matt D.

Yelp
Downeast is hidden away in an old warehouse building along the East Boston waterfront. As you would expect, it's a no-frills setup with a small bar area for both in-house pours and to-go orders. They have some seating but it is limited given it's still a working warehouse where all the canning happens. It can get packed here during the weekends especially on Saturdays. I prefer going to Downeast's popup cider garden across the street when the warm weather hits. There's more places to sit or you can stand along the railing with a great view of the water and skyline. Their cider flavors are top-notch. They will often make flavors you can only buy at the cider house which are worth the trip. Their blue slushie flavor was a huge hit last summer. I was compelled to make two separate trips to pick up some of it.

Mel U.

Yelp
If we ever come back to Boston or it's surrounding areas, WE ARE COMING BACK HERE! I can rave on and on about this location, honestly. From the delicious various selections of ciders to the welcoming hospitality of all the employees here, you are going to have a wonderful time trying the ciders. We did flights of their ciders and I feel like there was not one that we tried that we didn't like. All of the ciders we have tried were so good! I would have to say my favorite is their apple cider donut cider! I haven't tried another cider like this one! I am sooooo happy one of our friends, who lives locally, recommended this place to us.

Sabrina G.

Yelp
Cute place. They only let you have one flight a day. There are so many options so it's hard to only pick 4! They had spiked lemonades which were actually my favorite. I liked the regular lemonade and raspberry one. I even bought a growler to take home with me. I will be back to try more of their spiked lemonade.

Kaylin V.

Yelp
There's no food that they make in-house. This brand of cider is my absolute favorite though. The service is quick, just imagine waiting at a bar for your drinks, it's the same vibe. The inside building is tight and can get packed. The little pop-up across the lot is cute too. The parking is past the "Do Not Enter" signs when you enter the shipyard but they are labeled spots (like 6 of them) specifically for Downeast.

Morgan B.

Yelp
If I could rate this place 100 stars, I would. Every worker was so kind and helpful. Isaac, who worked the pop up garden, deserves a raise!!! Seeing the cans line the walls was so incredible. Thank you guys for sending our experience over the top.

Jennifer M.

Yelp
What a great little spot in Boston! I traveled with some friends for a weekend strip in Boston and this was our first stop from the airport. We actually WALKED here from the airport to check out some of their great ciders first thing. This is located in a nice area near the water, the building is painted with murals and the inside is just filled with kegs/bottling stuff. You can definitely tell they have overgrown this space which is great for them! Staff was super friendly and helpful with picking our flights and to go drinks. Ciders were fantastic as usual. Our only complaint was the one flight limit, but I get it!

Jon D.

Yelp
great time! awesome flavors and loved the flights. highly recommend. great atmosphere and just across the parking lot is a pop up bar for full pours.

Yelp
Spent a laid back Sunday afternoon at Downeast Cider house taproom with girlfriends. With over 12 ciders to choose from, we were pleasantly surprised by the variety we had to select from. The pours were incredibly generous. Staff was very friendly and service was efficient. We loved the creative drawings on the cider barrels. We never felt rushed; it was a great location to catch up and relax. The cider to go station was very active as well! Would absolutely come back.

Yelp
Close to the airport and a great stop to go if you have a long layover. The line to get in is long but maybe I just went on an off day.

Yelp
Delicious selection-but it the distribution center is taking over. When we went customers were only able to order one flight! Be prepared to be there for a good time but less then 30 minutes. Spend more time in line then drinking :)

Yelp
Came around noon on a Saturday and the place was hopping. To start off, I'm taking off a star because of how confusing the process to get in was. There wasn't any signage to indicate which line was for takeout versus sitting inside, so there were definitely some frustrated people (ourselves included). Disorganization aside, the employees are friendly and efficient at serving. We got a flight and the standouts were the Hard Lemonade and the Deep Summer. It's a nice and lively environment with a good amount of open-air seating. I'd definitely come back again.

Yelp
Unfortunately Downeast Cider does not serve full drinks. Fortunately they offer 5 free samples of cider! Upon entering you're given 5 wooden tokens (if you're of age of course) and each token is good for 1 sample glass of cider. I'm assuming that the types of cider offered rotate so I won't go into all of them. I will say that Rum Pumpkin was my favorite. It had the perfect amount of pumpkin flavor and it went down quite easily. If you do find yourself wanting to drink more cider (off premises of course) they have cans and growlers for sale. They also have assorted merchandise for sale. Certainly a nice place to stop by but given the limited drinks and food I don't think you'd spend more than an hour here. I'd go back if I were in the area.

Yelp
Very nice pop up. Visited for the weekend and this was a great little find. Perfect weather definitely added to the vibe. Great ciders, will definitely be looking to see if I can ship back home.

Yelp
This was on the top of my NYer visiting Boston must go!! It was way to hot, 106 hot, so it was uncomfortable inside and out but didnt stop us from trying some of the limited flavors. Inside you're only allowed on flight, booo! But sooo yummy either way glad I made it !!

Yelp
Just to save everyone the pain of driving over to East Boston and being turned away, they do not allow kids between 12 and 21. They do allow kids 12 or under. They say it is on their website- but it is not. We did point that out to them after they said it was so hopefully they will add it. So save yourself the pain we encountered.

Yelp
Love ciders, good selection. Tight inside, but staff was very good! Welcoming, smiling. Ciders were great! But only allowed 1 flight per person. Parking just outside & free. Accross the parking lot they have a full pour location with games & ample seating on the water & bathrooms.

Yelp
We were driving away from the pier area after eating at KO Pies, when through the main entrance way of what looked to be a warehouse, I saw cider being poured and served to patrons. "What manner of liquid enjoyment is this?" I thought to myself. (ok, not really, but for the sake of the story...) Then, recognizing the Downeast Cider label from a couple cans my friend had sitting in his fridge the night before, "Stop the car." As my confused friend re-parked, visions of cider barrels, freshly tapped, enticing, fruity, bubbly, filled my mind. The words formed in my throat, "Let's go try some cider." As many reviews have already mentioned, they give you 5 free tickets to try various ciders. They are small tasting flight size glasses, but hey, it's free and I'm not complaining. You can buy all the ciders in various container sizes (cans, small growler pitchers, large growler pitchers), swag like t-shirts and other branded items. The staff was all very friendly and there was never any pressure to buy, though why not, because the ciders were really good. Our favorites were the original (like drinking fresh apple cider), the pumpkin blend (nice notes of spice, on the sweeter side, almost as sweet as the original), and the double blend. We ended up buying a couple growlers and a pack of 4 cans. We will definitely be on the look out for this cider in NYC.

Yelp
I'm obsessed with their cider, nothing else I've had compares and I wish they sold it down south. I came here while visiting Boston and got a growler of their peach mango cider. I blew my mind how delicious it was. It was pretty busy when I went and they always have rotating seasonal flavors so you'll never run out of things to try. We took the growler and drank it in the nearby park close to the pier and it was the perfect afternoon!
