Hosted my baby shower here this past weekend- the owners as well as everyone that works here is super helpful and friendly. They were a dream to rent space from, very flexible, kind, and affordable. Wouldn't have changed a thing.

Google
A few years ago their craft brews were mediocre but that has changed dramatically. Their beers have vastly improved and are very good. As for the location, its very urban industrial as it is established in a former factory and warehouse. There is a large room for hosting events that, with about $20k in improvements, could be a really cool concert venue for small intimate audiences. Its never super busy or packed. The bar area has a flair and atmosphere that is distinctively unique. Downey has come a long way and never ceases to impress.

Lil Hidden Beer Gem in da Rough - could be a gym or a machine shop?!🤔 walk in, and if you're a brew-groupie; you know you're at the right place! The red door and black olde english lettering is easy to spot. Love the branding! bought a shirt b4 even buying a beer. Which can be a mistake when you have a bad 1st experience or if the beer plain sucks! Downey definitely is not in that category. The beer quality and flavors are excellent! and DBC has a proper offering of many styles of libations; DEFINITELY the BEST brewery in Dearborn. I wasted my time/money at another place in the area, Luckily, i found this place. was chill, and I took a few sips to settle in n look around the pretty expansive building - Anytime in Dearborn - this is my recommended brewery 💯 🍺

Stopped in for a couple beers. Had a yang white stout and a pandemonium, both were good, and the white stout really good. Staff were friendly and the big door was open for a nice airy atmosphere, even though I was just barely "inside".

Google
Small parking lot but really large space inside with plenty of seating. Very friendly atmosphere. A pint is 6.50. A flight of 4 is 8.00. Out of the 8 we tried, we liked all 8 of them. The legacy blood orange ipa was good, the apple pie apple cider was fantastic. Our kids sat across the room and entertained themselves. It was cool just to hang out with the locals and enjoy our flights. Highly recommend if in Dearborn.

I dont know who could enjoy a place with no air conditioning on a 90-degree day. I dont think it was as good as we have heard. The beer was nothing to brag about. It wasn't that cold and was warm in minutes I get the concept, but it needs a lot of improvement. I dought if we would go back

Google
Great atmosphere and friendly. Makes ya want to stay a while. A variety of seating areas and games. I had the Irish red - Hooligan. Beer taste & temp was fantastic.

We've been coming to Downey Brewing Company for almost 4 years now. They brew from passion, and it's shows in their beers! The taproom is generously sized for going out with a large group of friends for a pint or two! They have 10 taps with pouring their beers. My favorite is Mr. IPA, a smooth drinking 7% ABV that's just delicious!

Yelp
I hadn't been here in years, but we were at the HF museum so we decided to pop in. I actually liked the raspberry beer quite a bit but they don't have a ton of options sadly. The space feels like a brewery in the classic sense but it's not my favorite. It looks like they just found the most random space and got some tables from a thrift store. No food which is too bad but not a big deal. The bathrooms are truly awful.

Yelp
Very cool environment. Loved the raspberry beer. Service wasn't super friendly.. but loved the vibe in here. Never knew about this place, but very happy Dearborn has this

Yelp
This was my first time coming here. He has been here before but we both needed tagabrews from this location so we stopped in. I was very surprised at the size of this place. It's like a giant warehouse with things to see in every corner. We got seats at the bar and ordered a couple of beers. It was a rainy Tuesday evening. So it was not super busy. But even if it was this place was quite large. Beer was good, service was good! What more can I say? I would definitely come back!

Yelp
I bought a Groupon for this place and wasn't too sure about because I JD never heard of it before, but I absolutely loved this Brewery!!! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is so laid back. The walls were covered in art work. They seem to very involved with the community and had flyers for an event they are hosting to help someone. They also had a flyer for Bob Ross painting events, which I will most certainly be at!! And let's not forget the most important part of the brewery...the beer. I loved both of the IPAs, the Razz and the the Cider. It's hard to find a good cider that is not too sweet. This one was prefect!

Yelp
I have been to Downey a few times. The beers are good and the bartenders have always been very friendly. Large taproom and never had an issue with parking. Not far off the expressway so quite easy to get visit on your way though.

Yelp
First off, check out their website before visiting for helpful instructions like where to park and for the story of Downey Brewing Company. The parking instructions are quite helpful as there is limited parking in front of the establishment. Only a few spots available and otherwise have to park around the side. If you're a beer lover and enthusiast, then put DWC on your must stop list. Everyone was so friendly and knowledgeable about their beers. It was great to hear the descriptions about each brew. The Raspberry Radler and Mr. IPA were very good. Even if you do not usually drink a fruited beer, or have never tried one, you should give the Raspberry Radler a try. It is that good of a beer. Love what the family and friends are doing at DWC! There can be nothing but good things and more growth going into the future.

Yelp
I loved this brewery. Located in an industrial area, I was shocked at the location. You would totally miss this place, if you weren't looking for it. It was a beautiful day and they had the large bay door open. It's a huge brewery with may spaces for sitting. Art work lines the walls from local artists. We were here on a weekday and it wasn't busy at all. We sampled a few of their beers before making our selections. The beertender was great to talk with and we enjoyed learning about the brewery.

Yelp
My brother and I stopped by Downey today so I could have a couple of beers before we headed to the airport (after spending a weekend in Detroit). We really enjoyed our time at Downey. This is the kind of brewery I love! It's not a hipster, white subway tiled modern space. It's huge and old-school and traditional. Lots of tables and games and a bar with a TV and great service. And, of course, great beers. I tried a couple - a peach beer and a Pilsner. Both were great. Just a great brewery. If I lived in or near Detroit, I'd be here all the time and I'd bring friends.

Yelp
Stellar beers in a spartan atmosphere. Mr IPA is solid and the cider is perfect. Go here. Drink beer.

Yelp
I've visited Downey several times since they opened! It's easily one of my favorite places to spend my weekends. I've turned so many friends and coworkers onto them that I'm constantly running into them here! The taproom isn't too difficult to find, although I'll warn it's in an industrial/baron area of Dearborn. You park in the back and enter through the warehouse door. If lucky, you'll be greeted by the official Brew Pup®, Jager. Ahead, you'll see the modest bar area and a variety of seating. There is plenty of room for groups up to about 10. They don't have a kitchen but do offer complimentary bags of chips and bottled water. You're allowed to bring food in from other sources; one of my new favorites is Sal's Pizza. Prices are average/low compared to other breweries, with pints around $5. Everything is served up quickly. They have several board games on a shelf, as well as darts to pass the time. If you want to watch TV, they've got a large one above the bar. My friends and I always enjoy our beers, especially compared to the other brewery located in Dearborn. My favorites are the Yang Stout, One Stout, Yin Stout and Thunderbird IPA. They tend to have something for everyone on the menu. The service has always been phenomenal, with the owners always stopping by our table to say hello and ask how we like the beer. We've even been offered Downey Brewing stickers and magnets! Cashing out is simple with the Square card system, which can text the receipt to your phone. The only improvement I can recommend are changing are their hours. They don't open until 5pm on Saturday. I'm all about weekend day-drinking, so I'd love to see them open around 2pm instead. Small gripe, though. Downey is an incredible family-owned brewery that I am so excited to share with friends and Yelpers alike. Stop in for a beer sometime and see for yourself!

Yelp
Love the location and Kickstarter story. Go Spartans! Beer was great. Nice flight! Bring in your own take out. We grabbed some middle eastern food on our way. Free water at Downey, if your beer isn't enough to quench your thirst. Very helpful staff. Super friendly! Happy to see this addition to Dearborn!

Yelp
I came here for a yoga class! One of the instructors at the Yoga studio I belong to teaches a "yoga and beer" class here, so I thought i'd try it out! I drove by the place 3 or 4 times because the outside looks like an old warehouse and has a different name stamped on it. It wasn't until I saw the bright red door off to the side with Downey Brewing on it , did I know I was at the right location. The yoga class was absolutely amazing, and I am a beginner. There were some advanced poses, but I tried my best. Katie, the instructor, is amazing at what she does. The class was 1 hour and you get a beer for $1 on the brewery side afterwards. Very "warehousey" feel inside but a super cool spot, with a little bar area and a spot for cornhole games. I met the owners - husband and wife were there serving us, and they explained that they opened the brewery with their two sons and they are Dearborn natives. They said they are just an Irish family that loves beer! And boy, you can tell they love beer by how they brew it. I tried a flight and absolutely loved every one of them. Especially the porter and the raspberry beer. The owners stated that most people only find out about the place if they are searching specifically for a brewery in the area. Definitely check this off the beaten path brewery out..... worth a shot. And if you're into yoga - I even-more-so-recommend this place!!!! Yoga class is every Sunday!

Yelp
Michigan has some great micro breweries, but this isn't one of them. It's beyond me how anyone can give this place more than one star. Hard to find, lousy parking, no food, limited mediocre beers. Housed in a big, old, drafty place that looks like it was an auto repair garage or warehouse, the owners put a minuscule amount work into redecorating with most everything looking like it came out of a municipal garbage dump and bathrooms where you want to bring in your own Lysol. With only heat in half the wide open area, dress really warm in the winter. Of all the breweries in Michigan, someone has to be last. Downey's is it.

Yelp
Another startup brewery - eclectic location in the warehouse district in east dearborn. No food served on site beyond individual bags of chips, but they are good with you ordering food elsewhere or bringing it in. Service was fantastic I will say that - after we were done with our first flight we didn't need to even bother going back to the bar they were right there asking what we needed. As far as the beers there wasn't really anything I had that stuck out. The Darth Elmo was good, but like all the other beers fairly tame/generic. Basically there was nothing that warranted a growler purchase/fill. If they come out with a few IBU heavy beers I would gladly go back.

Yelp
We are huge fans of Downey brewing! The only reason we aren't more regularly there is the distance from where we live. Last year, we stopped in to fulfill a Groupon my boyfriend had purchased for us and we happened to come in on their chili cook off day! We had such a blast we've made it an annual thing and attended their third annual chili cook off yesterday. It was a fun time for sure. The environment there is sort of an old warehouse turned garage with some cool artwork on the walls, darts, and a pool table. I like it there because of these cool events they do for charitable and non charitable causes. Oh yeah, and I'm a fan of the Yang White Stout. Try it out!

Yelp
Discovered this cool quaint brewery through a deal on Groupon. It is in a warehouse industrial area and has a similar feel. It's very cool and focused on the German heritage. The staff and owners were extremely welcoming and talkative about their beers and brewery. This is something I always appreciate, to understand how it came to be and how they chose the style of beer that they bro. You can bring your own food and sit on the array of mismatch tables. I came here with a group of 10 friends and it was a great spot just to chill and not need to impress anyone. Definitely will be making a return.

Yelp
Excellent beer. Nice range of beer selections, not an all IPA menu (though they serve a great IPA). Really impressed by their stout and clean crisp lighter beers. Only negative comment, pricing is higher than most local breweries. Being in an industrial area I would expect cheaper rent. Pricing is one reason I don't frequent as much. Hours of operation could be improved, expand to to 11 or midnight on a Friday or Saturday.

Yelp
Hard to find, but atmosphere and staff are great, beer is even better. Low key and chill
google avatar

Nat Z.

Yelp
Charming warehouse space and a friendly spot for a pint. You're not going to get anything crazy experimental, nor any dark beers, but these beers are solid, reliable, lighter-colored brews-- ranging from a modestly fruity mango IPA (7.25% ABV), which isn't too sweet or too hoppy, a raspberry radler (5% ABV), or a classic, yet respectable American lager (barley, corn, rice with citra hops and Kölsch yeast). Dean and Lynette are great. Affordable growler fills. BYOF!

Yelp
Great family owned business with amazing customer service. Will definitely come back again next time we are in town

Yelp
I'm so excited about this place! First and foremost, the beer is great. This is no amateur operation, these guys obviously know what they're doing. I've tasted eight of their brews so far, and there were only one or two that I wasn't impressed with (they weren't bad, just not for me). My favorites so far have been the Mango Tango and the Yang White Stout - both expertly crafted and supremely delicious. The location is non-traditional - it's an industrial warehouse, pretty well secluded from the hustle and bustle of the city. It's easy to find, and not at all sketchy, I only hope that it doesn't deter people from seeking out their taproom. The space itself is large and open, with a good handful of tables, and about four barstools facing the taps. Board games, a large flat screen, and a nice VIP corner make it a comfortable place to hang, and there's plenty of space to bring a group of 6-10. They don't serve food, but you're welcome to bring your own, or help yourself to their complimentary bags of chips and bottled water. Staff (including the brewers and owners) is warm and attentive. Prices are spot on at $4-6, exactly what you'd like to see. Honestly, I can't say a bad thing about the place. This will likely become a regular spot.

Yelp
Cool brewery beer is cold and good. Friendly staff very welcoming. Will definitely visit again.

Yelp
Fun spot to pop in on your very own Metropolitan Detroit-area brewery tour. The setting is a warehouse (but they've got heaters, you won't be cold) and you're going to need to know where it is b/c you're not just going to stumble upon it. We enjoyed flights while we were here, we were actually able to try everything they had on tap and there were certainly some favorites. Growlers are available as are some to-go six-packs. Family-owned & operated & it shows (in a good way) as it really is a friendly place and you can tell they really care about what they're doing & serving. To stop by here feels like you're wandering into a small-town place in the middle of an urban area. If you're lucky, you'll get to pet the brew pup as well.
google avatar

Yelp
Mango Tango IPA is rocking it! The family stopped on for a sampling of their beers prior to continuing on to check out the Holiday Lights and we left wishing we had more time to continue our samplings. This isn't your normal Brew-pub, in fact right now it is still BYOF (bring your own food) as they only offer chips and bottled water if you aren't partaking in the beer. Family owned and operated and you can really tell by talking to them that they know their beer, but they don't take it overboard. They are just a downright friendly family that wants you to share in their love of beer!
google avatar

James K.

Yelp
The go-to spot for beer in Dearborn. Great beer, better people. A one-of-a-kind place that is fun no matter if it's packed or if you're the only person there.
google avatar

Stephanie S.

Yelp
What a fabulous brewery! The beer was excellent. Loved #greenandwhite #raspberryraddler. #fiddyfiddy was my favorite. The owners were friendly and helpful. Great location to hang out and have some beer! #michigancraftbeer Not an easy place to find so look for the painted door!
google avatar

Kevin S.

Yelp
This is a great place with a small town feel. The owners serve and chat with you while you drink. I'll be honest and say I didn't love all the beers but they were all interesting and I had a great time. I'll certainly go back again!
google avatar

Alex L.

Yelp
A better version of heaven. Lovely setting and people. Good beer is a prerequisite and the beer is delightful. Good variety and flavor. Check this place out :).

Yelp
This hidden bar is everything. The man behind the counter is really passionate as well. A++. The iPa was stellar.

Yelp
I visited this place because of a Groupon and it was a really good choice. This brewery has a beer for everyone and is moderately priced. The atmosphere is really laid back and casual. They don't serve food but have a couple of local delivery menus available if needed. All in all, I enjoyed the evening I spent there and will return.
google avatar

Bob O.

Yelp
Great brews and great space, around corner from Restaurant Depot. Signage a little spotty for now, it you know it when you see it!
google avatar

Zac B.

Yelp
Great new place in Dearborn, the area its at is severely lacking in quality drinking places so I was very pleased to see this place open up. Great set up in a warehouse like setting with lots of open space, bags, very industrial feel. Very hard to locate, look for the flags out front. The beer is hit and miss, I talked with the bartender and he said they are in the experimenting stage seeing what people like and they are only really sold on one for sure. I plan stopping by every few weeks to see what they have
google avatar

Mandy N.

Yelp
If you're even considering going to this brewery, do yourself a favor, and go! I passed it a few times, until I found the bright red door. You'll be looking for a red door amidst a group of warehouses. The second I stepped inside I was in love. At the end of the warehouse is a bar with hands down some of the best beer I've ever drank. I've been dreaming about it since. Something for everyone! IPA drinkers, light beers, fruit beer, red ale.. perfect mix of hops and flavor. I was so lucky to have Emery behind the bar, and they are lucky to have him. He was an absolute treasure of a bartender. I had originally gone by myself and he made me feel immediately welcomed. Matt was also great, as well as Heather who is starting soon. I had the pleasure of meeting and talking with one of the brewers and it was so fun to hear it is a family owned brewery. I will of course be going back and dreaming about the fruit beer until I do! Wether you're local or visiting, go check this place out. Hidden treasure!!
