A Punk Rock Museum And Bar is Heading to Vegas | Eater Vegas

"At the Art Houz Theater (814 South 3rd Street) I'm seeing a whimsical and boozy 'Alice in Wonderland'-themed pop-up called Alice: An Immersive Cocktail Experience running October 20 through December 18, in which visitors will play croquet with flamingos, paint the roses red, eat 'Eat Me' cookies, and solve riddles to unlock the ingredients to teapot cocktails; the 90-minute experience costs $47 per person and includes a welcome drink, two cocktails, and a cookie." - Janna Karel

New bars, restaurants, and breweries opening in the Arts District | Eater Vegas

"I learned Art Houz Theaters is replacing the Eclipse Theater at the corner of Third Street and Gass Avenue with a three-story, roughly 72,000-square-foot dinner-and-movie complex that will feature new artwork, fixtures, and a light, open-plan environment and was announced for a June 3 debut." - Eater Staff

Art Haus to revamp the downtown dinner and a movie experience | Eater Vegas

"Replacing a previously ill-fated downtown movie house, this newly renovated three-story, roughly 72,000-square-foot entertainment complex (opening June 3) emphasizes a light, open-plan environment filled with new artwork and fixtures. It will screen first-run films while pushing a dinner-and-movie concept focused on an upper-level bar and a revamped restaurant (open Thursday–Sunday, 3 p.m.–midnight). Theater spaces are rentable for corporate presentations and private events and can be catered with the new menu in extended dining areas or on the patio. Previewed menu items span pork belly, chicken “lollipopz,” bison meatballs, and kielbasa sausage hot dogs; salads and flatbreads; entrées such as fried chicken, sea bass, duck breast, and filet mignon; a signature house burger; and desserts including lemon cream cake, tiramisu, and milk-and-cookies." - Bradley Martin

I remember this place! A lot has changed! There isn’t a restaurant inside anymore but it’s coming soon hopefully! But they are still opened! It still has a great space for an amazing restaurant on the 1st and 2nd floors (they might get an Indian restaurant at the cinema) I took pictures of the location showing the great potential for so much more. They have reclining chairs in every theater room! That’s a plus! And the customer service was amazing! Alex and the other gentleman on the early afternoon service was very helpful and knew a lot of information. I will return again. I don’t think they have a movie membership yet. But I can’t wait until they do. I would sign up and can’t wait for the opportunity to have real restaurant foods while watch a movie.

Free Covered Parking!! The staff was welcoming and friendly. The snack prices were very reasonable for a theater. The seat were comfortable, even for a double feature. Great experience. Will visit again.

OH WOW! LOVED LOVED my viewing experience at DOWNTOWN CINEMAS 🎥 (previously Eclipse Theaters) It's all newly remodeled, leather seats, beautiful bright colors throughout the lobby and halls. Nice digital screen displays outside of your movie choice. Just a class act all the way. Wonderful customer service as well! Super friendly and welcoming. There's even a restaurant attached with a lunch menu! The sound and picture were amazing during my screening and I got to see I SAW THE TV GLOW, which is another amazing bonus, as this was the only theater in town that it was playing. There's also free parking in the garage underneath the theater. The entrance is literally in the garage so you don't even have to walk! I'll be coming here A LOT.

Google
I went there with my daughter for her b-day. The place is awesome and food delicious, service exceptional. We had dinner and then we went to the movie theater they have there, they brought us our drinks to where we were sitting. Nice!! I really recomend it for a special night👍

Google
Super fun, they bring your food to you. Food was good. Pretty empty which was great we got to be loud during the exciting parts. Staff was super fun and amazing I strongly suggest keeping this place alive! They have the automatic fold out chairs for perfect relaxation.

Google
Best theater in Vegas! The seats are awesome, large, spacious, recliners and I love how there's not too many seats per room. It feels like a more relaxed experience without the large crowded rooms other cinemas have. This will definitely be our first choice from now on when me and the wife have a movie date night.

Google
Love the electric reclining seats in all of the theatres. The staff is friendly and helpful, especially Roxanne and Alex. When you order food, the staff brings it to you in your movie, great move. Had a pleasant experience my 1st time around and would recommend this to family and friends. I even had a worthy conversation with the manager, Joshua. He's a friendly chap with good ideas, and he treats his staff well.

Google
This theatre, restaurant and bar are located downtown Las Vegas and absolutely worth checking out. This is a great spot for a fun date night! I attended the WDM meeting here in July so this is also a great place for meetings! Great decorations everywhere

Yelp
My fiancé and I are huge movie goers, and enjoy being at the theater. We've been to Regal Edwards, Harkins, AMC and a few other private theaters but ho, this is one of the nicest theaters I've been to that's privately owned. So simple, very clean, and the seats are comfortable. Food is great, drinks are even better! The staff is super friendly! Amazing experience and not bad for the price. We support local theaters and we hope everyone can give this theater the chance it deserves!

Yelp
The movie theater was incredible aside for the fact you do have to go and get your food and drinks from the front . The chairs are comfortable, and the staff is kind. The only issue I had was, it seemed as if the staff was a bit lazy because the whole walkway up the staircase was completely trashed and there were employees standing around doing nothing for about 10+ minutes when I walked in . The facility could've been better maintained and ownership probably needs to keep a better eye on that! They do play great movies!

Yelp
What a find. Recliner seats. First run movies, many of which aren't shown elsewhere. Hard to find, It's on the second floor of a poorly marked building. But the reward, since it's hard to find is it's like a private screening. Nobody there. My new favorite movie theater.

Yelp
Once you get to the auditorium everything is fine. The seats are comfortable, the projection is good... but EVERYTHING on the way is a struggle. Impossible to find, second floor, no signage, no employees, and once you discover the elevator it's just a big, bleak, empty white space. Whatever happened to "the show starts on the sidewalk"? This venue has zero soul and zero flash - in a town built on razzmatazz.

Yelp
The prices are reasonable and the service is fantastic and friendly. It's a smaller independent theater with a great, casual atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Yelp
My husband and I used to LOVE coming here when it was Art Houz. Today we decided to go to the now 'Downtown Cinemas'. Theater's are still nice with the comfiest chairs in town, although this is the 1st time we got to our seats and the reclining buttons were broken on both of our seats. Lucky for us, we had the entire theater to ourselves, so we tried out chairs until we finally found a set where both recliners worked. Chairs are clearly not maintained anymore. They also messed up the ticket counter & concessions. You used to check-in downstairs where you either purchase tickets or they'd scan your barcode for pre-purchased seats and print your tickets. Concessions used to also only be available at your seat; you'd scan the QR code and a staff member would deliver drinks/food directly to you. They even had some wonderful gourmet food options. This is no longer the case... Tickets & concessions are now combined into 1 tiny desk area upstairs outside the restaurant with 1 lady scanning tickets and 1 lady grabbing popcorn. No more in-seat waiter service. Concessions are now reduced to stereotypical eats you'd get at AMC or Regal. (PS: Worst popcorn; overly salty & not fully popped so it's super crunchy & kernel-y). Seems wildly inefficient as there was a line of people from the restaurant/brunch area in the ticket/concession line to buy snacks and drinks, causing movie goers to wait to have our ticket barcode scanned; we barely made it into our assigned theater on time because of this. I don't know why people there for brunch were having to get snacks & drinks from the same counter movie goers had to go to, but it was weird and slow moving. I should've taken pictures of this weird new check-in/concession area, but alas I did not. Needless to say, I can see why we were the only ones in the theater for our movie. The charm of this theater is completely gone. We'll be sticking to AMC from now on; similar comfy chairs, ample parking, and closer to home. No desire to drive 30 minutes to Downtown Cinemas anymore :-/

Yelp
We have never been to this theater before and thought it was closed because the hours posted was a half hour earlier. We were the first ones in once the doors were unlocked and met Alex. She was absolutely so friendly, helpful, courteous, sold us our tickets, cashier for the food concession, and delivered our food and drinks to us at our seats while running the whole theater. We have never encountered such efficiency at any theater. We were so amazed with her positive energy and attitude that we need to give Alex a 5-star rating.

Yelp
Very comfortable seating, chairs recline and the staff is great. They have a hot food menu, The Chicken Sandwiches are awesome here!

Jeffrey J.

Yelp
Great place to see a movie. Friendly, caring staff--unbelievable that I'm saying this about a movie theater. Covered parking. Reasonable prices. Comfy seats. The place is a little gem.

Eric H.

Yelp
This is a nice little hidden cinema. We went for Mother's Day and they gave my mother and my wife a free popcorn for being mothers. I thought that was very nice. They also bring the food to you in the theater after you order. I appreciated the free parking as well! Very hard to find that downtown nowadays. They were also playing a movie that other theaters weren't playing so that is a plus!

Amy K.

Yelp
Nice , cozy place to take in a show. However, wish they had Coke products ! Hasn't been very crowded either time I've been there so I consider it a hidden gem !

Alison M.

Yelp
Very clean and the staff was very friendly. The seats are really comfortable and if you're in a pair you can remove the arm rest between you. The screening rooms are very clean. Sounds could be a bit louder. Fan coming off movie projector was loud throughout the entire movie. I recommend coming here regardless

Yelp
Great intimate young theatre location with a promising future.(Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning!!) ;)

Yelp
Still love going to the movies in the theater and this place is one of the comfiest. Grab a drink and popcorn, sit back in the reclining chairs and enjoy the show. This place has parking and a bar restaurant attached if you want to grab a drink or a bite before or after (I believe also during) your movie.

Yelp
Downtown Vegas is my Jam!! I remember back in the day they had a theater at the Neonopolis area many years ago and they closed it down!!! I am so glad to see that they have a beautiful modern-day theater here. There is so many friendly and wonderful people who work here. This is the best theater in town!! I usually go to Brenden Theaters for their reclining chairs but I did not realize they also have reclining chairs here! This place is in a very convenient location and open at convenient hours. They have a fabulous menu for food if you are hungry this is the place! They have a full kitchen and delicious gourmet food and snacks such as burgers, mozzarella sticks, and jalapeno poppers. Other places just have popcorn and nachos.... The service is 5 stars. I was helped by two lovely ladies Alexsandra and Nikki! They helped me choose delicious snacks and provided nothing but 5-star service. Looking forward to watching many more movies here in the future!!!

Yelp
I never knew this cinema was there but my friend and I went and it was great & very "homey" feeling!! The woman up front was very nice and informative. It had very comfortable reclining seats with a little table, but the thing that impressed me the most was how clean it was, a very big plus! We will definitely be making this our go-to theater when my friend and I meet for lunch and movie day!

Jonathan F.

Yelp
I get that you have to cater to every audience, but showing a Matt Walsh movie is beneath this fantastic theater. I've always enjoyed this place, and I hope this doesn't become the norm.

Miche E.

Yelp
Love the new name Love the rebranding I've been coming here for years. Total buzzkill the in-theater dining was cancelled. That was the main reason I would pick the cinema. Come on, Downtown Cinemas, make it special again. I can go watch movies anywhere. I did get to eat off their new menu from Naomi's kitchen which was excellent, but could y'all just have it delivered to our seats?!? Still recommend but i am pretty sure if I don't feel like driving in futures, I'll pick a local cinemas to watch a movie if I want the regular movies experience.

Yelp
This USED to be my girlfriend's a I FAVORITE theater due to the service and how luxurious it felt to be inside BUT that was when it was called The Art Houz and it truly felt like an art house. You used to be able to walk inside get scanned in downstairs and the walk up the flight of stairs was magically. Beautiful art pieces all around the staircase and at the top. You were able to just immediately go to the theater and order your food from inside. Table service was amazing and you could order actual food and cocktails. Not only that but they used to have a combo that included a large popcorn large drink and your choice of candy(enough for two grown adults) and noticed I said used to. The seats were amazing. The last time I experienced this was for the Barbie movie. Went in this past weekend to go watch maxxxine and I truly do not want to go back. Everything that made the Art Houz an art house has been stripped down. Now it's just the boring doWnTowN ciNemAs. All the beautiful art has been stripped from the walls and replaced with mirrors. And the concession stand is this tiny little table. No more popcorn drink candy combo. No more theater table service/food and cocktail service. It feels like if I'm going to a basic movie theaters now. It looks like a boring hotel lobby. The staff informed me they recently changed management/ownership. Me and my girlfriend had a short conversation with the staff at how truly heartbroken we were as they made drastic changes and made the overall experience even worse. The staff agreed as they had been working there when it was still the Art Houz. The only good thing about it now is that the seats are still the most comfortable perfect seats for any couple wanting to relax lay down and watch a movie but besides that it's truly not worth going anymore. It's crazy how it's right there in the ARTS DISTRICT and the ART HOUZ has been made into a corporate theater. Won't be going back anytime soon. I'm only leaving a 2 star because of the many memories me and my girlfriend had there before but it is not the same anymore.

Donna M.

Yelp
Quaint and Cozy! Thanks Roxanne for being very friendly and inviting. I will definitely share my experience to others.

Yelp
Absolutely appalled at the treatment by the staff at this place. Everytime I go there, there has been an issue with something. They just don't seem to be able to get it together. Went to see Deadpool, bought tickets on line and pre ordered food. First off still had to wait in a long line to check in because it's the same line as the concession stand - making no sense as to why I pre purchased food if I still had to wait in that line but I let it go. Finally got to the front and was told "oh well have to refund you for that" referring to the burgers I already ordered because the kitchen was already closed. I said that's crazy it let's you order the food when it's not available. Mine you something similar has happened to me here before while in the theater. I told them I wanted to see a manager after the movie because I pre ordered this. They told me none was available. Then another guy gets involved telling me I'm coming at them with an attitude and said he could get the burgers made right now. I told him no it's fine, I want my money back for everything to leave. I'm not going to let someone make my food when they think I'm having an attitude with them. Knowing well enough they could do anything to it behind closed doors. All of a sudden a manager appears. She kindly does the refund. We begin to walk away and the guy from earlier starts yelling down the hallway that "its a good movie you are missing!" Blatently mocking the fact that we are leaving. I turn around to ask what his name is to file a complaint. The manager asked who so I pointed past her in the window of the restaurant. At this point a security guard runs up to me and CHEST BUMPS ME in front of the concession stand!! I begin to walk away completely dumbfounded to what just happened. The security guard then chases me down the stairs SCREAMING at me and calling me all kinds of things as I'm walking out the door. I get to my car and finally lose it screaming back to him. I am formally filling a complaint and discussing the situation with a lawyer for the physical contact against me by the security guard.
