The Best City in the US for Shopping Is Exactly the One You Think It Is | Condé Nast Traveler

"Constructed from 43 shipping containers around a central plaza watched over by a fire-breathing praying mantis sculpture that shoots flames at sunset, this downtown Las Vegas hub packs indie boutiques and bars into a space that feels like Burning Man’s gift to urban planning, offering spectacle without the desert dust or self-seriousness." - Paul Jebara

On the Grid : Container Park

"A few years ago, this lot was an abandoned motel. Now it's a thriving urban outdoor shopping mall. As the name implies, the city block-sized attraction is built using shipping containers. Although this gives it an industrial feel, a family friendly tot lot featuring a two-story slide is the feature attraction. Some favorites include Oak & Ivy whiskey bar, Pinches Tacos, and Cheffini's hot dogs. Climb up to the third floor and watch the action from above. Oh, did I mention the 55-foot-tall steel praying mantis that spits fire?" - David Hardy

Las Vegas Bars and Restaurants With Live Music

"If you’re heading downtown, swing by Downtown Container Park. Once past the fire-shooting mantis, you’ll find a handful of eateries and tiny bars. In the park, there is usually a band, drum circle, or some sort of entertainment taking over the stage at the park’s rear. Grab a bite from any of the casual restaurants and bring it down to the grass or post up at a bar like Oak & Ivy to enjoy the music." - Ryan Slattery
