A very uneven experience here for dinner last night. We arrived, were seated, and waited. And waited. And waited. As wait staff helped tables all around us, including some that were seated after us, we waited. For almost 15 minutes. I was ready to leave, but my wife wasn't, so she flagged someone down to see if we actually had someone who should be helping us. Apparently there had been a shift change, and our waiter was frantically trying to get up to speed for five tables all seated around the same time. Once he came to greet us, service was still a bit choppy at the start but got better as the meal went on.
We both got burgers, and my wife asked for hers without tomato. She was told the tomato comes on the side, but it's under other stuff, he said. I guess that was the response to not leave it off. Ironically, when she got her burger, the tomato was on the burger itself. Yuck. Well, it ended up on the table. A classic Mike move! I forgot to ask for no tomato on mine, and it came on the side. Go figure. The waiter realized his mistake and apologized when he came to scoop her tomatoes off the table.
Burgers themselves were both large, juicy, and delicious. I actually couldn't finish mine, which doesn't happen too often. Both the onion rings and sweet potato fries were good as well.
I'm sure we'll end up at Eric's again, if for no other reason than the menu is large and the food is better than you'd expect from a place like this.
